Knife Restaurant in Lambeth

Knife is a real gem of a steak restaurant. The food is excellent, with the mini Yorkshire pudding amuse bouche a nice touch, and the mac n’ cheese side is definitely to be recommended. Best of all is the service from the friendly and attentive staff who always find a moment to make guests at ease.

El menú ofrecía platos interesantes, pero la calidad de la comida no siempre cumplía con las expectativas. Sirviendo un pudín Yorkshire como lado de cortesía antes de que el plato principal se sintiera fuera de lugar. Además, el ribeye era sabroso, pero era pequeño por el precio, lo que lo hace sentir como una mala relación calidad-precio en general

Disculpas por la revisión tardía, pero he estado fuera. Mi esposo y yo nos reunimos con nuestro hijo, su novia y un amigo suyo para celebrar una graduación. Habíamos llegado primero y sabía que iba a comer despacio, así que pedimos primero. La encantadora señora a cargo no podría haber sido más servicial en particular mis peticiones. Nos trajeron un poco de pan hermoso y mantequilla de médula seguido de mini budines de Yorkshire y salsa que estaba delicioso. Luego un filete Galloway cada uno cocinado y cortado maravillosamente. Todos amaban su comida y mi hijo y yo compartimos un pudín de chocolate. Todo delicioso y aunque necesitaban la mesa para las 8 de la tarde, no nos apresuraron y fueron muy amables y atentos. -Muchas gracias.

Era una cena temprana, ya que las 6 pm era el único espacio disponible asignado a nosotros. Nos dieron 2 horas para la reserva. Era el regalo de cumpleaños de mi esposa y se lo había dicho. Toda la comida que pedimos era agradable y bien presentado. Uno de los servidores parecía apurarnos pero no abiertamente. A las 7. 55 nos presentaron la factura aunque nos gustaría tomar un café para completar nuestra cena de noche. Aunque conscientes de la hora de finalización de nuestro espacio para comer, habría sido bueno terminar nuestra cena correctamente. No había nadie esperando nuestra mesa. Salimos a las 8. 00 pm sintiéndome ligeramente decepcionado con la actitud del servidor.

Gran restaurante amable que sirvió porciones súper grandes de comida deliciosa. Por el lado positivo, es amigable para perros, ya que había querido llevar a mi 13 viejo a tantos lugares como fuera posible. Definitivamente iré una y otra vez.

Great food, wine and service. We all tried different plates and each was lovely cooked to perfection. Didn’t need a starter!

Wowwww!! What a warm welcome; it felt like we were regulars even though it was our first time . The food was sublime . Melt in your mouth Yorkshire pudding, delicious ciabatta and sourdough with homemade butter to warm your tastebuds. The mains beyond scrumptious… perfectly delicious pork belly and lamb multiple ways graced our plates with beauty and flare . The sides were generous portions of indulgent crispy roast potatoes, cheesy cauliflower and mouth watering roast root vegetables and sweet onions . The sauce was drinkably delicious. Don’t skip dessert as it perfectly rounds off the gastronomic adventure. Almond tart and rhubarb perfectly married the vanilla custard and the chocolate brownie dessert was a celebration of delicious decadence. I now understand why our welcome felt like ‘home’ … because Paulo and his team treat food and their guests with the love they would give family. Thank you for the gift you gave us .

This restaurant is outstanding. My son and his partner took me here for supper and a really good find. Every course was brilliant and an explosion of tastes. Staff very helpful and friendly explaining each course. The bottom line really is whether I would return.... 100%. You will not be disappointed

Nous étions partis pour faire notre dernière soirée à Londres avec une pièce de viande dans une grande ancienne et avons changé notre fusil d'épaule en lisant les avis au sujet de "Kinfe". L'accueil y est extrêmement gentil et anthousiaste. La viande est réellement divine et cuite à façon. Les cocktail originaux et les desserts généreux. Ce n'est pas bon marché, mais ça vaut largement le coût quand on veut la qualité. Allez y les yeux fermés et les papilles affûtées 😁

