Kings Hill Chinese Takeaway in Birmingham

I have eaten from kings hill for the last 20 years. It has always been 10/10. I would travel a long way for kings hill if I ever moved

The last few weeks service has been really poor. I have had Chicken Chow Mein twice now and there was hardly any chicken in it at all Ordered a curry sauce and what usually is in a big pot, now came in a small pot you get at the chip shop, The prices have gone up but they are putting less meat in the meals Very disappointed so will be going elsewhere from now on

Used to be good but the last few months they get my order wrong nearly every time. I wouldn't recommend if you have dietary restrictions. I'm Buddhist and am vegetarian, I frequently get sent the wrong food from this place and today I accidentally bit into a "vegetable" spring roll which wasn't vegetable at all. I may have swallowed some and am now nursing my poor stomach as I feel like I will throw up. Staff seem very none understanding of it and even ask for the food back even if it's been eaten before sending replacement or refund? Makes me question the hygiene of this place because I'm confused on what they want it for. On the bright side the food IS delicious but I don't trust this place any more. I can't remember the last time my order was correct.

I ordered something I don't remember the names but I recall it says Special fried rice something. They gave me fried rice in one bowl and in the other bowl its juicy item consists Pork, Chicken and Mushroom. The smell was gross and coming to the taste, that was the worst food I have ever eaten. I wasn't even able to swallow, I just chewed immediately vomited. That's how gross the food is. The meat is undercooked, the taste and smell are hell. Even the fried rice is also worst as hell!!!

Food is lovely but keep getting the order wrong or missing items. When questioned it's always our fault because we order to a pub so must be drunk . . . Stone cold sober as live on site but thanks for assuming! Won't be ordering again after 10+ years!

First time trying this Chinese as it’s more local. We rang up and placed an order for collection. They take card payments which is great and convenient! Food was really hot and fresh. Tasted amazing! Would highly recommend and will definitely be ordering again as our go to Chinese!

Don't have a takeaway often. Usually OK from here. Tonight it was absolutely horrid. £30 wasted. Never again.

Visited my friend near this take away. It was our first visit and the food was fantastic. We walk there to order and they prepare the food in no time. We all agree how good the food was. Will definitely go back again and recommend to anyone who likes quality Chinese takeaway.

Quantity over quality here. The portions are generous but the culinary care is lacking to say the least. Also please tell your delivery staff to ring the flat number when delivering to apartment blocks, not just phone and say "I'm outside". No tips for you. Doubt if there'll be improvements. The prices have gone up since this online menu was posted. Going elsewhere next time.

Have ordered from this Chinese several times as I have an allergy to tomato’s and sweet pepper and they always seem aware of this and accommodate my needs. However today I ordered £13 plus veg soup veg yuk sung and prawn toast. I have ordered this order many times from them but this time the food came full of chopped peppers that could not be removed because they were that small. When I phoned to question this I was told they don’t register customers allergies even though they checked several times with me when I have ordered previously. So I’ve had to throw away £13 worth of food so I will not be ordering from them again. I can’t give a review of the food because I am unable to eat it but I can say do not contact them if you have a problem with your order because their attitude stinks and they don’t care. All they want us the money - don’t waste your time ordering from them

I think that the bad reviews are very unfair it was 👍🏼 worth the price the bad reviews almost put me off glad I never listened

This food isn’t made with no love!! The chicken balls are very small and oily, the curry sauce is microwaved and congealed with an oily flavour, the salt and chilli chips are certainly not salted and the chilli has to be out of date literally flavourless, the rice noodles were also oily in fact they were disgusting and the guy at the til is a miserable sod! Disgrace from a restaurant should be ashamed at the oily, flavourless, congealed food you provide. I feel I have been robbed of my money and of my health do not go here!

My local, most favourite Chinese was closed. The Kings Hill’s food was absolutely delicious, everything looked clean and they waited for us at closing time. Just wish they eased up on the MSG… it’s the first time ever that my hands swelled after having Chinese.

Great food the first few times then goes down hill from there I had the delivery driver have a go at me and throw chips all over my path not a good night. Poor never go back

Had used the takeaway over the years but to be honest it has lost its way. The food had been of high quality but somehow their standard's have dropped I don't think I will use it again shame really

Decided to give Kings Hill a try and were not disappointed. Good vegetarian selection including delicious Chow Mein and Mixed vegetable Shanghai (2 of our favourites). Very good value for money. Delivered within the time frame given. To get the fifth star it would be great to have either some tofu choices, or vegan meat alternatives (such as Quorn) on the menu.

