KFC in Chesterfield

After leaving a review about part of our order missing I get a standard reply. KFC its fantastic that you are going to "take it onboard" However this does not compensate me for the rubbish service. The least I expect is a refund for the items that I paid for but did not receive 😡

Be careful when ordering via Just eat here , after a 2 hour wait we phoned the restaurant to be told it was delivered an hour ago. They checked again and told us the driver has probably stolen the food and it's not the first time it's happened..be warned

Went in to order, the place was completely empty at 6pm on a Satyrday. - thats should been a red flag on its own. Couldn’t use the app or my rewards on the serving screen. There were no table numbers at all on the self serve. My 9 year old wanted to use the loo but unfortunately there was faeces all over the toilets. The food came quickly. Though instead of bringing it over to the table when we’re the only ones in, they just yelled out the order when ‘eat in’ was selected. The boneless chicken were charred. And the non burnt ones didn’t taste that great either. No spoon was given for the beans we had to go ask for spoons and napkins. The staff were kids and we could hear someone getting shouted at from the back and they would have conversations by shouting to each other across the restaurant. A positive- there was 1 lad who came and half wiped a few tables and swept around. Would not recommend. Worst KFC we have been to.

Me and my friends came to this visit tonight, we order a sharing bucket between us. BY FAR THE BEST CHICKEN AROUND! Staff was really helpful and friendly! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Somewhere to be avoided at all costs. Ordered food on the machines,for eating in, asked to put in number of 'flag' (no Flags in the place at all), paid by card, no receipt, sat at table near counter and waited for some sign of order. Large number of people wating for orders near counter and staff were ignoring potential customers approaching counter. After 15 mins went to counter and was ignored by staff, even though the staff near counter were all doing very little other than gazing about. One staff member rushing about doing delivery orders. Eventuall I managed to gain some attention and told them that I was waiting for an order. Given two bags of food, and when opened they were not what was ordered, hardly warm and tasted awful. Waste of my money. Never shall I pass the threshold again.

Worst KFC I have ever had all the food smelt god awful , like the cooking oil was 100 years old , chicken and chips burnt but still cold

Shocking service, staff don't seem to have any idea on what they are doing. Drive-thru get prioritiesed over people eating in or delivery drivers. Waited 20mins for our order. Also noticed other people missing items from their order and then staff arguing back saying they was wrong. Toilets were atrocious, not clean and smelled really bad. The only good thing was the food was hot.

Consistently delivering utter disappointment. The food quality is absolutely poor and Is always a let down. Will never be returning again.

Been here a few times. Every visit, something is broken or not available. Today aircon was broken, so the already struggling staff were red hot and not happy. Not having any chicken available in a kfc is pretty poor! When I finally got my 3 pc meal, I was given 3 of what I class as the duds of the kfc world, 3 drumsticks! When I complained, was told if I wanted breast would be 30 minutes! This place is a shambles, is a disgrace to the kfc name!

most of our order should have been in boxes. When opened all bags, 2 lots of chips missing, everything over cooked, chips cold as well as the chicken, popcorn boxes only half full. Don't expect it to be cold, we have had take away many times from the other fast food outlet across from you and that's not been cold when got home. Spent over £40 I might as well just thrown it away. Q1: Why don't the staff serve you when you arrive at the counter? Q2: Why haven't you got the packaging that is advertised?

Very very poor, chips Luke warm and soggy, beans over cooked and sauce in containers burnt, chicken also overcooked and very dry, if lived closer would have taken back as not usual kfc quality

After probably the most disgusting KFC I've ever had I've spent 2 days in bed with horrendous food poisoning after visiting Monday. I had to take the food back as it wasn't cooked properly and the fanta was flat. The manager looked like she could do with a good wash and refused to refund me 1 part as was a meal deal. Disgusting.

Ordered food through the drive through and was asked to park up . 20 mins later no food . Partner went in to ask were order was and told it had gone out !!! Clearly hadn’t as another member of staff still had receipt a further 15 min wait and order finally came . No apology, nothing . 5 min drive home to find food stone cold and overcooked and side missing and no dips. Terrible service and food . We will not go again and don’t advise anyone else to either .

