This is the ultimate decadent experience for chocolate lovers. The barista pointed me to the menu on the counter- I expected to see the standard fare of coffees and was delighted by the extensive selection of chocolates you can choose to customise your fav bev. It ranges fr ~34% to 100%, and you can choose a mixture or single estate. We went for the 49% single origin Venezuelan cocoa. I couldn’t tell you the difference between single vs mixed cocoa beans, but it was the most delicious hot chocolate we had ever had. The milk felt micronised and left a perfectly velvety taste. The sweetness of the 49% was perfect without adding extra sugar (probably could go darker if you want it less sweet). The Knoops origin story is cool and if you panic at the top of the queue, check out their website for the menu before heading in. Cost wise, probably a more expensive brew than other cafes, but makes a nice first date joint (and then you have an excuse to for a second date to try the higher % in a blind taste test) Sorry: - can’t post the website here- Tripadvisor will ban the review ;) - forgot to take pictures (so will need to go back!)

¡¡No estoy hinchada!!!

I’d not been to Cambridge city centre for about 2 years, but met a friend and former work colleague for dinner. After eating, we looked, unsuccessfully, for a coffee shop. Most were either closed, or no longer there! (there have been many changes in Cambridge since my last visit). We found Knoops - and I’m so glad we did! I had a 36% (milk) cold chocolate and my friend, Agata, had a 28% cold white. We both agreed that they were the nicest we’d ever tasted. They have a huge variety of ‘percentages’ in cold, hot and milkshake form, so lots of choice - AND they also do coffee! Reasonably priced too, particularly when compared to even a bog standard coffee. Highly recommended 👍❤️

Very long queue which I was happy to wait in as I’d heard good things! We ordered, we’re given a number and waited for around 20 minutes. Their system seems quite dysfunctional, with only one person actually making the chocolate. While we were waiting, the person who seemed to be in charge was repeatedly quite rude to customers, making snarky comments when people didn’t come immediately to collect their order (usually because they couldn’t hear in the hubbub). When ours was ready we went up immediately, my friend asked for a sleeve to hold her drink and he retorted that she should just use her hand. I know working in the service industry can be miserable but it seemed unnecessarily unkind. The chocolate was fine, not really worth the wait or the unpleasant experience - won’t return.

Food and service were ok and prices reasonable, but this is very much a local boozer and customers were a little raucous. Good value.

Terrible service. Staff were unfriendly, did not ask at any point if we wanted anymore drinks or dessert. Had to wait 30+ minutes for a takeaway box and our bill despite asking twice. Non-optional 12.5% service charge was added to our final bill without any receipt given to see the breakdown of cost which was definitely not deserved. The food however was lovely but will not be going back due to poor service.
