Kokoro in Windsor and Maidenhead

Avoid at all costs! I ate the vegetarian noodles and prawn katsu) which were heated up in a microwave. Massive red flag, I should have known better. felt sick within minutes, had diarrhoea within 2 hours. Should be reported for healthy and safety

Yesterday 17/08/2022 i bought my daughter a katsu with rice and when we got home and looked in the bag we realized that the plastic fork we have been given in the bag was dirty and reused. Very disappointed with the NEW stuff.

I went to Kokoro in Windsor and ordered the Salmon teriyaki. I had the worst portion ever for 9.15 Pounds. The fish was approximately four sushi strips on of my noodles where they were about to be placed in a microwave by the assistant where I told her I don't microwave my food. the food was just sweet in taste, no spices just sweet. The worst 9.15 Pound, pence meal I have ever had. I will NEVER eat there again.

Really good value koren/ Japanese food, I find it just enough in my katsu curry and rice to keep me going until dinner. Not much seating so tend to find a bench on opposite the castle to eat it.

Food is always cold and mostly dry ,THEY DONT COOK TO ORDER it get cooked early and sits on the shelf for hours .

I ordered chicken katzu curry through Deliveroo, and the chicken was burned, definetely not edible, I'm not sure why would they serve that to their customers. Burnt food should go in the BIN! It's PURE POISON! I wouldn't eat it even if it was for free.

Great customer service today, and delicious food. Favourite combo is the sweet chilli chicken and the chicken katsu curry with rice. Portions always amazing 🥰

This used to be so good with their fantastic sushi and katsu curry bowls, nowadays however, the food is overcooked, sushi is much smaller in portions and less tasty and with the same prices. Add to that the staff have a bad attitude when asked if extra sauce can be added or soya sauce etc. Ill be avoiding this place.

Quite a regular spot for me and will give praise when its due and their sushi is lovely. The Katsu chicken noodles are great!!! Defo worth a try if you are in Windsor. Can’t believe I haven’t reviewed them earlier. Maybe had the odd bad visit but make up your own mind. Staff are friendly and welcoming which is always a bonus.

Staff asked in a very unfriendly manor if my girlfriend could wear a mask. She is medically exempt and explained this to the member of staff . She was met with a rude ‘well I’ll serve you outside then’ . Fuming and got no apology. Please avoid as star have no manners.

I go here a lot, best value for money food in Windsor hands down and the staff are always very heppy!

Just wasted my money. Food is completely tasteless. Honestly, you are better of to go to Pret a manger! Did not eat the food. Ended up in the bin !!! Waitress non-friendly at all. Bad!

This is the third Kokoro I have visited and it did not let me down. We had a medium pot of sticky rice, chicken katsu curry and chicken teriyaki. It was the same great taste and quality that I have come to expect of Kokoro. Plenty of seating, we sat looking out over the high street, people watching.

I have been here a few times. It’s a quick Asian buffet for a reasonable price. Sweet and sour chicken or sweet chilli chicken with noodles is quite filling and tasty for £5.95. Service is always quick and the women who work there are friendly. Not much room seating available indoors.

We used to have our lunch at Kokoro before at other town. It was the first time that we saw Kokoro at Windsor. The layout of the shop was the same. For those who like Asian buffet would be a nice place to have. We like Kokoro' sushi and seaweed in a lunch Bento. We also enjoyed Edamame for our snack. One can order and eat inside or outside of the shop which we enjoyed out time with good quality of sushi while looking at people walking passed by. We bought some food to take away from Kokoro too. The price was reasonable and the sushi was always good quality. The staff was very nice and helpful. I asked if she can heat my Dim sum and she was very happy to warm it up for me.

Las damas de Kokoro son siempre muy atentas y serviciales. Puedes llegar comida rápido y siempre es bueno. Cuando tienes prisa o incluso para comprar un hogar para llevar, este lugar es algo especial y siempre salgo cuando estoy pasando. El sushi es siempre fresco y bueno también. Recomendaría todo en este lugar. Gracias.

Puede elegir un plato, dos tamaños, con arroz o fideos del buffet precocinado. Tal vez 7 - 8 opciones. De hecho, estoy descubriendo que la comida está empeorando progresivamente en mis últimas 3 visitas. Siempre tengo el pollo chili. Está bien, pero estoy seguro de que solía ser realmente bueno (más crujiente). El sushi es bastante bueno aunque todo pre-empacado. Así que 8 para un gran sushi, 7 para el pollo chili. Asientos limitados como un sitio pequeño. El gran punto de venta es la velocidad y la conveniencia para una buena comida.

