Nice restaurant. And the food was delicious😋

What a little hidden gem! Relaxed environment. The food is outstanding, cooked from fresh and great quality. Highly recommend the Thai red curry and special fried rice. Staff were lovely and attentive. Good value too, not overpriced at all.

It was the first time we ordered from here and with pre-ordering, over an hour before we wanted our food, I assumed we’d receive it on time. However that could not have been further from the truth. The order was over an hour late and was pretty much cold when it arrived. Needless to say we’ll not be ordering from here again.

It is in preston. The town centre is like many in England Depressed. But here you can eat well. Delicious food. And the female crew who own and run the place are fabulous. A bonus practical. The loos are so clean!

An absolute gem of a restaurant on the edge of Preston town centre. Really cosy, immaculate, lovely helpful staff (no issues with my dairy allergy) and hot, fresh, tasty and beautifully presented food. We thoroughly enjoyed the salt and pepper squid and chicken gyoza's to start followed by Thai Green Curry (very spicy!) and Beef Pad Himmaparm. We will return!

Went for the first time yesterday and loved everything about the place - it's cosy, inviting and the food was lovely. The staff was super attentive and we were shown which items on the menu can be made vegan. Overall a lovely visit and we'll definitely be back again 😊xx

Found this excellent restaurant when picking up a new car. It was open until 3 and we got there just in time. Food is most certainly authentic and beware that if the lady asks you if you want it spicy- it will blow your head off - be very sure...that's what authentic Thai food is like Downside is probably the ,£6 cost of a pint and the area in which it is based which isn't the best

We visited for lunch and had the lunch menu for Tuesday to Friday. The prices were very good and the food was delicious! The waiter was very friendly and the venue was snug and cozy with heaters on the tables for people and the overall room was warm as well. The portions were a little small but definitely enough and probably due to ordering from the lower price lunch menu. Can't understand the negative review as it is the absolute opposite of this place, probably a competitor. Really enjoyed eating here, would definitely revisit and recommend to anyone who likes Thai food in the local area.

We drive from Windermere to Preston just to eat this food. We love Thai food, but this restaurant is different from most Thai restaurants. The owner clearly loves her establishment and she is so proud to explain how the chefs cook the food and with what ingredients. These things make this place stand out from the rest. When someone cares about the food and the presentation and their clientele then it’s hard not to feel wanted and that your custom means something. Please keep up the good work and high standards, as we will keep coming and enjoying your amazing food, service and company.

The Thai food is absolutely amazing here, I come at least twice a month. It’s fresh food great service and the restaurant is absolutely stunning. This is the only Thai food restaurant I will eat at in Preston. Keep being amazing to you all. Thank you

Extremely well presented eatery, with a relaxing ambience and attentive staff. The food was amazing, with the flavours and portion sizes offering good value for money. As someone who has lived in Thailand, I highly recommend this place.

Went here last Tuesday for evening meal. I love Thai food and had been here before. I always order same Thai when they have it on the menu. Pad Kee Mao, last time was prawn so went with chicken this time. I had reserved table for 4 and it was easy to book by messaging them online. I don't know the ladies name who served us but she was lovely. The others chose their food which was other noodle dishes and platter. The atmosphere is so relaxing, we were there to catch up and we were able to chill out, laugh and enjoy some amazing food. I would recommend this place every day, the food is portioned right (although I could have had more plates of Pad Kee Mao). We will return. The ladie mentioned they do a sort of tapas Thai during the week which sounds soooo good.

This is a quaint little restaurant with a fantastic ambience, great service and absolutely amazing food. Each serving was authentic Thai cuisine, bursting with flavours and piping hot. We will be back very soon.

The place was absolutely spotless. there is a wonderful atmosphere inside and the waitress was very happy to explain the dishes and flavours to help us choose. The food was just delicious and was served quickly. It was delightful to hear that her food is derived from her mother's recipes. Never tasted anything so good for a long time and it won't be too long before I visit again.

We have eaten here so many times now as a pair and with friends and have seriously NEVER had a bad meal. Get yourself down there...it's exceptional.

This restaurant is a really lovely little find. Not only is the food delicious and fresh but the people are lovely too. We had the sharing platter to start and then I had Pad Thai whilst my partner had a sweet and sour beef dish with jasmine rice. All very flavoursome and washed down with Chang beer. We would definitely return.

The Lunch menu was splendid. And cheap. £8.50 with £1 for a Diet Coke. I had the Bangkok Gra Pow with rice which was delicious.

Came here with my boyfriend, we shared the squid starter which was nice but only 5 small pieces for over £7. I had the pad Thai which was tasty but a bit too sweet, and my boyfriend had the prawn wonton soup. Overall the food was tasty, but a bit overpriced for the portion sizes, especially the starter. Service was good and restaurant was very clean.