Very poor service. Only had one member of staff behind counter making food and taking orders whilst the que gets bigger and bigger, food portions very little for price paid. Also missed stuff off of men that we ordered. I wouldn’t recommend going here for food. Maccies is next door spend your money there. Also crushums was on menu and we paid online to find out you can’t get them.

I stopped today and went through the drive through what an appalling piece of customer relations I ordered two wraps and was asked to park up , there was no mention of any kind of delay or que I waited 40 minutes and still no food so I went back through with my car stopped outside the window turned off my engine and refused to move until I got my food I will never use kfc again in any fashion please don’t go here if you want fast food because you won’t get it

partner called from work for a couple of meals to save on cooking today, how shocked I was, he used the drive thru, ordered his food to be told to wait in the carpark, another 4/5 cars was also waiting, I was on facetime to my partner and said we'll at least it will be hot, how wrong was I we live 4 mins away so my food couldn't possibly be cold, when he got home the only thing what was warm was the gravy, so disappointed as myself I do use this branch alot with working on enterprise way, also in the food industry, my partner got refused the 10 crispy strips for £5.99 , so he then ordered 2x megabox plus a large zinger popcorn chicken to then be told at the car we can't serve you the large, the quality was awful and like I said cold, I'm not into re warming chicken up, my partner rung the store to be told he was speaking to the manager on shift to then be told I'll get my manager, so he was told a lie, not very professional, it seems to me your chefs and servers need more training.

I only visit this place about once a month. Most times, they 'forget' something. Today's visit, easy order. Fillet tower burger and a large gravy. Get home. No gravy ! How they miss 1 out of 2 items on an order is beyond belief. I'm sure the staff must be on profit related bonus. Need to go back to staying at the drive thru window and checking through everything before driving off. Food is reasonable though.

Avoid this KFC. I ordered a meal with an unfriendly intercom, was told to park up and waited 20 minutes. After 20 minutes waiting for a single meal I went into the restaurant and asked for my money back. The manager was far from bothered, I’d go as far as saying she didn’t really give a sh!£ The restaurant was empty and there was no reason for the food taking 20 minutes other than the lack of coordination, control or management on display. I wish I had gone to McDonald’s next door - and will in future.

I ordered a big daddy meal and it was like left overs and it had no chicken sandwich and 1 peace of chicken and 9 chips i will never go back because it is horrible and they didnot give me a refund back

I collect a family bucket and all I can say is that the chicken was dripping in fat or whatever they cook the chicken in. I don't know if it had been double cooked or just dropped back in the drier, the chicken must have died of old age, so tuff !!!

Went to KFC this evening with my partner and ordered a boneless banquet and bargain bucket for one, which I waited 10 minutes for someone to come to the intercom. The chicken was undercooked, fries were cold, it was not a very good portion size either, gravy sides were off sell-by date. I am very disappointed in this experience and will not be returning to this KFC.

So much for fast food 15 minute wait for order only people inside at the time. Given wrong order ours given to someone in drive through. Waited another 10 minutes would of walked out if wasnt for charging car

When we walked in the staff was very rude, we ordered our food started to eat it. When tried the gravy it was watery was took it back and they put it in the draw to sell again and gave us a small coleslaw instead and then to top it of they started passing toilet brushes over the counter and started swearing. One lady said I'd love to see who would win when a guy said I should tell them to shut up. So rude

Don't usually write on here about take-aways but after today, feel compelled.Was expecting a little difference to the ordinary with covid, but waited 30 mins at the till to give our order. They were too busy juggling between drive thru and kiosk orders to even notice there was a queue at the till. Had to wait for them to clear all orders before they took our order.While waiting, they closed the drive-thru because they were clearly drowning through being understaffed. The faces of those in the drive-thru were clearly just as pi**ed off as we were. There were no serviettes, unbelievable for a greasy chicken place, guaranteed to get fingers messy, especially when they are telling customers not to lick their fingers under the current climate. Maybe we are expected to wipe them all over the seats? There were no paper plates so went to ask for some, then no fork with salad so had to go ask for that too.When we finally did get the food, it wasn't too bad.Not a fast food place today, quite the opposite. Get more staff, especially on a bank holiday!

