CUSTOMERS TALK ABOUT DISHES WITH..fishpiecookedsteak

Very disappointed! There were 4 of us and the food was not nice. Sausage and mash….mash had lumps and the sausages looked undercooked as were white! Steak & Ale pie….burnt and the inside was dried out like it had been reheated more than once. Beef roast dinner was the worst we had ever had, roast potatoes were burnt! Will never go back there as the customer service was non existent! Not once did someone come to the table to ask if everything was as ok.

Made an order for drinks, I asked for a mug of hot water and was told no, i enquired why and was told they had no facilities to boil water. Ordered Sunday roast which consistered of undercooked frozen vegtables, I asked for boiled potatoes and was told they had none, gravy like tap water. Roast Turkey for myself and the roast beef for my spouse was overheated, dry and crispy around the edges. The puddings came, had a waffle with One Strawberry on top, I could not understand why there were not more people in there but after receiving the meal I could understand why. Napkins with cutlery inside were held together with a White sticky label. The only thing we could rate about the visit was the young waitress who served us was outstanding.

Possibly the worst pub meal that we have ever had. The beer was flat and the food was in places inedible. A child’s meal for £7 consisted of a sausage, six chips and a pot of peas. Loaded fries were definitely not loaded and were in fact uncooked in places. When concerns were raised the landlady was incredibly rude and refused to accept our concerns. I can wholeheartedly say we will never return.

Absolutely love this pub for cheap but excellent food. Plenty of choice and always cooked to perfection. Every time we are in Yarmouth we make a point of eating here.

We stopped here for lunch randomly one day on our holiday, and had the best time! The landlady was fantastic and couldnt have done more, she was friendly, happy to open up the baby changing room (which was clean, light, and spacious) and didnt mind when the children made a bit of a mess. Fab having some jenga available for the 3 year old to play with too. Fantastic feel to the place, and the food was incredible

Visited the on-site Fish and Chip takeaway to purchase a meal for the family as we live right opposite. Sadly never got to try the food as they only sell “meals”. I wanted to purchase 4 x Savaloys, 1 s Pie, 1 x Burger and 2 x Chips, to share between the family. They will only sell items as meals, 1 savaloy and chips, 1 pie and chips, etc. This is a first for me, a takeaway not selling items individually. They lost a customer and living 30 seconds away, one that would have returned regularly. Thankfully Just Eat and Belton Fish Chips and Kebab saved the day and delivered exactly what I required - exactly the Customer Service that any reasonable person would expect.

50+ people enjoyed a belated 90th birthday party here for my cousin. The function room looked lovely with matching tablecloths and chair covers, The buffet provided was amazing with hot and cold food, very plentiful and well cooked. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, very attentive and did all they could to make this a memorable occasion for my relative. Nick the D.J . did a grand job and catered for all ages. The kids loved it .All in all a lovely evening.

Staff were friendly, beer was fine as expected. Food not great at all, had sticky beef strips was about 3 bits of beef in the dish, the rest was full of peppers and rice. Tasted okay but obviously not what you expect when the title says beef. Was pretty close to being a vegetarian meal. Wouldn't go back for food again.

Unfortunately we couldn’t give a rating as we never got to try the food . This pub is advertised as doggy friendly it most certainly isn’t . We turned up Monday evening after Googling doggy friendly pubs where it boasts a picture of a dog in the bar . It was chucking it down with rain so eating outside wasn’t an option . I’m doubtful they had that many customers anyway looking at the car park and we’ve got two elderly Jack Russell dogs . You’d have thought they could have made an exception on this occasion and let us maybe sit in the bar with them . We were turned away completely. I said to the girl you’re advertised as doggy friendly , she just didn’t want to know . I’d say business must be booming if you can turn custom away on a miserable Monday evening . They should stop advertising themselves as dog friendly , it wasted our time traveling to it !

We are regulars! Most staff know us by now and we always enjoy our visits! We recently went with friends and it was amazing as always - topped off by great customer service from Bruce! He was really chirpy and friendly and made a great meal even more enjoyable

On our first night in Great Yarmouth we wondered into the "Marine" looking for some food. The Pub was quiet, and all the Staff were genuinely friendly. My Wife has Gallstones and is waiting an Operation so has to be so careful what she eats, the Staff were able to adapt a Prawn Salad for her, which we appreciated. I'm a huge Pie guy, and I chose the Homemade Steak and Ale Pie, which was a bit special, and I can't say I've eaten many, if any better. It's truly delicious. Thanks to everyone there for a lovely meal. Definitely drop in and try the Homemade Steak and Ale Pie.

It’s always wonderful to visit Fritton Lake, laid back luxury with such beautiful grounds, great food and lovely atmosphere. Every member of staff is so friendly and helpful, the Club House beautifully decorated. It’s a rare treat to find somewhere as lovely as this, and it’s dog friendly!

Such a shame as it feels you are still operating a limited menu like we are still in lock down (main course all with chips) ) A locals opinion, it feels both the Lion and White Horse are targeting only transient clientele through holiday season and why maybe, they are quieter out of season where public houses with good old ‘English food’ for the local community are a busier. Both great pubs, staff lovely, but the food really needs some attention and love and updating!
