Ordered quite a few things last week. Everything, literally everything was bland. Had to redo everything at home, couldn't eat any curry or rice, chicken was not cooked properly, pink on the inside, no spices or flavour to anything. Won't be spending my money again .

I found the food again on using for the second time running bland. Medium dishes tasted more like a mild dish. The lamb was cooked very nice though. Maybe I need to go hotter for a bit more spice.

The food delivered was without doubt the worst Indian food that I have encountered. The mixed grill was essentially one single desiccated chicken leg, a dry chicken (?) kofta and one half of a prawn. The mixed vegetable curry was like a strained daal with a few chopped potatoes. Shocking that Jolsha would deem this to be acceptable.

Without question, the order delivered from Jolsha was these worst Indian food that I have encountered. The vegetable curry was like strained daal with a few chopped potatoes, the mixed grill was just laughable, overdone chicken leg, bone dry kofta, I didn’t bother with anything else. The lettuce salad and yoghurt were the highlight of this zero rating meal. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

The food was lukewarm and mediocre. The starter I had was prawn puri which was very thick doughy chewy puri with very little filling and dry. I had better prawn puri elsewhere. My friends had 4 pieces of onion bhaji and another had ample size chicken kebab/skewers but my hubby only got 2 tiny pieces of samosas which was frozen pre-made. How can they justify the portion??? All of the curries were lukewarm, average with overcooked chicken and greasy sauce or limited sauces. The nan bread were average. I wouldnt come again as I rather go somewhere else that does it amazing. Unless you want to lose weight by going to toilet as soon as you get home which what happened to my friend.

Visited Jolsha’s in Marton on Sunday evening 28th April 2024 and was somewhat disappointed I was in a party celebrating a friends 70th birthday. Firstly I would like to say the restaurant appearance was very good nicely decorated clean and tidy. The staff waiting at the tables were very polite and friendly and couldn’t fault them. Popadoms and pickles were great and so was my starter which was chicken tikka. However my main course which was king prawns in a tikka sauce i couldn’t believe prawns were still in their shells in the sauce ! How do you sort that one out ! Most of our parties meal choices were very bland and lacked the Indian spices and tastes that you would expect from a good Indian chef so this left us very disappointed. Will be a while before we consider going again. Didn’t like to complain on the day and embarrass our host

We had heard a few good comments about this venue so desired to 'give it a try' The hot food was served very hot (temperature wise) to the table..After waiting 30 minutes between starters and main course we had to ask where the main course orders are ? The service although polite was nothing special..The atmosphre felt like a school dining room, and lacked any kind of ambiance..Will we return not so sure, as there are lots of other local places in a same price range which may offer better value..

I visited Jolsha for the first time the other day. I ordered a take away to be picked up at 6pm I arrived at the takeaway early and asked at the restaurant if I could have my food early, but they said that the time of the food could not be changed, so I had to just wait in the car until it was ready. I came upstairs (to wait in the restaurant for the food) and sat down, it was 5:45pm, the restaurant had about 3 families eating meals, so they werent too busy. So I waited until 6pm, I asked the lady at the bar if there was an update on my takeaway and she said that it was being prepared (??). A gentleman came in to also pick up a takeaway and he left before me! 6:10pm and the lady finally came with my takeaway, and handed me a complimentary bottle of Coke for my wait. The food: was really not great at all, very poor, the chicken tikka masala tasted like a curry from Tesco and so did the onion bhaji. The bread was okay, I suppose. Honestly, the food was really rubbish and I don't think I will be coming here again.

Do not visit if your using a vehicle and parking in the car park . We had a meeting in the restaurant followed by a meal for 4 people . At no point did they tell us of the limited time car parking, when the manager was asked to help to clear the parking fine with the agents as proof we were indeed in the resteraunt he became very abusive and slammed the telephone down. Food wasn't that great, atmosphere terrible and being pestered constantly by 3 different waiter. We made the booking and advised we would be having a meeting with drinks then a meal and despite this still failed to tell any of the party of the parking situation. We will never use this venue again. Very expensive night with average food and poor service .

