Have been coming here for years, never had a problem with the food or service until today. Middle aged woman behind the counter was horrible to other members of staff with how she was talking to them infront of everyone, the atmosphere wasn't nice and it was tea time so packed out with customers, very awkward! Waited almost 20 minutes for a yorkshire fishcake to be cooked, finally got home with my order, unwrapped the first item and saw they had given me the wrong order. My partner went back up to tell them we had the wrong order and they basically said they hadn't given us the wrong order and wasn't going to change it. So I didn't get the fishcake, or enough food for the 4 of us, plus after all the messing about having to go back up to try and change it, it was freezing cold aswell. Won't be going there again, terrible service!

This is my go to place when it comes to takeaway fish & chips locally. Although it can be busy sometimes, the staff are quick and friendly. Food is very fresh, especially the fish.

Chips wasn’t as nice as last time I ordered some they didn’t seem freshly done and wasn’t very warm … the halloumi wrap was very nice

For the past four weeks all we have been getting are warm up chips you can tell they are warm ups because they are very dry, hard and spiky after all the price you have to pay these days you should not have to have old chips.

Have been coming here for years and always good portions and consistent quality. Today had the same as usual kebab box meal special despite asking for salad I did not get any the middle aged staff member was not friendly I felt towards me as a pensioner and the portion size was miniscule, four strips of kebab meat. I could have had a return taxi to the shop but doubt my £5.60 would have been refunded due to your error.

We are very disappointed in our fish. It smells and taste off. Also the chips I’ve just nearly chewed on the stone or grit on my tooth, but the fish was inedible

Excellent, as always. Not the cheapest chippy in the area, but consistently good quality food. Saying that, my mini fish special last time was a bit suspect, and still cooked with skin on which is rare these days (I'm not a fan) so fish hit and miss. Everything else though really good, can't really fault!

Lovely food and great staff. Some food items are cooked to order so may take longer during busy times. We definitely recommend :)

Always make you feel welcome always nice food

Not sure what the fish is like here but don't order the Donner meat. Really bad, dry and just tastes bad. Dissapointing.

When we got our food it was cold.

Placed the Order at 8:00PM and we didn’t get a driver till 8:55 when the Restaurant closes at 9:00PM. This is not the first time this has happened. They don’t seem to understand that the restaurants close.

5 stars from me the large cod was beautiful, and although the chips were a little cold they were tasty. I was a little disappointed though, as I was being served a few more customers walked in and the lad who was cleaning the kebab machine stopped to serve them, he cleaned his hands with a quick wipe on his appron, yuk! If he'd been serving me I'd have said something, it doesn't take long to go and wash your hands. Wouldn't put me off going again as you don't know about the standard of hygiene when you walk in anywhere, and as I say the fish was delicious. Perhaps a discussion on regular hand washing is needed.

The driver wasn't able to find us, even with a large sign above the door, and the Burger was burnt.

I was on my way home from work and fancied a takeaway tea,so saw this place,rang my wife to see what rest of family wanted. Called in placed order and didn't have to wait too long before it was ready. Staff very helpful, more importantly the food was delicious. Would highly recommend this place.

Absolutely disgusting the fish is off smells zingy poor portion for £10 all in all this place has really gone down hill won't be ordering again and reporting to trading standards really concerning

Beautiful food as always! Been to this chip shop many times but however today we had 3 hairs in our donner meat, we couldn't eat the rest as it put us off so more than half was wasted. But always been good before.

Wife called in today,Thurs tea time.There were a few waiting for their order. My wife has been going in this chippy for over 25 years and she said the service is the worst it's ever been. There were 3 young ones on serving,the girl was making boxes up whilst completely ignoring my wife waiting to be served. They cannot keep up with orders for delivery and serving people waiting. My wife has vowed never to go in again. By the looks of some other reviews we aren't the only ones disappointed with the service

The chips taste like washing up liquid

I visited one Friday night for takeaway dinner on our way home from shopping. It took over 10 minutes for them to take my order and then another 15 minutes to present me with my order which was nothing special - a large cod, chips and small peas!!! The way they serve the customers is nothing more than shambolic, and the fish and chips nothing special. We have only used this fish and chop shop 3 times, and each time the service has got worse than the last. Needless to say, we will not be going again.

