KFC Newton Aycliffe - A167 in County Durham

I've visited this place multiple times, hoping the service and quality would improve, but it consistently falls short. The service here is never the quickest, and ordering ahead doesn't seem to make much of a difference-it's still a long wait every time. On top of that, I'm often left disappointed by the portion size of the 4-piece meal. As you can see in the picture, it feels a bit underwhelming for what I'm paying. To add to the frustration, the chips rarely come properly seasoned. The new seasoning is actually really good when they apply it generously, but usually, there's barely a sprinkle, and it doesn't do the flavor justice. I keep hoping for better, but this place just doesn't seem to deliver on speed, portion size, or consistency in flavor.

First time trying KFC, a little known fried chicken dispenserary.... I honestly can't believe more people don't know about this hidden gem. Chicken was hot, moist, and delicious. Crispy, soft, and carefully prepared. It was a meal that I will never forget and will be sure to tell my grandchildren about. I'm going through some tough times so as the bargain bucket was nearly finished I did start uncontrollably crying, but the attentive staff noticed my pain and consoled me with some tissues and some free chicken scraps that had been dropped on the floor. This touched me immensely, and I am honoured to say I will be back. These guys have a customer for life. Ample parking as well, which is a bonus

Chicken was lukewarm warm the staff did not even put a wipe on the tray or a fork for coleslaw and when I took the wings back because they were not hot got offered another bag that was exactly the same. The chicken burger was hot and ok though. Guess it’s a bit hot and miss on what you order and their ability to cook it.

This KFC is terrible. I waited 20 mins for chicken poppers, having travelled 4 hours, got sick of waiting, and asked for a refund. Staff here are very slow and don't seem to have a clue what they are doing.

Not sure what's going on here, but KFC have actually supplied crispy, just-cooked chicken with good counter service !! Seems new coating on chicken ? Been twice now and enjoyed.

Food was super fresh and the workers were super polite and accommodating since me and my homies are not from here.

EDIT: I gave this place 5 stars 3 years ago when they first opened , I have to edit my review now and class this as the worst KFC I’ve ever been to. It’s badly run and the food is terrible. If you go at night time they have barely any staff working and they will say they have ran lot of certain products. I’ve also been during the day where they gave me someone else’s order. The food quality here isn’t as good as other KFCs. The only positive I can now say is that the inside of the restaurant is nice and modern. I do not recommend this place.

What can I say its fast food place

I had to wait a few minutes but it was worth the wait. The food was cooked to perfection. The new style fries are a winner.

Ordered at the drive through. Checked the order was right on the screen. Paid at the window. Collected at next window. Got home and realised she hadn't given us the drinks and also missing a chicken meal. So annoying.

100% the worst kfc I’ve ever been to, went in there between half 9 and 10 and was the only person in there, I tried to look for the deal they were offering, so went on the computer screens and couldn’t find it so decided to walk over to the counter, after 5 to 10 minutes of no one coming to me I decided to go back to the computer screen and eventually found the deal on offer, mini fillet burger popcorn chicken and chips £2.99, on then placing an order for myself and my missus I stood there for over 20 minutes before a young girl passed me my order and said sorry about the wait with a somewhat smirk has if she couldn’t give two hoots, so after all that I thought at least the food should be freshly cooked and piping hot, which to be honest my missus 3 piece of chicken were but for £5.49 they were tiny pieces of chicken, then for me to start eating my food which was stone cold and my mini fillet burger had no lettuce on, I think is one pee take to much, if I wasn’t so far away from home I would of returned the food but like the staff I couldn’t be arsed

they never, ever, ever remember the sauces. imagine a dipping bucket with no sauces?? gross plate of beige. they’ve even forgotten a full 1.5 litre of pop before. never again

3rd time in a row they have left food out of our family box’s ! And Rats everywhere. Avoid !!

So disappointed, there was 2 strands of lettuce on each of the burgers and a blob of sauce, the cookies were burnt £28 spent on fire food won’t be using again, didn’t think to take photo of burger as we just wanted to eat

Ok, I might be bias. But service was top, food was top, (did they give me extra large chicken for this review)? Well no...we all enjoyed it and it was very filling. I think this was my first time and can't wait to go back.

I have just had the most disgusting take away from the KFC at Newton Aycliffe. Cold and Dripping with oil and very soggy because of it. There was a small pool of Oil in the tub. This was both the chips and the chicken. If I could post the pictures I took I would. One Star for the food cos the gravy was decent. Kids serving were friendly and swift which was OK but I know why now

The worst customer service I have ever experienced

Just been there and I would not recommend going at all.. The customer service is abysmal, wouldn't take Defence Discount Card as you have to have the app apparently yet elsewhere they take it. Asked for the manager and she was it on the mic apparently shouldn't she be watching her staff if she's the manager. Also as the brown bag was passed over it started to tear and split on the bottom and food went all over car as well as the coke.. BTW a brand new car may I say,, maybe I should sent the valeting bill, washing of clothes bill and a refund for the whole order as it all had to go in the bin etc to them.. bloody hopeless!! I RECOMMEND YOU STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE AS YOU CAN.... UNLESS THIS IS HOW YOU WANT TO BE TREATED.. DON'T DO IT!!!!!

