Khans Tandoori in Middlesbrough

Used to go to the restaurant many years ago. Took a nostalgic trip back to the Boro and ordered my old favourite - tandoori chicken, vegetable madras and rice. It was every bit as fantastic as l remembered. The best tandoori checken l ever had, and l have been to places all over the world (including India). Tasty, loads of meat, succulent and tender. Thanks for the memory!

placed an order online , by mistake i forgot main item , was chared £15 delivery without checking my order i thought it was ok,i called (ranted) to guy on phone , i realised i was wrong and apologised but they insisted on sending out a main course for me even though i was in the wrong...top marks and top food , thank you

We ordered for the first time from here after someone told us about it in Cyprus. We had the set meal for 2 and oh god it was fantastic. There was so much food and the quality and quantity was exceptional value. The only thing for me personally was the sag paneer was a little too spicy for me but the hotter the better for my husband. Both our curry’s were lovely and had plenty of meat. We will definitely be ordering from here again.

They made a dairy-free order for me for delivery. I wasn't very confident after speaking to the guy on the phone, but all my items were labelled dairy-free, and delicious.

Thanks Khans, I have just thoroughly enjoyed my chicken dupiaza, chilli rice and keema Naan bread also with onion Bhaji to start, everything was fresh and tasted beautiful, also delivered within the hour as promised, will definitely be back!

Gorgeous food, best tikka masala around and really good portion sizes. Very friendly staff and very quick service.

I always get a takeaway and collect as i live very close by. Vegetable Jalfrezi, Pilau Rice, Saag Aloo and Plain Naan every time is delicious, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the portions are that big i split between two meals. Always consistent in quality, never any problems.

Excellent service staff was very good explain everything to me when I order . Came right time you got explain what u want and rest thy take care . Defo recommend to everyone . I only found out thy do out door catering as well .

Last minute rescue plan put in place by owner when original provider caught short by delayed building work. All the more impressive that able to provide excellent range of curries - korma masala pathia and vegetarian for grateful course organiser and a large dental practice team. Many thanks Naveed. Is really appreciated and a great alternative catering option to plastic lunch course buffets.

Staff very good food very very average starter were fresh and very well presented main courses all looked and tasted very similar. Not worth the price no atmosphere and almost boardering on scruffy

We get sandwiches from here at least twice a week and the ladies that usually serve weren’t working today. I think it was the owner. Normally the sandwiches are crafted with care and you can tell that they have pride in their work. Not today, it felt like the sandwiches were an effort too far, literally thrown together, measly filling and I actually thought he felt this was beneath him. Whether it’s a complicated dish or a simple sandwich, pride should be exercised in the task. If he is in next time I’ll be going for a pre pack from Tesco, because this guy couldn’t care less. Big respect to the regular ladies. What makes this a bit more disappointing is that it’s one of the best curry houses in the Boro, just seems that some food is more important than other food. Shame.

We used to use khan's a lot when they where on boro Rd. . First time we have used them since they have moved. As per great food and service.. try this place guys and don't let the area put you off

We were very impressed with our curries! One of the best or maybe the best Indian takeaway we have ever had! Really tasty! Only flaw was the long wait for it, but they could have been very busy

Visited with my colleague after a stressful day and had an amazing meal with some of the best Indian cuisine I have ever experienced. Staff we lovely and very accommodating. Cannot fault in any way.

Superb service and delicious food. The Do piazza is the best I have ever tasted and the staff are always willing to alter the menu to suit you personally.

Tuvimos un par de platos. El primer plato Byriani Tikka ... y Tikka main ... todos eran una decepción. mucho, pero la comida era mala calidad. no sé por qué ... sólo era. Me gusta mi Byriani y fue como un blanda desastre ... gustos no eran frescos ... no podía probar corriander ... etc.

I return to this restaurant time and time again. The service is quick, polite and personal. The food is as good as anywhere in Middlesbrough. They often have a buffet special for £12.50, this includes far more than you can possibly eat! Poppadoms, starters, curry, rice, side order, naan bread and I think a desert!I never get as far as desert!I would highly recommend this place.

Had takeaway delivered after seeing good reviews on Just Eat. Wasn't disappointed! Came quickly and everything was hot and tasted great. So impressed we went for a meal last night. Food was perfect and staff very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be going again.

We tried this restaurant after our regular one closed down. The manager was extremely friendly, and the food was lovely, with an all you can eat menu for just £12.50 but all cooked to order so nice and fresh too. When we went for a second time the manager Iffy remembered our names which I thought was nice and made us feel very welcome. The chef (and owner) also came down to chat and make sure our food was to our liking. We now go to this restaurant every week for our tea, and always get the same welcome, and lovely food. I would recommend this place to anybody!

I visited this place for the first time with my family and loved it! The atmosphere inside was amazing and the members of staff are so nice. The food was also delicious, one of the best Indian places in Middlesbrough.

Went with a few of my friends, and absolutely loved the experience, the staff were brilliant the food was served on time and was so delicious definitely recommend to everyone!!