Last 4 times I’ve been through the drive through I’ve been given the wrong order, dog s**t restaurant

My daughter and husband eat hear on Saturday evening. Ordered and paid on line. Arrived in the car park, let them know we had arrived and their order was prepared then and hair . Great service and great food

We went as a family for a Saturday treat, when we got there I went to place a order on the self ordering mechanics, which didn’t work. So I went to the counter to see 8 people waiting on orders that had been placed. I has to ask for some service just to place the order, where the man was also rude, to place my order to be told two minutes later that they can’t do my order as they had no chicken and was waiting on 40 prices to be sent out.

Been three times, every time got home with only half the order, so it is very expensive. Staff not got a clue.

Only came to this KFC due to Maccies being done up, drive thru, three cars infront waiting a very long time. Not a good sign, we was waiting for well over 20 minutes, then a further 10 mins for a our food for then to say card had declined. And the staff had no clue what to do, some young girls quite rude, judging by past reviews maccies isn’t the only place that needs a refurb (e.g better staff, communication, service, food)

Staff don’t even no what they are doing, bad attitude,rude, toilets were dirty and smelly, leaking. Food ok when you got it. Only went because McDonalds next door was being done up. Never going there again

This is our local kfc & is appalling! Frequently very long waits only to be told everything asked for is out of stock! Or machines automatically turn off at 9p.m...... crushums either can’t be sold as no lids.. no cups or no ice cream....... no wonder the queues to mc Donald’s next door are always very busy.... at least they have full stock.... very disappointed AVOID

Called today as needed a quick bite for our children after coming off the M1 after a very long journey.The place is really dirty! Our shoes were sticking to the floor as soon as we walked in; obviously old fizzy drinks that have not been cleaned up.You could see spilages of drinks on the seating, again not wiped up. The tables were dirty with crumbs and no loo roll in the toilets.Even though the restaurant was empty when we arrived, and there were 4 or 5 staff in, no one was cleaning. We ordered but then waited for 20 mins to get out food . Not self service at all.......we could have cooked it ourselves quicker.The food when it arrived had been pre cooked and warmed up, you could tell. Both chips and my chicken popcorn were soggy, not crispy, as usual KFC is!It is such a shame as this place could be a gold mine. Just off M1 .I will not go back.

Didn't even order, stood waiting inside for five minutes while three staff serves one car, didn't acknowledge me or the customer in front waiting to order also, manager was more obsessed about putting cookies in a display unit. Not even busy not worth it, unwelcoming and dire. Brand has gone kapur, fast food doesn't exist here anymore

We arrived just after 930 (closing is at 10) to see that the place was pretty much shut up .. we were told take away and cash only so agreed and ordered What we were served felt like left-overs ... The fries were less than luke-warm and the chicken looked like it had given up trying to swim in the grease. This shows how powerfully a franchise ethos can affect the brand ... Poor staff, poor food, all round attitude of indifference as long as the money rolls in

Just sat in the drive through for 30 minutes, couldn’t move, no apologies once I finally got my food and to top it off there was food missing! The phone number is not published anywhere! The staff were clearly incompetent, this place needs shutting down!

As a KFC customer, I am accustomed to better. My 3 piece meal was woefully underwhelming. So much so that I left my food and went to McDonalds. So many flies,tables unclear, floor not swept. Cashier fine ,receipt code 65045076191110 feel free to contact me.

What have they done to KFC? Used to be better than MacDonald but not any more. Order boards don't work as they said Americano was not available. Menu choices very poor with some odd sides on offer. Latte coffee was cold and had to be replaced. Very understaffed although they were doing their best. Never to be visited again by us.

I went in during my 30min lunch break and chose the Boneless banquet meal. There were only two servers to cover the counter and drive through.

Walked into this kfc to see if it had improved any. Didn't stay floor and tables filthy. Won't be going again

After a 3 hour drive home, I wasn’t in the mood for cooking or washing up and was hankering for a KFC and this was on the route home. No queue as I pulled up and ordered a 6 piece bargain bucket. Payment was taken quickly and the order was correct, but took a while for the food to be delivered. Not sure whether the recipe has changed, but didn’t seem to have the same kick as previously. Meal was okay, but felt it could have been better.