Fast service and great food what more could you want.

Curry is lovely, meat is very chuncky & dry though. Ordered duck in plum sauce, had it in the past from here & was lovely. Now it’s vile. It doesn’t taste of plum sauce. It’s a sweet sauce but not plum & the tub is full of veg so hardly any duck. Customer service is not good, never friendly or polite with people & cant pay with card or online. In this day & age?

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE We ordered from these first time today and the food came surprisingly quickly considering it’s Friday night so started to dish it out and it just stunk of sweaty feet 3in 1 ribs and mushroom it was vile had one spoon, rang them up told me they can’t give me a refund although I’m pretty sure if a customer isn’t happy with the quality it should be rectified I have worked in the food industry for many years and personally wouldn’t treat a customer like this ended up having to go in been refused a refund as he told me because I tried it he now can’t resell it so he’d basically resell if I didn’t try it which is terrible considering the food has already been in my house & back to the shop which proves the bad quality once again. I have video proof of it all TRADING STANDARDS AND FOOD SAFETY INFORMED.

Ordered for the first time. Chowmein was really dry and the prawns smelled and tatsed bad. Looked like something that had overtstayed and last bit from the pot. Really bad

Firstly the price I was quoted on the phone didn't match the price on the menu (guy kind of sounded like he was making it up off the top of his head), collected the food and I've got to say it was the strangest tasting Chinese curry I've ever tried (sick/sweaty odour and taste), most of it ended up in the bin, gave a little to the dog then immediately felt guilty as the dog died 😑 never again..... Okay I lied about the last bit but the rest is all true, could just be the chef having an off day but if not avoid like the plague

Never again. Up all night being sick. Till last night, the food was good. I had to throw most away last night, wish that I had thrown it all away.

Ordered lot times got sweet n sour sauce instead of curry sauce then ordered veg spring roll and got prawns in it told them when went in shop no freebie and no apology poor customer service at least say sorry and say u would never do that cause u did and im vegetarian simple error and not changed my life but sorry seems too be the hardest word

Parking space is a pain here, perhaps not meant for the client who drives in to order and collect their take away. The food itself is standard but I admittedly enjoyed the salt and pepper chips, bamboo and noodles with chicken wings and spare ribs. The servings were generous too and the wait was no more than ten minutes. Several similar restaurants in the locality so check genuine customer reviews as I did to really get value and quality for money.

Having used these guys for many years they have always been friendly and best of all have great good.

I have been using this company for many years and is sad to leave only a two star review, the food is always to good standard other than the chips some times which aren't cooked properly. It takes too long to order food, The last Friday I attempted to call them 15 times to order food but was engaged or didn't answer and rang out, this is the only Chinese by me that deliver, but in the end I gave up and thought I would drive there to see if they was open, they was, so decided to drive past and used another company. I gave them another opportunity today and again have let me down taking over an hour and a half to deliver my food when they promised it within the hour, absolute let down lately. SORT IT OUT!!!

Lovely takeaway. Food is amazing. Always busy on Fri and Saturday so hard to get through to the phone but not surprised as their food is great!

excellent food, very friendly staff and very friendly delivery drivers. our favorite take away and i can really recommend it to anyone. they will go out of they way to accommodate food tolerances and also lay out whats in the meals.

Absolutely shocking experience last saturday, ordered food at 7 and was told UP to an hours wait, the hour passed and so did another 20 minutes, we phoned back to ask where our order is at which point the girl said quite rudely its on its way. another 40 minutes passed at which point we were quite angry, we phoned up again and said we are not paying the full amount as its been 2 hours now. the lady on the phone was very rude again saying she she said it would have been over an hours wait which was a lie. 10 mins later the guy turned up with out food, it was quite nice but we had gone passed it, also the food was steaming hot and the guy said he had took it from the shop in the last 5 minutes so the woman lied all along. we then preceded to give the guy a reduced price which he had to confirm with the lady in the shop and she tried to negotiate with us through the guy and we could hear her on the phone saying how rude we had been. All in all the quality of the food is decent but the service was shocking.