I started off on here, prior to making a reservation at Jolsha, by reading the reviews on the restaurant and noticed the amount of positive/excellent reviews but as always, I opted to read the negative reviews first from 1 and 2 stars. They highlight what to look out for and are critical but the majority are from the COVID era of 2020 to 2022. Very few are from 2023 and the present day, which most of which are positive of 4 and 5 stars ratings. Well my review is another 5 stars rating. I went with my girlfriend for an 8pm reservation to the Marton restaurant but turned up at 7:50pm and we were shown to a window table with an open window. As it turns out, a welcome addition for the meal we were to have. The restaurant wasn't busy per say, but there were a number of customers at tables and a large party at one of the tables. We were tended to pretty much immediately with Poppadoms and 5 selections of dips: Raiti, Lime Chutney, Mango Chutney, Onions and Tomato and Tamarind Sauce, which I commented tasted like a Bombay Bad Boy Pot Noodle. I got a Kingfisher draught beer and my girlfriend got a Kopperburg Mixed Fruit which arrived shortly after the poppadoms and dips came. My usual go-to Chicken Vindaloo was replaced by Chicken Tikka Jublly, with Garlic Pilau with added Green Chillies and the usual Keema Nan. My girlfriend ordered a Chicken Tikka Rogan Josh, Mushroom Pilau and Garlic Nan. The poppadoms and dips went down well with the lime chutney being completely eaten, which was eased with the raiti. The onions and tomato was mainly left untouched, but purely a personal choice. As for the main course, the chicken tikka jublly on the cast iron skillet, which was still bubbling when it was served to me was fantastic and the garlic chilli pilau, just wow! That certainly raised the heat factor of the food. That open window and the breeze was a godsend! The keema nan was tasty and soft to eat. The meal itself, I just managed to finish off as it was very filling, tasty and satisfying. However, I did 'doggy bag' 2 slices of my keema nan as I was 'full to bust'. My girlfriend was beaten by the amount of food but she was very happy with her meal as well. Parking outside Jolsha was limited to 2 hours but with an app, this time could be extended but from getting in at around 8pm, we were finished for 9pm, but I must add, we were still offered another drink at the end of our meal and at no point did we feel we were being rushed or likewise, ignored by waiter staff. My final thoughts, about never having visited Jolsha before, despite it being walking distance from home were mixed. I'd left it this long but it appears that after it was first opened, the reviews and feedback wasn't great so not visiting until this point, maybe the quality of the food and service has dramatically improved, which, to be honest, a bad restaurant experience affects your opinion on returning again. but I can safely say, as they also offer a takeaway as well as the dine-in meal, this will be my go-to for Indian food in the future.

First time here for a takeout and for me personally it was one of the worst Indian takeaways I've ever had! The Chicken Tawa was like it had came out of a jar! and the tandoori roti was greasy and tastless. The mixed grill said it included king prawns but didn't contain any. To top it off it was pushing 30 pound and its safe to say its my first and last time at the Jolsha. This is my own personal opinion please try it for yourself as everyones opinion is diffrent.

The food was delivered promptly and was hot on arrival - we are only 5 minutes down the road! Everyone enjoyed their meals, however I thought my lamb bhuna was rather lacking in flavour and very very mild, but there was lots of tender meat that had been cooked well. Everyone else enjoyed their chicken tikka masalas (note these contain almond which is clearly shown on their menu). We enjoyed our poppadoms (tried the spicy one too but can't recommend) but unfortunately 2 of our dips were missing, that we had paid for, so dropping another star. Not available to order via Just Eat but they have their own website and you can order direct from them online. We paid £76 for 4 curries with rice, 3 naan breads and 6 poppadoms with dips. Usually when you spend a bit at other take aways we get something small as a freebie (spring rolls or naan or something), but not from here. Also the portions weren't huge, we all ate our full meals when usually we leave some for the next day. Summary: we ate all the food and did enjoy it, but nothing special, a bit disappointing as we have heard so many great reviews of this place

However my wife and I visited tonight and I was appalled at the customer service. Fine we were a walk in so no table available we ordered a takeaway paid and then got ignored. I asked after Az who used to run the restaurant and was bluntly told he has left. Our meal was not ready after 40 minutes and we were told they were just starting it . We asked for our money back and received it without any apology. Very poor customer service abrupt staff and we will not be returning. You have lost a local and frequent customer.

I have been visiting this restaurant since it opened, I have sung its praises and reccomended it to friends and family. My last visit was a huge let down. Prices have risen exponentially and enormously. My meal was dreadful, chicken pubally and a chapatti. The chapatti was not cooked through, it was soggy in parts and when held the pastry stuck to the fingers, the Pubally was the worst ever. Meat was as tough as old leather, the sauce had none of the subtlety I have come to know, it was bland and pretty tasteless, a huge disappointment after being a long term customer usually eating this same dish. Tap water is supplied in stoppered bottles, my wife asked for a bottle and before I realised what was transpiring a bottle of commercial water was fetched to the table. My wife mistakenly opened this. At this point I realised the mistake but she had opened the bottle. On enquiring I was told that this bottle cost £4-50 against free bottled tap water, I complained and was not charged for this. In my world no person in their right mind pays £4-50 for a bottle of water when this can be obtained for £1-10 in a supermarket or for free in the restaurant. I was told by staff that the head chef was not cooking that night and the number 2 chef was doing the honours, alas a not very honourable result. I shall give this place one more try but if the dreadful meal is repeated then I shall have to cast my net wider. Even bearing in mind the fiscal state of the country I feel the price rises are unrealistic and would advise the owners to review them. Truly disappointed.

