Kettle Cafe in Newport

Staff very welcoming and pleasant.....only had coffee on this visit but willl return to sample some of the lovely food on offer. Like to support local businesses versus large coffee chains

We used this café, after arriving in Newport and gasping for a cup of tea. The café very clean and tea was good. Very strong tea, I might add. The only thing I have to moan about, that at £2-15p a cup, you would expect a full cup of tea, not half.

I have walked past this cafe several times since it had opened and was looking for an excuse to pop in. Once I had seen the advert for custard slices on the door that was the push I needed. The decor is pleasant tasteful use of Grey and light wood, my only criticism is the Black ceiling which does make it slightly dark. However, given the very high ceilings I can see some sense in this choice. The food and drink offering was very good and the aforementioned custard slice was excellent, no photo as I had tucked into it before I thought. The coffee, an Americano without milk, was a cut above. The lunch offering consists of usual fair soups, jacket potatoes with sandwiches and paninis. The large front windows also make it a great place for people watching.

Was the location of Starbucks but now a great new coffee house. Excellent coffee, great selection of cakes and other foods. And, very friendly staff! We'll be back! We'll be regular visitors

Popped in on a Saturday morning for a nice big cup of tea and the most delicious raspberry and white chocolate slice I have ever eaten. So so good, a nice quiet place to sit and look out of the window. Lovely, keep up the good work!
