King George 5th in Walsall

This is probably one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to. Delicious food, affordable prices, short waiting times.

Gin & Rocky really look after you with great service came to King George and the Desi Lamb to share is the one ,my friends absolutely loved it ,also a good selection of drinks was a bit of a travel but was well worth the visit defiantly will be back

Great large choice of alcohol. Great value for money on the tasty curries and mix grills Fantastic seating area. Including outdoors Minimum car parking Large and numerous TVs for the sports and music crowds Snooker table.. you can’t go wrong 😎🙌

We went during the Covid time and included having to wear masks, on entry we had to sign in the book, get our temperature took and scan for the NHS app, all not a problem during these testing times. Service was good, very friendly bar staff, the place was clean and not too expensive. My wife had the Queens platter which was very nice and plenty of food on it with masala chips, I had Chicken tikka curry with rice and naan bread, all the food was very nice. We would go again

We went on a Thursday evening and what can I say the food was so salty that we couldn’t finish it. Think the cooks must of had a heavy hand that day. When I got home I was drinking pints of water as I became constantly thirsty. I took home some food for my parter hoping it would be better and nether to say it was salty as well. Won’t be going back if they keep this up.

The place itself was actually really nice but unfortunately, that's where it ends! I ordered a bhuna, it arrived at the table full to the top of the bowl with oil, I've had many bhunas in the past, but this was absolutely tasteless and WAY too oily . We were given no cutlery, so when we asked if we needed to get it ourselves from somewhere, we were told "We don't have any clean at the Moment" then we were given knives, and 5 minutes later, they brought spoons over, but never bothered to offer us forks at any point. We weren't asked once how our meal was, or if they could get us anything, even trying to make eye contact with someone to ask for a fork was hard work! Not a nice experience at all, bad customer service is a deal breaker for us, there are plenty of nicer places in the area.

Visited on a very busy Monday night during the eat out to help out. Could not have been more impressed, food was amazing, staff were cheerful and helpful. Loved the atmosphere, brilliant service and food. Can’t wait for my next visit.

We were recommended this pub and so dropped in. Not disappointed food was great service prompt great ambience, we were made to feel very welcome. Looking forward to returning soon

Ordered all vegetarian food. To be honest food was very poor. Too bland. No taste of any spices. Nans were chewy. Tried 1st and last time. Heard it had good reviews but sorry not for me.

Ordered delivery due to covid 19. Food arrived, can't say if it was early or late as no ETA given. Mixed grill contained really stringy chicken, and overall not that good. Also ordered chicken noodles, which resembled super noodles and tasted the sane, with the addition of a few peppers chucked in to beef it up. Lastly was quoted £15 & over for free delivery which order exceeded this, order was £18.45, but charged £21.50 on delivery.... over charged for meal by £3.05. Would I recommend ... NO. There are a lot better outlets, which don't rip you off.

Ordered Food for an at home Covid Birthday Celebration; Veg noodles, Veg Manchurian, Chilli Paneer (THE BEST), masala chips, buffalo wings, chicken Tikka, Fish pakoreh - came with salad and dips. Good value for money I put an order in with Rocky a day prior and he really wen your of his way for us Thanks so much!

So as many of the better known desi bars/restaurants are closed completely saw that this place still had food for collection delivery. So ordered a mixed grill and lamb curry. The fish pakora was just tasteless oozing oil. The sheekh kebab, wings and malai chicken had no taste. The lamb chops were mostly fat but were tender although not spicy. The lamb curry was swimming in oil. Was very disappointed given the local competition are way ahead in taste and quality of the food

In this time of covid 19 I ordered a takeaway and collected it.. I had the king sizzler, mixed biriyani with a lamb balti... the biriyani and balti were beautiful lovely soft meats and great taste. The king sizzler wasn’t so good. It lacked taste and spice it only had 4 chicken wings it really was tasteless and wasn’t worth the money. Especially now with many places closed you really want to find a place that’s worth the money.

