Some lovely whiskys and great fun chatting with the regulars. The owner Jim also doubles as Greenock’s very own Ringo Starr. Whole heartedly recommend.

We visit the pub on our boys away days. We are never disappointed. There are a few regular characters propping up the bar who are happy to have a bit of banter with us. Jim the landlord is a true Gentleman. Great selection of drinks. Whisky and wine selection is particularly good. We will back to see you in the next few weeks.

Toilet of a place, Cherynobyl esk, just make sure you're up to date with your polio and typhoid jags. On top of that all beer is tinned 'not for reselling' at 3 quid a pop...better off at home..

The Kempock once had the best juke box imaginable and a cool atmosphere. Nowadays it's a cold hovel of a place often with no draft lager and cans of tennents at over £3 a pop. Seems to make the prices up as he goes along as never the same price for the same round of drinks. Cross the street and go into Cleats instead.

Was in Gourock for a night out and popped into The Kempock...WOW! What a great wee pub - as if it had come straight from another era, possibly the 60s, but that was the charm of the place - much music memorabilia adorning the walls and jukebox FULL of every style of music you could ask for to keep the night going with a swing - and indeed the locals of all ages did just that and were up dancing all night! A really friendly atmosphere between customers who had never met before, and the bar staff made us feel really welcome too, especially Irene and Jim. If I lived in Gourock, this would definitely be my local!

! ! No puedo esperar a volver.

Felicitaciones.

I've seen some mixed reviews on here regarding the Kempock & to be honest this is one of the best pubs in Gourock & a great stop during a pub crawl...Yes it's maybe not got the best décor & could probably do with a lick of paint but let's be honest, this is what makes this place what it is....It has a great selection of beers & spirits and has one of the best selection of music on any jukebox in the area - Go on, give it a try...

The owner is a little fussy about how his one room pub seating needs to stay, I got a rude comment when 30 of us from work piled into his place and wanted to rearrange things so that we could all sit together. The place hardly makes the owner any money, he hasn't got draught etc and its very minimalistic - I would have thought he'd appreciate the extra business, clearly not and not a place I will be spending any cash in again.

If your after a fantastic atmosphere busy lively crowd at the weekend it's the place to go. Take plenty of pound coins to feed the juke box which has a fantastic selection of music from all eras which helped win a prestigious award from Grouse whisky . Impromptu singing and if your really lucky a wee bit of dancing are all possible. A good local pub .

The Kempock is a great wee bar, a hub of the local community, eccentrically run by Jim Robertson. Almost hidden away at the end of the bar is an eclectic range of whiskies. None of which you would expect to find in a pub like this, some of which are greatly under-priced.