I work close by and often come in to get something for lunch - the sweet & sour in particular is delicious! You can also get lighter snacks and salads

Very friendly staff and was served quickly. Had the chilli chicken which was lovely. Generous portion sizes too. Located on the high street with indoor and outdoor seating.

I tried the sweet and sour chicken which was okay (not the best I’ve had- Cups in Egham is much better) but it’s a large portion and warm. When I cut up a piece of chicken though it didn’t look normal (jellyish and slimey) I stopped eating at that point. The walls also need a good clean or repainting.

This place is ok. I am writing the review as a witness of my family eating. I am on GF diet, when asked 3 people that served food behind the counter if any food is GF, I got 3 different answers: one - moving the head up and down (no English speaking?), second - I don't know, third - no food is GF.

Whent in, all 3 girls/servers were on their phone, when I wanted to order it was like forcing them to serve me.

OK so this is a small place with a small amount of indoor seating, clean and well presented. The staff were pleasant and happily engaged in conversation . The menu and options were explained clearly.

If you’re on a stop over in Windsor walk straight down the road from the castle and try the sour chicken! The small portion was huge!!

Been here a few times. It's ok in terms of food. It's not the best, it's not the worst, but if you want some quick food it does a job.

We had a really nice afternoon and we love the spicy chicken! The sushi was really fresh as well. What I did not like it, they charged for some soya sauce £1... very disappointed but the service was quick and the food delicious!

Have been to Kokomo a few times not always the Windsor one . Food generally good , not so on this visit had teriyaki chicken ok , rice barely warm , tried miso soup no flavour at all just looked like dirty water with greens in it. Won’t be rushing back

This is like a Korean buffet where food kept warm, rather than prepared fresh, but they also do sushi. They use the same kitchen as the Korean restaurant next door. £7 gets you a pot of meat and rice or noodle. Includes lots of meat. Not great atmosphere because the few tables they have are against the back wall, or in a cubby hole, they do the best they can with the space available. However, the food is pretty good, although squishing it in a box with plain over-cooked rice, somehow does not present it in it's best light. We had Katsu chicken curry (good), chili chicken (also good), seafood udon (prepared fresh, my daughter loved it, had calamari in it, for me taste was just okay). Not blown away or anything with this place but an easy, quick eat which satisfies on a couple levels, the taste of the chicken dishes probably the highlight.

I love the chilli chicken from here, its such a tasty lunch spot, the trouble I have is to not go back as often as I do. I want to try some of the other dishes but just cant bring myself to do it either.

We have been to the Kokoro in Windsor a few times as we both like the quick service and tasty food. On the last 2 occasions we have had a mix of food, chicken katsu with rice, teriyaki chicken with noodles, spicy chicken with rice and chicken gyoza's. The small portion is more than enough to fill me and has plenty of chicken in it; it's a bit to big for my daughter so we usually take it home so I can finish it off later.

Super food .. great portions providing excellent value with exceptional quality Be careful with the spicy pork . It has a kick .. !! But is also fantastically addictive GIRLS IN WINDSOR BRANCH ARE LOVELY HAPPY AND FRIENDLY !!

Always go here for a bite to eat. The Menu is short and easy to order from. Straight forward and very consistent each and every time I visit Windsor.

If you feel the urge for sushi or korean or chinese head here over yo sushi. The fresh sushi is good value to takeaway and the hot food is equally good value ready to pick up and run.

Cibo di bassa qualitá , riscaldato per troppo tempo e quindi appiccicoso. molto poco digeribile!!!!!

The takeaway from here is very good, a nice sized portion with either rice or noodles. The taste of the food is excellent

Ok, I'm a bit of a fan of Katsu curry. I only discovered it two years ago, and the three best places that do it are "Wasabi" who are only in London, Wagamama, and Kokoro.

I wanted a quick bite to eat before my drive back to London. Not keen on the usual fast food places. I had seen a woman earlier eating some kind of coated chicken from a tub. So when I saw a guy later in the day eating the same thing I just had to ask where he got it from. He directed me to this place. The chicken looked great but I was also curious about the pork so I had a mix. The pork was okay but the chicken was lovely. Service was quick and easy and the ladies serving were very friendly. I went for a regular size and it was huge, struggled to finish it so had to leave some of the rice. My friend went for the large and couldn't eat all. We sat outside as the sun has popped out. Went in after to use the loos. All clean and tidy. Hadn't eaten at this chain before but I will definitely again.

