Windmill Fish Bar in Mansfield

Our first visit to the Windmill Fish Bar having only moved to the area that day. Food was tasty and the portions were huge. We will definitely be returning.

Great food, hot and tasty! The kid boxes are a great value for money! Order came within around 30 mins, got given 2 free items for a large order! And the women on the phone was lovely and helpful when asking for an estimated delivery time. This is the only fish & chip shop we use around the area and would definitely recommend!

Every Friday night i have windmill love the food the service is good

promised a refund. lied. food went in the bin. cold. kept moving goalposts then when i told them i didnt want it they promised me a refund but went back on their word. no thanks. never again. shame really. used to love this Chippy.

hot bag of chips placed on top of pizza box, all the pizza topping was on the lid of the box not the pizza!!

I have ordered 3 times from here first time the food was cold but i thought id give them the benefit of the doubt so i ordered again and got a pizza to which was all burnt on the bottom of it and all dry then tonight we ordered again the food was cold there was brown bits in the lettuce and no butter on the jacket potato will not be ordering from them again

The food was good, but I ordered a regular chips and got a small tray with barely enough for 2 people. Must have been a small. I’d expect more for £4.50.

Delicious food very warm just amazing

Today My Son ordered large fish and large curry. When he came home, it was mini fish in box over cooked like rubber, very hard dark brown battered. Cooked in smelly oil, still stomach upset after 2 hours. Really disappointed 😞

Ordered food came to £26, but only had 25 on me...in my order I had 3 mixed meat with nann and garlic mayo, reg chips and pizza.....my wife phoned back and said take the nann bread off ( so this woukd then be under £25) .after multiply phone calls the food arrived 2hours later with just a pizza and large chips no mixed meat no garlic mayo...very disappointed

Chip’s were good good size portions

I literally order from here just for the chicken nuggets alone, they're LUSH!!!! Sooo crispy yet the chicken meat is still juicy. These are proper chicken peices too. The shop itself is clean and fresh with a new layout. The current delivery driver is AMAZING at getting food to me while still piping hot! 👏🏾 Delivery slower on a weekend but for me, that's kind of expected.

Excellent food as per usual, happy meals however didn't have a toy in for the second time

I had a message to say enjoy your food but no food was delivered and when I rang the shop they said it was only just being done so that made it even later

last time I ordered from here was awful . I got a bit of a refund , left it a few weeks and thought I'd try again . big mistake 2 meals cold , 1 meal cooked . I won't bother again .

Just tuck my delivery of my order and say I'm disappointed 1 they forgot a pizza and had to nip back for it .. 2nd the size of the donor kebabs were so small the salad consisted of 2 piece of cucumber half a slice of tomato and a bit of scabby lettuce that's the last time you will get my money windmill chippy Back to best kebab

Great food as always had chicken curry, vegetarian burger salad and garlic cheese pizza for us all. Hot food oh and two sausages for the dogs can't leave them out. Perfect the best

This place has really gone down hill recently in the last few years. On the first time I ordered a cheeseburger online a few months ago and was told me to be there 15 minutes later. Once I arrived 15 mins later all the staff was missing except from one guy putting up new tv’s for the menu’s. I then had to confirm my order again and wait AGAIN when it should have already been ready on the time I was told to arrive, especially when the place was as empty as it was. I got home to find that it was just two beef patties together without anything else in there, not even any cheese? So even with selecting everything online that I wanted and paid extra for I didn’t get! Today a few months later I ordered another cheeseburger with all the extras ect and thought they might have had their heads screwed on today but clearly not. Was just the same old crispy bone filled beef patties as last time! Unfortunately I do not have the time to be running around to complain at people. Really not impressed!

Busy went back for more food had kebab ate it so fast I nearly choked on a full tomato slice never had a kebab so nice the chips was the best I ever had even my partner keeps telling me he's exited to go back again who fantasies over a takeaway? Nothing but lovley food we love this place even went back for seconds

chips were slightly undercooked , fish didn't taste right. curry sauce didn't taste like curry sauce

I ordered chicken meat and chips. the chicken meat was inedible so got wasted, the chicken was like shoe leather, hard, and very tough.

It's a chippy. But, it's a good one.

