Kings Head in Wrexham

My partner and I tried this pub as its only a short drive from where we will marry next year so thought potentially a good place to direct our guests to. The pub itself is so quirky, absolutely beautiful to look at and has a big enough car park. Plenty of places to sit including nice outdoor areas. We tried breakfast first and wasn't disappointed, reasonably priced and the staff are really friendly and made us feel welcome. We have since been back for lunch and tea and found any time we have revisited to be the same, different staff but same friendly approach who can't do enough for you. Super friendly and relaxed atmosphere, very welcoming. Food is great, if you like your pub grub I'd definitely recommend eating here. We will most definitely be suggesting to our wedding guests they try this pub.

What an excellent place. Very welcoming, nothing too much trouble. All the staff smartly dressed in uniform and with excellent customer service skills. And on top of that the food was amazing. Reasonably priced. The staff were able to advice on food allergy. Will definitely visit again and recommend this place to others.

I went with a friend for Sunday roast today Arpti 14 th and was blown away by such great food and the girls serving this as they are so people friendly which means a lot to me as this place is defo all ages would love this so much.

Visited here for first time today, for Sunday lunch. The food was delicious, plentiful & reasonably priced. Arrived quickly as well. Our son had gammon which was a very generous size, he was impressed 😁 Our turkey roast dinners were very tasty. What little we left we wanted to bring home for our dog, staff boxed it for us. Thank you. Really friendly staff, a cosy & welcoming pub. Good music playing too, always a plus for me. We will definitely be returning.

Stopped it here on Saturday afternoon with a couple of friends after riding Llandegla. A nice little pub this lovely layout. I had a burger with chips it was lovely and the Guinness was spot on too, so a great end to a great day

The whole experience was great ,popped in on off chance the food great staff excellent and black pudding starter was fantastic. Will be coming back

Booked a table for 5 people for Sunday Lunch. Travelled from Wrexham and was told no Sunday Lunch was available! We did not receive a phone call to notify us. A wasted journey!

After a lovely morning visiting erddig near wrexham we fancied a Sunday lunch on the way home but we had the dog with us !!. After a bit of Googling and a phone call the kings head were able to accommodate us no problem. They didn’t know it was the dogs first visit to a pub/restaurant:). On arrival we were found s table in the busy pub . Grand Prix was on the TVs in the background. We quickly ordered food . 1 beef dinner 1 turkey . The food arrived within 10 mins and was lovely. Plenty of veg in a side dish of carrots broccoli cabbage and cauliflower cheese . If there was one criticism it was the gravy was very thick but it didn’t spoil my lunch at all . We even had pudding after sticky toffee pudding and that was very nice too . The staff where very nice too and made a fuss of the dog who was well behaved thankfully 😅

No matter when you go to this pub, whether it's for food or just for a drink the reception is amazing. The team are incredibly polite, the place has a lovely welcoming feel, the food menu is lovingly put together and you get chippy chips in a pub which is amazing!! The drinks are pretty good too, refreshing good if you haven't been your missing out.

This is much more than a pub. Beautiful food, well presented, lovely friendly staff and a well stocked bar. It’s been very well renovated and the loos are the cleanest I’ve ever seen in a pub. I’d certainly recommend the steak and ale pie.

Wonderful food with exceptional service and a very friendly welcome. We’ll certainly be returning very soon. The place is very well kept and the facilities are spotlessly clean.

Went for dinner last night whilst dog sitting for family member.What a treasure a lovely homely pub well laid out with indoor and outdoor dining facilities. A good basic pub menu with specials board at extremely reasonable prices.We chose rack of ribs home made coleslaw with the most amazing home made chips .washed down with a cold pint of coors perfectly kept and 2 bots of corona to help quench the thirst .The food service and hospitality was 2nd to none and with a bill of only £32 incredible value.I would recommend to anyone .

Staff are good the meals are brilliant and we’ve had a good meal at the pub tonight Carson and mum I’m happy for the meal I’ll go against that pub brilliant meal with is everybody was happy the staff was friendly and kind

Went to the King's Head last night, just on the off chance. Staff were very welcoming, attentive and friendly. Lovely atmosphere, bright and cheerful and food was very good. Recommended, had a good time. 😋

Two couples with a pre-booked table, first visit since pre Covid-19. We had starters, mains, deserts, drinks & coffees. Food was average pub grub, unfortunately all hot food was served on cold plates. Menu is extensive, prices are reasonable. We were asked to pay for our starters, main course & arrival drinks before our food was served. We were also asked to pay for the next round of drinks during our meal and before ordering desert. Nowhere on the menu did we see that payment was due at time of ordering and it is not what we expected to punctuate our evening out. Appreciated this requirement was not down to the table staff, who were very attentive and proficient, however this payment policy ruined the ambiance of our evening out and as a result although this is the closest functioning pub to our homes none of us will return.

