never had the food before and it taste really good . 100% buying again

I've used King's for maybe 15 years, not once have I had a bad meal. It is the only takeaway that they whole family oooh and aaaah over! Everything seems cooked with love. This is clearly a family run business, they are not on JustEat or delivery apps. It is a simple Chinese take away restaurant so you know they do good food! Kings is often a victim of its own success, long wait times when ordering in person and much much longer delivery times especially on friday/Saturday evenings - but I'll gladly wait each time! Maybe I shouldn't leave such a good review - but having spent years in the restaurant trade I respect when people work hard. I'm also impressed with their prices, increases have been respectful to cover rising costs without gouging locals like so many other eateries.

Finished work last Sunday and fancied a Chinese on the way home.. So popped in here.. Cant rave enough about this place.. It's definitely one if not the best Chinese in paignton.. I eat in here regularly and will carry on doing so while the food is excellent...

My daughter loves the 3 in 1 chips, rice and curry sauce.

Bang on time. Pipping hot and fresh. Plump King Prawns x 10 in curry with egg fried rice plenty of egg. Chicken curry x 10 pieces tender with bag crispy chunky chips. 2 X large pancake rolls. So generous in portions. So reasonably priced you don't get stung having to buy chips and rice separate. Polite driver. Can't fault.

Appreciate the whole experience also helps that the person they have taking orders is polite informative and very smiley not to mention gd looking definitely go there again and would recommend to everyone

Very poor service tonight, not for the first time, food was an hour plus late and not as good as normal. The girl on the phone didn't apologise for being late. Time to look for another Chinese takeaway

Never had a bad meal here, till they came back from their annual holiday,Had a chicken curry, the pea's and onions were undercooked, had to remove from the rest, boiled rice was starchy and sticky, the cooking has gone down hill, will be using another curry house till they sort it out .

Don’t even bother, over an hour for a couple of rice dishes and chips, I was collecting but all they were concerned about was getting the just eat orders out, food was bland, tried Kings on a recommendation, never again, save your money and choose Wong House, Exceptional service food always really fresh and piping hot

What on earth has happened to Kings?? Been using this takeaway for nearly 10 years and used to be the best takeaway for miles!! The last 3 visits have been terrible. Yesterday I tried to call in my order and the phone wasn't constantly busy. Eventually I gave up and drove in to order. I mentioned the phone issue and they didn't even know it was off! Lucky for me they didn't lose any business. I ordered my phones at 6pm and paid for it and was told it would be 30mins so I left and came back at 6.30. The guy who came in behind me at 6pm who also couldn't call his order in was sat in the shop and got his food before me!! I asked why he got his food before me when he clearly ordered it after me, I was told "dunno sorry". Eventually at 6.50pm almost 1 hour after ordering it and everyone else getting there food who ordered after me I got my food. The food was delicious as always but the whole experience has now ended my 10 years of custom. Sorry Kings but that is just not acceptable.

Definitely one of the best takeaways in Torbay. Absolutely delicious food, all cooked fresh and to perfection. Couldn't fault it at all. Puts the two in Brixham to absolute shame!

Just had a takeaway last night while on holiday. Read all reviews of different Chinese and chose Kings, we loved the food, nicely cooked not over oiled like some can be. I cannot have peppers and onions in my food, so this was in all the dishes and was perfect. Good time just over an hour was told 1 hour. Cannot fault this place. Good price 👍 Will use again if in the area. Thanks

The best Chinese in Paignton, recommended to all people at Inn On The Green and more, favourite Chinese and recommend all people to give them a try! Never been disappointed Update 26/03/2023 Over a year since I've posted this review but I have to commend this business again, food has carried on being the best in Paignton and gets better with each order! Best Chinese in Paignton. Been ordering here for nearly two years now and it’s always amazing. Food is always hot upon arrival, always so flavourful and delicious. Staff on the phone are lovely. Yes, it is over an hours wait for delivery but it’s honestly worth it! Plus you know it’s being cooked fresh if you’re waiting a long time! Wouldn’t recommend anywhere else apart from here 💜

Tried here last night for the first time.. Wanted to try the salt and pepper box.. It was ok enough.. A little dry on some of the items.. But was really impressed with the ribs.. May try again.. Wouldn't be my first choice of Chinese in paignton..

