Very friendly and caring staff who are always willing to help in any way they can. It has a great range of sandwiches to choose from, I especially like the toasted ones. If sandwiches don’t take your fancy then there is also salads and lots of tasty bites. The cookies are to die for.

I have ordered a Kitchen Buffet previously and always been pleased with quality and amount provided but this time was very disappointed by the amount of cake included. Today I collected my £8 per person buffet for 6 people and got 16 very small pieces of cake included. . Was sure this was a mistake so contacted the shop to be told the amount was correct. Apparently for a £8 per person buffet for 6 people you get 4 cakes cut up. To say i was disappointed was a understatement. In fainessthe Sandwiches and savories look nice .

Before visiting we checked the opening times for a Saturday which on the website state 4pm on Google it states 5pm. We arrived at 3pm and entered a shop that looked like it was about to close as staff were cleaning up and the shelves were bare. Very disappointed as we travelled especially to grab a late lunch and to avoid the rush. Sandwich orders stop at 3pm yes... but there was nothing else apart from some very dry looking pastry and cakes. Nothing on the take out menu was available not even a iced coffee as they had cleaned the machine. My point being opening times should be correct. Will not be returning a very poor first impression.

We had another fantastic lunch at this great tearoom. The service was excellent and the food was a very high standard as expected. We had BLT and ham, cheddar and piccalilli sandwiches with Yorkshire Blue, smoked bacon and chive dirty wedges. All that can be said is it was all delicious! The atmosphere here is always great and it is a real dining experience. We bought portions of cake to take home in the shop on the way out. You must visit this place if in the Howden area!

I’m a regular at the kitchen but it wasn’t untilToday when I took my daughter and her 3 friends for hot chocolates and nibbles that I found myself amazed by the kitchen. The kids aged 6-10 didn’t want anything big so I went to the counter to choose a few things eg: 2 x sausages rolls labelled £1-10 each. -1 x Cheese straw. 1 x Small pork pie @£2.25 and a sweet chilli sausage rolls same price. The girls shared and I asked for the bill. £35!!!! When I looked i was charged £4 for the sauasages rolls. When o asked the waitress she advised that it’s the charge for eating in. I was flabbergasted.£2.90 per item each to sit in and eat?? Then we had a take our salad bowl. £10 eat in or £5 take out. Again I asked the waitress. She advised it’s also the things they came with ..... a tiny dish of tomato ketchup?? I can honestly say. I shall never ever eat in there every again. How can people label one price and charge another. A service charge you expect In high end restaurants of about 10-15% but not be charge double the amount for each item. Fast food restaurants charge about 40p to eat in ...I’m still completely flabbergasted about it. The foods ok. But nothing special. Not one to have a moan but this is just crazy!!!!

We arrived in Snaith to find there were no car parks, only roadside parking for just one hour. We waited for a table, waited even longer to order, then waited longer still for the food to arrive. Only half an hour left. Sitting right next to the toilet door, we found the food to be separated into silly little pots and served on a wooden board. What's wrong with plates? The drinks were a joke. Half full jam jars with floating fruit and melon wedge tops. Two sucks on my straw and it was gone. They'd run out of bread and got my wife's order wrong. We had to quickly pay and dash out to the car before the traffic warden arrived. "They're pretty keen round here" we were told. It's not very nice eating a meal with one eye on your watch. Won't be returning.

