Truly African meal and service. Loved the soups. Wow

Went there with my family. Food was excellent a great way to experience african foods but it's always the music. It's not child friendly. I would recommend assorted meat, fish, chicken, salad, jollof rice, plantain. Even though the food take long to make it's definitely worth the wait. It is fresh and cooked properly unlike the precooked and microwaved food at other afro restaurantz. Definitely will go back next time I'm in Birmingham with my fam

The food was of good authentic quality with plenty to try and at reasonable prices too. Note that the menu online is out of date so they should update that. Drinks prices also very reasonable. Service could have been a little more organised and friendlier. Toilets were clean but they have a gap in the ceiling above for both genders so you can hear each other from the cubicles which I found weird. Overall we would visit again

This is literally the worst encounter I have ever had with anyone. They messed up my order and I called to let them know they gave me the wrong order. I told them I had driven out 1 hour and they said they can’t send a diver over to replace my order and I should come back next time and my order will be fixed. I proceeded to order from a different restaurant and trashed the wrong order. I was never told to bring back the wrong order in order for them to give me a refund or sort out my order. The next day I call again to let them know I am coming we spoke on the phone you messed up my order. I drove down to then be told I am lying and they won’t give me a refund or replace the wrong order. The owners were so rude I had 3 men shouting at me about their mistake. If I could give them zero stars I would. Please safe your money the customer service is in hell.

They take forever to get your food prepared and even then the presentation is just piss poor

The lady serving at this restaurant is by far one of the rudest people I've ever come across! She has ZERO customer care skill neither does she even have any interest in it. Since we arrived she barely even showed any interest in what we wanted neither did she ask. She wouldn't even engage you and when you asked her for anything it'll be as if you were bothering her. No smile, no conversation, or asking if we needed anything. When you ask her anything she just seemed so uninterested in what you're saying and if I might add, her dressing was quite inappropriate with half her breast in the open. The owner really needs to address this because it seems I'm not the only one that has pointed this out. Their food and drinks can also be quite expensive too. Definitely don't think I'll ever be coming back after this experience, not with rude stuff like her.

DON’T GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!Worse African restaurants in Birmingham, was very disappointed with my order and over all service of the restaurant/bar I order medium Tilapia costing £18 and it came with no sides so I was oblige to order extra sides ,the food took no longer then 10min to be prepared I was under the impression that it had been cooked previously and warmed up in the microwave , the fish it self tasted uncooked and the skin tasted bitter and there was no flavour I was very dissatisfied by the taste on the food and the money I had wasted , everything on the menu was over priced and quality / taste was second -class if not WORST… I asked for chilli sauce and they didn’t have any I was given a tomato like sauce , the only thing that tasted good that I order was the puff-puffs . Unless you want to waste your money and eat rubbish don’t go !!!

They serve you very fast, the food is nice but the food is too small not worth the price. So the management should increase their size. Their Toilet is very clean.

This is the third time I get a food that wasn't fresh. The last time I went there I asked for brochette and they said brochette was finished and suggested me goat meat which I took but the meat was not fresh and not tasty i asked the girl if the meat was fresh she said nothing. I am so disappointed with that. I went back home I had food poisoning reaction. I regret spending over £25 just to get food reaction.

Always delicious food and excellent service. My husband & I enjoy the large grill fish, puff puff and plantain. Today we tried the beef skewer was very good. My husband always takes ndole as take out. Thanks Klassic highly recommend 🎉❤️🙌🏽

If you want to pay 11 pounds for okra and get 3 pieces of meat then eat here…oh and 3:50 for delivery

Terrible!! Please just save your money. It is not worth it. The vegetable soup wasn’t it, and the jollof rice tasted terrible and looked black. Would not recommend a bit pricey. Overall not a great experience.

Very nice food, exotic drinks from Africa. I had a good time there with family.

I have been to this place 3 times. And it was a terrible experience every time. I give up, I will never step in there again. There is one lady at the counter that gave us attitude every time. We have given her feedback, but she kept giving us attitudes. Last time we requested to pack meats for take away, she just didn't care. We try to found out who the manager was, we ended up talking to the cook and had to leave without the meat because the lady didn't care to pack it. This right there is what discourages Africans to support African businesses. It's a shame.

