Staff were great owner is from Batley so was good to speak to a local 😂 food was great we went for a family meal for our last night in Devon.

We went this evening for the first time. It was amazing, the food was delicious and was fresh and hot. Selection was brilliant and the service was so friendly and welcoming. Went with a friend not knowing what to expect and I was nicely surprised. The host greeted us with a lovely smile and a friendly hello. The food was cooked well and hot. It was lovely to see steamed fish as well as mussels Great service. Will definitely return.

Visiting on holiday and after a long day, didnt fancy cooking. Ordered our usual dishes that we have at home. Have to say this is one of the best meals we've ever had. They delivered to our caravan at the expected time. Fantastic meal fresh ingredie

The only flavour here is salt and they used it by the buckets full. It was dry, chewy, and bland. There was a reason when picking up the takeaway the buffet was stocked but empty and now I know why.

We always visit The Honeymoon every time we are in Devon at least once a week, the food is always fresh and constantly renewed, and a lot of choice, the atmosphere and service are great and the staff cannot do enough for you. Overall we always have a fab time and will be back.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the loveliest man. Made us feel so welcome. He introduced us to his colleague, talked us through the buffet and then off we went. Food great, hosts great. Would definitely visit again.

Well where do we start, this is possibly the worst chinese we have ever eaten. The special fried rice was frankly slop, with various meats thrown on top. The chips seemed like they were reheated from last week, and the crispy shredded beef, I think I've got old leather shoes that would be easier to eat....but on a plus note if the fan belt goes on the car I know what I can use. The chicken balls, I always thought batter was meant to be crispy to some degree but who am I....frankly awful food

Came here after a recommendation from my parents (who loved it!). It was great and friendly service, and the food was delightful! Would highly recommend- for only £17 all you can eat including dessert, you can’t go wrong!

We came to vist Devon and was looking for place to eat and came across this on google,and I said we could while away and my husband said we should go on my birthday so we did, we walked in and lovely gentleman called James said have you booked we like erm no he said no don’t worry we will get you seated and he did do, the food was all fresh hot looked nice, we had food and gentleman came in it was his birthday and his wife had banners and my little girl said who mum we should done that, James heard over it was my birthday then next thing got a cake with a candle and came over and song to me, so it was a nice touch that he went that extra mile and his customer service was fantastic, Thanks again we had a great trip 💯 recommend

Today our Family went here just right now. We had a horrible experience. We have 3 child and 4 Adults we did paid for all of them also ourselves. The Receptionist is a man (english) , he was shouting to my daughter while she only laughed and looking around with us.But He said: BE QUIET for another customers ,While there rest only Had 2 people there and us. He was so racis to us because we are Asian . He did not welcome even say Hello when we first arrived. His behavior was so bad . If you haven’t happy with children in better to say NO in the door. . We never ever come back again and NOT RECOMMEND 👎👎👎👎👎

Myself and my girlfriend went on 27/07/24 and both got food from the buffet. It was phenomenal! We are visiting Paignton on holiday and we had to come here, we had heard so many wonderful things and it absolutely lived up to the hype. £17.99 for weekend, adult evening buffet and I wish we could of paid more. It’s very welcoming and made us feel instantly at ease and at home. There is no time limit on the table so we stayed for over an hour, they had up to 40 different dishes including starter and pudding. Please go! You won’t regret it!

Amazing experience, best Chinese I have ever had. Nothing is too much for staff, they go above and beyond to ensure you have the best experience. Large variety of buffet food, all great quality and piping hot. Will be returning when back in Paignton.

Went here on my birthday the host James was very friendly and discussed game of thrones with me 10/10 will be coming again next time I go to Paignton. I highly recommend this establishment the food is also on another level compared to other Chinese in the area absolutely divine!

We came as a party this evening. To review the food it was absolutely lovely. Kept fresh and very good little all you can eat. However the man who appears to be the manager needs to learn some people skills. He was rude about us having one less person than booked for (not something that could be helped as was a last minute let down) made us feel uncomfortable. When I tried making conversation with him at the bar he barely responded. Just an uncomfortable experience with this staff member and have made it an awkward atmosphere. The last insult was having the remains of our drinks and food swept away at the end before we had fully finished. Was very rushed at the end to finish. Assuming because of more customers arriving. But still after being told there was no time limit this was disappointing. All in all great food but will not return with staff as it is.

Honeymoon Chinese Restaurant - Paignton We were recommended this restaurant by a local. We were not disappointed, it was an amazing place. From walking in the door to leaving it really was a great experience. The welcome was really professional and the food was second to none. We chose the Buffet Menu and were amazed at the value and the quality of food on offer. We will definitely be returning. If you want a welcoming atmosphere, great food and value for your money this is the place to be !

Absolutely brilliant buffet, service was incredible. Very welcoming and incredibly attentive, if anything ran low it was replaced almost immediately. Food was excellent and it is price was very reasonably for a buffet. Atmosphere was lovely, can't ask for anything more.

The dishes seemed as if they had been microwaved instead of freshly cooked, the beef tasted off and the duck was undercooked in the pineapple dish. Disappointed with the overall quality sorry

We visited for the first time today and I’ve nothing but praise. The food was lovely, the staff were so helpful and welcoming. I highly recommend it and will be returning Definitely worth visiting and supporting this family run business.

chicken and sweetcorn soup was amazing!! I somehow ordered prawn wan tun but it didn't pick them up,gutted but was my fault for not checking

Excellent food. Food was piping hot when delivered. Best Chinese takeaway we’ve had in a long while. Came with prawn crackers which was an unexpected surprise! 100% recommend.