After being recommended by a friend I had to try the afternoon tea from The Kitchen. It is absolutely beautiful! The sandwiches are better than any afternoon I’ve ever tried with salmon and cream cheese, cheese and tomato chutney and ham and caramelised onion. The sandwiches are full to bursting with the filling, and the cakes are gorgeous. The price is insane at £18.95 for 2 people. They could definitely charge more for this as it is faultless. We went out to eat recently and this has never happened to me before, but by the time we got there, it had been nearly 4 hours since I had eaten, I thought no big deal. There really wasn't a long wait for food, but Samantha (our server) noticed my hands shaking and at her suggestion brought a bite size portion of millionaire shortbread over to sort my blood sugar out. She was a superstar and went above and beyond. The food we ordered was truly awesome as always and we thoroughly enjoyed the day and took lots of delicious cakes home with us for later as we were to full for dessert! So after reading all the reviews of the KITCHEN at both Howden and Snaith, we decided on the extra 10 minute drive to Snaith as we expected Howden would still be queuing at 1.30pmGot that right because we were seated immediately only to be told by a bubbly waitress,'We have no beef, salmon or prawns left for sandwiches' I will have soup then, said I, 'sorry its all gone' was the reply, oh how about a cream tea? 'well yes you can have that but without cream'So we both had a couple of scones butter and jam with a pot of tea and a few nibbles to keep us both going. So the moral of the story is get there before 2pm however, the offerings at the deli all looked fantastic and certainly emptied my wifes' purse.Yes there where many other items on the menu and probably very nice too if available!

After years of venturing to this cafe and enjoying the service and food I was thoroughly disappointed after my visit yesterday. The service from the girl who served was lovely. However, my boyfriend ordered the frittata salad only to discover, once they had brought us a different meal (my guess is in the hopes we didn't notice), that they didn't have the frittata in that day- the waitress telling us bluntly 'we don't even have frittata'. How were we meant to know?? Anyway having my meal in front of me going cold we waited while my boyfriend's second choice of food came- the fodder board. Now, the fodder board is wrongly advertised claiming you get a sandwich along with a 'pork pie' and a 'scotch egg' both just slivers (not even quarters)!! After all this no discount and only an apology from our original server were given. I will not be returning in a hurry, such a shame.

My wife and I had a cheeky lunch at the 'Kitchen Tea Room' in Snaith and it really was a treat. The sandwiches we had were super fresh and nicely proportioned, and the range of fresh baked cakes and desserts were to die for (we took a box load home, the Malteser Cheesecake I had was simply amazing). We had a cream tea which was nice but the one comment I have is that a cream tea MUST come with clotted cream, not whipped cream (possibly out of a can), as anything else is simply criminal. Cream-gate aside this fabulous tea room still gets an excellent rating from me.

My chicken and bacon caesar salad bowl was delicious, I ate every morsel and wiped the plate clean with the delicious onion bread roll that I didn't intend to eat but couldn't resist once I'd tasted it. My only concern - how am I going to work my way through all the items on that menu?!

I visited with my Sister who had sampled items from the takeaway menu prior. We received a lovely warm welcome and were both mesmorised with the choice. I chose the Special of Spiced Chicken, Chorizo, Spicey cheese and chilli jam toastie. It was wonderful and it was a meal in itself. I would not normally pay £8.50 for a toastie but this was no ordinary toastie and came with salad from the deli and coleslaw. My Sister's choice of Eggy Bread with Smoked Applewood Cheddar and bacon also went down well. Of course we had to take home some cakes as we were bursting at the seams. All the food looked top notch and the waitress and counter service excellent.

I have eaten here many times, both dinner and breakfast, and have ordered some take out snacks too. The quality is absolutely unrivalled and you really do get what you pay for portion size- great quality too! Sometimes you have to wait a while for a table, but it's most definitely worth the wait!

We have had several different things here but the Baked in the Box Cambembert, with Breads & Chutney for dipping is amazing.

Often pop in here to get lunch. The food is absolutely lovely, the variety of what you can eat makes a great change. Staff are busy yet helpful. If you can, make room for the cakes - or share!

