Kokoro in Windsor and Maidenhead

I called in to order my food and when I got it I had the wrong order! The guy who took the order told me to come in and he will swap the food, but he did not instead he refuses to honour what he said on the phone and told me to get the right food I would need to buy again! As he said it’s a waste of food! When the mistake was done by him! He then corrected me and said I called you in to sort it out not swap the food. I would of not wasted my whole journey from Slough to get the same food I would of accepted it had what I received if he explained himself over the phone! Again worse customer service ever! Do not buy in this location! Windsor is a much better option!

At 17:20 I walked up to Kokomo in Oxford on St Aldgate’s street.I had finished work and looking for somewhere to get some diner and Kokoro seemed like a good idea and I walk with both staff member sitting on counter in their phones the welcome was about as warm as an ice lolly in a blizzard.When I then walked to the counter to see why tickled my fancy I then ask if they did tasters to which the gentleman replied no we do not I then asked how do you know what they taste like so I know what I can order he then laughed at me not with me at me and said buy it that’s how.I then thanked him and walk out, dam shame as I was looking forward to finally having a kokoro in Oxford. We’ll back to sassi in the covered market at least they make you feel welcome.

Went there on 22nd Feb around 4.30pm, food good, premises clean but lady serving didn't seem to want to be there. A smile goes a long way.

I’ve never had food from Kokoro before didn’t think I’d like it , however it was fantastic full of flavour and I like how they let you have more then one dish in your rice bowl. Packaged well so stayed nice and hot will order again.❤️❤️❤️❤️

The chicken was grisly and not breast. The spring rolls are vile. The recipe for this food seems to have been put together with no idea what it actually tastes like. If you have a refined pallet do not eat here. It tastes like a family member who can’t cook has made this and you have to be grateful. Complete waste of money.

Used to be excellent until they decided to use cheaper chicken thigh instead of chicken breast. Has completely ruined their Katsu which was amazing. Sadly won’t be preserving from here again anytime soon!

Small seating area, & nice selection of hot foods. The chicken just came out of the fryer so I had to try the Katsu curry. They stuffed as much as they could in the box and was very tasty. Reasonable sushi selection (expect a top end supermarket selection rather than a sushi restaurant).

Ordered off Deliveroo, the katsu which ive had before and loved came and it was ridiculously salty- i couldnt finish the meal and nor could my partner! Very very disappointing not sure if its a new chef or what!

I love the miso soup. Large selections of ready to eat meals . Ideal for people who are in a hurry,as they have take away containers available Food is freshly cooked and taste very good Portions are big .

I've recently discovered Kokoro in Maidenhead. I tried a selection of the sushi and have had the katsu chicken curry twice and its really tasty. The portion sizes are really decent too. I opted for a small the second time around because the 'Medium' was huge!

I have had takeaways from here many times the sushi and chicken katsu curry are my favourites. A few months back I was disappointed but I believe it has been taken over and food is now great. Would recommend

I used to pop in here for food sometimes, haven’t been for a while and oh how it has changed, I just wanted a snack so ordered some fried Chicken Gyoza’s they were handed to me in a paper bag, I asked for some sort of plate and was handed a plastic tub, then I asked were the soya sauce had gone as it is normally on the table and was told by who I’m guessing is the new owner, that you have to buy it, and it “being on the table was the past shop”Changed for the worse for sure!

I used to love going to this kokoro in maidenhead, but some time after september their customer food has changed for the worst, I've gone four separate times after september to check if it was a one off bad day in the establishment, but every single time its been appalling, besides the overcooked mushy rice their new employee working their was rude, abrupt and couldn't smile as if she were the one going out of her way to do the favour of serving the food. The worst situation that happened there was when I went with 2 friends an hour before they closed we were served and then another another friend joined up 45 mins before closing time, he tried asking to be served but the lady just seemed that she couldnt be bothered to serve so she said that she was going to serve him, my friend asked about the closing hours that were clearly written on the front door and she decided not to answer back and to rudely turn her back and go inside the kitchen. We finished up eating and leave 10mins later, 5 mins after leaving kokoro this random guy comes chasing after us shouting "Are trying to chat s*** about my wife" at first we think he is drunk and ignore him, turns out this guy was the employee's husband and was causing a public disturbance over the fact that my friend tried asking nicely about why he couldnt be served.

Just love this place. been a few times now. The hot food is tasty and the sushi very fresh! A great quick and fresh takeout, perfect for chilling in front of the TV

Paying for the refurb with an increase of a pound per sushi box.. charge for soy sauce, cheaper ingrediants use such as tuna from a tin instead of fresh salmon.. crab mest replaced by crab stick...very disappointing

Excellent food and service. Particularly recommend the spicy tofu. Kokoro Maidenhead hits it out of the park every time

I have met the new manager/owner and everything tastes better, the place is clean and the service has improved too. I’ll be here regularly!