All delicious but they forgot the sweet and sour sauce for the mixed sweet and sour balls. The satay sauce had a weird smell but tasted good.

We stayed in Paignton for 2 nights, we googled places to eat and this came up. We called ahead to see if there was a table available, When we arrived (2 adults 2 children) I explained our oldest is a very fussy eater, I was asked what kind of things he likes and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our son. He was very happy that he could eat food with the rest of us and enjoyed the meal thoroughly. Myself my husband and our other son enjoyed the buffet too, the food was lovely the staff was amazing, very friendly and accommodating, please try this place out if you’re visiting the area. We loved it and will be back again when we next visit. Thank you.

This is without a doubt the BEST buffet I've been to. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome from James, the restaurant manager, who ensured we were well looked after throughout our visit. Selina, one of the owners, spent time talking to us, ensuring that our visit was going as expected and taking the time to get to know us. Victor, the other owner, was constantly replenishing food in the buffet, keeping everything fresh and inviting. The food was absolutely outstanding—everything tasted fantastic, and there was a great variety. The buffet offered a huge range of items to choose from, catering to all tastes and preferences. Brilliant value for money! We'll definitely be back if we visit Paignton again.

Wow! What an amazing meal that we just had from here, everything was cooked well and tasted very flavourful, it wasn't swimming in fat even the pancake roll was crispy on return to our holiday flat. The noodles and rice had more meat in it than other places we've eaten - usually they get packed out with cheaper vegetables but this was overflowing with different meat especially the special fried rice. The portions were huge and the price extremely reasonable. Thank you we would definitely recommend this 100% we had it as take away but on arrival my husband said the buffet looked great too with plenty of options.

Chicken was chewy and chips were thin chewy old chips. Such a shame and waste of money for such poor quality food…chicken should not be square and chewy

We went just after opening on a Saturday evening, the staff were excellent in assisting with seating with my disabled mother and were always checking to make sure everything was . The buffet was absolutely delicious everything we tried was cooked to perfection all the meats were succulent and the vegetables and the prawn toast melted in your mouth. I would totally recommend honeymoon restaurant for excellent food.

Not a great experience... we have been to some excellent Chinese/oriental buffet restaurants on our travels and this sadly falls short... the general feel you get from the internal decor is its seen better days ( confirmed by a local also) starting with the sweet & sour soup (usually a favorite of mine) it was disappointing and lacked all the ingredients & punch you come to expect. The duck for the pancakes wasn't shredded but in little 'lumps' that didn't sit well in the pancakes, and generally we found most of the dishes were just ' warm' rather than piping hot - I'm guessing this is because there was no lids/ covers on the serve yourself food trolley and they don't want the sauces / food to dry out ? No classic chilli sauce to be seen or plum sauce for the duck, the beef in black bean was acceptable had it been hot enough and the chicken curry looked un-appetizing. I tried several small portions from the food on offer before I left this review and it fell short of expectations for us, you also have to pay for food and drinks BEFORE you eat or drink - maybe they've experienced customers avoiding bill payments in the past ? All in all not a place I would return to 😞

quite possibly the worst quality crispy chilli beef. Almost in-edible. Dry, chewy, tasteless meat. The sauce had already congealed and just tasted sickly sweet. Little no no vegetables. Disappointed to the point I no longer want to use just eat for takeaways. Just gross.

We’ve been to Honeymoon restaurant so many times over the last few years. Whether we rock up midweek or on the weekend we are never disappointed. We always have a great meal, the food is rotated and kept fresh and the puddings are fab. The service is amazing! We’re always made to feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble for the host. Tonight was my partners birthday, the host put up a banner and brought out a cupcake with a candle at the end, it just made an impromptu birthday meal feel a little bit special. I honestly can’t recommend it enough.

Coming from London where Chinese families and chefs put time and effort into their craft this takeaway was a disappointment. Chicken noodles was obviously made with some sort of Oxo cube and my rice had all the hallmarks of my youngest Play-Doh set. The only way this meal could possibly have been any more exciting at all is if I found a pubic hair from the chef (who was obviously not Chinese) in it.

Food would be good if you had a bad day and have now given up completely on life. It was dry, rice was tastless with rubber chicken and the satay sauce leaves alot to be desired.. my partner had alot more creative language for the food but I'm too polite to write that but it was passable at best but we probably wouldn't be back. shame.

Well.. Chicken sweet and sour Cantonese stile was vinegar not sweet and sour, chicken satay was overcooked and dry, chips was mixed with dry deep fried noodles (thank goodness we didn't had any intolerance or allergies), we had a FREE ITEM, we choose a cheese cake not bigger than a Mars bar...AND defrosted... In the bay always we had and have sweet chinese family business who put their heart in chinese culture and cooking, this was more like an european tried to cook chinese food... sorry

Came down this way on holiday from Dorset, we fancied Chinese and went here and it was the best Chinese we’ve had in a .Long time! Waiter was fab and so polite and friendly!

Absolutely brilliant. Our family of four had dinner here and it was excellent. the food was great, the service was next level. There is a changing table for babies in the ladies bathroom and they were very accommodating and kind. Brilliant value and lovely atmosphere ❤️ would 100% recommend.

We are on holiday from Sheffield and always like to check out the local reviews for places to eat. This one came out top and so we went last night as a family, the restaurant was busy and it was easy to see why. The food was delicious. Not too much of each dish was out so it meant they were constantly being replenished so always fresh. Both my children tried new things they'd never had before, which is quite an achievement for them! There was an OK variety for vegetarians/vegans (maybe 1 more dish would have been nice). We wouldn't hesitate to return if we visit this part of the UK again!