We went there staff were nice but the food we were served was not fresh it looks like it was cooked for more than 4 days and they just microwave it. The meat didn’t taste nice. I had food poisoning for two days till now.except the food , staff were nice. It will be good if food are freshly served. Thanks

Ordered some veg soup with assorted meat and pounded yam and there was a long black hair in there and other little parts of hair. I was so disgusted. To top it off when I went and collected my food the girl was so rude, no experience of good customer service at all. Will not be wasted my money buying from there again!

Its a disappointment to me, it took more than 1 hour to be served poundo yam & Egunsi soup at the end, it was good enough. The service boy hygiene is zero, using napkin to wipe the floor at same time used same napkon to wipe the chairs. Its a sad experience

So from I called to make my order the bar woman was in a mood. She said 40 mins for my order I said ok. Arrived there 55 mins after playing my order. When I got there and repeated my order I was meet with attitude and told 5 mins wait. After 20 mins wait I asked how long as the order has been placed over 1 hr before. She ignored me, spoke to the kitchen staff in a different language and just carried on with her work. No reply. My food came 10 mins later. Everything was burnt when I got it home. I just decided to throw it away!! You people at Klassic, need customer service training!

Nice place and good costumers relationship just that they quite expensive but it's a cool place and the food is good as well.

Call me the order will be ready in 5-minutes 15 minutes later they told me that the order is going to be ready in 45 minutes

I made an order and was told 45 min, I got there 15 min late and my order still was not ready. I had to wait a further 45min pregnant, diabetic and with young children. I have been before and had no issues but that day there was a lady behind the till who was just careless. She never apologised once and had really poor attitude to the point she put me off from ordering from there. It’s ashame as I drive 60min to collect food from there and even do drop offs on my way back so my orders are £100 n more when I attend. Food is beautiful but the attitude was terrible!

I ordered a simple chicken and rice meal with fried dumplings to take away the order was ready after an hour and twenty minutes. I wouldn't have minded waiting if they were busy but there were only six people in the establishment and no one else was eating. When I got the food home which is literally across the road, the rice was in a carton of grease and was not joloff rice which I ordered. When I cut into the oddly shaped pieces of chicken the meat was red at the bone and uncooked thoroughly. I would not recommend and I will certainly never be going back. Management never respond to reviews.

Klassic Grill is a must visit for Africans who want to have a taste of food from back home, especially for Nigerians or Ghanians. The meals are quite affordable and worth every penny spent.

The grilled fish its not fresh cooked 😕

What they advertised on their menu and what they sent were completely different. I ordered assorted pepper soup and was sent tripe soup with 2 pieces of meat. I also ordered fried rice with assorted meat and I was sent oily rice with soggy vegetable and red stew made with either beef or mutton (Cannot tell the difference). I called the restaurant and I was told the chef would be informed about the assorted pepper soup and that they normally send red stew with their fried rice. The guy I spoke to even said he does not know why they have it as assorted meat on the menu because they always send red stew. I did not get an apology or any sort of compensation from the restaurant. UberEats on the other hand were amazing. They sent me a full refund of what I paid for. Thank you UberEats. It looks like you are the only ones that care about the customers. Klassic Grill restaurant only cares about its pockets. There is no point using deceit just to get customers to buy your food.

even though i was my first time trying this restaurant but sadly not be buying food from here again, i been having the worst stomach ache since Friday still recovering , i know i shouldn't of order from here when can't even spell jellof properly

Egusi is nice but the pepper soup is not. Pepper soup is done with only tripes no goat meat or assorted to enjoy. They have to improve on that or I don't order again

Found mainly a black long hair in my egusi plus from what it looks like blond hairs wich I dunno if was something that was added as some looked like actual hair wich made it not comforting to eat don't think I've seen it before in my previous orders u can tell they rely on the more expensive things on the menu to bring in profit as this egusi didnt look like upto scratch as when I first came to this place

I usually love the food and the portions are generous, however lately I've been very disappointed. The egusi soup was very oily and there was no meat just scrap pieces.