If you like katsu curry or Korean food, look no further. I had the best katsu carry ever. I used to est it at Wagamama, but for half the price and double the size you can go to Kokoro and won't be upset. Bear in my mind that it is mainly for take away as there are only 2 tables outside. But You can try their restaurant inside, at the end of the corridor. I haven't been there yet, but will definitely book some day.

This is my fourth meal from Kokomo and I've ordered the same dish every time ,Chicken Katsu. I have to say the food has really gone downhill. The chicken was almost burnt and very dry. The sauce watery and the rice was one glutinous lump. This is really unacceptable and I won't be eating their food again.

I used to go to M&S; until this opened and initially had the noodles and various options available but the Sushi is just fantastic and great value.

It was a long day, and I wanted a simple meal. This was the right place. Solid Japanese (and Korean) dishes on the menu. Chicken katsu dinner was large, quite filling, and basic good stuff. Along with a soda, it was just what I needed.

Stumbled across this little eatery and was amazed by the food. Chilli chicken and noodles were so good we had to come back the next day too.

We arrived close to closing time on a Sunday and had a very generous portion of chicken katsu and the deluxe sushi was good sized, tasty and a good price. Highly recommended compared to wagamamas or wasabi.

Kokoro inside looks like a take away with a few seats inside. There is a good choice of hot Asian dishes (Korean/Japanese) on the menu, which is similar in concept to Wagamama, offered with a choice of rice or noodles served in a paper bowl. The cost for two was just a little over £10 so it's in the same price range as McD's/Nandos/KFC and I found the food way more enjoyable to eat.

Despite my last experience with Kokoro, I went there again today, thinking that it should have improved by now, if customers' reviews were taken seriously. However, to my disappointment, it seems to be getting worse. I ordered Spicy Tofu and although the tofu was quite delicious, the paper cup of food was TOO SPICY! Although this restaurant has got a so-called Japanese name, "Kokoro" (which means heart), the food there is not authentic. Last year, I had sushi there and the rice did not stick well enough for easy consumption. So, today, I opted for cooked food instead but the spicy tofu (of course not a Japanese cuisine) was full of chillie seeds and the heat of the food was really unbearable. It tasted more like Thai food because Japanese curry always has got a sweet tangy taste. On top of that, they do not sell hot drinks and most of the drinks were cold ones. There was no service at all because I had to carry the tray of food and was not told where the disposable cutlery and tissues were. Finally I had to return to the counter to ask them and all they could say was, "Is this your first time here?" Unbelievable! I think such a kind of restaurant should not adopt a Japanese name because it really tarnishes the good image of Japanese restaurants, which always take pride in their meticulously prepared food (good quality and colour presentation) and also their excellent services. I would suggest that they simply call it "Oriental Kitchen"!

I went into Kokoro today to pick up some lunch, and wasn't sure what to order - the man who served me was extremely helpful, and talked me though what everything was and how spicy, etc, and even gave me a tester bit to help me make a decision. I wish I'd taken his name - he was so helpful and polite.

This place was absolutely fine - there was nothing wrong with it - but nothing especially good about it either. The staff were pleasant enough, the food was ok - but didn't really do anything more for me than fill a hole.

There are mixed reviews for this place . I have tried the Guildford one and liked that and my experience of the Windsor Kokoro was good. Staff pleasant and Sushi better than I normally eat elsewhere. I will go again and try some of the other food.

It was extremely cold today so I went to Kokoro, hoping to eat a hot meal before going shopping. When I arrived there at around 3.45 pm, most of the hot food was gone, except for various types of chicken meals. Without having any choice, I had to eat Sushi, Gyoza and a cup of Miso soup. The sushi was quite okay but the gyoza was not hot (despite having it warmed up) and the miso soup tasted awful in the cup. Just like dining at Itsu in Reading before, I really do not recommend dining at Japanese fast food restaurants!

I've been here twice now - first time was a long wait followed by a "yes?" from the staff, they also didn't have what I asked for on the menu. Second time, the staff were particularly rude. I was charged £2.95 for noodles, I gave £3.05 so I could get 10p change. She didn't count it and gave me back 5p, then squabbled with me over it when I asked for 10p. I eventually told her it wasn't worth the argument - she handed me my food without any 'thank you' or eye contact. Then, as I was leaving, she came up and gave me the 5p difference.

You'll get a slightly different tasting meal every time you go in here, that's not a bad thing but it can be a bit of a shock. I ordered the spicy pork and it was a lovely lunch, the medium portion is more than enough for your average human. It has nice hints of spice and the rice hadn't been sitting around for too long (sits in a giant rice cooker that is topped up often). The next time I ordered it and I was in a spice induced nightmare for the next thirty minutes. The spice level was atomic. I tried everything to make it go away but it was there pounding in my mouth for what felt like an eternity. This place is like buying a ticket to Korea and not knowing if it's for the south or north.