Just called in whilst working for a fillet box meal with a latte. Latte sat prepared for 10 mins while I waited for my box meal which came in a bag (Box meal ?). On sitting down in my vehicle I discovered that the fries aren't cooked properly and I'm missing the chicken side. Had to return for the side and by this time my coffee was stone cold. Staff not very friendly. I threw the coffee away after the response I got from going back for the chicken. Terrible service and a customer lost.

Called at the drive through on our way out. Meal took a good half hour and when we left realised it was wrong. Went back and the manager corrected it. Got back in the car and children had still got things missing from their meal. Didn't go back as it was too late to go to our destination so we went home. Avoid at all costs!!!!! Would have been a zero mark if we could.

Unbelievable time between ordering and getting my food. Next time will go to another restaurant as this one is not worth the wait.

Food was ready quickly and was warm on receipt. Cheaper that the Services either side of it on the M1 so well worth the tiny detour. Loads of parking and eatery was clean. 3 stars as its fast food not a Gourmet Eatery.

Called in for two quick meals and what we had was served to perfection. It was absolutely red hot. The lady behind the counter was friendly (despite the fact that there were two boys aged about 10-12 on there own and being very noisy in the restaurant). My slight criticism is that on the last 3 times we have visited, the ice cream machine has been out of order, but the lady behind the counter was very apologetic and slightly embarrassed that it was still out of order.

This time our visit to this KFC was good. The order was completed quickly and the food was hot. Shame that they'd ran out of cherry Pepsi max though. I also think that KFC should introduce some more vegetarian options as some families have meat eaters and non meat eaters and I think these families might visit more if there were more options for vegetarians.

I use this KFC regularly, they have fresh tasty chicken, the chips are NOT good, Store is always clean, staff friendly. Convenient to get to.

Been a few times, and the order has came incorrect of all occasions. Due to the food being taken home it's too late to go back and complain.

Came here staff where nice on got food straight away. Was clean too and had a cleaner in the dining area which is rare for kfc.

Completely incompetent, went with a couple of friends basic verbal communication was difficult. From ordering to food being ready took 15 minutes, and was then wrong. Seating area was dirty with no clean tables.

Every time I go here the food is horrendous, the chips today had obviously been left out for a very long time, the chicken wasn’t fresh it was really soggy. They forgot half of our order. Staff were talking about other staff members in front of customers.

Went through the drive through after a long drive home ordered 2 x fillet tower box meals and 3 hotwings, got home and discovered we’d been given 2 x fillet tower burger meals instead of the box meals and too late to go back. Not only that but the burgers and hash browns were severely over cooked, the chicken was dry and crunchy, the hash brown was nearly black and the chips undercooked and limp!! All in all wish we hadn’t bothered as it was inedible and we won’t be going to this outlet again due to the food and also the customer service the lady on the mic and window looked and sounded like she would have rather been doing anything else but be there. This is a terrible outlet and lets the kfc name down very badly!

We decided to have lunch here today, Monday. It wasn't busy. We were greeted with a smile and our order was taken. Unfortunately they had run out of all dips except hot sauce, so I changed my order to a chicken fillet rice box. I was so glad I did as it was delicious. It was the first time I had eaten one before. Hot chicken served on a bed of lettuce one side and seasoned rice the other side, plus sweetcorn and salsa, all covered in a drizzle of sauce. Super yummy

Staff attitude is appalling, they just don’t care. Chicken not fully cooked and everything seems rushed. Go through drive in and you can see dirt behind counter. Won’t be going here again.

Yet again had take out and got home to find no fries in order. This is not the 1st time part of order missing. Not happy..

food was disgusting. wanted zinger tower but not got hash browns, wanted fanta orange but not got any. chicken on zinger was flat, dry and only had batter on edges. chips and chicken were stone cold. staff were slow and had one serving in a restaurant which had queues half way down it. staff just didnt seem to care and had poor customer service. not the 1st time i have had a crappy meal its everytime but have gone back thinking it could have changed but that is the last time i go.

KFC are not renowned for its outstanding customer service.

Typical KFC, no surprises here except the prices. I am sure this place is more money that the branch near the town centre. The menu is limited and they tend to show you only special deals and meal deals - not the cheaper or plainer options. For fast cooked chicken, its not a bargain.