The restaurant doesn't look much from outside but it is beautiful once you are in. Food is lovely and portions are large. I tried 2 curries and they were both excellent. Friday nights can get very busy but service was still fast.

Our service was very friendly, the manager seemed to really care that we were there. It was a quiet lovely meal and well-priced. My wife and I really enjoyed our first visit here. The curries and Naan were high quality and delicious. The Indian music in the background was enjoyable too. Really liked the whole experience.

Staying in Middlesbrough for the night by myself and chose Khans based on location and reviews. The deco is a little tired with a child's play area looking out of place and a TV playing Indian music videos. The food was lovely. The best I've had in a long time. The staff were friendly and accommodating. If I'm ever in Middlesbrough again I would go back. Only negatives were a cold plate and flat soft drink.

I was on business in Middlesbrough and decided to visit a totally new place to where I normally go. I went for the chicken curry starters and Haandi for main with rice and roti.Both were very nice and the flavours were superb! Visited this restaurant with my wife . We were the only people eating . Why was this ! Everyone follows the crowd.!!!! Well your missing out. the staff here take time to help you enjoy the experience . Your not rushed in then out . The food does not taste like it's been made on a conveyor belt.The food is excellent . Relaxed staff are not rushing to service and turn around 20 tables . They are focus on you enjoying your meal willing to help when needed and leave you to enjoy your night. Visit this restaurant you will not regret it.Visit this restaurant and I think you will change your favourite India restaurant.... No I'm sure you will.

Been their with my bank manger excellent well manner waiter understand us and food was pure Punjabi style . Could taste fresh herb and green chile not one of those paste flav . Remind me home cooking . Well done Khans keep up

Ordered take away and it was absolutely beautiful meat was really tender nd lovely flavour good price and didnt wait long for delivery would highly reccomend people to try you wont be disappointed

Only visited here once and sat inside. Lovely atmosphere inside and very friendly and accommodating staff. The food is amazing, can't say anything more than that really! Would definitely visit again, if only I was in Boro more often!

The food is always great and the staff are always friendly.when I order a takeaway they remember me everytime.I always get my takeaway well under the time they give.

Came here for a second time this weekend and once again it was flawless!We opted for the £12.50 'all you can eat' option this time and got a variety of starters, a main meal with rice and naan and dessert and coffee for that price. I do not know why this place isn't heaving its absolutely gorgeous and the staff are lovely too!

Decided to try somewhere new for a curry.. Bit bored of Akbars.. Was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the meal but also the whole experience. Not sure if it was the owner/manager but we were met with a warm welcome. We were unsure of which starters to have so we were offered a mixed plate to share.. Which was lovely. The whole meal was really good and we both enjoyed. The restaurant was empty when we first arrived ( only 6pm) but a few tables were busy as time went on and they were met like old friends so I assume they were frequent visitors. Nice music in background. The owner/manager ??? was very friendly and made our night very memorable.

Visited here last night with my other half, the restaurant was completely empty the whole time we were there but they were constantly busy with take away orders which must be their main job!Food was absolutely delicious and the chicken was so lovely, we ordered a starter each and a main all of which were perfect.They also had a 20% off offer on food between 6-9pm which we were please to find out when we got there which made our bill a little lighter but the food is still very good value without the discount.Would visit again and will be recommending it to my friends and family :-)

My partner and I have eaten at khans for many years and can honestly say we have tried many more restaurants in middlesbrough but non have even come close to the service, food, comfort and lastly the welcome we receive from our friend iffy, this restaurant is a must try for anyone looking for an all round enjoyable Indian meal treat

Incredible food. Incredible value. Incredible service. Finding myself in Middlesbrough over night for business I fancied Indian food. Being a half mile walk from my hotel, I decided to find Khan's and I'm glad I did. Providing me with a table for one was no problem as the restaurant was empty. As the food began to arrive I couldn't understand why. The food was amazing, plentiful and the service was attentive but not overpowering. Starter, main and two pints for less than £20. You can't go wrong. Give Khan's a try.

1st class place. Fast servise. Very friendly staff food to die for and really good range of price. Will deffo visit again and again.

Being from Bradford I've eaten at my fair share of Indian/Pakistan/Bangladeshi restaurants and after eating the chicken jalfrezei with mushroom rice all I can say is....brilliant Indian food that surpasses all I've had before. I'm actually thinking of doing the 2 hour drive just to take my wife here. The restaurant is small but beautiful and the staff happy and wonderful, takeout avaliable also with no corners cut, Thanks!

I visited this restaurant by mistake after looking at the reviews for the other Khans. I am very glad I had a meal there, lovely condiments, onion bhajis superb, chicken vindaloo and pilau rice, excellent,! Thanks to the Bangladeshi chefs for the superb cooking. All round excellent night and i'll be repeating it again tomorrow.

