Excellent home made food, delicious soups very authentic and properly cooked. It looks like there's an ingredients shop next to the restaurant and the seating area is now expanded. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We ate a late lunch which was delicious and took home a take away.

Enjoy eating in Leeds Kirkgate Market - this corner spot with tables and chairs for two is perfect. Freshly made prawn Pad Thai was excellent - similar with the spring rolls. Service was good and staff great.

Not the first time it happens, we wanted to get some take away to eat it at home. We order specifically 2 starters and one of the mains asked to take out the cucumber. The woman taking order only was nodding with the head so we supposed everything was fine. Half an hour after we just got home and realised half of our order was wrong. We thought it was a wrong order but when calling we found out that woman didn't even get half of the order right. So we had to pay and eat what we didn't order. Then when you ring the same woman can not attend you as she can't talk the language. Shocking customer service, poor staff.... Imagine how annoying is to get home and see that is not your food!!! If you go there make sure you don't order to an old woman as she literally isn't able to work properly. Just a heads up for anyone who goes there is not the first time that happens to us! Then when you Complain they are not capable to sort it, saying sorry I not the way! Again MAKE SURE YOU ORDER TO SOEMBODY WHO SPEAKS ENGLISH if you going to bother in ordering there.

I first came across Khao Gaeng Thai during a trip to Leeds in January 2019, when I was planning a field trip to Leeds with the Sheffield U3A Geology Group. I only had time to grab a quick snack, Thai Fish Cakes, and finding these to my satisfaction promised to pop in for a more substantial meal when I was next in Leeds - which was a few days later for the same reason. At home, I very often cook Thai curries and so I tried something different, which I enjoyed but can't rember what it was. I visited Leeds several times later in 2019 and, if I had the time, I ate here on many occasions, trying something different each time. Thai food is probably my favourite and, being quite a fussy eater, on the odd occasion I found my meal a touch oily but, overall, I highly recommend eating here - especially because they serve a decent size portion that is very tasty and fills you up. The only negative factor, purely from a recycling point of view, is that when eating at the restaurant, food is served in cardboard cartons rather than on plates; however, on one occasion when the restaurant was very busy and I couldn't wait, I discovered that a Korean restaurant in the food court at the back of the market served its food in this way - but this may be due to the lack of washing up and storage space.

What can I say!! The best prawn pad Thai I've had in UK. It was cooked fresh in front of me and using all fresh ingredients. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Leeds, just a shame it isn't a restaurant as I'd love to visit on a nighttime. Can't wait to try more on the menu.

I thought the larb moo was too salty but kaprao gai was quite nice. not quite like here in saraburi but it's hard to get ingredients quite the same or as fresh so not to worry. price is quite reasonable for england, about the equivalent of 200-300 baht per dish.

Ordered Thai fish cakes to go, they were £3.50 with a bit of salad & chilli sauce, were red hot, authentic & delicious, the quality would easily compare with any restaurant.

Got fish and chips and a curry sauce for takeout. Friendly service bur had to wait some time for the food. Not fast at all but the flipside is it was totally fresh. Standard fish a little on the small side but everything cooked to absolute perfection. Curry sauce consistency spot on too. All tasted wonderful. Third time there over the past year and consistently good.

Visited the food market as my partner fancied the Yorkshire pudding wrap. There were 3 of us that tried it the other went next door for a chicken shawarma which was excellent. Anyway, the “Yorkshire pudding” didn’t even look like Yorkshire pudding more like a solid black burnt wrap and the beef content was brown mush with red cabbage through it. Did not look anything like advertised at all. Very very poor ingredients it would seem. All three of us left over half…..straight in the bin. On the train on the way home when talking about it my partner actually said he still had a vile grease taste in his mouth and stomach and would absolutely never visit again. Good concept for a food outlet but hugely disappointing.
