Lovely little hidden gem. Been wanting to try Korean food and it was amazing. Flavours were fantastic, never thought I'd like Kimchi dumplings but they were amazing and the sauce for the fried chicken was very good. We were the only ones in there on a Sunday afternoon and they let us bring our dog in. Which was great as we were going to order takeaway but it was lovely to sit in and eat. Lovely staff, lovely food, lovely place to eat.

What a surprise place to find in whitby. Nice food with a Korean fast food feel about it. Will eat again there. Try the sweet chilli chicken...

This little shop tucked away near captain Hook museum shop is an amazing little find. They serve vegan food and its delicious.

Enjoyed a lovely meal at Koko Korean on Friday! The service was prompt and the chef was polite and made some excellent food! We ordered the dduk-kochi & sodduck sodduk for starters, which were delicious! We also ordered a pork bibimbap and a vegetarian one too, the food was gluten free and tasted incredible. Lovely atmosphere, very relaxed and fantastic service. Will be returning during our next trip to Whitby!

Delicious! Our fussy 5 and 7 year olds loved the fried chicken, the 11 year old had the sweet chilli fried chicken which my husband and I were jealous of and our 2 meals were incredible as well. My oldest said it 'deserves to have a bigger space so more people can enjoy it!'

I’ve been wanting to try this since my last visit to Whitby 6 months ago but WOW! it was definitely worth the wait. The staff were friendly asked about spice preference to ensure I enjoyed my meal. I ordered the Korean Pancake and Vegetable Bibimbap. The food was super flavourful. I’d truly recommend the place. Pretty good price and definitely worth it!

Had a take away spicy chicken and a Korean pancake and it was amazing, juicy, crunchy, spicy and freshly made in 10mins, shocked this place isn't busier.

Had the kimchi dumplings and vegan bibimbap. Both were delicious, just the right amount of spice, and the service was great.

My wife and I ate here today as we're in Whitby for a week. Wasn't disappointed! I'll probably be back tomorrow lol.

Would have loved to have rated it differently but when you order Bibimbap main and the waitress/chef brings out the main courses she apologises as she has made you chicken and rice in error I can't really rate higher. That said, the pancake starter and kimchi dumplings were glorious. Chicken and rice was basic, but tasty. Just a shame it wasn't what I ordered.

Warm and welcoming place with the most delicious Korean food! The fried chicken, bibimbap and Korean pancakes were all freshly made and just what we needed on a cold and windy day in Whitby! Must try if you’re visiting!

Absolutely outstanding!!! First time here on last day. In terms of value for money and taste...stupendous. The chef is an artist. I watched him prepare several dishes with precision and love. Simple but stunning menu with exquisite service. It's a pleasure to be served here. Thank you 😊 💓

The Bibimbap is just amazing as is the sweet spicy chicken 🍗 A total treat.

Just had lunch here we got 2 meals sweet chilli chicken and rice and spicy chicken and rice. The food is really really nice however at nearly 8.50 a meal for three chicken drumsticks and a handful of rice or chips is shocking. The food we got must have cost no more than a pound. I realise you have overheads but there needs to be balance between profit and value for money no one can say 3 drumsticks and a hand full of chips is worth 8.30.

Superb and we were staying just round the corner so went back for seconds. Glad holiday treat as may of become addicted. Simple menu and very tasty. May they do really well with battered chicken in town of battered fish.

The atmosphere was really good and the food tasted really authentic. It was like I had been transported right into Korea. It is a good place for kpop lovers due to the songs played. While I was ordering I managed to listen to sneakers by itzy and love by monsta x. You also have the ability to choose your spice level when ordering food which ensures that you can eat it. I truly recommended this place as one of the best korean takeouts and hope you have a good time there

Went there for some food and I didn't regret my decision it's nice to see how nice worker is. Even though it's small it's great. It's a big difference from the fish and chips here.

Ordered 1 beef bipmbap, 1 fried chic, 1 kimchi dumpling, spicy dipping sauce. 1st expensive over £20. Then had to wait over 15mins. Small portions. Bipmbap bowl barely 1/2 full. Chicken was 2 legs 2 ‘nuggets’ for nearly £6. Got wrong dumplings. Taste was ok. I feel it should be much better…

had spicy beef bibimbap and fried chicken and chips, both were very yummy. the lady at the till was friendly and helpful and the food was a very reasonable price (around £8 each). food took probably around 10 minutes after order. overall amazing and would reccomend!!

As soon as I saw this little gem I knew I had to try it!.The service was lovely and cheery from the owners.I ordered the Korean pork bibimbap and it did not disappoint!.The sauce was so flavoursome and the food was lovely and fresh. I have been in Whitby all week and I can honestly say it was one of the most tastiest meals I have had all week!.I 100% recommend, especially for spice lovers like myself.I will definitely be returning here!

After wandering round for a while reviewing options on a Tuesday evening when quite a few places were closed we ended up trying Koko’s. It was so good we came back again the following night!

Have tried everything on the menu and it's absolutely gorgeous! A great alternative when greasy chips gets a bit old and the owners are lovely. Well worth a try, especially if you've never experienced Korean food before. The kimbap and dumplings are my favourites!