Went on a visit to the KGV with a couple of pals for an impromtu mid week curry, what a pleasant surprise our host on the night was Gin who provided detail info on what the KGV was all about. The place was tastefully decorated and very clean and well presented throughout. Facilities included a bar with pool table and dartboard, several quieter eating areas with rooms available for family or group meals and sports TV available if required we watchd the Wolves Man utdFA cup replay whilst dining . Menu was well set out with accurate descriptions of what was on offer I decided on the chicken Jalfrezi which was excellent and this was accompanied by a freshly made coriander naan portion was substanial and i cleared the bowl, my pals had fish curry and chillie chips which was likewise demolished we also decide to try the sizzing platter as someone on the next table had just had one delivered this included fish pakoras, lamb kofta, tikka chicken, sheek kebab etc all good but just too much to eat, however, Gin to the rescue with a takeaway container which was filled at the table so we were certain that the food was from our table. The KGV is fully licensed with an extensive range of drinks (a pint of Cobra at just £3,20) served with a smile. I did find the car park on the small side for a busy house of this size however there is a morrisons supermarket across the road. Situated just off J9 of the M6 so if your in the area give it a try I am sure you will not be dissappointed.

We recently visited for a family meal. There were 10 of us and we all ordered and paid separately. All of our food came out quick and very well presented. The staff were all polite helpful and friendly. The food is extremely good value for money and very fresh. The pub / restaurant was very clean and our table was cleared away as soon as we had finished eating and our glasses were taken away as soon as emptied. Overall we were all very happy with everything. Would definitely recommend.

We visited for the first time recently and were very impressed The staff are friendly and the place is nicely decorated and clean There is a good selection on the menu, we ordered the large mixed grill which came with a naan bread and at £16 was excellent value We enjoyed the food and although we could not eat all of the food and the staff were happy to bag it for us to take away We thoroughly recommend this place and will be returning

Ordered Chicken Bhuna, chicken was juicy and tender, curry was full of flavour and the garlic nann was a good size. Service was quick and welcoming. Will be back again soon.

Beautiful food, generous portion sizes, especially the desserts!!! This also the only Indian restaurant with a variety of desserts!!! Staff are so welcoming, helpful and accommodating! The venue is pristine and cozy and is quiet enough for a good conversation.. Will definitely be coming again!!!

Finally made a visit on recommendation from friends and so glad I did , went with my father prior to the Walsall fc match and shared a monster mixed grill . It really was a monster ! Easily enough for the two of us and we are big eaters . Other patrons in the bar were amazed at the size of the portion when it was brought out . Food was very tasty and plenty of choice on the menu . This was 20 quid and came with a naan bread We both had a cobra , which at 3 quid a pint is very reasonable . Management and staff were very friendly and asked us how was the food and care that we enjoyed it . The place was very well attended by football fans of both teams and was a real nice atmosphere . Management informed us of plans to extend outside area and have outside bbq facility which will be a major plus . Can’t wait to visit again and bring more first timers !

Eat here regularly food beer and staff get better can't wait until Saturday to get back in there always a great atmosphere

Absolutely rude management. Chicken was pink then when informed them they said that it wasn’t and it was because it was chicken thigh not breast. I asked for a refund and got told I needed to learn manners. Woman management is an absolute moron who doesn’t know customer service!! AVOID!!!

When ordering meal for me and other half the manager (female) was on the phone, we was also called liars from the male and female managers saying the chicken was cooked when it was PINK!! and told us we needed to learn manners after asking for a refund!! and also told friend that he needed to pay for something what he ordered, when he was eating ( paid in full) total put off!! ( left meal) .... spoken down to!! When ordering beer from bar you have to pay first before getting your beer!! .... also when ordering asking for FULL NAME!! ... for your meal??!! Clearly not welcome there wasn’t a host on door to welcome you and seat you!!.... appalling management... WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! ... if you could put no * I would of .... WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!

Absolutely amazing! Best grill so far and i have eaten in quite a few!! Very big portions and decent prices! You will not be disappointed and friendly staff

Family birthday yesterday and again the staff excelled themselves, the food was to die for, we had a mix of curries, sides and mixed grills, all thrteen of us had more than enough to eat as the portions are more than average, Marie one of our waitresses and the other young lady (sorry didnt catch her name) couldnt do enough for us, really pleasant and friendly!

Having eaten in most of all Walsall Indian cuisine restaurants I can honestly say that the George is by far and away the best!!!! Can’t get enough

Wow just wow..perfect food. Every mouthful was amazing. Four of us shared the largest mixed grill a king prawn curry and paneer shashlick. Lots of food and all tastes amazing. Great price and quality will be back soon

4 x travelling Oxford Utd fans - parked near by for the match and found this place for a quick pint before going to the ground. The selection of lagers was ok, as was that of keg beers (a nice pint of Banks's Mild), but no real ales on pump or bottle - as was mentioned on the CAMRA website.

The food was amazing the King Sizzler. The best grill I’ve ever had I highly recommend this place keep up the good work. Staff and service was on point. Definitely will come back.

