Pescado superior y patatas fritas.

Porción razonable aunque caro a 10 libras.

If you order home delivery you have to trust the company will cook the food properly.Deliveroo delivered early, so any problems with the food are down to Kerbisher and Malt. This is the second and last time I've ordered) from Kerbisher and Malt. Like other reviewers I found the chips poor, mine were undercooked. The whitebait were soggy and the scampi lacking any flavour at all.At least when you're on the premises you can complain and send the food back.

We are not local to ealing but do know the area fairly well and we came across this chip shop which stated they do 'takeaway'. We thought we would give it a go but wish we didn't. We ordered one sausage and one portion of chips. The restaurant side was very quiet so we thought it would be very quick. It took over 25 minutes to get our takeaway! The food quality for poor for the price and the staff clueless. Deliveroo kept coming in and out collecting orders and kept constantly putting those orders in front of ours. Never again and I strongly advise you look elsewhere if you want chips in Ealing. If I could give it zero, I would.

This small chain of fish and chip restaurants has won many awards for its décor and its food and I can see why. They also should have an award for their service which is perfect. We had one of the lunchtime specials which come with either double cooked chips or salad. There was a generous amount of fresh salad. The batter on the halloumi cheese that I had, was the best I've tasted. Altogether it was a great value light bite.

One star is one too many. The fish was bland; no flavour at all and the batter was soggy. The chips were disgusting - not proper chip shop chips at all!! There were like cheap dry chips you'd expect to get in a horrible pub. It was so horrible that after a few mouthfuls we stopped eating it Oh and don't get me started on the price!! £17 for two cod and one chips. All of which were thrown away as they were so disgusting. I would have no problem paying that if the food was as amazing as it claims to be. But to pay that for cheap mass produced food is just an insult. They post all their reviews on the menu - although I'm Not really sure how there are so many fantastic reviews. Do not waste your money for such disappointing food. Stick to your well trusted chippie :)

Good simple "fish and chip" - but with considerable modernisation and refinement.Battered, grilled or even a Kosher version (in Matzo meal) versions available.Haddock in the first two versions very good. Whitebait side order was excellent, as was the home made tartar sauce and superb mushy peas. Good range and quality of beverages. Chips are filling and NOT greasy.Very pleasant and efficient service in a modern, open environment.. All in all, a simple, stress-fee and satisfying experience.

The fish and chips are nice and also varied. Fine for takeaway though a bit expensive. But I don't like eating in here because they insist on serving wine in tumblers rather than proper wine glasses.....It may sound petty but I like my wine in wine glasses otherwise I feel like I'm drinking squash....There's a much better gourmet chippy on Chiswick High Road called Catch. The food there is really lovely with a lot of choice and you feel like you're having a proper night out as they do offer wine glasses..I'd visit K&M for takeaway if in Ealing Broadway or for a lunch but not for dinner.

Visited here last Sunday evening and found the take away price of £9.20 is the same as eating in for their fish and chips meal, when served it was just a single piece of fish on the plate, size on small side and a small bowl of over cooked quite tasteless chips with a few large ones on top with the rest small and hard. (I should have taken a phone photo)The service was not any better than the food I was not offered a menu, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Over six weeks ago we arranged to pick up an order phoned through about an hour prior to collection. We have eaten from the Ealing shop before on several occasions and it was enjoyable at those times. This time however, the food was awful and nobody seemed to care when we contacted them less than ten minutes after pick up. The order was around.£40 and our delight of anticipation turned to disappointment very quickly. Our calamari packs were dry, overlooked and rubbery, fish batter was burnt on all pieces and the fish cake was so tough and overlooked and tasted of nothing but salt. Now everyone has a bad day, no disputes there but the dis interest of the staff member I spoke to was upsetting but at least eventually she took me seriously and advised a supervisor will call back....despite my follow ups I am still waiting to be notified. Never ordering here again, not simply because we may as well have thrown away £40 pounds on burnt inedible food but the lack of caring re custimer service that followed is appauling.