Despite it being a very busy Friday evening, the service was speedy. A few presumptions were made though on what dips we wanted and what sauce we wanted on the sundae but they soon rectified this when we let them know what would like. The food was tasty and hot and completely hit the spot. The chicken fillets though did seem salter than normal.

Called in for a quick meal at about 5.20pm on Friday, a few people were waiting for their meals to arrive, but I was the only one at the counter. I stood at the counter while a lady member of staff continued to wipe trays and put a paper ad on each in turn. She looked up said she wouldn't be a minute, but she was. She continued to do this until she had completed the pile.On completion I thought she would serve me, but she was called in to the back of the kitchen, leaving nobody to serve. Eventually a very harassed but pleasant young guy served me. I ordered and waited ages for the meal to arrive, instead of picking the chicken portions from the trays as usual in KFC he had to wait until they arrived from the kitchen in bags. On opening the bag the chicken was swimming in fat, dreadful, the beans were 30 minutes after their serve buy time, but were fine. I would normally have complained, but by that time a queue of about 15 people had formed, and I didn't fancy joining the back of that to complain. When I left most of that queue were still there, and the poor lad was still under pressure on his own. AVOID.

It's the first day back from a little family break and we had a lot to do at home, so we decided to go to KFC for dinner. Even though we live closer to another KFC we give that one a wide berth and drive straight to this one! The staff are always pleasant and the chicken is always cooked brilliantly! We always have gravy and at other restaurants you always get the pale gravy, where as this one is always the good stuff! We've only had one problem with this KFC and it was rectified immediately and they gave us a free meal the next time we went!! I would always tell people to go to this restaurant!

Fantastic service with a very smiley and helpful member of staff. Food was tasty, hot and they remembered everything. Only let down was that they didn't have any rice for the rice meal.

Firstly huge promotion about the new hot chicken not even 2pm and already stocked out so we had to replace our order

Stopped for a quick bit of food on a 100 mile journey. Thought I'd nip to KFC and have the usual 3 piece meal. Only to find that I had a 15 mins wait in line (I can deal with that). What I was disappointed with was the wait of 15 mins for my food. I appreciate your busy but this isn't good enough supply and demand for a bank holiday weekend. If I could recommend that the staff get customer service training to deal with a complaint.

I have been here on 4 occasions in the last month and the service is poor cash only machines not working and the got my order wrong 3 times despite bieng quiet very poor wouldn't use the place again

Turned up only wanting a Krushem and the machine was broken, this has not been the first time it has happened. Disgraceful

As a learner driver, it was my first time going through a drive through. I'm also not amazingly fond of speaking to people due to anxiety issues. However, we were served promptly by a girl called Lucia who was friendly and we had a joke over the tannoy. We pulled round to be served straight away, even given a load of condiments and handwipes without having to ask. Overall, prompt and friendly service, piping hot food and in a completely different league to the KFC in Barlborough!

I love this KFC. It's fairly quiet, unlike the one at the next M1 service station. So, quick service and the chicken always tastes fresh and tender as if it's been made to order.

The restaurant was quite empty (as normal) and clean and tidy. Got served straight away with a smile. Great customer service and helpful staff. Food was served very quickly and was very hot and tasty. Another enjoyable trip to our local KFC.

Its in the ideal location looks like a great and clean resturant but what im rating so bad for is to start i had the new christmas burger and it was falling to bits in the packaging, the potato like fritter ontop was soggy and wasnt nice atall, next there wasnt any napkins, hand wiper, spoons and this was peak tim in the midweek and as i walked outside someone had left one of the bins just outside the door which was inconvenient, not the best kfc ive been to.

I request KFC's far more often than I should! I've had numerous from this restaurant, and to date, haven't have a bad one yet! The food is always hot, the place is nice and tidy, and the staff are very friendly. If you fancy some of the Colonels 11 herbs & spices, get to this one!

Came across this and thought it was ideal as it meant I could drive through eat my food and get away without spending to much time. Food was what I expect from a KFC and not overpriced like other service stations. Also it accepted the colonels club card so meant I got a loyalty stamp which most service stations don't.