Great food BUT be aware the waiting time can be long. Order 1 hour before your anticipated time to eat. If you order on at the time you are hungry the wait will get you 😡.

I bought food from this restaurant whilst I was in Birmingham. I wish I could give them less than a star. Starting from the so called Jellof rice that had no taste..(my fault really cos the spelling itself should have rung alarm bells in my head). I also ordered veg soup with pounded yam (pounded yam priced at £2.50) not even enough for a toddler to think of an adult which the supposed meal was for. I called the restaurant as I was shocked when the order arrived and was told by the lady that apparently the pounded yam was designed in a way to be just enough for the egusi not for the person eating it.. This is absolutely shambles and zero respect for the owner's

After ordering and paying for our food, we waited 45mins. The staff were more concerned about their own food, which they decided to eat in the dining area. I asked how long for our food, they hadn’t started cooking. We asked for a refund. Their reply was “we don’t do refunds”. So we waited another half hour for our food. The food was good. We asked for complimentary food because we waited for so long. The staff reaction wasn’t good. The owner came out with dumplings which looked at least day old. When we got up to leave, staff told us that money was still owed (£4). Neither myself or my friend went to order anything extra. We ordered once. I could not understand why we owed money, we paid at the beginning. I decided to leave. I not paying extra for bad service. As me and my friend were walking to the car, group of 6 men approached us demanding money. One of the men grabbed my friend by the throat. We had to remind everyone that they were arguing over £4. That reaction was not justified. Everybody calm down and we got in our car and left. When I got home I checked my bank account, money was deducted for what I had ordered. Not happy with the service or attitude of the staff and I won’t be going again.

Ordered via Uber and absolutely shocking service. The food was 90 minutes late and said there was nothing they could do. Spoke to Uber over the phone who said the order wasn't ready yet so it is clearly an issue that their end. Very disappointed, definitely would not have ordered here has I known about the terrible service.

Awesome west African food, been there a couple of times for takeaway meals and I have to say I will definitely go again! Portions are generous and tasty, cooked with fresh ingredients. I recommend the suya and the Ndole as they are my favourites. Assorted meat pepper soup is fantastic too full of fragrant flavours. Staff is really nice and helpful always get things right. A hidden gem in Birmingham!

Ordered the medium talapia, grilled chicken, chips and plantain. The only thing that tasted nice was the plantain (it takes a fool to spoil fried plantain) everything else tasted absolutely nasty and couldn't be eaten. The talapia was bitter as it hadn't been cleaned properly and it was slightly burnt Ordered through Uber Eats. Waste of £33. NEVER AGAIN.

Over the course of 3 months, ordered take out meals from Klassic Food is definitely well done...ambience and presentation isnt fanciful however quality is great! Maybe only downside is fish and meat is slightly over grilled for my style despite repeatedly asking for a medium grill Overall, very good value for money..I ll recommend the Jollof rice or Pounded Yam and Egusi any day...the Yam and fish is also good!

Great service ! I have been there with my wife and we really enjoyed the food. Good ambiance with African song playing. The area is also a good location as it is easy to find a parking place close at any moment. I used their online service and was amazed by the good quality of the food, well conserve after driving 1h , quick collection , The food was still warm and delicious. I recommend this place with no hesitation.😊

Nice small Afrocarribean style restaurant good for a lot of sumptuous dishes. Also has several varieties of afrocarribean drinks. Only drawback is the average 20 to 30 minutes wait time for the food. Also has an ambient atmosphere and good music

Very friendly place. I understand from some reviews that it's not a five star establishment but it's a cosy and welcoming local bar/restaurant. Service was not fast, but tbf I went late on a very busy Friday night! I'll update my review once I've tried the food! When will you start a delivery service?

Nice and cheap place, first time trying an African restaurant. If you plan on going there, please ignore the dark settings it is opened hahaha the place is very very casual and the host/waiter is a nice guy, his customer service skills need improvement but he was okay. The food was also good

Really enjoyed my food... even though i had take away, I liked the environment of restaurant and will be back to eat in.