This is our favorite place to eat in Middlesbrough. Great quality food, and great service. We have been eating at khans for 10yrs and will continue. This place is a gem and needs more reviews and is UNDER RATED

Middlesbrough struggles for late night eating houses so we were pleased to find that Khans was still open at midnight on a Saturday night. We were though the only persons in there so were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The poppadoms were with us within minutes with four good dips. I got a madras which was very nice and the other lads I was complimented on their selections. Price wise Khans is comparable to other eating houses and very good value. I found the meal at this Khans a lot better than the meal I had at Khans in Linthorpe Village last year. I would definitely return for another meal.

Went here as we were taken out for a meal by my dad who wanted to use his high life card, normally if we want a curry in borough its akbars all the way and I can assure you, from now on it certainly will be. We ordered a variety of starters, samosas, mixed tandoori, bhajis which were all very pleasent. However the mains were a different story. All of them seemed to be all sauce and very little meat with the exception of my dads rogan josh which was all sauce and vegetables and very little meat.I ordered a chicken and spinach madras and although it tasted nice, there was not a great deal of chicken in it and theres no way it was madras spicey...barely even a prickle. The same was to be said for my brothers vindaloo, positively mild. Food seemed to go cold extremely quickly as well. This morning both me and my husband are feeling extremely ropey with several visits to the bathroom required. Not good. On the upside, service was very very good even if the waiter seemed a tiny bit insane. Would I visit again...not if I can avoid it.

Ordered from just eat, delivery took longer than stated so had to ring and find out where the food was. Make sure you give the exact money as i didnt and the delivery man just took my money and didnt come back with any change! Ordered chicken madras was okay didnt have much chicken in it. Extras such as the naan bread were lovely.

Khans in Borough Road, Middlesbrough serves authentic Indian dishes cooked to perfection just as you want it, if you like it hot or mild they will adjust things to suit your taste doing everything they can to meet the customers wishes. The service is outstanding, always welcoming you with a smile and making time to make you feel comfortable helping you decide what to eat, but what ever you choose you'll enjoy and look forward to returning to try the rest of the menu. Who needs the noise and bustle of Akbars go to Khans and enjoy the warm friendly family atmosphere and freshly cooked food, can't wait to return.

Visited the restaurant after seeing an offer on Groupon. Booked the table on the website and they were quick to respond to emails. We were the only diners in the restaurant on a Wednesday evening however the food was top notch and could have rivalled the top indian restaurants in the area. Decor wise it's a little like a marquee wedding with drapes and chair covers, but clean and tidy.

I went with my friend on Tuesday nite and we met lovely person call iffi or spikey . He made us very much welcome . We had chicken Kari and my friend had liver Tikka starter and main course khans special Tikka masala and my friend had Lahori Balti which was recommended by the iffi . And rice and nan . What a meal and service we had a good laugh Naver rush to it . We took over time . Lots of people was ringing for takeaway and del services . We been to lots of restaurant in or out side of Middlesbrough but we find khans of Middlesbrough near crown pub on Borough road is excellent . Been told thy been their since 1976 used to run by Mr Khan now their family member is running it . I say keep it up lads with food and service .

Now I'm not normally one to take a risk or venture away from the household names such as Akbars however, on a cold Saturday night me and wife decided queuing for table at a restaurant which appealed more for its extravagance and exterior appeal didn't quite cut it and opted for Khans Tandoori on Borough Rd. To class the service/ food and price anything less than excellent would be critical of an establishment which goes above and beyond in ensuring quality customer service. Onto the food. I for one like my dishes hot whereas my wife is the exact opposite however both our taste buds were duly catered for. Mixed Grill for starters followed by a Rogan Josh and Chicken Tikka Masala accompanied with your usual Pilau RIce, Naan Bread and Poppadoms/Condiments were cooked to perfection and left us licking our fingers but too full for seconds. Needless to say we didn't have to wait long between courses or have that feeling of pressured to sit eat pay and go like some restaurants as they strive to turn tables.As briefly touched upon the service is excellent and a special mention must be made about "Iffy" who is a real gem and always at your beck and call.A must visit and if your not the type to go out for an Indian then they deliver practically everywhere.

After trying most Indian restaurants around Teesside this one has to be the best for money/quality. The food was ridiculously underpriced for the quality which matches if not exceeds akbars! It was hard to park near and only had 3 tables occupied but the owner was really friendly and chatty. The food came quiclky and was hot/fresh and extremely tasty. Would recommend and will be going back at some point.

They are 2 Khans restaurants within Middlesbrough one time they were 3 all within 10 minutes walk from each other.This one is the "gem" located close to the crown pub on Borough road the restaurant surroundings are inviting each time when we have been in its pretty relaxed with a lot of couples/families dining service is swift and staff are friendly.Me and my girlfriend tried the buffet menu for £12.50 per head it was great value popodoms and pickles followed by starters which was mixed tandori chicken bites samosa spring rolls onion baji with a good helping of fresh green side salad.Then main course of pilau rice and curry with naan bread and choice of curry, i had the lamb rogan josh my girlfriend opted for chicken korma everything thing was perfect with the food.Also i think curry must be the new dine in at home food as whilst we were there id say the delivery phone line never stoped ringing for punters wanting good food delivered.They are a good handfull of curry restaurants about in the area but theres only Khans Borough rd and Jamals i will eat at.