Great food. Great value as generous portions. When busy allow 45 to 60 minutes for order, but not a problem as long as you know. After 6pm plenty of free parking on RHS of Winner St before or after Kings.

Wife and I had chicken curry, next day couldn't get to the bathroom quick enough, couldn't put our finger on what food we ate that day so we went back a week later, I had a beef curry, wife had chicken curry, did not feel too good a few hours later, next morning, rushed to the bathroom, most of the morning too.

Ordered Chinese paid then was informed the chef has to pick something up and would be 20 min waited and waited then after about a hour received the food the sad thing is the food good but wasn’t that hot and this was a Tuesday evening good luck on a busy weekend

Don't want to give a 1 star...my food was awful and when I rang up to complain I was told by them that I was 'NOT ALL THERE'......how insulting....she said not possible as she cooked it...DO NOT GO THERE. There are other Chinese places in Paignton who are really nice and don't insult you......

Ordered, told wait was an hour, chased after an hour and they hadn’t even started cooking. A further hour later, still not arrived. Terrible

5 stars I’ve eaten Singapore chow mein from 100s of Chinese restaurants over the last 30 years and I can’t remember eating one as nice as the one I got from kings

Best Chinese in Paignton. You WILL have a long wait at peak times - ask yourself if a takeaway can get your food to you in 30 minutes on a Friday night at 6.30pm - how fresh is that food?

Good value for money and food is tasty. I would love to see a tofu dish on the menu.

Tried loads of Chinese takeaways since moving here two years ago this one is the best. At last some great spare ribs.

Always tip the staff barbecue spare ribs, duck in plum sauce, and occasional chicken curry with boiled rice. Brilliant 😎

3 hour wait for delivery even after I asked if they could guarantee meal would arrive in 1 1/2 hours prior to ordering!! Rang 3 x last time said it had gone out for delivery and was on the way, turned up an hour later. My son also told me his meal took 3 hours the previous week. Ridiculous avoid at all cost 😡

I always order from King's. Its delicious food. Always fresh and hot. Tastes amazing. Amazing customer service. Sometimes the wait for food is a little longer than other times but that's just at busy periods. Shows how popular the take away is.

First time feeders at King's this week. The crispy chilli beef was crispy and not too spicy, the salt n pepper chicken wings were very nice and the ribs had more meat on compared to other takeaways. We also ordered spring rolls, prawn toast, chicken curry, crispy chilli chicken and 2 large egg fried rice which came to 40 quid.. So £10 a head and we were full at the end(you know.. When your eating for fun because your full.. But its nice....). So Kings is probably my new Chinese takeaway.

Just rung at 6.30pm on a saturday for a delivery.. was told it would take up to... wait for it... 2 hours so that's hlf 8 ish.. disgusting... took custom elsewhere!!!

Kings is THE king AND queen of Chinese takeaway EVER!!! We love their food and it always arrives piping hot and bursting to the seams in its containers. The lovely service always makes us smile, such happy people! Excellent quality EVERY time, I even rang up after our last order as we enjoyed our meal soooo much!! The salt and pepper chilli spare ribs are insanely good!! Crispy chilli chicken, crispy seaweed, schzewan prawn, special fried rice... OMG foodgasm alert!!! Thank you Kings!!! Not the greatest Chinese you'll ever have. Since it changed hands 18 months ago, gone down hill immensely. OK standard, but there are much better around.

I have been looking for another takeaway as my previous favourite had closed temporarily. I asked on Facebook for suggestions as some have high minimum order and delivery fee making it not worth it for just one. However got a Kings menu and ordered the duck/prawn special rice, seaweed and the kids had omelette and sausage and chips. All arrived on time and piping hot. Person taking the order was great as was the deliverer. £12 minimum spend with £1.30 fee. Great to be using Kings again!

First time ordering and we loved it. The person on the phone was really helpful. Delivery was on time. The food was amazing and really tasty. Will definitely be ordering again and would really recommend.

Lovely people and great service. But the Rice was pretty dry, the chow mein was greasy, but it tasted good. Mixed sweet and sour balls were mixed.. Chicken and prawn were great. But the pork was very tough. The crispy chili beef was really good too.

