We recently visited and ordered the Santa Sadya. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The food was served cold, almost as if it had just come out of the freezer. When we raised the issue with the server, her response was dismissive and rude. She mentioned that the food was cooked in the morning and left outside, so it would "definitely" be cold. What was even more surprising was the complete lack of effort to address the issue. Instead of offering to warm up the food or make things right, the staff seemed indifferent. This lack of basic courtesy and customer service is unacceptable. I hope they take this feedback seriously and work on improving both the quality of their food and the professionalism of their staff.

While the food at Kerala Hut is undeniably delicious, the service quality has unfortunately been inconsistent, leading to a less than satisfactory dining experience.

Went to explore this restaurant and loved it...I need to visit again for more dishes. This time we had Podhi choor, chicken lollipop, chicken dum biryani, masala dosa along with their amazing falooda. Didn't like masala dosa as it was not very crispy, but loved other dishes. Would recommend this place to all who want to try Kerala food.

Last night I visited Kerala Hut with high expectations, and while the food was good, the customer service was truly exceptional. Staffs was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made great recommendations and ensured that our glasses were always full. However, the food was a bit of a letdown. We ordered the Masala Dosha and ghee roast, and while they were flavorful, the sambar was unfortunately cold. It was not ok, as the rest of the dish was well-prepared. I would still recommend Kerala Hut for its excellent customer service. The staff truly went above and beyond to ensure that we had a pleasant dining experience.

The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. But the real star of the show was the food - oh, the food! We ordered the Pothi Biriyani and chattichoru, and both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and bold, and the presentation was stunning.

Tried fish biriyani, Kappa biriyani , pothi choru, and BDF as starter. The food was amazing and delicious. This is my first time in Kerala hut, and I really liked the atmosphere and vibe 👌

I had a worst experience. Food was below average and service was too bad. I waited around 2 hours for food. We were three and we ordered Alfham mandi , Chatti choru and Pal porotta. Food was below average and they served mayonnaise only after we finished the mandi. We ordered takeaway also but one of the items in the takeaway was missing. It was a very bad experience and I will never ever recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Thoroughly enjoyed the traditional Kerala food. Starting from classical toddy drinks to beef and kakka and fish. The ambience is awesome with nice decorations, suitable for friends and families.

First time been to this Kerala Hut. First of all, the food was great and taste was good compare to other kerala restaurants. We were on the way to Birmingham from Norfolks. We stopped at this restaurant. The reason I gave 1 star for the service is that, very poor customer service. Poor and unacceptable customer service😡, cant accpet when you dont greet the customer. When we (4 adults and 3 kids) walked in, none of the staff didn't greets us and not even bothered to ask how many you are? When there was a empty table with 6 chairs (previous customers plates were on the table) and I had to tell the staff could you please clear the table for us so that we can sit together. The cleanliness was poor. We had to wait longer for the food🤔. The customers came after us got the food even before us. My kids were ordered 2 Ghee roast (taste is really good), came so late after our food (adults). I understand that there is lots of food deliveries coming in and out. But customer coming into the restaurant is more important. You have to treat with respect. When we ordered the coffee while we had the main course. When I asked the staff, they keep saying "its coming now", came after 30 mins when we finished the course. I was so close walking off the restaurant due to the poor customer service. One staff should focus on the online deliveries and other staffs has to manage the restaurant customers. Poor customer service, people won't come back. I love my food especially kerala food. But i won't and never give any compromise on the customer service. To the Kerala Hut Owners, you have to improve the customer service amd cleanliness. otherwise you will loose customers quick. This restaurant had the worst customer service I ever had in the uk so far. I have worked in fast food chain, and I know the stress and pressure. Very simple, clean as you go once the customer is gone and the table has to ready for the next customer. But this service is below par. I had to give the credit to chef, food was amazing. Next time, i will only order online and which you will get your order quick. Amazing food and poor poor poor customer service. I hope you will improve the customer service. Thank you.

Food was good, had visited the space couple of times. After a couple of research this is the best Kerala restaurant in Northampton. Will recommend to everyone who’s searching in Northampton. But very very very bad service. You have to train your staff for better service.

