For a table of 8 and work dinner it was brilliant. Everyone enjoyed the food! There was a small misunderstanding at the end of the evening as we were being rushed off the table and some of the diners had not finished their drinks AND we missed desserts. However, the food was perfect!!

A Disappointing Experience at Kin I’d heard a lot of glowing reviews about Kin, so I was quite looking forward to our visit. Unfortunately, the experience was rather disappointing, largely due to the service. We arrived with one fewer guest than originally booked, as one of our party was unwell and couldn’t join. This seemed to irritate the host, who was noticeably displeased about the change. The reception felt rather cold and set an uncomfortable tone for the meal. We also had one guest arriving a bit later, so we ordered their meal in advance. When we asked if an extra plate might be provided to cover their food and keep it warm, we were told that this wasn’t possible, despite the fact that our own meals were served on plates. All in all, while Kin’s reputation had raised our expectations, the level of service fell short. We’d expected a more accommodating and welcoming experience.

It’s been 2 years since I visited Kin, and I’m pleased to say that they are even better now. Delicious food, great service a pleasure to come back.

The food is always so good here but two of us were waiting quite a while for our mains a good 5-10 mins. we were on a lunch service and felt like we were rushed out as we only had the table for an hour.

I really enjoyed my food here and it felt like authentic Thai food. It was filling but light. The spice was also right and they asked me how spicy I wanted it which was nice. Everyone was lovely. Food was quick but had to wait for the bill which was odd as there want many people there. Overall, I really enjoyed my/our experience here

I left London a couple of years ago and now I'm visiting for a couple of days and the first thing I go to eat is Kin's pad Thai! It's delicious and I'm so grateful they make it gluten free and can accommodate dietary restrictions in general. There are a lot of GF options. Lovely staff and atmosphere, tables are a bit close to each other but because the space is pretty small.

Kin está situado hacia el extremo norte de Leather Lane. Está a pocos pasos de la estación de Farringdon. Pudimos conseguir una mesa temprano un viernes por la noche sin reserva previa con la condición de que completamos nuestra comida dentro de una hora. Desafortunadamente el menú, como muchos restaurantes en estos días, está en línea, por lo que es un poco difícil de ordenar si hay más de una persona comiendo. Encontré el menú algo limitado así que pedí un plato de albóndigas de verduras, otro de albóndigas de pollo y algunos fideos de Singapur. Para beber, tomamos una botella de Viognier. El vino era muy bueno, pero todos los platos me parecieron poco inspiradores. Todos eran bastante sosos y carentes de gusto. El servicio era decente y el costo sin propina era de £ 69 para dos.

The food never arrived. The delivery person was hanging in a park for an hour. Now i got to ask for a refund

The food was so good, the staff were super attentive. it took a minute for them to come and take our order but once they did the food came so quickly and tasted incredible. very intimate and cosy dining but casual at the same time. 10/10 would definitely go again

I had the tofu Pad Thai there, and at the end, I mentioned that the noodles were too hard, just as a bit of feedback. One of the staff immediately responded with, 'I asked you earlier, why didn’t you say anything?' She had asked how things were right after the food was served, and at that point, the top part of the noodles was fine, but later on, they became too tough to chew. Another staff member came over, was really nice about it, and even offered us a discount. My partner's meal was great, but it’s a shame the first staff member seemed to be having a rough day.

Noodle dish was very oily and taste was only ok. Not what I was expecting. Maybe I was just unlucky today.

Starters are delicious and great portion size and tasty mains

So we got the weekly special Thai Fried Chicken with rice with Fried Thai Chicken wings and they were delicious. I’ve eaten a many fried chicken and this is world class stuff. Great customer service too. It’s a small venue so book ahead if you can but we just turned up and managed to grab a table of 2.

We met with friends and had a wonderful dinner and the staff were great. We will be back again.

Food was great, table service was good minus the bill being incorrect and us having to travel back to the restaurant later on to rectify it. You need to book as it gets busy but be aware they do harass you prior to your booking with several phone calls, texts and emails. I booked 24 hours before and in that time received 2 phone calls, 2 texts and 2 emails to confirm. As I only booked the evening before and I would have been charged £30 if I cancelled I was definitely showing up. After leaving I received more phone calls and texts after the service staff incorrectly billed us so we had to travel back to rectify this. A day after I am still getting calls. Very frustrating for somewhere with excellent food. I’d love to go back but not sure I want more calls from them.

The food and service at Kin are very good especially as the restaurant was busy even at 6:30. The service was lightening quick. About 8 minutes or less from order to the food arriving at the table. Perhaps a little too quick and it seems I barely had time to take a first sip of my drink. One thing that really surprised me is that curries - including the special massaman - were off the menu ostensibly because they had run out of coconut milk. There must be a 20-50 grocery shops within that area so I thought that was a bit of a weak excuse for Thai restaurant! That aside the small plates and pad Thai were well cooked and tasty. As good as any food I have had in Bangkok. So I will return and hopefully next time get to check out one of the curries. (Maybe I’ll take along a can of coconut milk just in case 😊)

It's way too noisy in here. The tip is maximum, the service nearly minimum. Food is okay, but you can taste it's not fresh. The welcoming was very nice at least.

A popular lunch venue for me and have always enjoyed the food there. For starters we had the crispy squid which was delicious and a keen favourite. Unfortunately on this occasion the sea bass for 2 was really over fried so our main course was disappointing. However we did get a discount on our bill which we didn’t ask for . Appreciated but sadly it was a birthday treat for a close colleague. Even so I will definitely be back again as overall my experiences are always positive at Kin!

