King Street Fisheries in Wakefield

Very busy on a Friday so bit of a wait. But very good fish n chips.

We had our family visiting on Saturday and went to King Street for a fish and chip family lunch. The food was excellent, as it always is, and the service was great. Great prices too. Thoroughly recommended

Just been for fish and chips, they are excellent every time, always freshly cooked. Be prepared to queue but they’re well worth it. Fish and chips cost £5.70, brilliant value for a good sized portion, I won’t go anywhere else.

Can't go wrong here, beautiful food every single time, prices are great at under £6 for fish and chips. always a big queue even before it opens, that says enough.

Just had a long walk to get fish & chips as a treat - closed!?! Thanks for nothing! To be honest, probably won't bother coming back again if they are going to be closed contrary to their opening hours. Have they closed down for good???

After reading the reviews I popped in to a warm welcome. Ordered my food and chatted about break cakes (Buns) I can't believe I've not been before now omg batter is spot on fish bits are beautifully cooked and the curry sauce is spot on too. I will return .

Absolutely the best chippy around, we travel 35 miles so that shows how fabulous they are. Great friendly staff and owner chatty. Highly recommend you won’t be disappointed 👍🏻 great price too.

Good size portions. Batter is crispy and not excessively thick. Be prepared for a wait as it is popular. Only thing that I would want different is shorter but thicker pieces of fish rather than long thin ones. Cant find a local chippy that does that though

Love king Street fisheries the fish and chips are the best by far the batter on the fish is just perfect and the fish is so white and flakey. The owner is always polite and welcoming with friendly staff, highly recommend this place definitely the best in normanton Wouldn't go anywhere else for fish and chips. Possibly the best fish and chips in Normy..... Fresh cooked, which, having been a fryer myself, is the only way to serve a quality product. None of this sitting around in warming cupboards, batter, fry, serve. Perfect. Tiny shop, often queing out of the door, well worth the visit. Friendly staff, good price and an owner who appreciates the finer points of Metal. Smart as chips, in fact!

Tasty and inexpensive the only downside is you might have to queue.