Both Jin and Rocky (owners) helped to organise a surprise birthday party for my husband. They were both very accommodating and advising me on menu options. Saturday went very smoothly and staff were on hand and nothing was too much for them. The food came out n time and was fresh all guests comments on the food and said how it was all cooked to perfection. The Lamb Chops just melted in your mouth and no food eaten with no waste. I would most definitely recommend this venue for anyone thinking about have a intimate party or just going out for good food.

Been going to this place for the last 10 years since the new owners have took over they have done wonders with the place the food is fantastic great selection of drinks and always feel welcomed whenever we go

Well, I have nothing but great things to report about the King George V. The mixed grill is far superior to any of the grills I've had at other places with all of the meat seasoned and cooked to perfection. I had a lamb dhansak, which is a really tasty Parsi classic, and I don't think I've ever had so much tender and succulent meat in a curry before. The Staff were great, especially the lovely lady who runs the place (sorry, I completely forgot you're name).

Decided to try here after seeing it on Facebook,wasn't disappointed ,it was lovely ,we had starters and main meal big mistake huge portions, went with husband,son and daughter in law, starters are huge we had chicken pakora ,masala fish, fish pakora, and tandoori king prawns all excellent, main meals we all had lamb, lamb rogan josh, very nice a bit hot for me but lovely, husband and daughter in law had lamb curry just right, son had lamb rara a mix of lamb chunks and mince very hot , would definitely recommend and will be returning

Having received recommendations from a friend the food here is to die for. Top notch quality cooked to order and piping hot, my husband had lamb biryani which was jam packed full of lamb, I had chicken tikka curry hot which was amazing and the masala fries are plentiful. Happy to do takeaway if you can’t finish your mains.

The food is that good we have to go every week!! Bar staff & service excellent. Slowly trying every dish. All the food we've had so far is tasty, well cooked & well presented.

The food is to die for! Id give Rocky and his chefs 10*, i ordered lamb saag and chappatis plus a onion bhaji starter, ive never tasted food so good the lamb melted in your mouth!

Great family pub. Ace on Saturdays after the Walsall fc home games. Food excellent, mixed grills ace. Kids love the curry's. Beers and spirits very reasonable prices. Love the place. Rar Rar Rar.

First time here today for mixed grill and few pints inside is done out lovely staff very helpful and pleasant food is of very good quality and quantity would diffently recommend and be back

Had a few drinks and food here fantastic pub good food really big portions and lovely I would recommend this place to anyone just a shame there was no entertainment for a bank holiday weekend only thing that let it down also safe to take children

Great find near to football ground. Loads of curry dishes at vfm prices. Large portions. Good price on drinks. Friendly staff. Eat in or out. Will visit again.

Went here when visiting the nearby football ground and what great food. Plenty of curries on offer for about £5. I had a peri peri chicken wrap and it was too much for me to eat alone, had to share it. Tasted lovely too.

Me and my partner honestly love this little pub find. My partners been a few times with his mates to watch the football (they have so many tv’s it’s great) and he loves it. On another return visit we went when the England game was on we got there an hour before kick off and it was pretty empty we had quite a lot of seats to choose from. The food is always outstanding you can’t fault it and it’s great service! The staff are great and always smiling! Thanks again - we love coming back!

We only live less than a 5 minute walk away and we've lived here for nearly 2 years and never been before... what a mistake we have been missing out! this place is amazing! great great food - nice atmosphere and I love the idea of a pool table in there to! Food is a great price and great size - smaller sizes so you don't seem to waste anything but you are full at the end of it. The only criticism is my chicken in the butter chicken wasn't all chicken breast it was off a leg (i believe ) and that part of the chicken isn't my favourite but it isn't the end of the world. ( I would re order it) The pool table is only 50p per game which is so good and makes you wanna play loads of games because you aren't getting ripped off. We went on the night of the boxing so we thought it would be rammed but we went early enough that it wasn't and I'm glad. Thanks for the great food!

Was not expecting the size of portion I got for the price I paid. Tasted great. The place itself has plenty of seats where you can watch one of there many Tv's or use it as a pub. Friendly atmosphere. Will definitely call again.

Love this place great to go with family always made welcome food is beautiful eaten here load of time and never been disappointed the monster mix grill is highly recommended it is big so could share between 4 easy by far the best food in the area

Myself and family have been here twice so far and will be going back again.. Food is delicious every time. Especially the lamb chops and prawns. Pub is decorated nicely, is clean and has a nice little garden for kids to run around in. Cheap prices for food and drink.