Great spot to go if you want to have great korean food. The vegan bibimbap was amazing. Sweet, savory, spicy, and a perfect rice, sauce, and vegetable ratio. The restaurant also sold korean soft drinks, kimchi and noodles. The man working there was very sweet and made the food fairly quickly. If you’re ever in the area you HAVE to stop by.

The food was delicious and they prepared it quickly too. The owners were warm and they have a good variety of dishes to choose from as well. However, this place is only takeaway.

Really enjoyed our chicken after a fish heavy week (Whitby is known for its fish, after all) The spicy chicken is a slow burn - it sneaks up on you but was great. Chicken very crispy and enjoyed by all. Dumplings good too although I like my kimchi with more chilli. Very enjoyable and I wish the owners every success :)

The spicy beef bibimbap was excellent. I would say that looks can be deceiving and to give this place a try if you want some different from fish and chips in Whitby.

The plan was to eat fish and chips while sitting at the pier enjoying the view. However, when I walked pass this place I thought well .. I can always have fish & chip at the seaside anywhere in the UK but not an authentic korean food. I didn't regret my decision at all. The place is very small and clean, you might need to wait outside while your order is being prepared, that would give a space for other customers to come inside and place their orders. The lady serving us is very lovely. We ordered spicy beef bibimbap, a healthy choice and very tasty one! They take payment by card which is great. I would definitely go back to this place next time I am in Whitby. Highly recommended!

Walked past, was curious. We tried it and it's the best we have ever had! Fired chicken was beautiful and light. Kimbap was amazing too- really fresh. Lady serving was lovely! Bought some ssamjang to try which was also really nice! 100% recommend!!

This is a takeout Korean restaurant that Chabak Chabak visited because he wanted to eat Korean food. The boss boasts that his daughter got into Oxford this time. You should be proud of your daughter~ Boss. You must be working hard to teach your daughter well while living in a foreign country.

The BEST fried chicken I've ever tasted! The batter was light and crispy. The chicken was tender and juicy! Cooked to perfection. And the sauce was sweet, with a perfect amount of spice. It was a flavour explosion in my mouth! The rice was also nice and fluffy, and the bibimbap was crunchy, flavourful and overall delicious! Definitely come Here!

Delicious bibimbap and dumplings, really a hidden gem.

Absolutely fantastic food, a perfect addition to Whitby, especially if you don’t want fish and chips for the 3rd day in a row on your holiday! We had the sweet chilli fried chicken with chips and it was some of the best fried chicken we’ve ever had. It was crispy, fresh and tender, the sweet chilli was delicious, it was served and packed with so much care, and the man running the shop was so lovely and clearly takes a lot of pride in his food.

As a local of Whitby and one who works up the street from koko chicken I often eat from the joint for its convenience but there’s more to it than that. The owners are wonderful. The food is relatively inexpensive. The meat is of the best quality expertly breaded, succulent and covered in a tangy delicious stick sauce with fresh white rice. At 8 pounds and 30 pence it is the best food I have ever eaten for under 10 pounds. Koko chicken has set a high bar for Whitby street food and I believe that it cannot be topped. The humble pie and mash team looks forward to eating from koko chicken for what we hope to be a long future for their business. Perhaps if they offered boneless chicken it would be a slight convenience for those who simply don’t have time to sit down and eat but besides that I cannot find a flaw of koko chicken. Simply outstanding

Tucked away amongst a myriad of fish and chip shops in a small side street, this Takeaway is a certified hidden gem. The menu may look fairly small but I'd call it refined. Where many Takeaway serve too many dishes to count that end up all tasting either the same or try to be a jack of all trades but end up mastering none, Koko provides a greatest hits of Korean Takeaway food, offering a small but varied and distinct range of dishes that are all excellent. The service was speedy and very friendly and the portion sizes are very respectable. The bibimbap is hearty and flavoursome, I had the pork and it was tender and tasty. The dumplings were also impressive, crispy yet with moist interior. What stole the show for me was the spicy fried chicken, the sauce coating the outside was outstanding, sweet and tastefully spiced. The chicken is coated in a generous amount of sauce but the chickens coating is still very crispy, with the meat itself moist and juicy. Very very impressive Takeaway and would recommend to anyone staying in Whitby

We've been to Whitby so so many times and this is the best food we've ever had here. Delicious takeaway, very fresh, lovely people, would highly recommend. Well be getting a takeaway here every time we visit.

I live in Sheffield, and I accidentally found a Korean restaurant, and after a long time I ordered Korean chicken and ate it when I got home. It was a pity that the food cooled down on the way home, but it was still crispy and we enjoyed it very much. The owner is also friendly and it is a restaurant I want to go back to next time I go to Whitby. I recommend this restaurant!!

We has the kimchi dumplings and the fried chicken and were super impressed at how delicious the food was for such reasonable prices. At time of writing dumplings were a fiver and chicken was just shy of 8 pounds. We ate at Hadleys round the corner first, walked the food off going up to the Abbey, and then got this Korean food for our stroll back to the car. A great british day out with a little modern twist and would heartily recommend!

Bibibamp decent. Korean fried chicken was not good. The batter was way too thick and was undercooked on the inside. It reminded me of a donut mix and the sauce was rather sickly. The flavour had not been absorbed by the chicken and the overall quality/quantity of the meat was lacking. Sorry…expected better.