Very friendly host. We stopped off for a full Welsh breakfast which was extremely good value with a choose of not so big or big!! We are planning on returning for Dinner or Evening meal. My wife loved the Expresso Martini Cocktail on Tap......Yes even at breakfast!!!! Unable to comment on other meals as we only came for breakfast but the normal menu looked very good value & varied.

Had a family meal here today, food was good, especially the chips, plenty of choice reasonable price, quick service, would return.

Food is average pub food, it doesn't pretend to be anything else. Price is really good and lot of choice on the menu to satisfy most people. Drinks have a wide selection including the local "Wrexham" larger which is really good. For a cheap pub...

Arrived at what appeared a very “locals” pub but it was great. Amazing service. Lovely staff. Great beer. Friendly atmosphere. We will be back. Thank you.

A pleasure to eat and drink here. Very friendly staff, good selection of wine. Highly recommend the veggie curry- best I’ve tasted and very reasonably priced. Lots of tv around so good to watch the football or rugby. Look forward to coming back

Gods atmosphere, good beer. Some food is great, some is odd like the chicken curry that’s more green pepper than chicken with the tortilla wrap on the side! But burgers and panini’s are great 😀

Popped into this quaint little pub on the way home and had the best burger ever. My partner had very tasty, fresh fish and chips. All cooked to perfection. They where very accommodating to us and service was excellent. Would highly recommend!

Visited for Mother’s Day. Party of 12. We had a lovely place to sit in the main bar. Nice modern gastro pub. Lovely selection of gin on offer which is my tipple as well as beers etc. We Ordered from the main menu. I can recommend the lamb tagine this was very tasty. Food was served in good time - especially as lots of other bookings were in too. Just a nice quaint village pub doing very well. Staff work really hard too.

Once a week we take my parents out for dinner, after the same restaurants over and over I googled homemade chips and the Kings head appeared, my dad likes his fish and chips and on Wednesday night we all want fresh, tasty, value for money, in a clean and friendly environment and that's exactly what we got, food was lovely, huge portions, very friendly staff, we even stayed for the quiz and felt very welcome, It's not posh nosh, its good home cooking at very good prices, my husband loved his fish and chips, not overly impressed with the mushy peas, but that's a minor niggle, we'll defintley be back.

Called in Sunday lunchtime after a shopping trip, only 2 of us and we were able to choose where to sit, opted for onion rings and mini spring rolls to start, they were hot and well cooked, then had roast of the day (opted for turkey) again served hot and tasty. The meat was plentiful, and a good selection of veg although some were obviously frozen they were well cooked. Dessert was good and can recommend the baked cheesecake.

Great welcome. Here for a family birthday. Placed in the corner so we basically had 17 people almost in a private function area. Food was good and reasonably priced. Dogs are allowed which I think is a good feature. Decor is good and the pub retains original features. Light and airy stag are very friendly.

Recently refurbished village pub. Very pleasant decor. Very reasonably priced home-cooked food and friendly staff. A couple of cask ales and reasonable wines.

Fabulous refurbishment- food is typical ‘pub food’, very tasty, quick to serve, great customer service and a very lovely welcome. Highly recommend :-)

We visited this establishment on a Saturday evening in September. Parked car and it looked very welcoming with lights on the outside of the building. As we entered we were welcomed by the manager (Mr Paul Belton) ordered drinks the 2 men were offered tastes of the beer on offer and the 2 ladies had gin and they had a wide choice of them. We were told where our table was and proceeded to scan the menu. Once decided we ordered at the bar, again we were told by the manager what he recommended ( the fish and chips) the other choices were lamb tagine served with rice, liver and bacon with chips, and leek, onion and meat pie. All meals were well presented and well portioned, and tasted excellent. We were not rushed at all and not pushed to have desserts which looked divine, but resisted the temptation. The prices were also very reasonable.

Good basic pub food with very friendly staff and great service. Good for families and couples would go again.

We’d heard that the kings head had had a nice make over so we stopped for lunch with our two children. We will definitely be back- lovely decor, food and friendly service. Lovely :)

We have eaten here many times Fresh home cooked food very reasonable prices which doesn’t reflect on the quality of the produce Lovely friendly staff Spotlessly clean with a glowing log burner What’s not to like !!

Called at the kings head for an impromptu night out following the new refurbishment, all I can say is excellent ! Staff , owners and new landlord couldn't do enough to make our evening very pleasant. Well worth a visit.

The King's Head has reopened recently and we had an extremely pleasant experience when we visited on Friday evening. The décor was very welcoming and tasteful and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. We had chilli and curry, both homemade and delicious. I had a chocolate brownie for dessert. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be recommending it to our friends. Well worth a visit.

A real 'village' pub, with a warm welcome, friendly efficient staff. The food is good value, home-made, (chips are the best)! Manager Paul Belton, is an excellent host, with a good quiz on a Wednesday night.