The sauce of the sweet chili chicken with rice is delicious, however, the actual chicken itself is gross. I'm not even which part of the chicken this comes from. I can appreciate thigh meat and darker bits, but this is on a whole new level. It would be great if they could use all white meat (chicken breast) or alternately do a vegetarian version exactly the same with tofu. It's also incredibly tough and impossible to cut or bite in to. It's a shame as if they could amend it, I would eat there daily for lunch as it's just down the road from my office.

Quick, easy and tasty food. Portion sizes are generous and the staff are always courteous. Limited seating means that you won't be spending long but it is clean. Much better than a sandwich, pasty or other lunch options in the area.

Popped in for lunch on a day trip to Windsor. Very reasonably priced medium lunch pots for something a bit different. Less than £6 for Chicken Katsu with lashings of sauce. Very tasty, friendly staff and quick service. Just a shame there isn't one where I work but probably a blessing for my waistline!

Makes a nice change from sushi - Korean food is a delight. Very spicy (which I like) but also healthy. The chilli tofu was amazing!

We popped in for some take a way sushi. Got a few dishes. My friends week a few weeks ago and said the hot sugars were lush.

The food was pretty good except for the sushis. They didn't have much taste. Regarding the Gyozas and the boxes the only weak point : it wasn't very warm.

This is a relatively new restaurant attached to a "take a way", so the restaurant may not be that obvious.The menu is very limited , but all the food seems to be cooked freshly and of a very high quality.The staff were really helpful explaining the different types of dishes 9 all new to me).I would definitely go there again.

This is a great place for Japanese food you order your size of tub then say if you would like rice or noodles then choose a topping or a mixed topping then take it away in a tub hot, freshly cooked food. Worth a visit for a take away it certainly feels you heart soul and spirit which is what Kokoro means

Popped in here by chance on a rainy Friday afternoon. Staff friendly, food was great and good value. Chicken Katsu very, very good. Tasty sweet chilli chicken. Medium bowls good portion size and left feeling full and satisfied. Will be back!

Try chicken katsu. the taste is much better than the katsu that I ate in Japan. great place to grab lunch. the location is also good, just in front of Windsor castle. Love this place!!!

Tasty food in the heart of Windsor. Enjoyed a medium sized tub of chicken noodles for lunch; it was generously filled and sustaining as well as being modestly priced. You can sit on a stool to eat a takeaway or go into the restaurant at the rear.

Had the 'small' 2 dishes with rice for less than £6 which was easily enough food and I have a big appetite. Got there just as it opened so food was all nice and fresh. Also have a good selection of well priced sushi, so I got some to take away for later.

Went shopping in Windsor today. Fancied a spot of lunch and decided to pop in.

When passing, the staff were offering small samples to taste, and all of the offerings were exceptional.

The Korean beef stew was so nice and I thought great value for money. A great find, and the one in Maidenhead is good too. I also had the Katsu curry which was also very good.

not enough seating and prices are higher than in the Camberley store......why is that......oh let me guess, its because your in windsor and you can rip off tourists. apart from that little gripe its a good place for a quick snask kids love it

Took my daughter here after school for a quick treat, lovely friendly helpful staff and really tasty Korean food.

Nice enough sushi. Hot meals look fast food-y (smells like an outlet called 'Wasabi' that you find in train stations).

I was happy that I found a kokoro in Windsor as I have visited it in other places which was very nice. Right from when I was deciding what meal I would like, the girl serving me was very rude and did not smile one single bit. She sounded so miserable and it made me feel uncomfortable and angry. After she prepared my meal, I had simply asked if I could maybe have a little more sauce which obviously was a massive deal for her as she gave me nasty looks about this. Very disappointing and will never be returning.

Having been and enjoyed the one in Camberley, thought we'd pop in for lunch. It's a very small shop with a Korean Restaurant behind it.

At the opening I loved it, but has got worse over time - is it too busy or are they starting not to care? Watery katsu curry is not what you want and the sushi seems to be a little lacking care. Lack of seating.

Kokoro has only recently opened in Windsor and as we walked past in noticed they do Teriyaki chicken which my daughter loves so we went in to have lunch. They have a unit for keeping food warm and I ordered a small teriyaki chicken and noodles for my daughter.

Woke up and took a stroll to work. Passed KOKORO and watched the staff early in the morning preparation a lot of food. It's unusual to see and to see Japanese Food being prepared was worth it.