Probably the worst kfc I’ve witnessed was sat in a bay for 15/20 minutes waiting on 2 burgers and a kids meal and they’ve messed one burger and the pieces of chicken that came with were stale I never touched mine as it was freezing can’t even get hold of them to complain

Again went here for a treat and let down again food not in the bag yes supposed to check but how hard is it to read what I orderd take your time your not busy , needs better management and training

Absolutely the worst KFC I've had the misfortunes to visit. Customer service is totally non-existent. The duty manager, a young woman in here late 20s, was literally surly and just did not care, plain and simple. Made me wait over 25 minutes for my order because they only had one working fryer. Pathetic.

Always brilliant food from this branch of kfc never had any complaints where as up the road thinford big disappointment. Well done a167 KFC 🍗 👏 👍

Absolute travesty of a location, they're constantly closing or turning off deliveries early. And when the food IS sent its not worth the money spent

Restaurant was very clean. Had an issue with the app but the staff went out their way to help and get it sorted. Food was ready within minutes. Great experience overall.

Worst place waiting 40 min for a mighty bucket

Yesterday I have been there.. usually I go to kfc after work in this one.. First of all.. flies all over the place , not hygienic at all.. left overs on the table accumulated..dirty tables..deliveroo receipts and just eat sticking out..tablets sounds.. and the food seemed OK.. it took longer then usual to come bit it was OK.. except . That after 5 or 6 hours I was feeling like vomiting..could.not sleep at all..and this morning I can only let you imagine....cramps in my stomachs.. and more.....if they do not contact me I ll go straight to head office

It took ages until I got served although I was the only customer in line, food under expectations, tables and door handles all greasy... last time here. You better go accros the road at Mac, thouh I do not encourage this type of food.

They gave me food poisoning, I ordered KFC and have spent the last couple days since, barrelling it out my behind, it's vulgar and uncomfortable, I'm very sore, I initially didn't want to place this review until I woke up at 2am writhing in pain because too much gas has built up in my intestines, I now can't stand this place, which is a shame because the food is usually nice but not worth this risk in the slightest

Food was freshly prepared and hot. However this meant that there was a longer than expected wait. The service was OK. They just plodded on and served it all when it was eventually ready. The atmosphere was poor due to quite a few parents letting toddlers run wild all around everyone else's table while they had a rest. Not KFCs problem and not exclusive to them for sure. The ever present deliveroo drivers rushing in looking sweaty and in general less than smart never adds much to the atmosphere in these places either.

Called for food to take away very disappointed to find the only drinks without sweetners (very nasty)were fresh orange and water, then even though I had bought 2 meal deals I had to pay more for water and orange juice, not very good if anyone is allergic to sweetners

2nd time I’ve visited to discover a 20 minute wait on Fried Chicken. Not really sure why it’s worth visiting with a wait like that. Especially when that’s what they’re suppose to specialise in.

Made me wait over 40 minutes for a wrap which was so badly made that getting it out of the package in one piece was an achievement. One which didn't last long as it promptly spilt all over the floor after attempting a bite due to the tortilla being ripped and improperly folded.

Terrible. £26 for 3 chicken fillet Burgers, all reheated and dry, 3 large fries, cold, and 2 gravy. Absolute rip off and no effort made on food. Won’t be going back.

The food was unpresentable. Two big boxes were used, one for the mighty meal for one and the trilogy meal and the food was placed in any box. It was a total rush job! We were asked if we wanted to go large which was a joke there was less food than when we ordered a standard meal. My husband asked for beans as a side it was the smallest carton imaginable and why we got gravy, I do not know it was not nice. The level of service is not acceptable KFC seem to concentrate on the Uber orders and the drive in customers are left sitting in the car park for a good ten minutes. We will not be back as Thinford provides a much higher level of service.

Awful service second time I've got food from here and the first time items were missing the second time got completely the wrong order and waited nearly 2 hours for delivery. Food was cold and stale. No way to get in touch with the restaurant to correct delivery. Don't bother using them for delivery.

Decided to go inside and order ! Over 10 members of staff on duty,, Order a basic fillet meal with extra fillet on the side..... After 5 minutes i was told there where no beans left, After 10 minutes I was told my order was ready but would have to wait 3 mins for the extra fillet order. 10 minutes later my order was ready,,, 25 minutes for a basic meal and the branch and drive-through was empty. Everything was very cold. Avoid Avoid....

