Kingston Food Centre in Kingston upon Thames

It’s really overpriced and the quality has significantly dropped. I won’t be making a visit there again.

This is one of the best things that happened to North Kingston in years. Lots of plump fresh fruit with a great range, fresh Middle Eastern pastries, and a range of exotic groceries. Recently I bought some peaches because the SMELL of them grabbed my attention as I walked by. How often does that happen to you in London?

I've been going to this wonderful Turkish shop for a while now, and I can't recommend it enough! Zeinab, Mustafa, the friendly faces behind the counter, are always welcoming and make you feel like part of the family. Their warmth and hospitality bring a touch of that rich Middle Eastern culture to our community, which makes the shopping experience so special. A quick message to Zeinab: "I am not turkish! I only look similar to your heritage! lol

It is a large market where you can find every kind of product you are looking for. Especially the fact that it has Turkish employees and Ms. Zeynep's smiling face and help with the product you cannot find makes this place more preferable among other markets.

Convenient shop with great staff I love this shop, specially the butcher section. They have the best lamb chops. Last time I went, I told the man I needed them for a dinner party and he decided to cut a fresh batch just for me, is that excellent customer service or what? They have a great selection of drinks and spices and the shop is always very clean and tidy. Staff is constantly stocking up. Love the till ladies, they are so sweet and always smile, specially Zeynep. I don’t know who owns this shop but it very much feels like family owned, it’s very cozy. You have to try it

Really clean shop, fresh food every day. I love the albanian products especially golden eagle. Zainab is a lovely cashier and she always knows what i need without me having to tell her. She always makes me laugh. All the staff are also nice. Thank you.

My favorite market in Kingston. All the employees are very friendly and helpful. The fruits and vegetables are much fresher than other markets. It is also one of the few places in Kingston that sells halal and good meat.I definitely recommend you to visit.

I love shopping here. Every day I go to purchase my bar of Milka chocolate, and Zeynep always serves me with a smile. She is so hard working, and I feel should be paid double what she gets. Maybe even triple. One day Zeynep could be manager of this place, and possibly even the Queen of Kingston!

Good choice of food and meat, esp. hard to get products like Turkish coffee. All staff are very friendly and helpful esp. Zeinab on the till who is particulary nice, a real asset to the team!

This is a really good place with loads of varieties from fresh fruit and vegetables to bakeries. There hasn’t been one a single time where I couldn’t get what I was looking for. It is one of my favourite shops with excellent customer service. Staff are always helpful and friendly. Cashier Zeynep is simply the best though. Thank you 👏👏🌸

A market where you can find everything you are looking for. fruits and vegetables are fresh. The interior is clean, the shelves are tidy. Especially the smiling face and attention of the young staff, Ms. Zeynep, makes me come here☺️ I recommend it to everyone.

I shop here often, the foods there is great and bakery is always fresh the staff are very helpful and welcoming but the at the lady at the till stands out the most! Such a lovely worker!!!

Really disappointed today. I bought some beef ribs and they are not fresh at all. They smell really bad and I cannot eat them. I could get poisoned. I spent 20£ for 3. That is not fair.

Fruit is good. Bakery is unfortunately flavourless and stale.

I used to be regular customer but is quite frustrating that every morning there is Noone on the till and you have to wait for hours for someone to come to the till although the man who is supposed to be at the till sees you. Also is quite overpriced especially lately

We bought 1.5 kg of cookie and a watermelon. The watermelon tastes very bad. The dry pastries are stale. The employees are very slow. They made us wait quite a bit until we got out of the store for just 2 items. It's a terrible place. They don't answer their phones. I never plan to go there again.

I hope the manager will see all the reviews. Please avoid. They really too expensive. Save your money and shop somewhere eles . £18.90 for lamb rips . While other butcher only charge £13.00 very unfair

Prices for fruit and veg on display have nothing in common to what you would be charged at the till. I find it unacceptable. Bakery not as good as other places.

