The food was cold when arrived the shredded chicken was chewy and didn’t taste nice at all and then when I called to complain the women was nothing but rude and told me she can’t do nothing about it

If I could rate no starts…. I would. We placed an order via just eat as a little treat for moving into our first home. Spent £46 on food to not receive it. The restaurant called me to say their driver couldn’t get a hold of me or find out house in an abrupt way. Once through to the driver, I tried to explain to him where the house was, sending him my location via text for Apple Maps, google maps and Waze. He kept telling me ‘not show, I can’t come’. I then offered to meet him somewhere, to which he gave me a 5 minute time frame but when sending his location he was over 10 minutes away. ‘I give 5 minutes or I leave’ he said. After this, he was rude and kept accusing me of giving the wrong address… he then wouldn’t answer the phone so I called the restaurant who was absolutely useless and kept cutting the phone off on me. When calling the restaurant back, he put the driver on the phone who began to shout down the phone at me, calling me a liar and telling me it’s my fault etc. To be honest, the service from this restaurant is absolutely appalling and the way they speak and treat to customers is disgusting. We paid £46 for food, got no food, or refund. Just abuse. AVOID!

I ordered at 11.11 bare in mind they close at 12, I waited up till 3am and spend £93 on food for no one to come and they lied on the uber app saying it would turn up at 12:20 latest, what a joke! Don't order from this place bunch of jokemen

Absolutely awful order on there website had no conformation £26 come out my bank and when I called the restaurant they said call bank call bank website not are fault Absolute rats

I have tried several other Chinese restaurants with the meal, King prawn fried rice and non makes it as good as these people. My partner & I resorted to settle for them despite the distance because others are not at all a competition. The size of the prawn & how generous they are with it makes us & the kids happy. I reserve the 1 star because there is no discount or delivery concessions for long-customers. I started buying from them 3 yrs ago when the rice was £6 & it now £7.20, yet I have to pay £1 delivery fee even if I am buying things > £15, no discount of any sort except prawn crackers. I have even introduced my colleagues at work to them that , when we are night duty & want a take-away, I order items worth over £40 on their behalf yet no credit.This I mentioned to them but they ‘re strong on doing nothing. I personally think it's rude & not a customer friendly business.

I've been ordering from here for years. The guy on the phone is pretty abrupt but the food is always spot on. Delivery is always quick too.

We ordered from this place via just eat and as we were dishing out we found an insect in the food which was obviously disgusting. We called the place and we were met with a rude person on the phone who told us they have no bugs there, we told him this insect looks like it's been cooked and was dead and he left the phone then after a few minutes hung up on us . Please do not order from here is it unsanitary and terrible service

Placed a order through Just Eat they sent wrong items contacted Kings House. They did not make it easy they offered a replacement then told me a couple of hours. I was then offered a partial refund. Told I would need to contact Just Eat. It as taken me 2 days to get Just Eat to refund the difference. Which could have easily been solved by Kings House.

Waited 2 hours for delivery for 3 items when it got here was cold we phoned up 4 times asking where the food was the lady on the phone was very rude they sent another order out for us as food was cold and we had to wait another hour for more cold food worse Chinese by far please do not order from here

The mobile number they have on UberEats belongs to some poor lassie in the North of Scotland! She's had approximately 200 calls from unhappy customers looking for food, or complaining about food! Absolute shambles!

Used this chinese for four years. Always amazing, fresh and not greasy. Last 2 times have been late, cold and tasteless food. Will be on the look out for a new regular.

Omg I ordered a couple off weeks ago even thou I’ve ordered a few time from them I’m very very angry with them on one off my latest orders I had glass in m dish yes glass be aware they do not care if there is something wrong or you hurt your gums with glass or get food poisoning stay away will never order again beware do not order

Their food hygiene rating was given in 2019 and is inaccurate to the current standards. Compared to the previously rated 5 it should be rated 2 as the food safety is poor - I received stale food. Do not recommend.

