DALTON Fish & Chips Chinese Restaurant in County Durham

I've just ordered from here the first time and I'm not impressed. No flavour ,totally bland.. I wanted king prawn chow mein but what I've had delivered doesn't resemble king prawns.. £14 down the drain

Boxes we’ve had were lovely. Sent daughter free chopsticks & appetisers. Curry sauce is a bit spicy for kids have to get it separate

Save your money, the food is really awful, it's no taste to it other than grease! Prawn toast is over done, the duck is over done and not tasty it's got something white and hard in some of it. The BBQ sauce is really salty, paid £35.50 for grease and tasteless food.

Outstanding. I’m a proper food snob and I’ve never been satisfied with any Chinese delivery. I ordered the much mega box, you can actually taste all the flavours, nothing bland or all tasting the same. 100% I’ll be back again. Best Chinese takeaway around sunderland area

Waited nearly 2 hours for food , when it arrived everything tasted burnt

When the restaurant decided to be a chip shop I tried it and unfortunately soggy batter and fish not cooked inside chips were cardboard and tasteless....my advice is go to George's bar top of the village

absolutely awful service , ordered and waited 2 hours for our food. rang multiple times and was told it was on the way when it wasn’t. when it finally arrived the driver dropped our food out the bag (yes accidents happen) but he walked away saying it was not his fault. we then rang the shop to be told nobody could authorise a refund so they took a contact number. I then rang again today to be told they have never had a delivery to that address, to which i gave him the postcode and he then hung up on me. would not recommend.

Customer service from these lot are shocking

AVOID AT ALL COSTS Food was dropped on the ground by what I would say was a 12 year old boy who then proceeded to just walk away , shop was rang and got greeted with a load of attitude by staff in the end they said they would issue a refund and rightly so , rang up a few days later about the refund to then get told “ you’ve never Ordered from us before and hung up the phone even when they got told we have proof of order etc

Don't waste your money, took over 2 hrs for delivery, service is shocking, food was cold, never again.

Guy serving tonight was very hostile and off putting , constantly talking on his phone when he presumably is preparing food for me , no , please or thank you , terrible service!

Nice food. But how about giving us the option to pay 10p for the bag our government force you to charge for? Prices are high enough due to their inflation. I'd prefer no bag option.

Ordered a king prawn omelette, there was egg shell in it and the Prawns were jelly ish, and iv been on the toilet all day. The chow main was realy nice no fault with the chow main

False advertising about fish and chips

Lovely food and the staff were very pleasant.

Absolutely disgusting, ordered many times, often collected and never had such an awful meal, 45 mins late, cold cardboard chips, gunky congealed and cold curry sauce. Crackers that where stale, watery curry and prawns that did not taste right! Disappointed as previous meals have been lovely. Rang to complain and apparently spoke to the boss who just laughed at me when I described the meal! Shocking customer service, £30 in the bin!!! Update to review, been trying to get a refund on the food, and have now been blocked online and my comments removed from Facebook, I have not been rude or abusive to them, I have simply stated I would like a refund and explained about the quality of the food, to be told I should have immediately returned the food to the shop, so not only did they deliver atrocious food, after paying for delivery, they then expected me to take it back to the shop at 9pm on a Saturday night to get a refund! I spoke to the owner last night, who offered me half my money back, when I queried half? He said I had eaten some of the food, yeah that’s right to discover it was awful! He said he would think about refunding it all and hung up!!

Food tasty enough, but rarely get the order right, either missing items or " sorry I didn't hear you ask for that " . The language used by staff chatting is not acceptable in a customer area. Shame the service can't match the food.

Just ordered from here and after almost 2 hours of waiting i recieved what must have been the worlds smallest fish, the box it came in was heavier than the actual fish, the fish was so dry and the batter was brown and solid, very very very dissapointing.