"Under new management" fear not the new management is the old team/kitchen manager so very little has changed. The pizza is still the best in 20 miles, we travel from near Jct 29 of the M1, and it is always still fresh and hot by the time it gets home. Sometimes we pick pizza up then head to Sherwood forest or Clumber to enjoy, again always still hot. We frequently have meal deals when we visit, we like the child's pizza meal deal as you get a small pizza, chips and a can of pop, we also order standard pizzas and take them home to serve with salad.

70 minutes for delivery is a joke

Sadly the chips were horrible. the worst I have tasted in a long time and soggy... on the plus side the fish was nice. Would I have more from there? only if the chips improved. It was the first order for me from there.

Ordered Pizza with a few bits (chips onion rings, drink etc) to meet the min £15 spend. They delivered everything but the Pizza!! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Driver said another driver was on his way with said forgotten pizza. This arrived not long afterwards but both Pizza and chips were tepid by the time I came to eat them. I last ordered in October and left a review then because missing parts of my order seems to be a very regular occurrence! Not great! 😏

Where do I start, we had fish and chips with the famous garlic bread with cheese pizza again, absolutely divine! We have tried all the takeaways in warsop over the years and we just can’t stop coming back, we 100% recommend! delivery was fast as always 🔥

Food what we got was nice but we didn't get everything what we ordered. I ordered kebab meat an chips asked for salad an garlic mayo but didn't get it. We also ordered windmill special didn't get salad or pitta bread so spoilt are tea

Worse fish an chips,I ever had. And very expensive. It should be checked for its food ratings . I would give it nil. No wonder it was empty at 6pm. That tells a story.

Was given between 6.50pm and 7.10pm and my order still hadn't came for 7.30pm so I tryed to ring and was like phone was off keeped going straight to answer phone so after 17 times I got intouch on just eat and was told 25 mins later that my food was on the way then they updated the time of arrival for 8pm but did not notify me befour hand

Rang takeaway 30 minutes after time to be told food was ready just waiting for a driver. It was another 20 minutes before food arrived. It was just warm.

Over an hour late and food was cold

Second consecutive order where we’ve had to ring to ask where our order was having waiting beyond the time given for the order to be delivered. Tonight we were told the order ticket hadn’t been printed so the order hadn’t been done. Clearly an issue here with ordering online and ensuring that they are delivered on time, if at all if we hadn’t phoned 🤷🏻‍♀️

The food came early by 20 minutes with the delivery driver saying he was driving up and down trying to find us, meaning the order would have been even earlier. The food came cold, leaving us to warm it in the microwave, something you shouldn't need to do when paying close to £30. Ordered large curry got small. Overall very disappointed

Unfortunately I didn’t get my drink delivered. There has been issues with this in the past on a couple of occasions. Disappointing.

Ordered a chicken pizza and and came with loads of onion and Peper. No where on the item description does it say anything other than chicken

Terrible, dry tasteless chips, gravy like water no taste, battered scallop soggy, girl serving no smile or interaction, won't be going back

3 visits in 2 weeks same meal 3 different prices. Same young girl served me on the last 2 occasions 3 days apart. Get it right FFS.

Food is nice here it is our local chip shop. However the prices have increased so dramatically, there are much more affordable places in the area. We can not afford to go here as much as we used too. The portions are no longer as good for sizing and some of our usual go to meals have increased by around £6 each and now everything is paying extra for things you used to get included.

I don't normally complain about my food but I Ordered chicken meat with chips and salad they gave me chicken tikka with chips and salad not what I asked for my salad was also not very nice as it had all gone very soggy due to heat my little girls battered sausage wasn't a battered one it's was more like a plain one chicken burgers was ok most of what we ordered went in the bin maybe put the salad separate and not on or with hot food and make sure your sausages are properly battered i tryed phoning the shop but it kept coming up as engaged so after the 4th time I just gave up

Had food delivered, opened everything up and noticed was missing a chips and chicken nuggets (more like chicken chunks not nuggets) as I ordered 2 for my children , so I have rang them up to be told it was in the bag she had put the items in the bag, she knew it was in there , well I can assure the item wasn't in the bag. So she said right will get another sent out now, which has been over 50 minutes so far and its still not arrived. I'm not happy with how the lady on phone spoke to me , like I was lying when I just want my daughters order that was missing. Her sisters have eaten and she is still waiting!