Looked forward to my first Kokora after the recent refurb. Not sure what the refurb did but I think they might have replaced the chef. The Spicy Pork I am currently trying to get through is possibly the blandest dish I have ever tasted, complete opposite to pre-refurb when it was superb. I've resorted to just eating the rice.

This is a small place, but the food is great. I've been over half a dozen times. They really pack the food into the container.

We ate here on Sunday lunchtime and had a tasty filling meal. There are several choices on display and tasting is offered to help. Portions in two generous sizes. There is a small area to eat inside or more tables outside

I went back on behalf of my daughter to complain as the rice was sooo over cooked the manager was not helpful and infact quite rude. It's not like it's even cheap to buy food there so you would think they would do wotever they could to rectify the problem so they keep happy customers but obviously not. in future will take our money else where.

We used to come here 4-5 times monthly. But the last 3 visits were very bad. On all 3 times the rice was stodgy and soggy with hard bits like it was scraped from the sides and reheated too. The chicken was hard and rubbery. The beef was dry and tough. The portion used to be good now the rice has doubled and the ingredients have halved. Gave it three bad last go's now decided never again. Hopefully it's just the Maidenhead one that's gone bad so we can still have our fix at another branch.

Whenever we want something to eat while we are in town, we always stop here with the children. We love their selection of Japanese/Chinese food, especially the sweet and sour pork, the norimaki and the noodles.

Been trying to get in here for a while as the queue is always miles out of the door which is encouraging!! I had the chicken teryaki - chicken was ok but not great however the sushi looks amazing so will definitely be giving this another go. Only bar stool seating for 3-4 so definitely more of a takeaway

I have tried other Kokoros and hence expected the experience to be a standard one. This one is very tiny and has bar stool type seating for 3-4. Outdoor seating is available though.

Kokoro offers a tasty selection of classic sushi bento, and some hot Japanese classics served with rice or noodles. The chilli chicken is a personal favourite as is the Katso chicken with curry sauce. Prices are mid range and reasonable for fresh Japanese takeaway. The sushi selection can get depleted so best to get there early if you want a decent selection. For the hot food it is regularly topped up, and well worth the wait if you want it piping hot. A great addition to Maidenhead’s takeaway scene.

Picked up a takeaway for my wife and although it was 30 minutes before they were supposed to close and there was limited food available I got her the Teriyaki Chicken, it was dreadful!!! Dry and absolutely awful, I tried it and it didn’t actually taste like chicken. Dreadful and won’t be going there again.

I took my kids here. They had Sushi and Gyoza, I had spicy chicken and Teriyaki chicken on rice. First of all, all the food was lovely and reasonably priced. I had a medium sized pot which I could not finish - I will have a small next time. We sat outside and were enjoying our food until three people, two of whom were definitely staff from Kokoro (one had served us, the other had the Kokoro T shirt on) sat next to us for a smoke. Seriously?! Way to go putting your satisfied customers off their food. I know smokers find it hard to find somewhere, but this is not the way to keep your customers happy. You guys need to find somewhere else to smoke. You would have got 5 stars without the smokey smells which lingered around our food. I will go back, but hopefully won't be subjected to that experience again.

Popped in for a late lunch and the service was extremely friendly they allowed us to Taste a few hot items before choosing our lunch I opted for the sweet chilli Chicken which had a lovely kick to it and my partner had the Beef dish with noodles. Excellent value meal.

Well worth a visit to try these Asian inspired dishes. Great mix of sushi and hot food. Some dishes very spicy so be prepared for a kick. Try it, you might like it.

On a short visit to Maidenhead liked the look of this small Japanese style cafe. Looks like it mainly caters for a lunch / office take away crowd. Nice day so we sat outside on one of a couple of tables. Ordered chicken teriyaki- medium with noodles. Came in cardboard tub. Generous portion of chicken which was very tasty and filling. Prompt service. Like.

Great little hole-in-the-wall place for good Japanese food. Great to-go service. Good sushi. Great location on High Street but always crowded.

Popped into Kokoro in maidenhead for my lunch and bought a delicious katsu chicken salad...very yummy! definately recommend them to all...great tasty food

It's a good option if you want a quick bite. The place is quite small so it's better to get food to take away. They have a range of cooked Japanese dishes and sushi trays in the fridge.

I have been to Kokoro a few times and have been really impressed with the food served here. The restaurant is quite small but we primarily use as a takeaway and take our food home with us. Excellent selection of food - including sushi and hot food, and also a lot of drink choices too. Reasonably priced and delicious food - good value for money and good portion sizes. Friendly and helpful staff too.

I'm a big Asian food fan, particularly Korean and this place hits the spot! All dishes so far have been amazing. Watch out for the spicy pork - super spicy!!

Think of a higher quality wasabi restaurant and you have Kokoro. Generous and delicious portions, I've only ordered the chicken dishes and sushi tubs, and it's always great. The inside eating area is small and there are a couple of outside tables, although I only use it as a takeaway. Maidenhead needed somewhere like this, if you like bento bars, you'll love Kokoro
