This is one of those unique British/Mediterranean style cafes and one where I regularly drop in for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Traditional UK Café fare but when it gets Mediterranean things go very unique. The Spanish omelette is about as close to the real dish as you can get and while chips are the standard option you may find their always fresh salads are the very best way to complement it. Mid morning and late afternoon are best for service when it is quieter. Ideally aimed at anyone over 55 if you are curious about their background music but notably pulls in younger individuals and couples that tend to appreciate the arts. A choice of instant or ground coffee to suit pocket and taste is matched by the standard UK cafe menu but walk over to the chilled display at the counter after 9 am to see the freshly prepared dinner range of Turkish and Italian dishes and you will be back again and again! Final point - and bearing in mind the suitable times, his is an ideal place to meet up and become a regular place to relax - whether it is for a tea/coffee or something better than what fast food outlets offer. Bon Appetit !

As a life-long local this is the only local cafe I trust entirely for quality of food and hygiene. The owners and staff our friendly and helpful. Most importantly the food is great and extremely good value.

Popped in before going to the theatre and was surprised to see quite a wide range on the menu and prices were very reasonable, when food came it was very nice , would recommend this for a place to pop in for something cheap and cheerful

I used to rely on the Kigi cafe on a daily basis for my lunch when I worked and lived nearby, their food is fresh and well cooked, good value, but most of all the owners are just really lovely people.

This is a nice local cafe which serves good Turkish cuisine. I particularly enjoy the vegetable lasagna or the pasta meatballs. There are a lot of cafes on Caledonian Road but if your looking for Turkish cuisine... This is your place.

Stopped off here on a whim for breakfast as we were starving. The guys were friendly and very welcoming into their little establishment. This is your average London high street café. It was clean, cluttered and familiar. No complaints, really. We had the fry up which was enormous and served with the standard tea in a mug with the tea bag floating in it. The meal did the job - more than filled a hole, but don't come here expecting a farmer's market extravaganza. This place does by-the-book greasy-spoon fare. The prices are nice. Overall, good for your hang-over cure. Can't comment on the lunch, but for breakfast? Sure. I even tipped the staff.

Have stopped here for a quick coffee and cake when in the area. No problems as of yet. The food in the displays does look good, tables are clean and their Apple pie is cooked well.

This restaurant recently got a hygiene rating of 0 (June, 2014) - a fact we only discovered halfway through our meal - and it was clear why. Absolutely everything in the restaurant was grubby. The floor, the plugs, the light switches. Even the table felt sticky. The cook was enjoying a cigarette outside when we arrived, but swiftly came in, took our order and cooked it - without going anywhere near a sink. The food itself was budget, but also cheap - £5.90 for a fried breakfast, with toast and tea. It was the lack of any kind of hygiene control that concerned us rather than the food itself. The eggs overcooked and the "double espresso" was really just a cup of strong black coffee. If you want cheap food and have a strong constitution, this might suit you. But I wouldn't want to eat there again.

I used to live in one of the flats above the block where Kigi's is located and ate here all the time. Literally all the time. Like every weekend. Even on Christmas Eve. It is a wonderful local cafe with great food and lovely staff. They do a good fried breakfast - I particularly like their bubble and squeak. The fry-ups are really popular with the staff who work at Pentonville and seem to come here when they finish their shifts. My favourite dish is the Turkish meatballs, which comes rice but like most people I have it with chips instead. The Turkish food is really good here - better than in many Turkish restaurants. Everything is good value. I really miss having this wonderful cafe as my local! If you live near by you are very luck! Go check it out
