I tried to get away from the swarming kids downstairs, only to find out that the kitchen closes at 15:00! Has anyone ever thought of allowing adults and grown-ups to have some "me time"? After all, the majority of the members and patrons are adults. I will not be renewing my membership for such useless services.

Had a very nice experience in the Anning Rooms. We ordered afternoon tea for two people. The room is beautifully decorated and offers the necessary rest after a day in London. Staff is very friendly and they were also able to take my friend's allergens into account perfectly. The dishes were refined, with sufficient vegetarian and vegan options. Highly recommended.

Fantastic members room and learning space. Food is really good and keenly priced and friendly staff, too

One would expect a beautiful view over the museum or even the street but no, it's a small area with windows so high you definitely cannot look out unless you come with your own ladder ... As for the items served basic, not worth your 40 pounds and no ice cubes at Anning Rooms. It was simply disappointing. Wouldn't recommend it. But friendly staff and that's why they got the 5 stars.

We had an afternoon tea here today. It costs £35 per person so even though not hugely expensive for London it was not cheap either. We did enjoy the vegetarian sandwiches and the cakes offered. However there was a major letdown that was the atmosphere. the room itself is nothing special, with simple plastic and metal chairs and tables. And what's worse full of noisy kids with their tablets with the sound on and all the mess they make eating. So if you wanted a pleasant and a bit more upmarket experience for your afternoon tea look elsewhere. If you just want to hang out with your kids at the museum and then get all the cakes then sure, go for it.

Really well done. There are even things worth seeing for children.

We love being members of NHM and the member's room is wonderful. The restaurant looks lovely, the food is decent, albeit quite expensive for what you get but the kid's meal is good value. Service is always slow but polite.

You must be a member of the museum (or a member's guest). The views out the windows are amazing. It's great to get away from the crowds for a meal or just a coffee, then read the books in the library upstairs.

Wanted to have lunch today but was told that it is a members-only venue. Had to look for decent dining outside.

Very convenient to take a break while visiting the Natural History museum but you need an invite from a member. The menu was fairly restricted but good value as was the kids menu.

Staffs are too slow. Not coming to see if anything is needed. After waiting quite a lot and double checking if food is coming, didn’t come back to inform that they checked and things are progressing.

A place for quiet contemplation or to chat about the latest exhibition. Food quality is very good, the view is stunning! Tip: go upstairs for relaxing seats and rooftop view.

Pleasant rooms to relax. Service is terribly slow, had to wait 10 mins to order a coffee. Was then told to wait by the till so we could take it to our table upstairs and then the coffee took another 15 mins to arrive. Most tables were full of uncleared cups/plates.

The worse thing after a long pondering walk in the museum is to have only one item available out of all main dishes options on the menu. At the edge of extinction in real membership class experience. However very nice environment and friendly staffs, just like many places on earth. Worth to visit without a hungry need.

This is a great little cafe/restaurant for members of the Natural History Museum. Nice atmosphere, and extremely friendly professional staff. The menu is relatively small but all very tempting. selection of hot and cold and alcoholic drinks. The table service is good and the food is well presented and beautifully cooked. Almost worth the annual membership just for this!!!

we went as a group of 6 (4 adults and 2 children) and had most of the menu. pretty much all of it is incredibly unhealthy, especially for children. the squids were inedible due to the amount of salt in it; the soup was served with a slice of ciabatta bread drenched in oil (what was the side of butter for then?); the fish cakes were deep fried and again drenched in oil; similar story for the ciabatta with mushrooms. everything was served simmering in oil and salt. considering that 90% of the customers were families with kids, this is appalling

Lovely quiet restaurant tucked above the museum, a nice perk of membership. Service and menu has always been really nice. On our latest visit, post-reopening, it was busier and the food wasn't quite as nice as we remembered, but hoping it gets back to its old self.

Nice food and service. We order the parmesan pancakes with asparagus usually so glad it's still on the menu. It's very clean, distanced and well organized. Worth joining NHM as a member for this if you visit often enough.

I’ve been really looking forward to checking this restaurant out since it opened & couldn’t fault a thing ! Service & food were absolutely first class - I had the Veal tartare which was simply outstanding as was the baby chicken & fries - Can’t wait to go back
