A tart or crumble with coffee or tea was all I needed to sustain me when I went to the National to see a play. Satisfying and tasty, the food here is of high quality and reasonably priced. Go early as seating gets scarce the closer the time is for the performance to start.

Nice sandwiches, nice crisps and so forth, fizzy water, then a pack of sweets each, sitting at one of the communal tables on the ground floor, just what we wanted. Very nice. I am glad there is this quick and relatively cheap option at the National. Small Island, by the way, is superb. Take paper hankies, wear waterproof mascara.

Convenient when grabbing a snack before the theatre. Snacks, cakes and meals available. Good when you don't have much time.

A very good value menu considering the location right next to the beautiful river Thames, with live music and nice wines. Great service and very relaxed atmosphere.

Arrived at the National Theatre with 45 minutes to go before the play. This almost self service restaurant is excellent, very clean and great tasting food. We had the wild mushroom pasta which came quickly and was very good. coffee is hot and tastes good too. Not a place to linger but you should go if you haven't got much time. No wait staff but lots of people clearing up.

Did not want a sandwich at the Dorfman cafe before the show so this was the perfect option for warm food. It is self-serve and fast. It was a beautiful summer evening with people sitting outside consequently there was plenty of seating at the community tables inside. Enjoyed a delicious fish pie with minty peas and a cup of Earl Grey tea for just under 10 pounds.

Good fastish food with tasty choices served with a friendly smile. Sometime queues are longish but normally from 6.30pm-7.30pm. More subdued lighting away from serving and main starker area, although smell of fish lingers there too unfortunately. Crab cakes very good with corn relish £7.50 and thin steak and sweet potato chips good too. Wine can be bought at the Kitchen or from NT bar on ground floor which can save queuing for too long. Various pickles, preserves and goodies can be bought from the Kitchen too.

Overpriced and portions have become ridiculously small. Pancakes were disappointing too. Edit (to reply to the owner’s comment below): I wouldn’t normally give 1 as I want to support small businesses

Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had in London served piping hot and of excellent quality. Choice of batter or matzo meal coating, or grilled fish. All our party enjoyed their meals.