The roast is okay but could be better. The roast potatoes taste reheated and not fresh. The gravy was also watery and not much was given The cauliflower cheese was the best part. Service seemed a bit rushed we had received the bill within 40 mins of arriving. I have had much better roasts for the money paid

I went to this place with my friend for a good roast dinner. It is a tiny place and it was fully booked the Sunday we went. Pre-booking is a must. When you do you will be told you can only have your table for 1 1/2hr and they mean it. We decided not to have a starter just some pork scratchings which was good as Knife offers some complimentary bread as well as Yorkshire puddings. We both decided to go for the pork belly and the portion you get given is HUGE. Three big pieces where normally you get one. We wanted to get some dessert but alas we were out of time. I'll try to go back and hopefully be a bit more speedy so I can grab some of what I am sure is their delicious dessert.

Fantastic customer service and utterly amazing food. Cannot praise the cooking of our steaks highly enough. The mini puds were a great touch. And my salmon gravalax was so beautiful! Will come again.... And we live in Cardiff!

My partner and I booked this restaurant for dinner during our stay in London. (Definitley recommend booking on a weekend to guarantee a table). I was nervous because I don't ever go to high end more expensive restaurants but as soon as we walked in we were made comfortable by the friendly staff. We had cocktails which were unique different to the usual options and they were lovely. There was complimentary bread and Yorkshire puddings then we had the fillet steak to share with fries, mushrooms and peppercorn sauce which all was incredible! Even squeezed a pudding in which was delicious as well. We're already thinking of coming back. 😂

The Sunday roast here is out of this world. The meat is cooked to perfection, and the sides are mouthwatering. The staff is super friendly. Really recomend to anyone!

The steak was very good (cooked perfectly) and they have a fantastic selection of wines. My party shared the Malbec and it was some of the best wine I had on my trip. However, the sides really missed the mark for us. The mac and cheese was completely flavorless and so, so dry. It was basically overcooked noodles. The potato side dish and popovers weren't very good either-- lacked flavor. Luckily, the sauces served with the steak saved the day. Delicious. I also finished the night with an espresso martini and it was very, very good. We had very sweet and attentive service and it was a cute local place. Even with the very poor sides, I would never steer someone away from here. I think it's worth a try

First time visiting this amazing find, and first time enjoying a restaurant so much I feel I ought to write a review. We were running late so called to ask if we could push the booking back. No problem. The food was spectacular. Pork scratchings incredible, long horn fillet mains perfect, sides of the charts good. The corn is unique, the mac and bishops finger delicious. And the meat itself the best I’ve had. Service was absolutely perfect and I am already planning a rota of different friends to take here separately to maximise my visits…

Excellent food, excellent staff, excellent evening! Moved out of Clapham a year ago and returned for a birthday meal. This restaurant is unpretentious yet amazing. Will definitely return again soon!

We went to Knife on Friday night for my husband's 50th birthday. Despite us being delayed on the train and 45 minutes late for our table, the staff could not have been nicer and made the end of our day so special! They could not have been more friendly or helpful and the food.... absolutely amazing, by far the best steak I have ever had (the beef dripping chips and Yorkie puds are out of this world)! If you are in London, you have to go to this restaurant. We went with our girls, 15 and 13 and they just loved the whole experience. My husband was overwhelmed at the staff's attention. A round of happy birthday from the whole restaurant was the icing on the cake! Thank you again for the best experience.

What a wonderful restaurant and great quality food and brilliantly knowledgeable and friendly staff. Yes it is a little expensive but you have to pay for quality!! Well worth a visit. This is one of the best restaurants I have visited this year.

We made a late booking and experienced first class service from friendly staff and the best steak / sides I have eaten probably ever - 10/10 thanks

WE LOVED IT! Trust the reviews. Greatly sized portions. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had no idea how to navigate through the menu and the staff gave their top picks and they did not disappoint! We had the Sunday Roast and we left very full! I recommend the sticky toffee pudding to finish off your meal. It was amazing and quite a treat to finish a very savory meal. I do recommend making your reservation earlier in the day, the kitchen closes at 4:30pm and that was the time of our reservation. Great staff l, atmosphere, and food!
