We returned yesterday, and were again delighted with the warm welcome from Vince & Mel, who served a filtered coffee for myself and tea for my wife, as we chatted with another of their "regular" customers. The "Best Toasties on the Planet" - which we ordered with a shared portion of chips, were as wonderful as ever. The socially-distanced tables are kept spotless, regularly wiped down.

I arrived here on Saturday afternoon with 14 - 8 year olds for some hot food after spending some time in the woods. Vince and his team had kindly laid out a large table for us and prepared hot food and drinks for us all. They were super kind and patient as these kids were balls of energy. It was the perfect end to a great day and thanks again to you all for being so flexible and helpful helping me to arrange. Vince even handed out ice lollies as a treat after eating the hot food which was more than I asked for. All in all everyone had a great time. Its a great location but more importantly great staff. Thanks again.

Dropped in for a coffee while on one of our daily walks and ended up staying for a sandwich lunch. A very nice tuna melt toastie, a packed club sandwich, two filter coffees and a bottle of water - all for less than £13. Who says a cuppa is just a cuppa?! I had a rare afternoon off for myself on a beautiful autumnal day! Didn't even know this little place existed but so glad I found it. A minute's walk from Ruislip Woods if you want a warm drink on the go (like me); or you can sit out in the sunshine in their patio area if you prefer, right next to a little park; or tuck in a while & warm up inside. Kings Café in Ruislip is a regular "must visit" for my wife and I - and again today, we had one of their marvellous, incredible, amazing, not-to-be-missed "toasties" - we had ham, cheese, red onion, tomato in granary bread. The only "problem" is that we SO like the "toasties" that we have YET to try the other appetizing-items on their menu [apart from, on our previous visit their renowned "lemon drizzle cake"]. Coffee is nice too - and served in a decent-sized cup. Always made to feel welcome by manager Vince and his crew - so will you!!!! {I originally wrote this review in 2015 - but the latest visit confirms everything I said then - and my "Toastie" was just as good. This excellent cafe is one of the best kept secrets in Ruislip. It is tucked away near the Playing Fields and is in a brilliant location. Don't expect a huge variety on the menu. Kings Cafe does what it says. It is a cafe on Kings College Road in Ruislip. The food is always fresh and inexpensive. Service is friendly and the place is clean. It is housed in Kings College pavilion. The actual indoors eating area is quite small although the patio outside is very pleasant, overlooking the playing fields that are thankfully still available for everybody to enjoy. We regularly use the caff if we can't be bothered to cook. It is a favourite for workmen and can run out of ingredients when busy. It does get very busy at times, especially on Saturdays when there loads of people using the playing fields. My advice is to get there early if you want the pick of the full menu.

Friendly staff greeted us on arrival and quickly offered us jacket potatoes which had just finished cooking. We wanted to try the club sandwich but unfortunately a lack of chicken meant we had to opt for the BLT instead, with chips and tap water (which to be honest could have been colder!) For the price we paid the food was lovely and service was good with tea served after our sandwiches. I have to admit I wasn't blown away by the setting (it's not really a park so much as a running track with a skate park next to it) but if you're looking for cheap and cheerful this is the place to come.

We wanted somewhere local to hold a small party for a family occasion and have been quite a few times to the Kings Cafe during the week/ends and have always loved going here, however we saw that they were advertising their services for evening BBQ parties providing a full catering service as well as hire of the hall next door. Speaking with Vince it was clear he was very passionate about it and would love the opportunity to cater for our group. He offered a good selection on the menu and we booked out the venue inviting roughly 60 guests. We were so fortunate with the weather for late March as it was glorious sunshine, with the outlook from the hall we had an amazing backdrop of a sunset over the playing fields which really made the evening. The food which Vince and his family served was brilliant, the time they had spent marinating and preparing was evident and all of the guests loved it. We were also able to provide our own drink and deserts with no fuss at all. Vince and his team were only too happy to help and accommodate. The venue room is roughly 15m square with good access, clean toilets and free car parking provided too.We would have no quibble in recommending the Kings Cafe for a evening party or for the cafe. An all round pleasing experience for which we are very grateful.

I have eaten in King's Café on several occasions; it has a number of regular customers as it is close to the woods where people often walk their dogs and the surrounding fields are used for a variety of sports so home fans congregate and away fans follow. I find the menu typical of a café - sandwiches, rolls, baked potatoes, chips and "English breakfast" items etc. The food is always freshly prepared to order and I have never had a bad meal. Like a previous reviewer I have, on occasions, found that they have run out of an item - but hey so do supermarkets! They are always able to recommend alternatives and I have never been charged for an item I didn't have. However I didn't just want to review the café...READ ON Last year I was looking for a caterer for my wife's birthday and asked Vince - the owner - if he could recommend anyone. I was surprised to find that he and his wife, Nicky, OFFER CATERING SERVICES at other venues too. They came up with menu suggestions at very competitive prices and we "gave them a try". They delivered the food to the venue and laid it all out very nicely on proper plates and in serving bowls etc. and even added little touches like linen cloths and flowers on the buffet table. All the guests commented on the excellent quality and we were impressed with the quantity and the price! This year my mother died and we needed a caterer for the funeral...I looked no further than Vince and Nicky and again they did not disappoint - even at relatively short notice. If you need a caterer in Ruislip I highly recommend this team!