My son saw a double charge and subsequently asked for a receipt. Well what a surprise that before totally the charge the cashier had to manually update the amount.

Possibly the most expensive Turkish shop in London if not the UK. You will pay at least 30% on top. Some prices are very unreasonable. Other than that, it is a nice place with lots of items.

I bought two pieces of cake and when I got home I noticed that the cakes were expired.

Bought T-Bone today at 11am. Brought it home, got it on the counter to return to room temp for cooking. 3h later unpacked it to cook, maggots were coming out of it. Disgusting. £21 for a kilo of T Bone clearly to good to be true.

V convenient and good selection. Just check the use by dates... I would also like them to improve their hygiene when handling raw meat especially chicken. The meat is good quality though. Great fruit and veg selection. Best tomatoes in Kingston. Terrific for Mediterranean selection eg honey, olive oil, yoghurt, cheese etc.

On 05/06/23 I visited your shop and purchased meat and couple slice of cakes. I trusted that your bakery would provide fresh and delicious products. However, when we tried cakes, we discovered that the cakes had expired as their were cream taste bitter, biscuits was a bit hard. The expiry date printed by staff and put on the packaging was 06/06/23 . However I do not think that these were not fit for consumption as staff can make mistake and not checking dates. As a customer, I find this situation unacceptable, as it poses health risks and violates the trust I have placed in your establishment. Consuming expired food items can lead to various health issues, and it is crucial that proper quality control measures are in place to prevent such incidents. I urge you to investigate this matter thoroughly and take immediate action to rectify the situation. I am worry about meat now which I bought .

Jam packed with Middle Eastern fare, liked the bakery especially. My spinach and feta borek went down a treat.

Be super careful what you’re buying in this shop - many items are sold days after use by date! Especially the cheese, salads etc. Also, as others suggested make sure you check the price on the item/displayed vs on the till.

Great variety of food at good value

Excellent selection of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean foods, as well as some Polish stuff. A bit pricey, but has some products I have not been able to find elsewhere.

Great selection of European foods including fresh fruit/vegetables, sweets, meats, olives, cheeses, frozen foods and snacks. A bit on the pricier side but you tend to see this with imported foods. Clean venue and staff are polite.

Likely to find most things you are looking for. Fresh fruit and vegetables are excellent. Great general store with a good selection of food, though some of items a more expensive when compared with equivalent stores in Hounslow. Close to bus and train station and Cadbury's car park.

I find it a pity that there are so many varieties of fruits and vegetables, and the price is not displayed on them, and I also find that the products are very expensive compared to others in the Turkish shop.

This place was a real destination for me. Until today. Apparently it’s ok if you know people at the till for you walk to the front of a queue and have your products scanned. Very strange non- community experience.

There seems to be a problem with their cakes ?? The last couple of times I bought maamools biscuits , they had an awful rancid smell and disgusting taste ??? It is a shame as they used to be really good . The young guy at the meat counter is nice and polite and meat is usually good but avoid the fresh biscuits !!! I agree with some of the comments about some of the staff’s behaviour , you do not feel welcome at this store .

I've been purchasing meat from here since over a year now , very clean and tidy shop , the gentleman called Aziz is a very friendly and polite man at the butchery , with excellent customer service . Meat is always fresh . And the lady at the tills called Fatos is very friendly lady who will always serve you with a smile and very helpful , she always gives excellent service.

Some staff are polite but others (male) strut around the store shouting to one another, bumping into you without apology. I used to buy some of the fruit and veg from inside the store, but now they've moved it all outside, will no longer be buying. The store is on one of the busiest junctions in Kingston, and any food outside will be getting spayed with diesel and petrol fumes for over 12 hours a day.

A wonderful with market, with a butcher, deli(with the most delicious olives) and a variety of freshly baked breads,cakes and bakery treats. Plus lots of exotic fruit and veg.