Staff couldn’t be bothered to serve when they did they did it with an attitude that obviously hate there job Order was completely wrong when I asked for what we actually ordered took a long time to come Something as simple as a kfc should be stright forward obviously needs some kind of training of the staff

We went to the drive through and were told that the mighty buckets for 1 were going to be 15 minutes so we said we would wait..girl said we will put in some extras. Parked the car in the pick up point waited 25 minutes got home no extras and the corn I paid for was missing. Not that bothered about the extras but I did expect to receive what I had paid for...won't be rushing back..second time now we had things missing.

Food was lovely, we pre ordered for collection, I was parked up no more than 5-10 minutes before we were on our way home. We got the 12pc boneless (my wife is a baby) and that was more than enough for us and our daughter. Our dogs even got to have some popcorn chicken.

The food was ok, but took a long time to turn up and the seating area was very dirty. Probably better off getting a take out.

Was parked and had to wait for almost half an hour for our drive through order and the place wasn't even busy. Got home with our order and found our Kentucky wrap had no salad or slaw just a dry chicken breast with a blob of mayo inside a wrap. Then took a drink of the 7up we ordered to find it was just soda water with ice. Very disappointed with this order and won't be back in a hurry.

Staff don't care and food wasn't the best very disappointed that a big company like KFC don't have a proper management team that keep these places up to standards😔

KFC not providing enough staff. Food too long to serve - disorganised. Really awful working conditions for staff, expected to deal with customers who want fast food and waiting 20 minutes. Never bothering with KFC again, not anywhere. At least these staff were trying. KFC management at fault.

Waited over 5 minutes for person to speak/take our order. When Staff member did arrive they refused to speak up so couldn't hear. Same person on other side of shop came to take payment... all took way too long. Felt very cold and unwelcoming. Food... well... No lid for boneless bucket.. everything else thrown in on top (sauces napkins etc) Fries thrown into bag so all loose on opening. No care taken at all. Whole new meaning to fast food... disgusting. If you want to be treated like a pig... this is the ideal place for you.

Rude staff on the Uk's slowest drive through. Drive through was empty as was the car park but it still took ages for them to even attempt to take my order . The young girl manning the Drive through was rude and wouldn't serve me until I stopped vaping in my car . The co2 coming out exhaust of cars is more deadly. After serving me she slammed the window before I could even ask for napkins. She was more interested in the tik tok video on her phone . Last time I stop here on my lunch break, I'll just have to use McDonald's instead .

After i use them several times,i can say...Not great,not terrible! The only "problem" is that you have to wait a lot untill your order is done,even if they are not busy.Mabye KFC food,is getting done slower than MC or BK,i don't know. Another thing is the drive thru.This KFC is located in a Motorway Service Station,but they have a height limit of 2.7 meters, and means that I, with my van, cannot enter the drive thru,which is ridiculous for a service station 😂 Staff is friendly.The location is always clean and tidy.Toilets are free and very clean.

Ordered 3 meals on Uber eats. Got sent 1 meal and even that wasn’t correct. It’s an absolute joke that they can’t get an order correct

Has to wait 10 mins for the chicken but staff explained the situation and offered us a drink. We weren't in a hurry for a change so all good.

Though slow, this is a nice place to stop. Passed by around 7pm(ish) last night and here are the pros: 1. Located 5 minutes off the motorway so not too far to divert out. 2. Right next to petrol station. 3. The staff were very polite and helpful even with some customers being impatient. 4. Place is clean, even the toilets. 5. And they cook their recipe well, the best I've had in a while. If you are a patient kind of person, please ignore the negative reviews below and you will appreciate this KFC 🙂 ... Happy Travels

Kept waiting about 5 mins at the drive thru, and it wasn’t as if they were busy.

Chicken isn’t crunchy enough. But still doesn’t offer delivery to aycloffe despite being KFC Newton aycliffe… get with the present.

Expensive, Cold and didn't even get the order right! Tried to call.... No phone number available anywhere. Changed this review several times, but I'm afraid this branch of KFC just gets worse and worse. Waited 20 mins for an order, barely any food ready and next to no staff. You would think they would try harder with a macdonalds 30 seconds away.....

Fast food my backside staff were rude order was wrong never again

Had ran out of some items when we visited. Also got some orders wrong and there have been missing items in some orders on a few visits. So would recommend checking your food before you leave if using the drive-thru. Otherwise really nice.

Worst customer service from these people ever. Placed an online order and paid for it, to the go to the store to collect it and then to tell us it’s not there and we have to pay again. Even though we have proof of payment!!!!! Rude staff, badly trained, 0 customer service… expecting us to pay £60 for a kfc. Never again. That store needs to be closed down.

One of the better KFCs we've recently been to. Would have given 3 stars was not for the wonderful service we received from the staff. Thanks M you were fantastic.
