King's Chinese Takeaway in Kettering

Awful watered down food, not worth your time!!!

I used King's for over 10 years, and they used to be great. Recently, they've been terrible, most recent took around an hour to actually deliver, two hours if you include the order itself, the food eventually arrive, the chips were cold and soggy, the chicken dumplings were cold and hard, the rice was barely warm, and the sweet n sour chicken had barely any sauce, less chicken than an Asda microwave meal and was barely warm, I had to reheat all expect the chips in my own microwave, had to bin the chips, tried to have the dumplings but wasn't good. Wasn't worth the £33 in the end. I'm disappointed and unfortunately i will not be ordering from them again.

Food cold when arrived 1 hrs 15 mins rubbish

The ribs were disappointing, they were pieces of rib, very strange. The chips were soggy and the curry sauce was average. The chow mein and egg fried rice was good.

Ordered many times from here and never an issue however did not read the notes I put there. So food I was disappointed in.

Very average! Ribs were chewy, duck was dry but chicken balls were good!

A dish that was stated vegetarian had chicken in it

Food was expected an hour to hour and half after ordering, and it was at the door within 45 mins. Very impressed, food was good too, will order again

Food is good but the service is atrocious. Don’t opt for delivery

App said 70mins wait, jumped to 90 as soon as ordered then arrived 2hrs 20mins after order, food was basically cold, its valentines note so understand the long wait but this was ridiculous

Order at 4pm if you want it delivered for a 7pm dinner...Ordered at 8.05pm, still waiting at 10.20pm! After calling twice for an update!

The spare ribs had no meat on them at all waste of money.

Best Chinese Takeaway in Kettering, price are alright, food is delicious and they don't skimp on portions, defo will be ordering again, 5 stars

Very busy and over 30mins late - food good to be fair

This was the best chinese I've had for a while , and the food was hot, which makes a nice change

I was a bit dubious ordering from seeing the reviews but like to give everywhere a chance. Honestly can't understand the bad reviews yes takes ages for delivery but we'll worth the wait it's absolutely delicious! Food was hot flavour amazing I'll definitely be back

Food was bland, chicken wings were dry and tiny. The noodles, all stuck together and not fresh, sweet and sour sauce was horrible as were the wontons. For the price very disappointing.

cold no taste apart from a fatty oil taste.The beef was black as coal for the price it would have been cheaper to go out and eat.

Beef was ok, spent £24 and didn’t even get any free prawn crackers. Thought that was standard practice to be honest.

One item missing The egg fried rice. The meal was luke warm warm could not eat it as the worst beef curry I have ever tried as did not taste like any spices had been added was so bland threw it in the bin.

I had special chop suey which I found was way too salty and lacking in meat ( 2 bits of chicken 1 bit of pork and 3 prawns). Needless to say this’s will be the only time I’ll order from this takeaway.

awful quality food , zero taste, just greasy, prawn toast was more like plain fried bread and gir the mj ey it was awful, I'd never order again, far too spicy and ru s tasted off

Considering that I pre ordered and had to pay a service charge (no choice so totally ridiculous) and a delivery fee, deliveries shouldn't be late. The app told me it had been delivered when it hadn't and when I called the restaurant I was told that their delivery drivers aren't tracked. Food was OK when it was delivered but obviously not as hot as it could have been.

Took a very long time to arrive unhappy

All round rubbish. It was bland & cold. Whoever takes the orders needs a course in customer service as does the delivery driver

Absolute rip off for what u get wouldn’t mind if the quality was good and taste nice u pay for what u get kinda thing but that was shocking too! Then the service calling to complain was also awful too

So late I’d made food by time it arrived. Good job as it was cold & crispy beef was now soggy. Not suitable to serve to guest. Requested refund. Given £3!!!! Total insult. I get it was Christmas Eve but order should not have been taken if delivery & quality was going to be this bad. Even delivery driver said he’d had it 25 mins & they were taking too many orders they couldn’t deal with. Worst experience

Made a mistake on our order and then rude to us. Late, cold and wrong items delivered. Wouldnt recommend to anyone!! So disappointed and a complete waste of money.

ordered at 5pm arrived just before 8pm . the salt and pepper chicken and salt and pepper chips didnt even fill half the boxes even though I paid for large portions. all the food was very cold also. I understand its xmas eve and normally I wouldn't complain if it's late but the portions were tiny considering the amount I spent. highly disappointed and wont be ordering again from this place

Very lengthy delivery time every time we order from here. However the food is always very good quality.

Worst chinese in the area. Food took 2 hours and most of it went in the bin. Dry overcooked meat. Rice was the best bit and still mediocre at a push.

The food was freezing cold. When i rang the restaurant the gentleman on the phone kept talking over me. Wont be ordering from that restaurant again.

