Kensington Palace Cafe in Kensington and Chelsea

Enjoyed the tea, coffee and cakes. However, the visit was somewhat marred by the brusqueness of the server at the counter.

The food tasted fine and fresh. But the paninis were pretty sad as far as fillings go.

To go in for a coffee you have to pass a security check. Leave with a ticket and enter through another place.

Beautiful view, but advisable to eat inside. Be careful of pigeons

The inside of the cafe is very ordinary, but the outside is beautiful. I did not order anything, but I took a souvenir cup from them. A very wonderful cafe in every sense of the word. It is comfortable, has comfortable seating and a wonderful view. The staff are wonderful and very friendly. I was honored to visit them and have evening coffee with wonderful dessert.

Most disappointing! Dropped in after a palace tour for a Devonshire tea - the scone (biscuit for Americans) was stale and the Clotted Cream was rancid ! Spoiled my whole week in London as everything I ate after that made me feel like throwing up !!! Give this one a big miss !

“Let them eat cr*p” Some of the worst food I’ve had eating out anywhere in a long time. The choices were very limited and prices were expectedly high, but the quality of the panini was truly shocking. I should complain about the pathetic amount of filling in the overpriced Panini, however the smear of something vaguely resembling tuna Mayo and a bit of melted cheese was so awful that having more filling would likely have just made the meal even worse. If for instance you compare the offering to what you might find in a National Trust property cafe, in looses out in all regards. They should have a long hard look at themselves but I imagine the profit margins on such tripe are so good, and the regular supply of tourist customers so reliable that they have no reason to. But do yourself a favour and head to the park cafe.

This cafe in Kensington Palace can be visited without visiting the palace, but you have to go through the same entrance and controls. You are served at the counter and then simply look for a seat. The Victoria Sponge Cake was good but nothing special. High prices like almost everywhere in London. The atmosphere was almost cafeteria-like.

Impressed with the quality here. Flavors and textures were spot on. Great tea selection and excellent service. A culinary win.

I’ll definitely return for afternoon tea at some point, and for the pineapple mousse cake of the size of a pineapple circular slice, which was delicious obviously! (I didn’t take a picture, so I’ve attempted a GenAI model of it, but the real was better!) The place is delightful, especially in the outdoors gardens, and a perfect location for summer chats and tea, cold press juices, ice creams (none of which I’ve tried, but I will next time!), lemon and Victoria sponge cakes. The store is heart-lifting too! With cute books, Palace souvenirs, lovely garments.

£6 soup really made my day. It came with bread and butter and it was delicious.

Not a great experience, they seem to use skimmed milk in the hot drinks, which feels like water rather than milk. The cakes by the drinks are left completely exposed to everyone seated and walking passed it. I was very surprised to see they haven't covered any of them. The hot chocolate was not served hot, apparently their machine is unable to do this, so they had to microwave it. The cakes behind the counter were very overpriced.

Cafe was nice, the food was tasty and the service was nice and helpful. However, the cafe did feel a bit basic and it was a bit busy, not just because of the cafe but because it is situated right next to the gift shop displays, and it seemed the visitors were just here for the gift shop and not the cafe, even though the crowd would die down after we settled down and started eating lunch.

Lovely cafe with a beautiful outdoor area. Overlooking the gardens, it is a lovely spot to soak up the sunshine and people watch.

First of all, the atmosphere is great! It has a luxurious atmosphere, a great view, and the plating is very pretty. But the taste was so bad. The sandwich was dry and the hot chocolate was too sweet and tasted instant, so I couldn't finish it all. It's not worth paying this price for, but the view is pretty and it's great for taking pictures! Even if you have to give up the taste, if you like pretty things, it's worth a visit.,,

A great place for a bite to eat at the west end of Hyde park. You don't need tickets and you don't need to look around the palace to use the cafe.

I didn’t expect that the food would be this good. It’s convenient to grab a bite to eat after visiting Kensington Palace.

An excellent place to have tea and a slice of cake while looking at the park. The prices are normal and the weather is quite calm. We ordered tea for two and a slice of chocolate cake. All very well

Nice place to have a cafe, snake and desert.

Even though it's a small cafe we found it very organised considering the huge number of visitors. The panini with tuna it was very tasty and served with salad and crisps for 8.50 considering that only the crisps are 1.50 at Tesco's and the Red velvet cake was delicious for 5.95 cheaper than High street Kensington were I bought one take away for 6.50. The staff very young but they were trying their best to be attentive with all customers being very patient with all the demands.