Worst experience ever! Ordered on Deliveroo. Extremely rude owner shouting down the phone when I called him to ask where my order was. Food never came. The rudeness of the owner was unforgettable . Please do not order from this place, there are other Chinese shops.

i ordered throught the uber eats app at 10:30 at night and midnight comes round and still no food i tried calling to no hope just left it ringing

This was honestly the worst ordering/delivery I have ever experienced. We ordered through an app which gave us a delivery time of an hour, which was fine. After the hour we tried to contact the restaurant, but couldn't get through - the mobile number on the app doesn't belong to the restaurant, so we called the landline and it was either busy or the manager picked up and immediately hung up. On the calls that he actually spoke to us (4 out of 24), he said our delivery times were 15 mins / 10 mins each time. It got to the point where we'd been waiting for nearly 2 hours, we tried to cancel the order - this was when the manager yelled at us down the phone, told us to "shut up" and then left the phone on the side with the line connected and ignored us while he took other calls. So we called back and tried to speak to him again and he hung up on us. When the delivery driver eventually got here (2 hours and 20 mins after we'd ordered), we asked him when he'd picked up, to which he said he'd only just picked up 15 minutes before. The manager had lied to us every time we spoke to him, the food was never on its way, it hadn't even been prepared! If I could leave 0/5 I would. I wouldn't ever order or eat from this restaurant again - I would also strongly discourage others as well!

King house staff offer me replacement of food if I change what I put about them on the food review I said send me the food and if it ok I would. The order came And the food look discussing Tryed ringing the takeaway place and the staff member I spoke to was being very rude aggressive and keep putting the phone done on me There don't listen to what I had to say keep shouting screaming down the phone this place is not run by nice people there have no customer service skills. Your BBQ ribs are normally a bit dry, but tonight's was the last straw or was it wood because that's what they tasted like, Kings House sort your Ribs out!!

Ordered from their website and when we tried it, it tasted NOTHING like authentic chinese food. The beef was so hard and salty, the king prawn in garlic sauce was SO SOUR. Does not taste legit at all. The chinese restaurants in london are wayyy better. Do not recommend!!!

The only Chinese we ever order from and always recommend to others in southampton looking for one. We've never had a bad dish from there. Always arrives in good time as well. Portions are massive and I think it's good value too. Its so hard to choose from the volume available in a city but I'm so glad we found Kings House. We've been using it for several years now

I travel all over the country and use Just eat a lot. The original Chinese wouldn’t deliver to my hotel but this one would. It was only after ordering that I saw it had mixed reviews. I was ordering for 4 people. This food was delivered on time, was hot, and everybody said how much they enjoyed it. Believe me, I’ve had a lot worse Chinese takeaways than this.

I ordered from their website and got charged but almost immediately the order got cancelled. its been over a week and I still haven't received a refund from them. I have contacted them in several times only to be told someone would call me back and I am still waiting.

Cheap food, but appalling service. Front of house has been rude and aggressive. Avoid at all costs.

Even though my Order came quickly it wasn’t really nice the prawn curry tasted really funky and the prawns were really rubbery the chowmein was dry and boring no flavour to speak off the only thing that tasted ok was the prawn crackers won’t be going there again .

Such a shame that the chef smothered everything in far too much salt, to the point where the food was acidic and not edible.

Thinks it close or could be worst chinese i have ever had 33.70 no free dish:meat was dry.chicken ball batter soggy chicken dry.special chow mein tasteless meat dry.curry sauce tasteless generic not nice.mix plater skewer chicken nice well marinated and well cooked ribs dry.mini pancake roll nice.spring roll horrible earthy taste to many bean sprout.

I have phoned up to ask a simple question of "what is the vegetarian duck made out of" to e spoke to rude and get the phone put down on me twice instead of just saying "I don't know"

After going in several take aways and restaurants this was the only take away to have clear allergen information. Some other places on the same strip when i said Milk allergy, showed me where the Milkshakes were on the menu. Another gave me a menu and said sorry we only have this menu. The menu allowed me to easily select the meals we could eat and then I double checked with the guy serving who was knowledgable on how everything was made to know what was in it. More places should just take more care like this on creating their menus - very simple and less stress for the server or the customer asking.