Visited for a family meal (21st) on 30th Dec (group of 10 adults). We’d visited on the evening of the 29th to drop off some balloons and table decorations, also to discuss some particular dietary requirements and pre-order some wine for the table from the drinks menu, which was readily available in the restaurant: 2 bottles of Sauvignon blanc @£17.95 each. 1 bottle of Shiraz @ £15.95. 1 bottle of Merlot @ £16.95. On the evening of the 30th the staff were helpful with the dietary requirements, and were swift & attentive with the food & drinks orders. The food was generally tasty and 1 or 2 dishes were indeed suitably spicy. However when the bill arrived at the end of the evening the charges for all 3 wines were inflated to: £24.95 for the Sauvignon rather than £17.95. £19.95 for the merlot rather than £16.95. £17.95 for the Shiraz rather than £15.95. Total over charge of £19.. I therefore approached the staff at the bar/till explaining that I think there’s a error with the charges compared to their menu prices, the response was that those are the new and correct prices. After pointing out their drinks menu is still on display showing the lower prices and a further attempt to explain that I expect to pay their advertised price, another member of the restaurant team arrived (suspect to be a junior manager?). He also tried to tell me that the prices have changed and that I should accept this and pay the bill. Attempts made to explain that this was not appropriate and trading standards would take a dim view of their overcharging, he proceeded to insult me and tried to say that they’d not had time to correct the prices. My wife had by now joined the conversation and confirmed the prices of the wine were as per the menus which were still on display, the junior manager then simply refused to talk me even though he was expecting me to pay the bill (+ £320), and continued to insult me. After much embarrassing debate the junior manager agreed a reduction of £18.78. Unfortunately due the appalling way this junior manager behaved I will not be returning to Jolsha at Marton shops…..!!

We visited for a 21st birthday meal as part of a group of 11 adults. Meal was ok. There was nothing wrong with the food but there was nothing special about either. Our problem came at the end of the evening when a member of our party went up to pay the whole bill and discovered they were trying to over charge on the wine. There were 4 bottles of house wine. ( 2 x Red & 2 x White ) I believe it was. They wanted to charge over £25 per bottle when the drinks menu’s on the table clearly state £17.95 I believe it was. When this was pointed out, they simply said it’s gone up. Of course this unacceptable. 10 minutes of arguments, involving two members of our party to get them to except this point and adjust the bill. I can’t imagine ever going back. To sum up - Parking restrictions of only 2 hours free, a bit stupid. Food, nothing special. Customer service award - they won’t be winning one any time soon.

The food was OK, not the best Indian. They got the order incorrect (served several boiled rice instead of nan bread and when ask to correct they did but then charged us extra for it even though 3 rices werent ordered or eaten) and I had to ask for clean cutlery as the ones set out were dirty. If I went again I would ask for more spice in the pathia and it was extremely mild, no heat whatsoever. It wasn't the worse, so give it a try as my experience might have been a one off.

Been tonight the worst 2 curry's I've ever had or tasted, restaurant? I wouldn't expect the food like that from a takeaway, dunno were to start lamb balti, bland watery badly cooked, the other dish had carrots and peas and sweetcorn in not adversed on menu, also really bland it smelt of stew, I've honestly cooked better curry's of YouTube and my own base sauce, u would nit care it was 5.20 I was the only first person their so no excuses

We ordered one chicken and one lamb dopiaza. Both where completely devoid of taste, partially cooked (to call the sizing of the chicken and onion piece's contained in it rustic would have been kind) and cold when they arrived. The accompanying onion bahjis where cremated. Altogether a meal fit for one place, the bin. Hugely disappointed as we have eaten in the restaurant multiple times and always found it superb.

Disappointed as they had good reviews. Place was busy which was nice but food was bland and had no spice or heat to it and basically all tasted the same. We ordered multiple curries to try different flavours and Heat level from medium to hot and all lacked any heat or flavour but chicken wasn't overdone which was a positive. Naan bread was doughy one end and a bit overcooked on the other. Some of the starters were enjoyable. Staff were friendly but probably wouldn't return which is a shame

Good tastes great. It’s a shame that it takes over 2 hours from order to delivery. Food was lukewarm when it arrived.
