King Chef in Mansfield

Well, what can I say? First time ordering from King Chef and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh and hot. None of that glutinous after taste that you find in some Chinese meals. I'm over 70 and this was the best Chinese takeaway I've ever had. Will definitely order from them again. Thank you to the chef.

food is usually good but rice was hard. chicken undercooked hardly any meat and the chow mein was spaghetti that you out with bolognese. £50 down the drain pictures to prove it's all in the bin

Every time I eat from here I think I’ve found my favourite then I try something else and I’m amazed. The hot and sour soup is another level of fantastic. And tonight’s Sezchuan Beef so tender and full of flavour. They don’t fill your box with vegetables if it’s not part of the recipe either. ♥️

the food was delivered very quickly and the beef and broccoli was really tasty, but while the prawns were hot and the outside of the batter was ok the inside of the prawn ball the batter was not cooked through so was stodgy and unpleasant so not eaten

Food was cooked in too much chilli, couldn’t eat due to this. I’m not able to have to much spice and I couldn’t eat this. Was thrown away. The crispy wontons were not the usual ingredients and were beef inside instead of fish

Stunning food. I’ve only had hot and sour soup that good in an expensive restaurant in China Town. And it’s delivered piping hot and so fast.

We have ordered from here a few times in the past but this time 1 dish ( salt n pepper chicken ) was awful.very dry hard and overcooked we had to throw it in the bin. What a waste of money the order arrived late the lady delivery person did apologise

I placed an order tonight for 60quids worth of food. It came very quickly and we received free spring rolls with it! Which I thought was lovely. They had forgotten egg fried rice, the lady I spoke to on the phone was lovely and sorted it straight away by getting the delivery driver to bring us our rice. Not only did we receive egg fried rice, we received another bag of prawn crackers and a handful of fortune cookies!! 😃 Food was lovely and hot, service was brilliant and all the staff even the delivery drivers are the most sweetest and kind people. I highly recommend supporting this business and these lovely people x

Do not order from here, Ordered my chinese at 5:30. Got told it would come between 7:15 and 7:35. Never happened. When i phoned up they was completely unhelpful and told my my order will “probably” be 2 hours. And then was told they was gonna re heat it. when i questioned this they ended the phone and never delivered my order

I paid £17.70 for one of the smallest Chinese takeaways I’ve ever had. The prices have gone up for exceptionally smaller portions, the omelette and chips were together in one small plastic container. Very bad value for money. I use this Chinese every time but from today they have lost a customer!!!!!!

Food was ok, some parts were lukewarm when got it home, the chicken in lemon sauce was very bitter I literally couldn't eat it but the mushroom rice was lovely.

I would definitely not order again, the order wait said it would be an hour to an hour and 20 minutes, I didn’t mind waiting and it ended up being around 10 minutes early and the food was piping hot which is always a positive.However, upon trying the food the prawn crackers either tasted like dish soap or as hard as a brick, the chow mien also had a horrible after taste which was so upsetting as that is one of my favourite Chinese dishes, the rice… the rice was thick over cooked and undercooked at the same time it was so strange and overall a horrible texture and taste out of my £30 order I must have eaten the equivalent to £1 it was foul

At 52 I have had many many Chinese/Asian dining experiences, all over the world and I must say I never really held much stock in customer reviews of food. EVERYTHING is subjective as we all taste differently. That being said, and having a go at the newest thing from Chinese restaurants that I can find- the salt and pepper munchie box- I have to say that this was the single tastiest meal I have had out of a Chinese in the last 10 years. It was an assault on my tastebuds that I will not forget! Thank you.

lovely food, but delivered at 18.35..... but ordered for 19.20. So unfortunately had to reheat food when other person arrived. But i will order from here again, FOOD TASTY.

Lovely hot and fresh delivered within the eta times..really enjoyed.

Always been underwhelmed when ordered from here but due to locality I kept going back. However this time I feel the quality of food had stepped up a notch. The shredded beef was the best I’ve ever had, salt & pepper chips, chicken balls and crispy rolls were great. One negative is the prawn toast felt a bit airy and not fresh. Overall very happy and will order again.

Blown away by speed, service, temperature and quality! We chose ASAP for food to be delivered and Just Eat predicted just over an hour - which is standard and we were absolutely prepared to accept! It arrived within half that time. It was a birthday celebration which I wrote on the note and the delivery driver said “happy birthday” to my husband who’s birthday it was at the door! They even wrote “happy birthday” on the bag and included a little treat. The temperature of the food was like lava - I genuinely have no idea how they kept it so hot and fresh without teleportation as my own food cools more from pan to table. Lastly, we ordered a LOT of meat dishes. All the meat was great quality and not too fatty. It was a genuine delight and we’ve got enough leftovers for tonight too. Literally salivating and can’t wait to have it again! Thank you!

This is my favourite place. The portions are sizable, the flavours are delicious and the service is always swift. We used to have a favourite Chinese takeaway, but King Chef has absolutely outmatched them...

We’ve ordered from here before and it’s always been ok. The Kung Po chicken we ordered tonight was not very nice at all. Very watery, no spice at all. Really disappointing tasted nasty. Won’t be ordering again.

While food was nice and delivery lady polite, there is now a 10p charge for a 'bag fee'. Its getting ridiculous. £2.50 delivery, 50p service charge and now a 10p bag fee is going a step too far that I can't continue to entertain. Could buy fillet steak for what you end up paying for a meal for 1 delivered, and the bag is micro and cannot be reused.

The food tastes fantastic and the service is good (I was confused about some dishes but they cleared it up for me) - I’m not too sure what everyone else was pressed about as well as why, but I’m pretty happy with my experience so I’ll be ordering again in the future 😋

The food was horrendous! I actually can’t believe I spent over £40 for this, under cooked, even though it was delivered late, the prawns were over cooked and everything was bulked out by so much undercooked veg! Oh and no prawn crackers!!!

What has happened to this place?!?!?! Used to be my go to Chinese, very prompt, great food. However, last few orders haven't been great and tonight has just topped it off. Stood outside for 10mins trying to pay! Needless to say their machine wasn't working, End result, no food on a Sunday evening. It's a shame but I will not use this takeaway again.

Decent portion sizes, lovely food

I orded lemon chicken , but it was unedible. It was rock hard like it had been yesterday's food or really overcooked. Also the meat in the special rice was like rubber. The mixed starter was delicious and I ate that. The other 2 meals are still sat in the box in the kitchen if the restaurant wants to pick them up. Inshall not order from them again. Extremely unhappy and disappointed.