I went to the kitchen for my birthday lunch and it was brilliant - and comes highly recommended. The food is absolutely incredible. We ordered the salmon and prawn sandwich and the beef sandwich, and for desert red velvet cake and a cheesecake. The portion sizes are larger than expected and filling and ever so tasty. I've seen comments where people believe it's overpriced but trust me it isn't, you pay for good quality food and service. The food is presented beautifully. My desert was very large and was boxed up so I could enjoy the rest of it that evening. The service is brilliant. The staff are friendly and communicate well. Although serving other customers the waitress we had was brilliant, very enthusiastic and always smiling and it's nice to see that as a customer. I can see it gets very busy but the customer service never faltered with us. I would say if you want a table - get there for approx 11.45am. We didn't book and were seated straight away luckily. We took home some sausage rolls and the homemade humous- delicious. I will definitely return and thankyou for fantastic service and wonderful food.

We popped in at 1pm, and decided to explore the village as there was a long queue to be seated. Coming back 45 mins later we were seated immediately, but very glad we hadn't queued! The extensive and attractive looking menu is very poor for vegetarians - even the 3 or 4 items that might otherwise have been veggie had had chorizo, bacon or salami added! Yes, we could have ordered them "without", but why should we pay over the odds, and be made to feel like second-class citizens? Afraid we decided to look for lunch elsewhere. Definitely a case of "could (and should) do better!!

We visited & had a 10 minute wait for a table, but our waitress kept us up to date with how long we would be. She took our drinks order straight away & it arrived quickly. Even though we were told there was a wait for food, our order of sandwiches came quicker than we thought....& they were delicious. Packed full of filling & flavour with lovely bread. Every plate that came out the kitchen looked absolutely delicious. This cafe is smaller than its sister in howden, but had a more intimate, warm atmosphere. I will definitely be going back (& the cakes to take away were lovely....the Easter brownie=yummy yummy)

A spur of the moment decision to call in for a quick snack. Very pleasant premises and staff. Very nice tea and cake (frangipane and hot X bun) which we enjoyed. A nearby table was having the full afternoon tea which looked very impressive.

Call in here from time to time for a sandwich at lunch time. They have a fantastic range of sandwiches, pastries and cakes, all of which seem to be made with good quality ingredients. It isn't cheap, the cold drinks from the fridge are a rip off I think and at times if the shop is busy things get a bit rushed. Best to try just before the main lunch time rush. I called in a few months back with my other half and we ate in the restaurant part. The food was great, service not bad but the atmosphere that day was a little bizarre...all the other diners were whispering at it seemed a bit odd, however it didn't stop us enjoying the lovely food. By the way..... if you nip in for a sandwich, don't leave until you've bought a slice of their home made battenburg. It's amazing. Not cheap at £2.50 a slice but worth every penny.

Stuck a pin in a ( google) map to find a breakfast one hour away from leaving holiday accommodation. What a find. Interesting decor showed off the home made cakes and savouries whilst we waited a few minutes for a table. Breakfast avocado with poached eggs on sourdough bread, sun dried tomatoes, chorizo and pea shoots was divine and substantial. Staff were friendly and obviously enjoyed serving and cooking as much as we enjoyed eating. Make a detour. Worth every mile and every penny.

A gem of a cafe, lovely staff, quality food. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, even making up a takeaway salad box and a sandwich to be collected later. Plus the cafe is dog friendly....

We visited over Easter and loved all the little chocolate eggs hidden around the cafe - kept the kids entertained whilst they waited for their food! Lovely cafe with a great menu. We ordered a range of different food but loved the halloumi burger and cheeseburger especially. It’s great that dogs are allowed in this cafe but as we don’t own a dog, even better that there are two areas - one for dogs and one where dogs aren’t allowed. Service was quick and with a smile, reasonably priced too for restaurant quality food. The only improvement needed is the toilet area - could do with a update!

I don’t often go into bakery shops but we were visiting Driffield today and spotted that there was a small seating area inside at the front of the shop and a larger area further in. We were ready for coffee and a snack The shop is obviously very popular as I had to join the queue but it gave me the opportunity to look at what was on offer. Vastly superior quality to what is available in other chain bakery shops and very well priced. I don’t eat bread but the sandwiches were definitely calling to me!😹