Food was lovely, the restaurant is very authentic with many Indian diners which proves it must be good! Unfortunately the service was poor - weren’t offered any drinks only a small bottle of water already on table with no glasses, and no opportunity to take leftovers home, but I think this may be due to a big group taking their attention

Me and my wife recently visited 'kerala hut' in Northampton and had a fantastic dining experience! The kanthari kappa paired with crab roast was so delicious, Chattichor was a standout dish. Absolutely loved the mango falooda! The balance of flavours was spot on, and the combination of textures was delightful.The prices at Kerala Hut are also reasonable, making it a good value for the quality of food and service provided. Overall, exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended for those craving kerala food.

I just took a chicken biryani take out from Kerala hut and the chicken taste odd. I came all the way from Bedford for this and this is what I got....totally disappointed

Delicious food! The Crab Roast was rich and flavorful, the Beef Dry Fry tender, and the Garlic Chicken perfectly garlicky. A great spot for well-balanced dishes!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kerala Hut restaurant, Northampton. We travelled from wales to taste kerala food. The ambiance of the restaurant is unique, warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of traditional decor with that makes you feel right at home. The menu is extensive, featuring a delightful mix of traditional Kerala dishes and innovative culinary creations and the price is so affordable. We started with beef deep fry, which was perfectly spiced and crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside. For the main course, we opted for the kanthari kappa, kudukkachi biriyani, alfam chicken mandhi. The kudukkachi biriyani was aromatic and flavourful, with the right balance of spices that made every bite a joy. The kanthari kappa was rich and creamy, along with crab roast was so good 🤤🤤🤤 For drinks we choose falooda which so yummy😍😍 . One of the highlights of our meal was the exceptional service. The staff were always ready to offer recommendations and ensure that we had everything we needed. Overall, kerala hut Restaurant offers not just a meal, but a memorable dining experience. I visited this restaurant expecting something special, but it was just average Kerala cuisine—nothing remarkable, but not terrible either. One of the biggest challenges was the parking, which was extremely difficult to find, making it inconvenient if you're driving.I opted for takeaway, and while I was told it would be ready in 20 minutes, I ended up waiting for 50 minutes. I had to follow up several times, and the staff's response was far from professional—no proper communication or even an apology for the delay.I travelled all the way from Oxford hoping for a standout experience, but this place turned out to be just a typical restaurant. Nothing to make it worth the journey.

Best ever restaurant in luton where you get top quality kerala style food and commendable service. The most outstanding factor is the dining space avaiable. There is enough space for big family get together and for birthday parties. We conducted our son’s birthday party here for 2 times and the food and service was exceptionally good and relatively cheap as well ;). I recommend this place to everyone.

Long wait for food.. porotta was very hard, struggled to chew.. Dum biriyani was below standard. Toilet and wash room was in real bad condition. There was urine blockage in standing urine closet. Toilet also in very bad state. Very poor. This is a honest comment, hope the management will take necessary actions to get things sorted. Good luck

Very good restaurant , nice service, great to go to a place where u can order in malayalam.. The food was tasty, good atmosphere. My wife is a vegetarian and the gobi manchurian with porotta was a hit.. Non veg food is easier to find but very difficult to find good vegetarian options.. All in all great experience

This was a lovely place with lovely Tamil speaking staff. Loved the atmosphere inside and took us back to our time in Kerala. We ordered the chicken dambellani, kappa and fish curry, parotas specifically 'paal parotta' which was basically 3 parottas soaked in milk and beef curry. I don't usually eat beef but this was amazing 🤌🏽😀 10/10 would come back again🥰

We ordered a takeaway as this restaurant was recommended to us. We hoped it would be our go to Indian restaurant/takeaway. I called the restaurant as I had a couple of questions about the food. He said as I was collecting I could place the order on the phone. He didn’t quote a price and I should have checked. When we collected it we noticed the prices were much higher and queried it at the time but he said the website was out of date. I said this was illegal but he wasn’t going to alter it. When we got home which is only 10 minutes away, I had to reheat the food in the microwave when I’d put it on my plate as it was barely lukewarm and the flavour was underwhelming. We then went online as though to put an order through, we paid £27 when we collected it and the price online was £17.40 including a 15% discount that he told us we couldn’t have as they weren’t offering any discounts just now. We get that it’s hard for restaurants just now but this all seems a shambles. I called the restaurant before I wrote this review but didn’t feel they were very sympathetic, in the end they offered us money off next time but there won’t be a next time.