Got meal regularly but last week curry sauce spilt all over did ring and they brought another out but in meantime food had gone cold. Husband had to eat his by himself not as planned. Mine went in bin phoned to complain not interested. Been tonight again reminded of last week decided to give me FREE BAG OF CHIPS £1.90 against a wasted £5 meal Customer service rubbish Food is OK meat sometimes poor

I ordered Fish & chips, and because I had to wait an extra 5 minutes for the chips to fry, I was given extra chips and a free can of pop. 3 lovely girls very friendly and polite. The chips were home made and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended and I will be going back. Even if it's just to chat with the lasses. LOL 😊😊😊

Well this is the last time we go to this takeaway. Just found dark brown long hair in our chips. I feel sick that we had eaten the majority of it before it was found

ordered a mixed kebab & chips at 5.45 for collection i was told it would be 10 mins i was still waiting in the shop for it at 6.35 plus the chili sauce was rank (tomato ketchup ) never go there again

Have ordered before 1st time was lovley, 2nd time I ended up with no food as they had decided not to do wraps when I went to pick up our order and this time ordered at 5.20pm still waiting 6.50pm was told at 6.35pm had just left and had other deliveries in the area.

Ordered fish and chips was spot on, not overly greasy like some places, came hot and delivered quickly... Will definitely be my go to chippy from now on

Just had special fried rice and king prawn curry was really nice huge king prawns and lots of meat in the special fried rice would definitely recommend this tried other Chinese takeaways and they don't put big pieces of meat in usually packed out with pieces of ham keep it up guys will order again 👍👍👍

No complaints from me, delivery came on time, order was correct ordered for 6 people, food was fab, and portions were very generous, I had heard mixed reviews but always try myself before making a decision and will most certainly be going back, very tasty and still piping hot on arrival nothing was greasy at all, chios aren't really to my liking but everything else made up for it 👍

Never in my life have I had such disgusting fish & chips the fish was sooo small it was a fillet of fish cut in half so I fillet between 2 people the chips were rock hard and everything tasted of dirty fat urghh

To call it a restaurant is an exaggeration, they provide a few tables where ypu can eat your takeaway order. However the food was of good quality and fresh and very tasty No complaints from us.

Food wasn't really nice got the munchie box for £18 and was pretty bad tasting didn't eat it, most of it went in the bin. Spring rolls tasted like the veg inside was rotten, noodles and rice didn't have the best taste, chips were mushy and bland tasting, chicken balls I was put off with the rest of the food. Only thing I liked out the box was the spare ribs they were nice but the rest tasted horrible. Absolutely gutted was looking forward to it. Such a shame its new opening and the quality was bad.

Food was great before the refurbishment when it was run by Maggie, now it's terrible. Stale prawn crackers. No flavour in the curry, i honestly got the impression the curry had been watered down to go further and gristly chicken, I gave up after a few bites. Kung Po chicken had cheap battered chicken with basic peanuts in sweet and sour sauce. I am not an overly fussy person, who can accept some errors in food, its only human to make mistakes, but for this case I certainly will not be going back, good start considering they just opened..

Do NOT order! It is currently closed and not fulfilling even Just Eat orders even though you can place them.

Disgusting steak was tough and overcooked, gravy was congealed and chips were dry won't be ordering again only good thing arrived early

Ordered early on a Saturday night. Told 1hr for delivery. 3 hrs later still waiting. Phoned and cancelled. Never order again. Pity really as food was good.

I just love Chinese cuisine. There are many out there and each is different because each chef is different. This place, however, is outstanding. If I didn't live so far away I'd be back several times a week. The food is absolutely gorgeous.

Just tried to order food from here baring in mind we have had about 30 meals from here over the last 4 months. The woman on the counter said I was rude and swore at her the last time I called. I wasn't but she was off hand and rude to me and I told the delivery driver that she needed to learn some customer care skills as she was so rude. She would not take my order i asked for the manager and she said she was. Clearly a lie more fool the owners looking at this score !

Odered takeaway through just eat 1030pm yet it got deliered 6pm the next day. Sent it back as it was a day late since then I have not been able to order a meal from the Great Wall.

Ordered here from just eat. The food did not arrive but said on the app it had been delivered. When we rang to find out what had happened the woman claimed that the order hadn't been accepted, there was no record of any order and that the takeaway was now closed despite the app showing they had accepted our order and let us pay for it. We were then told to take it up with just eat as it's not their fault

Poor service when you go as a group to eat in restaurant.

We have ordered from here previously, first few times was poor, then after a few month we tried again and it was very good so we continued for over a year, ordered a meal this evening and it was terrible. It arrived cold( only live minuets away) nothing at all tasted good, soggy taste to everything and where did they get that gravy from. Have they changed the chef?. We will not be placing an order from here in the near future, I left excellent an review when the food was good.
