King Balti in Caerphilly

Absolutely a horrid experience. Would give this place a sub zero rating if it were possible. just moved to the area and thought we would try this restaurant, we love Indian food and our last local Indian takeaway were great. Ordered a takeaway and was told delivery would be in 30 mins, it took over 2 hours and 4 phone calls to finally receive our food. The food that was eventually delivered (cold) can only be described as tasteless, unidentifiable, horrible and a million miles below the standard from other Indian food establishments. You would be crazy to ever have anything from the establishment, there are many places better, avoid or be very, very, disappointed.

One work trip to Caerphilly we tried out the King Balti as it was within walking distance of the hotel. We had previously tried the Castle Gate Indian restaurant. Both myself and my colleague preferred the King Balti. Starting with crisp Poppadoms and a good chutney tray we moved onto our mains. I always have a Pathia the 1st time I visit a restaurant and their version was very good with the sauce not too sweet and a good flavour profile in every bite. One portion of rice, a naan bread and an excellent Saag Aloo side was amble accompaniment for the two of us. We had a good chat with the newish owner and staff at the end of the meal and they were very nice people, so give it a try if you are in the area.

First visit to king balti . The food was great and fresh. Good portion size for the price too. The manager is very friendly and honestly I don’t think the place could run without him because he was serving, cleaning and even doing a deliveries. So lots of appreciation to him. Will definitely be back

Took my 11 family members for a Christmas treat. Booking was easy. Staff very welcoming and hospitable. Food was stunning, really nice. Service was fast but didn't feel rushed. Would highly recommend all dishes. Van road

What a shame my favourite Indian Take Away has become my worst tonight, cold, bland and just awful. No taste whatsoever ever in the byriani or curry sauce, really watery and bland. So disappointing tonight, won't be ordering again. Yuk!

Indian cuisine is a family favourite, something we often order. However, we had never ordered from here before and have to say we were very happy with the complete service. The food was delicious, ample portions and piping hot! The only thing I didn’t like was the mint sauce condiment. It was slightly grainy and peach in colour. Everything else was perfect. Also, and quite importantly, a third of the price of our usual restaurant! Would definitely recommend Will definitely order again

Nice and friendly atmosphere. The portions were very generous and tasted so good. The place could do with some music playing but that's my only complaint.

Really lovely meal super fresh tasting. And then service is always great! This is the best local Indian for sure. Delicious will be back!

Order placed and Balti King confirmed the time. When the food wasn’t received 15 minutes past the delivery time I rang the restaurant to inquire. Was told that they were very busy and couldn’t give a time. Eventually received the food 1.5 hours late, cold and items missing. There are so many better Takeaways than this poor excuse for a business. Please do avoid if you want good service and hot food delivered on time and correct

Have been ordering from here for a while for home delivery and have finally had the chance since lockdown to go in for a sit down meal. Food was delicious, great value for money and the staff were helpful and friendly. We will be back ! Highly recommend:)

After a horrible meal at castle gate Indian, this place saved my birthday meal. Even though we ate it at home was still 10/10 meal! Highly recommend.

We ordered a takeaway as we had been given a just eat voucher. First issue was the voucher didn't work and the driver said we had to pay the £29 with cash. We ordered a chicken Shatkora and a chicken bhoona special. The Shatkora is what we normally eat from our preferred takeaway so we were looking g forward to trying it. Both mains tasted bland and I felt that they had been made from a jar of paste. We have an Indian takeaway at least fortnightly and this was the worst one I can remember, certainly in the last 25 years. One positive was the garlic nan was really nice. The only thing that would have made the mains taste any better was if I had covid. Stay well away. If you want a takeaway go to Bedwas Bhaji.

4 times we have ordered online with the app - and three times they have got the order wrong. Tonight food delivered barely warm and to top it off failed again to deliver chips, and only what was probably 3/4 of a poppadom .. in bits! Will never order from King Balti again.

I’ve had a takeaway the last 2 Fridays and they have been tasty, delivery was quick, will be going again next Friday

We have had several take aways from here since they opened, and the quality and service has always been outstanding. Last night we had another take away, but this time they blew us away with thier outstanding generosity, kindness and compassion. Thank you all at King Balti

I cannot fault the service or quality of food. My partner and I have used King Balti a few times, they never disappoint. Food and delivery service second to none. Highly recommend

well does not look so good from out side but perfectly clean well presented great service the chefs lock great very well tuned out they can't do enough for you and I cannot find a fault any where food exceptionally good. give it a try

Ordered a takeaway from here this evening. Had a salmon tikka a mild curry sauce ,chips,egg fried rice and a garlic naan bread all delivered exactly on time . But most impressive thing is the food ,all so very tasty . Will be going in...

This is by far the best restaurant and takeaway in Caerphilly Barry and his team are very accommodating and the food is of the highest quality

We booked the king balti for a table of 6 the attention to detail from the staff was fabulous the food was also fantastic regards all 6 meals particularly the mixed grill was ample but quality as well. Fully recommend this restaurant.

Seven of us visited the King Balti in Caerphilly for the Sunday buffet. There were poppadoms and chutneys along with other starters which were all very nice. A good selection of curries were on offer and everything was kept topped up. The staff were excellent...

Visited Sunday for the all you can eat buffet. This runs between 1pm-9pm. We arrived about 2pm and we were the only customers. No food was ready but they didn’t take long to heat things up. The food was lovely. However soft drinks were sparse...

Have had a takeaway a couple of times from here and it's always been spot on. Staff are really friendly and great service. Always looks really clean and well presented inside. My go to local indian.