For the price, this is nothing special. We had take-away plaice and chips, and the plaice was utterly tasteless. Was it fish? Was it cardboard? Who knows? Nice concept of a chippy restaurant hybrid so you can eat in, in comfort. Both the batter on the fish and the chips themselves were crunchy on the outside as they should be, nice and decent quality but not the best I have had. I've eaten here on several occasions, at different days and times and have always been impressed with the freshness of the fish and chips, as well as the quality of the fresh tartar sauce. However, the service has become appalling. The staff are distracted and borderline impolite; even when the restaurant is not at all busy. We were even given the bill before asking for it, or before we'd even finished our drinks- our plates had only -just- been cleared!! What used to be a treat has become a dinning experience I'd rather not repeat... such a shame... So, the Kerbisher story is that 'we love fish and chips but felt disappointed by the chippies we used to go to.' I think they will have to include themselves in that statement. The restaurant is clean and fresh with a good hygiene rating, so we thought we'd be in for some well deserved fish and chips. Our plates arrived with a huge piece of battered fish, but the chips.....oh...the chips. How disappointing. These weren't the chips that Kerbisher & Malt had in mind when they set up their restaurants. I am sure they had proper chip shop chips in mind, not the obviously 'fried from frozen' we were subjected to. There was a good portion of them too, but we all left a good amount on the plate. They were tasteless. You just couldn't get enough salt 'n' vinegar on them to make them taste better.Kerbisher & Malt in my opinion fall way off the mark from their own declaration: 'simple, fresh and tasty meal, conjuring up memories, traditions and delicious smells.' If they are to fulfill their mission statement, please, please peel a few spuds, chip them, fry them and serve them to the public. They'll love them!

We just had to try it out here with all the good reviews it has. We were disappointed to say the least. The piece of Cod was burnt, as was the fish cake, and there's no way the staff cooking them couldn't have noticed - they were basically inedible. The mushy peas were ridiculously over salted and not edible either. That said the chips and curry sauce were fantastic and the squid was okay even though it was a very small serve for the price.Definitely not worthy of their current 4 star rating.

I often stay at the Doubletree in Ealing so this was a great find, just few minutes walk away along the high street. The place is not huge (more cafe style than restaurant) but everything is cooked fresh to order. I ordered pollock and chips and got a really good sized portion along with mush peas and of course malt vinegar. They also make their own tartar sauce which was nice. Reasonable price and great taste along with good service. They also do take away so while you may have to wait a few minutes (or you could call ahead), the fish will be freshly cooked instead of sitting under hot lamps and drying out. Will become a staple every time I am in town.

The BF and I took a special trip to Ealing to try out this old-style tiled chippy. He ordered scampi and chips and I chose cod and chips with mushy peas and home made tartare sauce. We also pigged out on salad, bread and butter and a pot of tea. The prices are reasonable. Our server was very helpful and charming. Each element of the plate is charged separately, allowing you to customise what you are served. The cod was beautifully cooked, though the batter was not rave-worthy as it lacked flavour and was a little heavy. The chips were mostly nice, and came in very generous portions. I did not like the tartare sauce, though I'm sure many will - probably just a preference thing. What I absolutely loved and will go back for are the divine mushy peas! I'm from opp north and I know my mushy peas! These were mushy peas the like of which I have not seen equalled in flavour for years, if ever. I would return just for a huge bowl of mushy peas and I recommend anyone visiting K&M Ealing orders the biggest bowl possible, with another on standby!

The mistake we made was that both of us ordered fried fish with chips plus onion rings and in the end we realised that it was too much of fried food on our table. I ordered some fish and chips from the Ealing branch of Kerbisher and Malt having read some rave reviews online about the quality of their food. Chips were good but the fish portions very small (told they only do one size when requested large cods). The quality of the fish was only passable though a tad soggy on the underside, certainly no better than many other chippies. At £6.90 for fish plus £2.00 for chips they are not exactly cheap. Very poor value given the small fish portion! They are however big on boxes to hold the fish and chips (separately of course) and bags to carry said boxes. Service when taking the order nothing to write about either, more matter of fact than pleasant. I am writing because of the extremely misleading reviews specifically in their review section. Comments such as "delicious, a little piece of the British seaside" (Evening Standard) and "UK's best contemporary chippy" (Esquire) defy belief. Apparently The Times believe they are "bringing fish and chips into the 21st century" (what does that mean?), The Mail On Sunday find their onion rings "inspiring" and saddest of all The Telegraph "almost want to write a love poem to their chips". Are these reviews genuine? Do these organizations actually approve of their name being associated with such blatant hype? Enough said.

Been here a few times. When they first opened it was much better, however, it now seems that the fish is not as fresh & suffered a stomach upset to make matters worse! The quality of the food needs to be consistent. As a restaurant setting & the price point, they need to get it right all the time. If it was a regular chippy I'd understand, but even they do a better job.

