Boiled rice was very watery tasting. Chicken curry the chicken tasted like it was boiled first then curry sauce mixed in, 1st time ordered from here will be the last

Shocking! Shocking shocking! I’m not one to leave bad reviews but I had to after the way the guy on the phone spoke to us. Nothing but attitude and POOR service. Swearing. Hanging the phone up. I don’t know why he was so angry but maybe he should stay at home and not come in to work. “King’s Chinese”. Rename it to Child Chinese. No experience/Childish behaviour.

We ordered late, so that might explain some of the issues; the starter selection is sparse for what it is. One satay stick, one rib. The prawn toast was chewy and greasy and just unpleasant. Spring rolls were pretty good, nice crunch. The food quality was generally poor. Dumplings had no dip of any kind. The 'peking' sauce was basically just pure bbq sauce. It was okay for being that, but poor for being peking. I rarely leave poor reviews, so for that, I'm sorry. But we won't be ordering again, unfortunately. It's a shame because we need more Chinese Takeaway in Kettering, but this isn't the one :(

Food was over cooked, chicken balls non existent, chips and prawn toast chewy and full of grease. Won’t be ordering again. £60 I should of set alight 😂

The food wasn't even warm, whole order needed to be heated back up, took 1hr 40min from ordering to delivery... Quality of food wasn't great either, duck wasnt crispy & already shredded, not alot of duck either, enough for 3 wraps!!!!!! I won't be ordering from them again, I've requested a refund

I order here all the time never had a problem before tonight. Pretty much all the food I order was cold other the roast pork chow mien was cold and greasy, egg fried rice was stone cold, salt and pepper ribs was pretty much bone no meat and again cold. Even the sauce were barely warm. the chicken balls which were very greasy but at least they was hot! At least cans of cokes were warm though.

Ribs was about 3 ribs cut up into little pieces meat in the house special rice was not cooked properly and the spring rolls was full of grease that it all dropped out the end at least a tablespoon of grease in each complained and all they say is it’s just east problem

Not sure what meat is in the won tuns it tasted like sausage did not taste good the chips tasted like oven chips again not nice

Maximum time on order 30-35 minutes, distance to vendor 11mins, order received 1hour 20mins later. Food was cold, unsavoury. Being an emergency health worker, I had to be late to work. The customer service was so poor, very abrupt and curt individual. They do not provide cutlery. Today’s service was a huge departure from the standards I had experienced with them before. I hope it is a one-off and they can take the feedback and get back on track.

Ordered at 7 pm food was delivered at 9 pm after having to chase where the order was, food arrived cold. After lodging a complaint with just eat the restaurant responded with 'sorry the order was late we were busy' busy doesn't equate to a good enough reason as to why a £50 order arrived cold

Very disappointed with the chips we couldn’t eat them as they were dry, and they looked like a day old and re heated the egg fried rice was dark and no egg visible.

Fresh vegetables tender meat maybe a little bland. could have been hotter.

Food was not prawn balls tasted recorded no prawn all hard batter . Curry was ridiculously hot struggled to eat any of it .

Make sure you check the vegetarian dishes before eating them! All three dishes contained chunks of chicken!

Very good quality and will order again. We expected a lengthy delivery time with it being Christmas Eve.

The app said the food was delivered but it was not, it came twenty minutes later, we called the restaurant and they said it was on the way but they were a bit rude. They also forgot the chicken fried rice. What we had was nice but only just warm. Not great and charged me nearly £8 for rice they didn’t deliver

1st order from kings and I have to say the best I have tasted so far in this area, just phoned them to say how good the food is. Hopefully the standard will remain 10/10 special curry was delicious and nicely spiced

Food was great, on time and hot. Unfortunately the delivery driver decided he would spit/flem on one of my plant pots by my front door before I answered (caught on camera) so collection only from this point on!

Food was a few minutes late, it was marked as delivered 3 minutes before it was actually delivered causing me to ring restaurant who confirmed it is still on its way. No bag to keep the food hot so crispy duck was luke warm and and by the time we ate rice and S&S chicken it was cold. Very disappointed.

We never really have any issues with the food, the only downfall with the food is that they have changed the chicken balls and they are smaller than McDonald’s nuggets and taste of nothing. The reason I’ve come to put a review on is because the man who always answers the phone is damn right rude and disrespectful always has been and always will be but we do enjoy the food here but eat time we call the more rude he gets. It’s extremely unprofessional and makes me want to take my custom some where else

After 2 hours i called them, to be told order hadnt been printed. Offered a refund but would be tomorrow?? I asked them to send the food and it arrived 45 mins later. Didnt get any freebies/discount etc. It was ok, had better but ive also had worse. Fortune cookie packets were open, not sure why. The thai pork was pretty tasty and had a good kick.

Nice soup and Singapore noodles but the beef curry was awful just like water with no taste and rubbery

Not good at all, really disappointed. Salt and chilli chicken had a curry taste, the vegetable spring rolls were just wet beansprouts. The only okay part was the chow mein but it had parts that tasted burnt. Won't be ordering from them again.

Obsalutelly poor service! The food was less then usual and obsalutelly not tasty!! Before was good, maybe staff is changed.

Doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Waited 2hrs for my order. The most obnoxious, vile excuse of a human continually screamed down the phone at me that my order had been delivered. When finally accepting that I had no food, I had to scream at them to demand they process a refund. Apparently I had to do that. Or I had to wait until tomorrow. Or I had to get dressed and go to the shop for my money because they don’t do refunds back to cards!! Oh, or I could wait a further 2hrs for the order to be re-cooked. Vile, vile place. Used to be a decent place until 12 months ago when it was taken over… I’d rather die of starvation than have to deal with these people ever again! Thank you to the lovely lady who came to the right house and gave me a cash refund eventually

Absolutely terrible. I ordered beef chow mien and it had sweet and sour sauce in it . The beef was like rubber . The man on the phone is arrogant and rude .