The sandwich cabinet was between the service counter and the toilets so there was always a knot of people restricting your choice. The staff on the counter were bored and dismissive. We ordered 2 croque monsieur and were told to ‘look out’ for them. Just as well we did - they were just slammed down on the counter and left there. If we’d been in the garden we’d have had cold food and at £9 a shot that’s appalling! Wouldn’t eat there again!

My family and I had a lovely experience at the cafe. The cakes and cookie were absolutely delicious. My son is very particular about cookies, for him “It was the best cookie ever”. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. We are looking forward to visiting again.

I went to palace exhibition and after finishing my exhibition i went to cafe and i took ice cofee and victoria sponge it was the best cake i ever had i will recommend it

Spent £11 on two watered down iced coffees and a dry cookie. Never had a worse cafe experience to be honest. Coffee was basically water. Prêt and Costa are worlds above this cafe, which is saying something. Even if you’re hungry or thirsty, it’s worth the walk yo go somewhere else.

Vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis echt ein Lichtblick in dieser an sich eher etwas teureren Ecke von London. Der Chia-Pudding sah zwar nicht mehr so lecker aus, schmeckte aber sehr gut. Der Scone und der Schokoladenkuchen waren auch sehr gut.

I have enjoyed food from Kensington Palace Café on several occasions, but my recent takeaway experience truly stood out. The seasonal watermelon and goats cheese salad was a revelation. This combination was surprisingly refreshing and delicious, especially on a hot weekend! What consistently impresses me is the unfailingly polite and attentive staff. Their dedication to ensuring guests are satisfied resonates with me, making each visit a genuinely pleasing experience.

The granola yoghurt was £6.50 for smallish container and absolutely awful. Sickly and overly sweet with cheap and nasty tasting syrup. For that price I would expect fresh fruit. Atrocious.

Not great service. Compared to The Ivy it was not great. Afternoon tea food was not fresh and cakes were dry. Jasmine tea was good. Portions are small and service is not polished. Would not recommend to spend that much money. Last but not least the clotted cream was melted.

Had lunch with a friend and their kids at the The Kensington Palace Pavilion. The service was very much below average, food was so so, and most of the plates came cold. We had to ask for sparkling water 6x times, and waited more than 30 min for the bottle to come. By the time the bottle came, we had already finished our meal. Additionally, we asked the water at the beginning (before the dishes arrived to our table) to take a picture for us, and we keep on asking, it never happened. (see picture of VITTORIO the water that served our table, very rude/un-polite, bad manners and incredibly bad customer service) Food is also over price for the quality (cold and tasteless). Not coming back for sure. I would give it a 0 star if I can. See pictures of the waiter, and also my bill.

Dentro del palacio de Kensington, hay que pasar el arco de seguridad del palacio para poder entrar, aunque no hay que adquirir la entrada a este. Surtido de dulces ingleses y salados para el desayuno, no tienen leche sin lactosa, pero como en casi todas las cafeterías londinesas, tienen otras variables como leche de almendras y derivados. El precio es un poco elevado pero está enclavado en un lugar único.

Just exquisite. We had toured the palace on a different day but the guy at the door was wonderful about letting us run in and get dessert and to the bathroom. This amazing dessert was an "Eaton Mess Berry Cake." Another woman and I laughing about "most elegant Eaton Mess ever." And the taste was MAGNIFICENT. Loved the Rose Lemonade. And on a sunny but cool breezy day what better place to be than the gardens just outside Kensington Palace having delicious snack.

The garden is very nice. But the employee just don't care...

We got tea here, as well as rosé, lunch sandwiches and a slice of cake. It was rather expensive and the sandwiches were honestly a little plain, but the cake slices were divine and the tea was served in bone china which feels nice and fancy. The cafe itself is very comfortable, it's basically in the gift shop, and it gets plenty of natural light.

I love this cafe, both the inside and the outside area, the coffee and deserts are descent, and nice souvenir shop, definitely recommend.

Stopped for afternoon tea after walking in the park all morning. Did not require a ticket to go the the gift shop/ cafe which was nice. Boyfriend and I got scones with cream and jam and a pot of Earl grey and sat on the outdoor patio. Nice little impromptu afternoon tea.

Smallish efficient cafeteria like place to get a quick snack and rest while visiting the palace. All tables were full and people were waiting for others to leave. Snacks were fine, but no ice for the soda, a definite minus for me.

Once past the bag search at the main entrance, enjoy the fare available in the café and connect gift shop. All cakes are made on site and taste delicious. Beware sitting outside as the seagulls like them too.