Top place, top food, great menu and good customer service. Always use Kings House and always will do. The flavour of each meal is so nice you want it again.

Really surprised at the low rating, this is by far the best chinese in southampton and i’ve tried quite a few!! Great food, cooked really well, ribs are good, chicken in black pepper sauce is amazing!! Speedy delivery plus if you order in the actual website instead of justeat it will be cheaper!!

Delicious Chinese! Easily our favourite in Southampton. We often have the duck, crispy beef or sweet and sour pork. We have this delivered by just eat (live in Woolston) and it's always pretty quick, never late as far as I'm aware! Really recommended!

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS....I am still wondering what happened to my £28. I mistakenly ordered food and later got to know that I stayed too far from kings house. I cancelled the order and requested for my money but they wouldn't return my money to me. They will quickly cut my call when I ring and wouldn't answer my emails to them. I am still waiting for my money.......

This place is a joke. Ordered £40 worth of food which has not arrived. I swear the phone is not even connected either so we can’t get through to anyone. Ordered food through just eat which has said it’s been delivered and it hasn’t. Never again!! Can’t even comment on the food because we didn’t get any!! It’s unfortunate I have to leave one star

First time using this Chinese was feeling very hungry ordered from just eat at 9pm it was here by 9.15pm only got a chicken curry with egg fried rice but was very tasty not greasy at all

The best chinese takeaway in the area so far. We tried ordering from different ones, and Kings House Chinese was the only one we actually liked. The food was always fresh, hot and delicious. Once, we even got our order delivered in 15 minutes! Haha. My husband really likes their noodles, whilst I love salt and pepper King Prawns. I struggled to find a takeaway that makes Salt and Pepper King Prawns just as tasty as it was in a chinese takeaway I used to work at, and there it is!

Chick n pork is the meal for me but could do with more sauce. The garlic fried rice is plenty for two let alone one. Priced reasonably well. All in all a good place to eat from.

Very disappointed to say the least, I was referred last year and food was amazing! Then at other times not so great. Me and my partner easily spend between 50-70 pound. But after I called this evening to ask if they were accepting card for payment he said no very rudely and hung up! And this hasn't been the first time!!! You've list a customer and you wont be seeing me referring a friend. People go to taste of China instead

Always good, don't personally like the texture of the chicken but every other protein options are delicious. Arrived before estimated time. The satay prawns are heavenly

I told them that I'm allergic to peas When my fried rice turned up with peas in I called them, I was told 'just take them out' when I stated I can't as I'm allergic, I was told I wouldn't be getting a new one as they're too busy!! Awful disgusting customer service 🤬

Extremely disappointing. Ordered with them via their website on Friday around half 6pm, with estimated delivery for 7:30pm. By 8pm we were upset it still hadn't arrived, tried to call but line was busy (eventually we realised they probably just turned their phone off?) . Tried to message but no response. It got to half 8pm and we ordered elsewhere as on the Just Eat site it no longer had them listed as Open. Some driver eventually showed up around quarter past 9pm with no apology. Thank God we had ordered the other Chinese from The Avenue which was alot better, fresher and easily contactable.

Not even worth a 1 star review. Ordered through just eat, said the order had been recieved, and then delivered.. and nothing turned up. Over an hour we waited and the phone lines were busy (not even just eat could get through to them) why accept an order when you can't provide it? I never leave negative reviews because I understand what can happen with restaurants.. but this looks awful for just eat. I'd definitely go elsewhere

Paid almost £40 on a rubbish tasting take away from here yesterday it was that horrible it all went in the bin!!...was scared to eat it as it tasted unfresh like it had been heated up too many times 🤢 and over cooked too. Excerpt poor customer service. I placed an order on just eat and revived an notification from my bank saying that I’d be refunded. I called the kings house to find out what the problem was and just got a load of abuse from the person on the other end of the phone.

WoW...talk about rude service! Walked in and waited 4-5 minutes, nobody on counter, called out hello, guy comes out, scowls at me as I say hello how are you? No answer, he walks off into the back, Reappears about 30 seconds later.. "What you want" he growls... Nothing now, goodbye!!