Went with husband at seven, quite busy, so booking is recommended. Leo bottled beer was as good as we remembered from Thailand, as was the food. Great service, so would highly recommend this little gem, albeit in a slightly dodgy area of Preston.

Nice food.... The waitress was friendly and informative. The location of this place leaves a little to be desired.... a little off the Main drag of Preston centre, and a bit dirty, but that didn't stop the place being packed at 6pm! Good selection of dishes.... I would have liked the option of a shared banquet so we can sample more... £75 for 2 people with 2 cokes each.

Tried the place out because it was open on a Monday unlike most other places. Food was absolutely delicious and was authentic Thai food (except for the spice). Could not recommend more and will definitely be coming again!! I had the gra pow (my favourite Thai dish from my days there) and although the spice level was nowhere near what you would get in Thailand it is perfect for English people.

Called in with a friend for a quiet dinner. Honestly was really impressed. The restaurant had such a lovely atmosphere and was clean. The staff were super friendly and the food! Wow the food was lush! Not too spicy but full of flavour, just the way I like it. Would highly recommend this place!

Incredible experience, just like being in Thailand! Lovely atmosphere and quick friendly service. The food was amazing! The pictures don't do it justice, so much flavour! Had a lovely chat with the owner of the restaurant after our meal and exchanged life stories and similar places we had visited and stayed in Thailand. We work down in the area roughly once a month, so we will be visiting here on our next visit! Get booked up and give it a try. It's definitely the best Thai restaurant I have had in the uk, and we have been to a lot!

I think this Thai restaurant really deserves five stars. You can taste the authentic Thai flavor at a reasonable price. I would say it is even better than other thai restaurants in some big cities. Great! I will come back again.

Incredible value lunchtime special. I had chicken thai green curry, rice and a drink £8.50 wow. I'm not very brave with my food so was apprehensive but wow, lovely food and the waiter was a lovely gentleman. Looking forward to taking my wife.

Excellent friendly small restaurant. Having walked past it a few times I decided to book a table for 2 on a Saturday evening. First impressions was a warm greeting and we were seated immediately. It’s very clean and felt cosy. The choice of food is good and the prices very reasonable. We had a mixed starter to try out everything and it was very tasty. Mains was a green curry and a duck dish with taramin sauce. Both excellent and so fresh ! All the staff were so efficient and we will definitely be returning.

As a vegetarian I often struggle finding good Thai places which do not use fish sauces in their veg dishes especially Tom yum soup. This place is amazing for their quality of food and portion size as well. And what a genius idea of adding beans and lentils to their vege dishes. Not only increases the nutritive value (hello protein) but tastes amazing as well. I loved the food!! Highly recommended👍🏽👍🏽

Valentine meal. Staff are very friendly. We come here regularly. Food is always made fresh and is fantastic. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended. My favourite is chicken massaman curry and the satay chicken.

What a fantastic little gem! Hidden down Church street, you could easily miss it! Lovely decor, clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and the food is amazing. We had the valentine's offer... 2 starters, 2 mains, ice cream and a bottle of wine, an absolute bargain at £45. The food was hot, fresh and really tasty. Can't wait to go back! Our only grumble, if we really had to find something, would be there's too much curry for the rice... Next time we'd order an extra rice portion to share as the curry is too good not to finish! 🤣

Tastes just like the food I have eaten in Northern Thailand. Not a generic Thai menu, but one with food the owners obviously love themselves and are dishes they grew up with. Menu helpful about what is in each dish and how you can expect it to taste. But, what really sets the food apart was just how fresh and vibrant the food tasted. No dried out fusty Thai basil here, tasted like it had been picked right from the bush and shredded into our food. Great service too, for example we were asked if we wanted a drink top up before we had got around to asking. If I lived in Preston I would get VERY fat, eating here as often as I could.

Excellent Thai food restaurant that we discovered this evening, had the special fried rice and king prawn red Thai curry with salt and pepper chips which we both really enjoyed followed by banana fitters absolutely perfect.

Best Thai I’ve had in a long time. The soup was amazing!! So good.

Was just passing and thought it was open as I could see people....the lady opened up for me as they had closed for after lunch and done me one of the best chocken dishes with extra spice and rice ( sorry cant remember the name of the dish). Busy Saturday night at Khao Thai, ordered a mixed starter which was very nice (in particular the satay chicken) and a bottle of wine (Pinot grigio and Chardonnay on the menu, we went for the Pinot). Kids had J20 and Appetizer. Mains were very nice, my beef dish was tasty, my wife's tofu noodles were delicious and my daughter had a chicken dish which was lovely. Sadly my son had the daytime chicken goujons and chips as he's a fussy eater but this order was forgotten hence the lower service rating. Coconut rice was devine and the noodle side plate has to be eaten quick as it swiftly cools. Overall good.
