Paid for a room at a 4 star hotel but we were allocated a room which would have shamed a TravelLodge. Room 19 was situated on the ground-floor between the car-park & the kitchen with a significant amount of road noise, it bore no resemblance to the quality of the rooms shown on their website. Unable to change rooms as hotel was fully booked & we were unable to find alternative accommodation in Keswick at short notice. Glad we only stayed 1 night as we got very little sleep due to location of the room.

A little surprised to find we were the only people booked in for Valentine’s Day but have to say this is a hidden gem. The food was brilliant. We both had the steak and ale pie, best we have ever had. Dan was very attentive & friendly and the service was brilliant. Thank you and we look forward to visiting again.

While staff were friendly and accomadating the room was basic and dirty when we arrived there was stains on the sheets and bath towels and on decorative piece at bottom of bed. There was also an issue with the heating and hot water making it hard to have a hot shower until late on in the day. We were in room 17 and the window did not shut and so the room was cold all week. The bed was rock hard and left us feeling cold and uncomfortable the whole tiimefor £580 for the week this was a dissapointing stay. While I do not normally complain the room was dirty and was and not clean definitely not worth the price.

More of a snack bar feel than a restaurant (theres a much nicer dining room next door but i guess thats for residents?) but we had a friendly greeting and were well served. Food was great, very tasty, esp the fish and chips. Prices were good too, 2 courses with a drink each for £40.

Walls were paper thin. Our neighbour had the TV on all night and it could be heard very clearly. We stayed for 2 nights and did not have a good night's sleep. The mattress was well past its best as each spring could be felt. Breakfast was ok, nothing special but filled us up for the whole day. Although parking is available there are only 4 spaces and they're not exactly easy to get into.

Enjoyable evening meal. Restaurant lacked a bit of atmosphere as the building has just been tagged on to the main hotel. Not an extensive menu but tasty and served by friendly staff. Parking close by.

The hotel is situated very well within Keswick, with park, shops and the Lake area very nearby. It’s just such a shame that what could be very attractive accommodation has been left to diminish so badly. The hotel primarily needs a good clean up both inside and out, closely followed by updating and decoration to justify the pricing. Whilst we were happy with the cooked breakfast, the beautiful view from our room and the hardworking staff, this hotel is currently just not good value for money.

The Keswick Park Hotel is well situated for the town, only a short walk away from a variety of excellent pubs, shops and restaurants. It is, however, located on the junction of a major thoroughfare and so road noise is ever present. The hotel itself is reasonably presentable - albeit the jumble of leaflets and brochures at the entrance could do with a tidy. The staff appear pleasant and reasonably efficient - although on our visit there didn’t appear to be many of them; the receptionist was busy waiting on tables on our arrival. The rooms are something of a throwback to a 70s boarding house. The corridors are decorated with embossed wallpaper whilst the room in which we stayed combined a curious grey textured covering with a slight sparkle and an embossed ‘feature wall’. A freestanding wardrobe and dressing table that your granny would be proud of match the side tables and oak bedstead. To complete the retro feel, gathered lampshades adorn candlestick bedside lamps. In truth, the room feels tired and a little shabby despite being very clean and appearing recently decorated. This, to a large part, is due to the quality of the fixtures and fittings. Doors are thin, lightweight affairs with cheap and flimsy handles; the window seat, whilst welcome, is in cream PVC; the ill-fitting, flimsy plastic toilet seat is entirely in-keeping. Due to ‘COVID restrictions’, breakfast is only served in rooms and had to be ordered the night before from a short list of hot dishes. Whilst the idea of breakfast in bed is always appealing, I doubt carrying uncovered cooked food up two flights of stairs is either COVID or health and safety compliant. I think that they could just be saving a few quid on waiting staff. The food was of an acceptable standard, although the quantity of spinach and hollandaise sauce with the eggs florentine was very meagre. No fruit or cereal was offered and there was no jam or marmalade to go with the toast. Hot drinks are as provided on the in-room tray. The bed was firm and comfy. Overall, whilst not awful, I’d say our experience of the Keswick Park Hotel was very disappointing. Clearly cashing in on half-term trade and the enforced staycation, for what it is I’d say that it is very over-priced. If, however, you have a yearning for a nostalgic trip down memory Lane and don’t object paying for the privilege, this could be the location for you.

Even with the Covid restriction, there was plenty of space in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner time. Dinner was excellent and breakfast was good, though a little limited due to table service only. Highly recommended.

We have just spent a night at the awful Keswick Park Hotel, due to coronavirus there were obviously going to be restrictions, but upon arrival we found that the restaurant and bar areas were totally closed when their web page clearly says it was open, though upon a quick look I’m glad it was.. outdated and in need of a refurbish. We also had to eat our breakfast (family of 4) in our dark small out dated room which viewed a brick wall!!! Considering the over priced room we expected more than this...got to be one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in.... and I travel extensively... take your chances on this one if you dare..

Okay value 3-star hotel but the cooked breakfast very mean. And on two mornings cold. Car park tiny and unless you get in early it's almost impossible to park.

I am writing this as a review of the restaurant in the hotel. We went in to try and eat as were staying in a house nearby. The dining room had one table for 4 with 2 people sitting at it and the rest was empty. I was with my mother and 2 children and there were no other tables for 4 -- only 2 -- in the main dining area. The other area had loads. The server/manager said we must sit at 2 tables and could not be seated together. He refused to move two smaller tables together to accommodate us. We really had to laugh as he was so nasty in his refusal that it was no wonder the dining room had ONE table of people. So we headed back out into the pouring rain and had a lovely meal at a Thai restaurant around the corner. The entire week we were staying we say barely anyone on this restaurant -- food must have been as bad as the service!

Amazing find! Ate here last night after staying in Rosthwaite and having limited options as we had not booked anywhere in advance. We were greater by really friendly staff, a cosy informal atmosphere and a great menu. I am usually a bit dubious about pub fish and chippy, usually preferring to go to an actual chippy, but WOW! They were amazing! We were both really impressed. Great portions after a day walking in Borrowdale and so so tasty. Good range of beers on tap too.

This is a pretty average establishment and looks better from the outside than in . Bit busy and noisy on our visit and food basic . Service good however and if you want a cuppa and cake it’s probably worth a try