I live in Barlborough, and I was (to say the least) relieved to hear about this store opening and may I just say ever since I has chosen to frequent this store, the staff are genuinely helpful and seem like they care. At my most recent order, through the drive through, my son got out of the car to order separately for a friend (he is 10 but small for his age) and as I got to the window a Katherine (contrary to the most recent review, she was very helpful) warned me to be cautious as I drove because she had noticed a young child walking and she couldn't see him any more. This "Katherine D" suggested I park up and go into the store so I could order the extra meal with my son - I did this and got the separate meal first, I was then approached by the Katherine again and asked if I would like her to take my meal and keep it warm and give me fresh fries while my big order (£30) was packed and given to me. For such a young girl she was highly professional and really went the extra mile. As for the lady that served my son and I (a Chloe I believe) she was also friendly and very sensitive while serving my son which is lovely as he is very shy. I always come back to this store and I will always come back. The service has always been high standard however today the whole team blew me away and went the extra mile. For a store which sadly is always understaffed I highly satisfied.

Food is nice. A lot of KFC's are very greasy but this was just nice. Slow but nice. Just dont ask for extra Mayo cos' you'll get charged extra for it. This is after spending nearly £25.00 aswell.

The food was good but service a little slow. I didn't eat in so cannot comment on the premises except to say they seem clean and tidy. Parking was easier than in some places. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Been a number of times and have had to wait at least 5 min for order to be taken then at least 5 min for the food even though there's never been more than 1 person in front of me although the chicken is always hot the chips/fris aren't and when you ask for some hot ones they just grab another bag of cold ones and don't understand why your not happy with it

This newish KFC is located just off the M1 Northbound at the Markham Vale exit. It is essentially an unmarked motorway service station between 2 traditional motorway service stations. I thought I'd give it a try but I have to say my overall impression was one of disappointment. I had a 2 piece variety meal and whilst the chicken was hot and freshly cooked the drumstick and thigh I received were small. Added to this the chips were cold and I left them. I often have a KFC whilst regularly travelling up, down and across our motorway network and whilst I may give this one another chance I certainly wouldn't aim for it. Only average I'm afraid.

Called in for a take way whilst passing byelots of parking food seems nice but a typical Kfc with nice friendly staff

I've been pretty regular to this KFC since it opened, I say regular... Sometimes once a week sometimes once a month!

Been a number of times , never got our order right once. staff don't seem to know the difference between a chicken strip and a chicken portion. Only bits of kids serving behind the counter, and don't seem to know what they are doing. Needless to say we won't be going again. My opinion pathetic training given to these people. The bosses at KFC are not interested.

We recently visited this establishment, having used many other branches throughout the UK. Our journey was returning from Nottingham and we came off Motorway to get something to eat on our way home. The staff (3 females) on the counter appeared to be roaming around like lost chickens. Food orders were being passed into the serving hot cabinets awaiting two of these 3 females to either place them in take away packaging or prepare it for table, eat in customers. Sadly these two seemed like they couldn't understand who ordered what on the hi-technical screen system. As for the GIRL on the order till. "Katherine D" She seemed as if she didn't care if people had to stand around waiting for her to ask who required her attention. We stood behind several people who had been waiting for order for quite sometime. When we actually were requested to approach the order till. Katherine stood with a sleepy, dazed expression and my wife had to repeat more than once what we wished to order. Many people were standing around waiting for meals to take away that at other branches would have been dealt with promptly. After around 30 minutes and large number of people now standing blocking anyone else coming towards the counter. The very well orientated, extremely experienced female from the driver through section. Asked if she could assist the two females to sort out who had ordered what meals on the screens. Then a motorist arrived and this female had to return to her own very well organised section of this particular KFC branch. Then after our standing around inside the premises for well over 42mins (still no food in our hands). One of the two females who should have been gathering the individual orders. Said £if anyone wants a refund, we will do this or you can wait another 20mins. I saw several people collect their refunds and walk!. She then asked me once again, personally if I too would like a refund or was I willing to wait another 20mins. I waited so as to observe on behalf of trip advisor what actually would happen whilst I stood taking in everything possible as these three females wandered around behind the counter as if they only started working there that day and no-one was experienced to lead them.