Food was as average as you get. Meat was fairly hard to come by in the dish. The meat that was there seemed to be the stringy offcuts. Chips were different varieties in the same bag. Some were undercooked. Crispy wings weren't crispy they were just hard.

My partner & I regularly use this chinese as the food is usually lovely and excellent value, it's also close to home. However in the last few months we have noticed that some of the dishes we order regularly have declined in quality, making them quite unpleasant to eat and the majority of the dish goes in the bin. We always order chips and they used to be beautifully cooked & full of flavour, but the last few times they have been over cooked and dry. The chap behind the counter that takes the orders is also quite unpleasant. He's snappy, rude & obnoxious every single time we either go in to order or call the order in over the phone. He either needs some further training in customer service or putting in the kitchen out of the way of the public. They have decided in the last few months to charge 10 pence for a carrier bag, so we started taking our own because balancing our dinner on our heads on the way home isn't a viable option and we're not happy about paying 10p for a silly little bag. The chap behind the counter doesn't like this and gets funny when we say no to the charge that he puts on the bill without asking first. Such a shame as this takeaway restaurant used to be amazing.

Last few months the take away has been very poor i have rang up several times to complain.This Friday just gone food was awful meals missing and was all freezing cold and curries all tasted the same.Rang to complain which they said the would give me a refund but a week later still waiting!! Won't be using again feel like they have let me down as I was a very loyal customer to them.

Generic “Chinese food for the English palate”. Not much to choose from if you want authentic Chinese food. Mostly deep fried and the usual sauces dripping in sugar, none of which I’ve experienced in China or Hong Kong. Soggy tofu and broccoli finished off another boring local overpriced Chinese disaster.

My friend found a fly in her spare ribs. Absolutely disgusting.🤢

Food was not edible, egg fried rice was stodgy, Ribs were suppose to be in bbq sauce hardly any sauce and tasted disgusting, Chips dry, Nothing about the meal was nice all went in the bin total waste of money

Not the best chow mein, did have a strange taste to it. Gave me the wrong Beef dish and charged extra at the door compared to prices on the menu for what I ordered. Really quick delivery however, and the chips are amazing.

Ordered beef curry and chicken balls from here. Reasonable price, quick delivery and very polite driver. However the reason I rate this 2 stars as the food quality seems very poor. The beef looks nothing like beef should and has a texture akin to lumpy bubblegum and isn't pleasant by any stretch of the imagination. The curry sauce was very very bland and gelatinous. And the chicken balls were extremely greasy and not very good. Apologies to the staff for this review. It's not my intention to bad mouth you guys or what you do, and I mean no malice, but there is definitely an issue with your food quality which I feel needs urgently addressed. Won't be ordering again guys, all the best for the future :)

Having tried others, King's remains the best quality takeaway in the Kettering area. It did take just over an hour for the delivery to arrive though.

Excellent Chinese meal....consistently good food and excellent delivery service, cannot fault Kings.

Best place to go for a Chinese never had a issue always had a good meal, prices are not to bad so will always go there

I was advised by a family member that this Chinese was the best in Kettering and they was correct, I can’t actually say I’ve had a better Chinese anywhere better than this place. Every meal came perfectly cooked and tasted great.

Living on Dryden Street, I've got two Chinese takeaways at the bottom of the street, just metres away and Kings at the other end, quite a bit further away. I always go to Kings. Don't get me wrong here, I know better places like Sun Wah and Wah Hong in Bicester (you can't beat them) but I've tried most of the places in town and Kings is the best Chinese takeaway I've found. Also, Flames is right nextdoor. The best Kebab in town. So if there's a few of you wanting different things, head for Rockingham Road. There's also two Pizza places and an Indian right next door to each other. We're spoilt for choice.

If the rice is not hot enough please let us know because hot is different everyone，let me know I can make it hot hot ，and the curry sauce is small we use a 7oz cup how come only three table spoon ？If it’s happen let me know I will sent you a 12oz instead

i ordered singapore fried rice and curry sauce.. i asked for rice hotter than normal.. .. was charged 50p extra , so beware... curry sauce was so small.. maybe 3 table spoons.. disappointed. i have had better from them before. whats going on...?

The lady who answered the phone was very rude. I asked her for some suggestion to know what is popular. She wasn't helpful at all and after I placed the order she said. It's ur choice in a sarcastic way. And was cutting me off without hearing me out. Very poor customer service. This is definitely not how someone should be treating valuable customers.

For a Chinese takeaway the food is good! Places at home are a bit average if not crappy and just oily so I purposely drive to Kettering to come here (and it’s still hot when I get home). Good choice, quick to serve (I’ve never preordered over the phone) and not had a bad dish so far. Prices are pretty standard as they come.

Took 1hr. Wen got here food was cold. I had to heat in microwave. Wen i phoned them they was rude to me about it too. So i said as from now i wont be coming back. Also i ordered pl duck not lemon duck. Good job guys lol

Absolutely disgusting Chinese, chicken curry wasn't curry, it was lumpy slime. Took 1 hour and 20 minutes to come & when it arrived it was cold,not impressed. Would not recommend this place to anyone!

Delicious food! Sweet and sour prawn balls are the best as they are simply whole prawns dipped in batter and fried - fantastic!