Worst fish n chip experience ever! Place is so noisy with hard surfaces and full of screaming kids, felt like we were in a playground. Fish tasteless, chips not much better and the squid so rubbery we told the waitress & her response 10% discount off bill, BIG DEAL! Waiting staff are young and inexperienced at customer feedback. Far better fish and chip places around and at more reasonable prices. This is a glorified Kids Fish & Chip Shop! We ate our dinner in a speed of 10 minutes to get out of the place as quick as we could!

Generous portions, rich, melt in your mouth batter on the fish, healthy options, cute little juices, value for money (tastecard)! Will definitely return soon.

I have eaten in and used the take away service at this branch. The fish and chips are consistently excellent and portions generous and good value for London. If you are eating in they also have a really nice selection of drinks etc. I have always found the staff to be 100 per cent helpful and always enjoying dining here. The batter is always nice and light and crunchy and the chips cooked to perfection. A great addition to Ealing.

We visited here as we wanted to have fish and chips and dine in, and it looked a bit nicer than your usual chippy. We were very impressed. It was really clean and the decor was fresh - it felt like being at the sea-side in the middle of ealing! The chips were nice and cripsy on the outside and the battered haddock was just right and not overcooked

Use this place each time I am in London and had a chance again on March 28th to sample the fantastic fish and chips. I've sampled fish and chips in several cities in the UK, but this one for me just shades it as the best. Son had the sausages and my daughter the scampi, both fantastic also, a must visit if in Ealing.

Regularly visit here for lunch with friends during our lunch break, and we sit in rather than take out which is always a very pleasant experience. I don't usually order a lot, most likely a bowl of chips plus a sausage, but I am always very impressed with the taste. Not heavy on the stomach or oily like a traditional 'chippy'. My friends all usually have fish and they all enjoy it taste wise. Portion sizes however are not large here. It's a couple of pounds more for their main meals than what we would pay elsewhere for a lunch menu and the main menu portions here are smaller than those. It is enough for lunch time but again, the price of course does not reflect what you get on your plate. However I cannot fault the staff. We always have fantastic service every time we visit, and this does make sitting in and paying that extra few pounds on a treat day completely worth it. You are also served quickly but to a high standard, which is a lifesaver when you only have an hour for lunch and you need to get back. Overall I can't fault the food or service whatsoever, its only downfall is ghat it is a little pricey!

Had a take out from Kerbisher & Malt this evening. Fantastic battered pollock, lovely crispy batter and fresh fish. My partners battered cod had a very soggy bottom unfortunately , still tasted good though. Chips were great, not limp but crisp and a huge portion. Mushy peas were just right. I ordered by phone and was able to pick up 10 minutes later, all well packed and still hot when we got home. So plan to use again as take out or even eat at the restaurant.

I invite a friend from America that wanted to try the very British fish and chips. Then as my local is only take away I find an excuse to visit the branch in Ealing that looks very nice from the outside. My feeling is that is a bit overpriced!!!!. The portions are small size compare with the price one pay.The place is very nice in the inside but I don't think is a place one can visit very often , especially if you your local is nearly half price!!!

Lovely small restaurant specialising in fish, fish cakes etc and all of the trimmings. They are prepared to perfection and it is clear that everything is fresh and made from genuine ingredients. We visited in a busy Friday lunch session but were immediately seated and served very quickly. My wife had their superb batter on her fish, while I tried the excellent breadcrumbs. Truly the best fish and chips that I have eaten in my sixty plus years.

We love this place - very welcoming staff, lots of lovely design touches and most importantly top fish and chips. Pollock in matzo is fantastic and the chips are proper fish and chip shop chips. They also do a top fish finger sandwich. Beer selection good too. Very good value for eat-in, compared to pubs and other posh fish & chip places.

Portions were average but taste ok though definitely overpriced for what you get.Chips were smaller in portion and fish even smaller .Surroundings ok as theme id a little too sombre/basic-though meant to look that way.

Great design concept that promised a lot, but the food doesn’t live up to it. There’s many an old-fashioned chippy that serves better fish than this.

This used to be worth the money. In the last month we have had two bad experiences with take aways. One we got home and found we had been given incorrect fish, coley instead of cod, annoying because it was watery insipid and went in the bin. I called, no offer of anything for the incorrect order. Next time £8.80 for a miserably small piece of cod and cold chips. They do not have a contact option on their website, no interest in feedback. Started out good, got lots more branches and ant down hill.

7 of us went on Sunday. 4 Haddock 3 Cod. My haddock (if that's what it was) portion was small and thin to say the least, the batter was rock hard at the ends and edges. Unrecognizable as Haddock. My partner's also chose haddock. While a decent size, the batter was oily and uneatable. That plus the worst bowl of chips I have ever eaten means I for one will definitely not be going back. Sorry but I don't believe all the portions were cooked fresh as both fish and chips at the other end of the table seemed much better. As at the Bush branch, quality seems to have slipped badly.