I have been to KIN twice and the experience was consistent - menu is great, food is really tasty and presented well but the service is doesn’t match the vibe of the restaurant. The staff were persistent at trying to take our order before we’d been sat for long enough to greet each other and look at the menu. This happened both times I’ve been - we ask for a few more minutes to decide and the staff are back in 2 minutes flat to ask again instead of noticing we’re mid conversation and not yet looked at the menu. It just gives an odd rushed vibe (the restaurant was not busy if that helps) and once we’d ordered there was very little service and had to wave someone down for the bill. It’s not the worst service but the restaurant is nice enough to warrant better.

Food was ok. Service not that ok. The tables are too close to each other which ruins the experience ( for the money you are paying ). A plate of chicken pad Thai is £14,5 + 12.5% service charge.

Noodles was great. Singapore Ludo was great however the salad bowl was a little bit stale. It was not fresh to be honest. I had to throw it away.

This place is singlehandedly responsible for ruining khao soi and pad kee mao for me elsewhere because they set the bar too high. I used to work nearby and go here every week to get a tempeh pad kee mao or khao soi, occasionally the vegetable dumplings and egg fried rice or chicken pad krapow for variation, but it's the aforementioned two dishes that are the stars here.

I had the Pad Kee Mao drunken noodles and asked for extra spicy. KIN delivered as promised and I was a happy customer. They were delicious.

Disappointing food and menu. Red Thai curry felt as though it had been watered down and bland. Asked for less tofu and more broccoli and veg. It was full of tofu and three/four florets of broccoli and very little other veg. Pad Thai was again bland and the flat noodles were quite gloopy. We couldn’t order the Thai Green curry as a veg option - big fail! Spring rolls (3 in a portion) were ok. Thick rolls but packed with the usual veg stuffing. PS thank you to KIN for replying. I would hope there is another way to make a dish mild rather than diluting flavour and texture. I also hope you can add a vegetarian Thai green curry - a go to dish for vegetarians! :)

Ordered as delivery so can only rate the food. The calamari was great, and the spring roll good. The curry and pad thai were nice in the underlying taste but it was way too spicy. Now, I’m not a master of spice but I can handle and appreciate some but this honestly just tasted like a scotch bonnet in my mouth, overtaking any flavour. I don’t think I’ll order from here again.

Excellent Thai food at reasonable prices! Not tried papaya salad like that since i was in Thailand. Service is great and the staff are very friendly. We'll be back for sure!

I had eaten here years ago and was curious to see what it was like after all that time. I’m delighted to find that the food is as good as I remember and the service was excellent. The menu is accessed via a QR code (I miss the old physical menus!) but the staff take your orders. You can tailor the spice levels for dishes and they also offer an excellent 2 cocktails (the margaritas are properly salted and tasty) for only £15. We ordered the chicken wings and slat and pepper calamari for starters. The chicken wings were slightly too thickly coated but the meat was juicy and served with sweet chilli sauce. The calamari was springy and seasoned nicely. Our mains consisted of prawn pad thai and prawn Pad Kee Mao. We asked for extra spicy and the chef delivered, to the point that my friend was unable to finish his pad kee mao so beware if you’re testing your taste buds. There was a good amount of prawns in each dish and I would probably just stick to the recommended spice level next time. We had no room for dessert which is a shame as I wanted to try the banana fritters so will make sure to leave room next time. The team working at the restaurant were engaging, checked in on us without being overbearing and were in such good spirits despite the wet weather outside. A dining experience can be affected by the restaurant team and I’m glad to see Kin get this point right.

Small but cosy restaurant with really good food. I ordered the Salt & Pepper tofu bites and Nasi Goreng (extra hot), and it did not disappoint. Staff were very attentive. Chicken is also halal here.

If you want authentic Thai food this is the best place I have been. Having shared a house with some who spent years in Thailand learning to cook you get spoiled; but this place is great.

I booked a table when I arrived there I was given a small table at the entrance bumping constantly into bags of delivery drivers. The staff was very unaccommodating so I had to leave. They clearly want to maximise their revenue so many food delivery is better than the in-restaurant experience

We entered early evening and we were one of the first tables to be seated. There were lots of people being declined a reservation due to be fully booked and throughout our visit. So a popular venue. The service was a bit lackadaisical. It’s felt like they weren’t really bothered about our table. This was all except our last server who was fantastic. The starters were delicious. Our favourite was the chilli oil chicken dumplings, the salt and pepper calamari and the crispy chicken wings. The papaya salad was ok, but I think the marinade needs to soak in more before serving. Unfortunately the belly pork rice was a let down, the rice was dry and felt like it was reheated in the microwave. The pork dish itself lacked flavour. The restaurant has a good vibe and is a good setting for the style of food on the menu.

Delicious dinner to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The food arrived quickly (arguably too quickly as our starters & mains arrived together, and our pre-dinner drinks hadn’t come at that point), but was delicious and really good. The salt & pepper squid is stupidly tasty - very v v recommended!! This is the second time I’ve been there and I’ll definitely be back again.

The food wasn't delivered! I even rang the restaurant and they said a driver wasn't ever assigned so can the food be delivered?

This is my boyfriend’s favourite restaurant and I loved it as well! I later brought my family here when they came to visit me from Norway and they complained that they were served “too much” food. Take that as you will, but I absolutely love coming here to eat!

This is a great place, delicious food, served in a nice café style environment . Lovely staff, and efficient service, KIN has a bustling trade and booking seems to be preferable as gets busy. The Thai (Asian) inspired street food is so tasty and fresh, with lots to choose from and variations of lots of dishes. Good selection of local beers too. Prices are very fair with decent portion sizes. Would recommend and will definitely be visiting again.