Boiled rice was very watery tasting. Chicken curry the chicken tasted like it was boiled first then curry sauce mixed in, 1st time ordered from here will be the last

I asked for a delivery for 8.15 and it arrived within 10 mins. The food was lovely but too much to finish! Excellent. The seaweed was particularly good. (from someone who doesn't usually like green stuff!)

The salt and pepper platter is not good value for money! But the food was good!

Surprised at the negative reviews on here. Food was delivered very quickly and quality was great. They really nailed the crispy chilli shredded beef. Decent value too

Shocking! Shocking shocking! I’m not one to leave bad reviews but I had to after the way the guy on the phone spoke to us. Nothing but attitude and POOR service. Swearing. Hanging the phone up. I don’t know why he was so angry but maybe he should stay at home and not come in to work. “King’s Chinese”. Rename it to Child Chinese. No experience/Childish behaviour.

We ordered late, so that might explain some of the issues; the starter selection is sparse for what it is. One satay stick, one rib. The prawn toast was chewy and greasy and just unpleasant. Spring rolls were pretty good, nice crunch. The food quality was generally poor. Dumplings had no dip of any kind. The 'peking' sauce was basically just pure bbq sauce. It was okay for being that, but poor for being peking. I rarely leave poor reviews, so for that, I'm sorry. But we won't be ordering again, unfortunately. It's a shame because we need more Chinese Takeaway in Kettering, but this isn't the one :(

The food wasn't even warm, whole order needed to be heated back up, took 1hr 40min from ordering to delivery... Quality of food wasn't great either, duck wasnt crispy & already shredded, not alot of duck either, enough for 3 wraps!!!!!! I won't be ordering from them again, I've requested a refund

Food arrived fast although the quality wasn’t great. Beef in black bean sauce tasted of fish and was very oily? The food seemed off and had odd smells and flavours. Not what I’d usually receive

Brilliant food, pipping hot, this may be a preference thing but the hot and sour soup could have been spicier but it was amazing

Placed an order at 6:30… it is now 9:40 and order still not arrived. Called restaurant requesting an update, really rude saying they advise we come in to collect next time… avoid and will not order from them again

I order here all the time never had a problem before tonight. Pretty much all the food I order was cold other the roast pork chow mien was cold and greasy, egg fried rice was stone cold, salt and pepper ribs was pretty much bone no meat and again cold. Even the sauce were barely warm. the chicken balls which were very greasy but at least they was hot! At least cans of cokes were warm though.

Ribs was about 3 ribs cut up into little pieces meat in the house special rice was not cooked properly and the spring rolls was full of grease that it all dropped out the end at least a tablespoon of grease in each complained and all they say is it’s just east problem

Not sure what meat is in the won tuns it tasted like sausage did not taste good the chips tasted like oven chips again not nice

Maximum time on order 30-35 minutes, distance to vendor 11mins, order received 1hour 20mins later. Food was cold, unsavoury. Being an emergency health worker, I had to be late to work. The customer service was so poor, very abrupt and curt individual. They do not provide cutlery. Today’s service was a huge departure from the standards I had experienced with them before. I hope it is a one-off and they can take the feedback and get back on track.

Food arrived 1.5 hr after ordering. Had to call to find out when it's going to arrive. Food was cold and the chicken was rubbery. Will not order again.

Had to wait nearly four hours for my meal, absolutely dreadful

Ordered at 7 pm food was delivered at 9 pm after having to chase where the order was, food arrived cold. After lodging a complaint with just eat the restaurant responded with 'sorry the order was late we were busy' busy doesn't equate to a good enough reason as to why a £50 order arrived cold

Very disappointed with the chips we couldn’t eat them as they were dry, and they looked like a day old and re heated the egg fried rice was dark and no egg visible.

Fresh vegetables tender meat maybe a little bland. could have been hotter.

Food was not prawn balls tasted recorded no prawn all hard batter . Curry was ridiculously hot struggled to eat any of it .

Bang on keep up the good work, second time and you delivered. 10/10 very pleased. Certainly quality exceeds quantity not the biggest of servings but the quality is great. Keep up the great service.

Make sure you check the vegetarian dishes before eating them! All three dishes contained chunks of chicken!

Late delivery, first delivery and last

order was wrong! ordered two rice they were both missing, received something we didn't order. Chips were appalling.

Very good quality and will order again. We expected a lengthy delivery time with it being Christmas Eve.

The app said the food was delivered but it was not, it came twenty minutes later, we called the restaurant and they said it was on the way but they were a bit rude. They also forgot the chicken fried rice. What we had was nice but only just warm. Not great and charged me nearly £8 for rice they didn’t deliver

1st order from kings and I have to say the best I have tasted so far in this area, just phoned them to say how good the food is. Hopefully the standard will remain 10/10 special curry was delicious and nicely spiced