The chicken looked horrible and smelled so bad I didn’t even try it.

Order was made and Just eat driver did not attend to the restaurant. Wouldn’t have come if we didn’t call you. Chip shop was closing.

Chips arrived stale, couldn't eat them and threw them out. Not a great experience tonight, especially considering the price. It's usually worth it as we've had great experience with this Chippy in the past!

Went here again for the first time in a while... Was busy, as we waited for stuff to be cooked... Seems the locals get served first, even if they come in last... Stood and waited, with other people, for what seemed to be 10 - 15 minutes. In the time it took to order a large Cod n chips and a small Fish n chips, several people who's names they knew, came in, ordered, then got their food before us, even though they hadn't pre-ordered, with the same dishes we had ordered, which meant we were waiting for chips to be cooked again... Busy staff and 'Just Eat' drivers coming in, means this place gets busy... Nice food, just a shame about the long wait...

A friend of my wife raves about this place so we had to try it. Our first serving was kebab late at night on a weekday when, who I can only assume is the owner, wasn’t there. The food didn’t blow my head off but it was nice and everything you’d expect from a chippy. Around a month down the line it’s takeaway night in the household and we haven’t stopped thinking about that juicy lamb doner and succulent chicken. I spoke on the phone with the owner and when I hung up I turned to my wife and said ‘what a nice man, I liked him’. Suddenly 15 minutes had passed and a dark cloud hung over my transit courier as I pulled into Littlemoor shops. None the wiser I payed for my food, smiled and raced home exited like Charlie when he found the golden ticket. I walk in, give my wife the wink because in food terms, it was about to go down. We had a double date planned with a kebab and nothing was going to get in the way of tonight. I unwrapped and opened it and little to both of our disappointments we was knocked back with what we saw. On the right there was some golden chunky chips fluffy and all. On the left there was a mixture of Donner meat all mixed up as one would only expect. On top however, it took a turn. There was an excuse of a salad that can only be described as a vegatarian-reverser. There was cabbage (which was gave to me as lettuce) was like chewing on a box of match’s, the cucumber still had last nights seman on and the onion was wearing Harry’s cloke of invisibility. Thats not even the worse part. All of that might still have been edible if the sauce I asked for wasn’t the same size as a very small birds facies We dug and dug into the food to see if it was hidden but we couldn’t find any anywhere. The portion size was literally the size of a fingernail and it completely ruined out food. I thought about using some mayonnaise out of the fridge but that’s not the same, I even thought about driving to the other mockery of a chippy up here but that went out the window too. I’m sad, mad and worst of all still hungry because I couldn’t it. So between the salad and and sauce (the items that come complementary with the meal) they’ve ruined my night, life and probably marriage. Thankyou. Great staff Good prices Easy commute

I had a kebab special from here the other day ,well the meat was dry and the salad was a shocker they should of been ashamed to put on scrapings of cabbage half tomatoe n can I say they just opened so the salad was yesterday's and was not busy so there was no excuse biggest waste of money ..I say all this so they can reflect and make it right for other customers and also they share the same pick as loundsley green chippie ,it surely can't be the same as there food if lovely

Soggy cold Chips, Small cod was half batter and no fish and mushy peas must have been dyed green. Either we had a bad batch or all those top reviews are from people who don’t know what decent fish and chips are.