Careful what you're buying from here. We bought a burrata which was expired and then an eggplant dip which gave us food poisoning.

The shop has a good variety of products. You can find a lot of Italian/Turkish/Greek products. Be careful when you buy fresh fruit and vegetables. It's weighed and charged for at the till.Several times they charged me a different price from the one displayed or for a different (more expensive) variety. Conveniently they never happened to pick a cheaper option. They have a confectionery counter with baklava and other cakes. The employee there could not speak English at all,and it is impossible to ask questions ( and get answers). I am a foreigner myself, but this was beyond acceptable. Their fruit and veg selection is amazing but often pricey and goes off very quickly or is already rotten inside when you open it.They use far too much plastic too (especially at the butcher's). The staff is often rude and fails to apologise when hating lengthy conversations in a different language in front of other customers.

Poor customer service. I had to wait 10 mn for a butcher to come and serve us. When he finally came he was loudly chatting from afar with one if his friend. He finally enquired for our order and immediately went to serve pastries to his friend without even a word towards us. We silently left. This is unacceptable I’d rather pay more and have a proper service. Luckily the Brazilian butcher was open and has excellent meat and manners!

The bakery items are to die for. A lot of nice options for cheese and a great range of frozen stuff. Prices could be a bit friendlier and I'd love more options of low-fat yoghurt.

A nice venue with friendly staff but the pizzas were doughy, cheesy, small and pricy.

A brilliant range of products that serve as a more interesting alternative to the big supermarket alternatives. You’ll always be surprised by what you can find, and the staff are always up to talk- especially if you can drop a word or two or Turkish… Highly recommend you to pop your head in and see what you can find.

Just for the fact that they have a nice meat counter, a good variety of vegetables AND they’re open until 11pm every night, including Sundays, I’m rating them a 5. I especially like the feel, it’s not like shopping at a big chain.

I purchased a couple of things here, the salami was old and rancid…disappointed as a small piece cost me £10.

The groceries from my stomach are asking me to take them back to the shop. I think I have a delivery point at home🚽

This place has everything under the sun when it comes to Turkish goods and a very good selection of other Middle Eastern and Eastern European stuff. Spotlessly clean. Good butcher counter. Glad I found it, glad it's there.

Lack of manners, unreasonably high prices no receipts provided unless you ask and cashier will have poker face. You should be asking customer if they need receipt for least. I guess its to hide their over charing

Brilliant! Huge selection of Eastern and central European foods,fresh and good quality meats, polish,greek and hungarian chorizo,sausages and pork bellies,bacon's,sour creams,butters,cheeses etc... Start with the positive: the shop is clean, the products ( fruits, vegetables and meat) are fresh and good quality. So are the other products. However The problem is with the staff, specially the cashiers, constantly getting overcharged, sometimes one product gets scanned twice, or they ignore the offers on the fruits, and put in the original price. We all make mistakes, but this keeps happening. Pls sort it out, because you have an amazing shop. **** had to take one more star off , after few days ago when I visited this shop again and the cashier wasn’t aware of the prices of their own products, and acted as if I changed the prices of the products, and only once the manager was called he told her that that’s actually the price.

A meat are very good here, but never buy vegetables here. The price is very crazy expensive and the checkout man cheating with the article price. Today I bught red pepper but he gave the price for red cap. £5,49/kg. So, I paid £1.51 for one red pepper. It is haram to cheat the customers. No blessing from Allah to your business. DON'T BUY VEGETABLES HERE!!!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!! PLEASE ASK THE RECEIPT BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE SHOP, AND CHECK ALL THE PRICE... !!!!!!

Organised, Clean & Staff are very helpful and attentive.

This food centre is just what kingston needed! There is a lack of seasoning for ethnic people and that problem is solved here! They stock traditional Southern Asian and Jamaican seasonings as well as so much more!

It can get very busy and the isles are narrow, but asides from that it is great foreign produce at great prices. Would recommend the Baklava.