Ordered a simple fish finger butty plus sausage and chips. Well simple to cook you would think and certainly not as quoted "fresh and made to order". More like pre cooked and attempted to be reheated. The sausage was cooked and went back under the grill in a frying pan, seen with my own eyes! The chips were both hot and cold, some stone cold others piping hot, they also had seen the fryer more than once and others must of missed the fryer all together..but funny were cooked but cold. Fish fingers were not fresh, again pre cooked and seen the fryer a few times...and the bread the fish fingers came in was a complete joke and looked like it came from a students 20p bargain value white bread from a well known supermarket. Bread was smothered in cheap margarine that made the bread into a slop and it died a death and was not able to hold the rock hard fish fingers.. Visited Saturday afternoon when quiet and no excuse for appalling food. Get a chef who can cook, the menu is so simple so how did it go so wrong? Badly run show, don't waste your pennies. Made me feel ill, worst food ever.

Often eat here when staying in Ealing either as an eat in or a takeaway. Last time I went however prices seemed to have increased. Not a deal breaker in any way.Recommend the Haddock as the Cod seems to come in a very small portion- the haddock is massive. Have never managed to eat a full portion. Only thing I could really say is that it just seems to be lacking a certain something in the batter- don't get me wrong, it's crispy and tasty but it lacks seasoning. Will most certainly be eating there again.

Went there with family and friends on a Wednesday night. The place is really cool, the atmosphere great and the staff friendly and efficient. The food, however, is really nothing special. I had battered cod with fries and tartare: they were all right, but I expected more from this place, considering the great reviews received.

We popped in for some lunch this afternoon, both waiters were very friendly and the service in general was really good. The restaurant itself had a well thought layout and the authentic decor inside worked really well too.Between the two of us we ordered the fish bites, a chip butty and a portion of whitebait - all were reasonably sized dishes and of course extremely tasty! As you'd expect the bill did come back slightly higher than you'd pay in your average fish and chip shop but it was definitely worth it and we'll be coming back soon!

Just moved to the area and saw this place while eating next door at Boofs one night. Looked really nice from the outside and service was brilliant. With a half time break during the footy my mate needed to break his fast so I flew over to K&M to pick us up some half time munch! Unfortunately the food was appalling! Portions ridiculously small, overpriced (wouldn't be that bad if I was not actually overcharged by over £4) - you needed the hubble space telescope to take a picture of the fish! Most of it ended up in the bin. I'm sure the foxes had no complaints. If you specialise in Fish at Chips - at least get that part right!

I was staying at Ealing and did not fancy the underground journey to "Masters" at Waterloo, my favorite Fish and Chip shop in London. A bonus, was that on a Monday, there is 10% of all food served in the restaurant. I had Cod and Chips and this was freshly fried to order. The chips in particular where very crisp and fat free, but I did find that this made them a little dry. The fish, although not large was adequately sized for the price. The only thing that a thought could have been included was tartar sauce, as an additional price was made for this. Overall though a nice fish and chip restaurant and I would go there to eat again!

I liked this place - the service was outstanding and the food was tremendous. I had the cod and was well pleased with it. The chips were a little different to what I am used to, but they were adequate. The onion rings were great - and I had a piece of the new menu item, the sausage. That was excellent. While I have no doubt about the sincerity of the people behind the restaurant, I was a tad irritated by the menu claims - "sustainably" caught fish. By whose's definition? As author of a new book out shortly on the global fishing industry I find the notion of just saying, on a menu, that something is sustainable is no longer acceptable. Is it MSC defined sustainability; or WWF? Or Greenpeace? And if so, where are the fish coming from? That said they were a fine restaurant and I enjoyed it; just that eating these days is also a political statement.

Very very standard fish and chips. Nothing special. Chips were the frozen kind and a tiny portion. How this meal cost nearly 10 pounds I really don't understand.

This is not a restaurant; it's a fish market located within steps of the Ealing Common tube station. It looks like a great store if you want to cook fish on your own but it's not a restaurant.

I love this plaice. Andy is a local guy and is hands down the owner of the best fish & chip shop in Ealing and probably one of the best in London. All his products are fresh and cooked to your liking in front of you. He is a very charming and genuine chippy who offers great value, service, banter and, of course, fantastic fish, chips and all the rest. If you get a chance try the Rock and the Cod Roe too.