Long waits for the food, I noticed some other customers also complained about food delays. The quality food is below average, beef biryani's rice was okay but the meat was flavourless, basically all of the food we ordered, even kids didn't like it. Service- we have been informed that a bit busy will serve the starters first and delay on mains, we agreed but the main course came before starters. The quantity of food is too much, I prefer quality over quantity.

The food was very delicious and especially their desert (fruit salad) was a hit amongst our guests. The quantity ordered for the party was more than sufficient and could serve whole heartedly to all without limitations.

We went for lunch and the service was very poor. Quality of the food was mediocre as food was nearly cold, especially items such as chattichor and pothichor. An item was missed to serve and received when we about to leave and had to remind the staff about it. Overall poor quality food and service.

We went on lunch time on a Sunday. We did order chtticor, it was below average, meat did not taste nice. Also ordered pothichor, never had such a pathetic pothichor in life. Few items have not been served from the order. Staffs were having a dont care attitude. This place is not for you if you would have ever tasted authentic Kerala food in your life. Went to try masala dosa. Presentation was poor. Sambhar taste was not great. Every table they already put a small water bottle which is not a part of your actual order. They will charge you for it if you open it which is wrong practice. Why they don’t serve water on demand and charge for it? So far below average experience.

Went to kerala Hut multiple times. Food is average if that. However my main gripe is the service. Service is terrible. Slow and inefficient. Waiters are borderline rude. For example recently, we had to walk out since the waiting times were too long and after all the waiting, we were not served by the order we came in.

One of the best South Indian restaurants in Northampton. There are lots of options to try and presented in a great way. The price is very reasonable compared to Oxford and London side restaurants. Have visited again and the food was consistently delicious. Definitely recommend to anyone craving some Kerala delicacies.

The food is authentic Kerala food even though the selection is limited. We visit whenever we miss authentic Kerala Malayali Thattu kada/Kallu shaapu food. The seating and ambience could be better and improved especially near the entrance. Customers could be better accommodated if seating is kept more aligned throughout the place.

Food was good before . Now it’s worst. Had a butter chicken masala & chicken biriyaani. Making a butter chicken with same sort of fried chicken from biriyani !!! does it make sense. That too hard like a stone.

Had food from here a couple of times, the food is very nice, however the service is incredibly poor and we shan't be eating from here again. We attempted to eat in one time and the service was incredibly slow but we gave it the benefit of the doubt because I had takeaway another time which was very tasty. In the end we decided to order to take away since things were taking so long and there was a woman crying in the dining area, we went somewhere else, ordered online and then returned. The gentleman inside then seemed unhappy because the items on the website were a different price and then claimed that the order had "just not come through" and we would need to order again at a higher cost - this appeared to be an outright lie about the order not coming through. Given the apparent lack of ethics and values I now no longer trust that the food is safe to eat. We shall not return.

Lovely homely atmosphere although it is restaurant dining experience. Amal is lovely and so soft spoken. The food is amazing👌🏽Beef coconut 🥥 chilli fry and Special Kerala hut chicken fry 🍗 was spicy 🔥+ delicious which we had with parotta 10/10💫 Mutton Dum Biriyani came with the rice on top and the Dum within, which needs mixing it all together. Mild and full of flavours 👌🏽 Pal paratha is next level - the paranthas are soaked in coconut 🥥 milk with beef gravy curry 🍛 in an earthen 🍲 pot. I asked for names of the chefs, Bibin and Jinto, especially to thank them for such an amazing treat for my family and myself. Worth travelling to Northampton just for the food! 🫂

I had the worst experience ever from the restaurant. The food that served was not tasty enough as expected.Moreover the staff were so arrogant and rude. They were less cared of us. When we informed them about the food that was not good enough they were less cared as if we are not talking the them. Felt really pathetic since we entered till we come out of the restaurant.

As someone from Kerala, I had one of the best Kerala food experience in UK from Kerala Hut Northhampton. I do need to mention about Muhsin, who was absolutely amazing, not only he was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu he went above and beyond in helping me out with a personal request which he didn't have to. As an Hotelier, I strongly believe people makes the biggest difference and Muhsin is definitely one of the people who makes that difference. Thank you so much for the amazing food and impeccable service.