It is obvious that they care truly about the business and their customers. The food is always presented very nicely, and tastes even better, with a vast selection of food to choose from. I personally suggest the chips. They have to be the greatest chips I have ever had! Crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. Decided to come here Saturday afternoon for brunch after reading the excellent reviews. Pretty disappointed to be honest. Came in at 12.30, had a look at the menu, I decided to have the full monty breakfast and my friend the kings special breakfast. My friend went up to order while I sat at the table. I heard the young girl saying to him they couldn't do the full monty or the kings special.. she turned to clarify with the guy doing the cooking (her dad maybe?, I got the feeling they were his kids due to the way he was speaking to them!)I heard him shout quite rudely "well it is 20 to 1!!" As though it was our fault they were running out of breakfast stuff. Told us they could do us 2 normal breakfasts.. which were ok, nothing special. Didn't have mushrooms or hash browns but still charged full price. Presentation was nothing like the pictures on here. Overall we definitely didn't find it as friendly or as good as the previous reviews. The young girls serving also seemed quite nervous and unsure. The menu is pretty small too, basically breakfast stuff, sandwhiches/toasties and baked potato's - so it's pretty unacceptable to be running low on ANYTHING on a Saturday when you're only open for 6 hours and your menus already limited- better stock planning perhaps. Rather than making rude loud comments when someone comes in and orders breakfast at 12.30!

I have never been to Ruislip fields before but found myself there last Sunday morning in the cold and mud waiting for an away game for my son's U13 football match against Ruislip Rangers. Whenever we leave the confines of West London on mystery tour out to the edges of Middlesex, I always ask if there is a decent tea place. My prayers were answered when we parked across the road from the Kings Cafe. They provided a cracking bacon and egg sandwich, good tea and friendly smiles which only served to increase my optimistic mood about the impending game. Unfortunately for the Rangers, the result was not as good as my breakfast! Thoroughly recommended to ease the pains of early Sunday mornings!

Today I came across this wonderful cafe by accident. I was in walking my dog ,Rodger in the woods when he vanished, after half an hour of panic I phoned my husband to come and help me look for him, just after that a lovely man called me to say he had my dog, he gave me directions to this cafe where Rodger had turned up. They had realised he was on his own and called the number on his collar. I rang my husband and arranged to meet him there. I arrived at the cafe to find Rodger being very well taken care of, spoilt even. The owner of the cafe who I now know as Vince was wonderful, he could see the relief in my face. My husband arrived and we enjoyed a good strong coffee while Rodger enjoyed lost of fuss and attention. We will be returning here very soon with my family as the menu looked amazing and Vince and the other staff where so welcoming and caring. I can't thank them enough for saving my life today and Reuniting me with my little Rodger

A breakfast from King's Cafe is the best start I can have to a day. Never fails to provide the warmth and energy I need for my morning commute. The staff are very friendly and recognize a reoccurring face. I've been eating here for a while now, hope to keep it that way.

We visited Kings Café today after a long journey home from Sussex. The sun was shining and we had a lovely lunch, BLO (bacon, lettuce and onion) and tuna mayonnaise with salad sandwich which were delicious. The café is set in Kings College Playing Fields, Ruislip close to Ruislip Woods and is an idyllic location. You can sit outside or inside. The staff are efficient and always helpful nothing is too much for them. We recommend this little gem of a café and its lovely location.

This is an excellent and amazing café located on Kings College Road, tucked away near Kings College Playing Fields. It is on the edge of Ruislip Woods (200 yards away). We regularly lunch there after a walk in the woods or as a special treat as we did today. It is a great find! It is in a tranquil, delightful setting with views over the playing fields and a large seating area outside which catches the sun. Vince (the owner), Kerry and the rest of the team offer a warm welcome and has a happy atmosphere. If you want to lift your spirits, this is the place to come. Kings is usually open from 8am to about 3pm, seven days a week. Its menu includes a wide range of sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes and breakfasts. The food is freshly cooked and delicious. The place is spotless and sparkling. Our favourite is BLT and French fries or a jacket potato with tuna mayonnaise.

i was walking my dog in the woods and discovered this lovely little cafe. Their BLT baguette with a basket of chips was the best I've had and was presented excellently. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic locals pub, highly recommended. We moored at black Jacks lock and were in need of a hearty sunday roast after a long day of boating. The Harefield provided and then some. Fantastic food, friendly service and decent prices.

This shop is brilliant. Amazingly friendly and helpful staff and you can take all your old bottles of olive oil, shampoo, washing up liquid, shower gel etc etc and get them refilled. I would highly recommend it. They do lovely soaps and beauty products in there too.