I gave a bad review before, but their service has been improved, so it's a 5 star for me now as their food is excellent. Definitely worth the wait. The spinach is so nice; I like that it's not that spicy so my tongue is happy. Their fish is great too, tender on the inside and grilled with lots of flavour on the outside.

We picked up a takeaway from here as the restaurant was full. We had to wait 40 minutes for our food (surely takeaway should be made priority over customers in the restaurant). The lady serving was friendly, and they took my number to call me when the food was ready. Sure enough it was ready exactly 40 minutes after we ordered. The egusi was good but had very little spice, it needed to be hotter. It also had only goat, and not mixed meat. The jollof was tasty, but not like any jollof I’ve eaten or cooked before, and again not very spicy. I had to add the pot of chilli sauce that came with it. I’d order it again though! The Nyama Choma (barbecued goat meat) was tasty and tender, the best of all the food we tasted from Klassic. The restaurant is small and, on this occasion, was packed with families. If they can sort out the long waiting time for takeaways we will definitely visit again.

The food is very different (to not say disgusting) for Western European taste buds. Ordered bobolo I think it´s called (sour tasting jellied tapioca) and egusi soup (this is NOT soup, it´s a mass of stuff that smells and tastes kinda bad). Wanted to try something I´ve never had before though, so that´s on me. The place is quite dark and depressing. In addition, had to wait for more than 1 hour for the food, while watching soccer on TV.

Long wait for food which is ok if we got what we ordered and paid for. Got home to find that we did not have the Yam that we ordered. Not happy. Rice and Plaintin was lovely but Meat was tough. Had to bin it.

I had never been here before but was recommended to try it by a friend. We called ahead and was told they were shortly closing but the could prepare a takeaway/collection for us(very accommodating) we ordered the and grilled goat and chicken I with plantain. I am Jamaican so I didnt think goat could be so nice unless it was curried down for hours in a dutchie (lol) The flavour was great and the chicken was moist and flavorful, almost similar to Jerk chicken. Service was quick and food packaged so it was still pipping hot when we got home. I will come back again.

If you are a Nigerian, pls don't bother yourself to come here, you might be fine if you are a Cameroonian. I ordered vegetable soup, edikaikong soup, and meat pepper soup - as for me the food is not okay. The owner might need to employ Nigerian cook/chef.

I'd strongly advise you avoid this place. It operates more like a dive bar rather than a restaurant, not that I'd go there for drinks either since they're range is tiny with 2-3 bottled beers and basic spirits. I went with my partner and family as they were visiting Birmingham and keen to go to an African restaurant. There was only one table of 4 free when we arrived so they added two more chairs for us - we should have read this as a warning and left. We ordered and waited 1 hour 15 minutes for our food. This was with us chasing this 3-4 times and being told it would be 10-15 minutes each time (lies). We joked as a group about how the slow wait made the place authenticity African - if we didn't laugh we honestly would have cried from being so hungry waiting! The food itself wasn't worth the wait. We ordered different things, the grilled goat being the best and grilled fish easily the worst as it had too many bones and was overcooked so crispy and dry. The dumplings were good too but I can't recommend anything as I wouldn't wish a visit to this place on anyone. It seems like the owner knows a lot of the customers so that must be the only thing keeping them in business. The regulars are likely those giving the place good reviews as we went by google reviews before visiting.

The African cuisine there is 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾. Whenever I go there I order grilled fish, my oh my 😋😋😋, the way they grill it is top of the range. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who fancies African cuisine.

Please don’t go to this place, my goodness the food is so horrible, is there a way I can give -0 rating for this restaurant? So I ordered for grilled fish, plantain and vegetable, the grilled fish is so terrible that I wonder how heartless these people are for selling bad food to people, the fish is not only terrible but also pricey, by far the worst food have ever had in my entire life. I thought I would compensate myself with the vegetable, but the vegetable is even worse, I had to throw both food in the bin, the only thing I ate was the plantain, it would have been disaster if am not able to eat the plantain given that plantain is one of the easiest food to make. Total waste of money and time. Please stay aware from them.