Excellent curry, 1st time wont be the last

Chinese is up there as one of our favourite foods. This is our Chinese takeaway of choice - and we have tried many. Really tasty dishes and good chips which we find can sometimes be a bit of a letdown with others.

They were just closing but opened up to serve such warm and friendly service to customers food is delicious and not forgetting the amount of choices

Delivery service was as stated at time of order and a useful phone call from lady doing delivery was helpful The food was all yummy Crispy duck was nicely cooked Pancake rolls crispy and fresh Loved the tasty ribs and hot and sour soup was pleasant. Fantastic food! BBQ spare ribs are amazing not an ounce of fat on them! My mum, who doesn't normally enjoy Chinese, has requested we have Chinese for her birthday (but only from Kings)! Would have given 5 out of 5 but the delivery time is quite a long wait in comparison to other Chinese takeaways. Our last order was extremely late, but worth the wait for the fantastic food!

Always gone to Rickshaw but decided to try some thing else on a recommendation by someone and I wasn't disappointed the service was fast delivery was on time and the lads that delivered were very friendly and pleasant as to the food excellent hot and very very tasty indeed the ribs were mmm! I had read some of the review's but i had to try for myself and I wasn't disappointed at all

I just like chinese takeaway now and again

Shame to see such a great takeaway become so disappointing, watery sauces and completely tasteless meals.

Went off chinese for a long time because I couldn’t find one of any decent quality in Torbay but kings is something else. Eating dishes now I’ve never liked before because they’re so tasty! Service is friendly and Ive never waited long for food. Recommend to all my friends, and they all get there chinese from here now! Keep doing what you’re doing guys.

Years ago, I always bought from Kings because they were excellent, then the kids got older and introduced me to Honeymoon. The kids left home so i thought I'd go back to Kings. It was the worst mistake ever, not only were they very very late but the food was so bland that my husband and I struggled to eat it. We ordered 4 dishes and all tasted the same, zero zilch flavour. They've clearly changed their chef or changed hands. I will never go back, total disappointment and waste of money. Anyone who says they're good have clearly never had a good Chinese to compare it with. Zero stars.

I went there By myself for a meal and expecting a long wait. There was a huge variety of food for any person. The long wait never came as it was ready in good timing. I had a taste and it really blew our mind. It was absolutely great! Good sauce and great meat dishes (there are also a wonderful vegetarian dish). My was the special fried rice and I am sure many others like it too. I am for sure going again and I strongly recommend trying it. One of the best in the bay.

Soooo glad I didn't see the negative review until after we were sat inside waiting whilst our food was cooked. The pics say it all! My husband's salt & chili pepper dish was made with large chicken breast slices & my 3 medium-sized spring rolls were so yummy & handmade. Yes, the sauces are thin but are so packed with taste; the satay sauce was the best we've ever had (so was the s & chili p chicken) and the sweet & sour sauce was more balanced and NOT that sugary gloppy jelly from some places. Chicken balls were as expected. The owners were really nice & the place was quiet for a Sunday night at 8pm, so get up there & give them a try for yourselves. Both our boys work at Chinese takeaways in Plymouth but next time we visit Paignton, we will absolutely order again & support this local business. Thank you to the owners there for the lovely meal & best regards xx

I’ve always used this chinese for over 30 years, loved the food and the owners, my daughter even worked for them.

My Wife and I have been using Kings for 30 years and can say with hand on heart that this is the best chinese takeout in the whole of Devon. Their food is of the highest standard and Mandy and her husband have worked incredibly hard to provide beautiful food consistently. However it is with a sad heart that I must say that Mandy and her family have retired last week and I personally will miss them very very much. We have watched this family grow and although it is a much deserved break you will be sourly missed by all your avid customers from Paignton. I will miss you greatly but hope and wish you all the very best in your future. 最好看，我們會想念你們。愛皮特。We visited the new owner yesterday and his food was outstanding so ........its a new chapter in Kings history and we wish the new owners all the success of its previous owners.

Excellent chinese food. Very impressed! Curry sauce good, chicken good. Vegetable fried rice was to die for and the chips were the best chips ever had from a chinese. Girl taking orders was pleasant. We were tourists but looks like many locals use it. Wish we'd found it sooner!