AVOID AVOID AVOID! Staff are far too busy arguing amongst themselves about taking deliveroo orders and if people will actually come and get them before they close to actually serve the people stood in the shop. Myself and another person stood in the shop for over five minutes before even being acknowledged and then I had to wait while they completed numerous deliveroo orders before I got my simple chips and curry sauce. The other person I would guess will still be there until they close waiting on their order….. PRIORITIES ALL WRONG - SERVE THE PEOPLE IN THE SHOP! I WILL NEVER USE THIS CHIP SHOP AGAIN.

Really disappointed in the portion size of Both the Kebab and chips , it’s feels like we were just given left overs, I’ve used them twice previously in the last two weeks and this order was just sub standard in comparison. Disappointed to say the least

Just a decent fish bar. Fish & Chips used to be cheap food, but after the breakit not anymore. However, the portion is large and tasty. I recommend.

Food was beautiful, loved that the halloumi was in a batter like you’d get a fish, not just breadcrumbs. The gravy was particularly nice and the order came about 20/30 mins earlier than expected! Defo order from here again

Never been disappointed with the food.The staff are always friendly, even when they are ŕun of their feet they find time to be polite. Not our local but we are prepared to travel for the quality of food and service. My Dad will be 95 on 18/05/23, he's very fussy about his Friday teatime treat of fish cake and chips but as never complained when purchased from here.

Best chip shop in Chesterfield, friendly and professional. They can accommodate every customer's needs regardless of the customer's circumstances. The shop is extremely clean and the sales assistance uniforms is always clean and smart. The quality of the products is excellent. You will not be disappointed. I live 12 miles away from Chesterfield and once a month when visiting my auntie we make it our duty to visit the chip shop. All I have to say is quality, quality, and quality you will never be disappointed.

DELICIOUS!! Arrived 45mins early!! piping hot and beautifully cooked!! I had the large cod and peas as I dont eat chips.Hubby had mini fish special!! The cod tonight was huge!! skinless and boneless!! Hubby finished it with the dog!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! our favourite chippy!!

Had fish and chips from here loads of times. The odd bad day but every other time this is up there with the best. Fresh fish, batter not too thick, tasty chips. Kebabs and other stuff are good as well. Staff usually friendly, easy to park and still hot when I get home.

Garbage...Tried here as Chesters was shut and won't be returning. Asked for 3 large fish and chips all without skin and recieved 3 scabby fish with skin on. These were wasted...£30+ meal for 3 wasted. Chips were OK but too greasy., best plus I can give them. Don't waste your money...

Unfortunately my first experience Here was not a pleasant one. As it was our last day at work before breaking up for Christmas, we decided that we was going to order a chippy! Onto just eat, £35 later, waiting around 20-30 minutes, i went back onto the app to realise our order was never confirmed, now I’m at the last 20 minutes of lunch break we decided that we would call the restaurant. I called the restaurant, firstly a gentleman answered, I said “hi there, I have ordered some food on just eat however the app is saying it is yet to be confirmed, please could you advise me on whether we should cancel the order” he did not say a word and just passed the phone over to a lady. The lady on the phone spoke to me in the worst manner, she was not polite AT ALL! She said this is nothing to do with her, they are short staffed so they can’t complete our order, being fairly new to this , I asked her how I go about getting a refund, she was so rude laughing down the phone saying “it has nothing to do with her”. At this point I was so baffled by the way this lady had spoken to me on the phone, surely when we employ people we teach them the correct way to approach people and learn about the importance of speaking to your paying customers with respect? I was so polite to the lady on the phone, all I wanted to know was whether our food order had been noticed as all the staff here was hungry and excited! I’m not one to write reviews and I normally take things with a pinch of salt, however I will not be spoken to like that, I hope the restaurant owner can reflect back onto this review and give his staff some training on how to speak to customers over the phone etc, someone blatantly laughing because “the screen isn’t even on so why would they accept it”. I don’t know, I do not work there , you should not be taking orders on just eat if you are not willing to provide people with there food, I ordered my food from a different restaurant who were amazing, the food was incredible!