The food was late so when I enquired they lied and said they had tried to deliver it and had called me. No one had come to my door and no one had tried to call. What's more on the phone the man I spoke to was extremely rude, blaming me for the lack of delivery and threatened to charge me for his inconvenience. When the food eventually arrived, an hour late, it was tepid, bland, stale and barely matched the description of what I ordered I will never order from them again and recommend no one else order from them as well.

They forgot our delivery through just eat and when we enquired as to what had happened they lied about trying to deliver it and the gentleman was very rude, offensive and borderline abusive over the phone. Refusing to even let my partner get a word in edgeways. Terrible customer service and it made what was meant to be a nice evening in, quite unpleasant.

Ordered about 5 or 6 times over the past few months. Food rarely tastes fresh, extremely rude owner, just found a short curly black hair from what I just ordered. Looked like a bloody pube! The beef is what I would imagine dog or horse to taste like. Chicken tends to be fatty and pink in the centre. Today they refused to accept my card, probably because of the new law that doesn't let them charge you for it. Machine had no tenners so had to draw out 20 instead. He didn't even say thank you or goodbye. Having a couple of decent value for money meals in the past is the only reason why I'm not giving one star. But doubt I'll be ordering again.

I keep ordering from them. Never had any problem. I probably ordered over 30 times from Just Eat and never had any issues. The driver already knows me. Love the Deep Fried Shredded Smoked Chicken and the special fried rice. If you are in a budget and you are not too picky, amazing food for the price.

Ordered as normal. An hour wait because it's Saturday.. Food was less than average. Ribs were tough and probably been cooked a week or so back. Then onto the Main course, house special fried rice. I can tell you it was anything but special. Bland flavour, tough meat and an overriding smell of fish coming from the packaging. My pal felt the same with his meal. Some of the food was cold and all lacking in flavour. Chineses are known for vibrant flavours. The types that normally get your mouth watering before your first bite.. Both of our meals were very anti-climactic. Shame really. Will not be eating here again. Would recommend anywhere but.

They were being funny about accepting coins as the ATM down the block was broken. Delivery driver phoned up the takeaway and put me on speaker after about 10 minutes of me standing outside in the cold so I took my money back. If coins are not good enough for them then neither is my business. Never ordering from here again. I ordered pizza instead, at least they took my money.

Big portions, quick service and lots of variety

Great pork chowmein and ribs. At £10 minimum free delivery and very reasonable price for the two at £10.10 i was in for a sure thing. Unfortunately they just upped the minimum delivery to £12 so i went with another place tonight. If minimum came back to £10 they would have a guaranteed order from me every pay day at the very least!

Awful awful service! Don't ever order with them because if you have an issue and call, they are going to be super rude - refusing to listen or help with the issue, being tremendously condescending! Not what you expect when you pay over 25 pounds. Not to mention they were supposed to offer pawn crackers (over 15 quid) and pancakes or drink (over 25). The food isn't great but even if was, screw this crappy service!!

So a gent picked up the phone can I call you back pls sir. 3 mins later a call back placed order he said it might be about an hr we are really busy no problem I said. 25 mins later a great dinner on my table and it was fantastic. Many thanks Jim

We ordered Singapore special fried rice for takeaway, when we opened the food within 15 mins, it was bad meat smell. We called them back to tell about this, they listened everything and disconnected the call by saying call us tomorrow. Worst customer service.

So rude it's unbelievable send me rice when I ordered a special chow mein phoned them and he said that there busy and can't I just take it I don't eat rice at the best if times plus iv paid for what I ordered said I would like my order delivered to me or refunded and hung up on me phoned back and repeatedly hung up on! Such rude people! Always putting the phone down to me. Not cooking the food properly and sending out wrong orders. Not happy with there services at all. When deciding what I want they just hang up and then you call back and there like loss of signal or couldn't hear you. I may start to look for another Chinese just can't deal with these rude people anymore. I'm a regular customer and they just don't care! There always right not the customer in their eyes
