Kelly's Kitchen in Christchurch

My husband and I went into Kelly's for the first time as we wanted lunch. We had jacket potato which was really good. I wanted to say how nice the staff were. They are a young team and they were so polite and friendly. They all looked happy in their jobs. Thank you for making our day

Disappointing! Have been previously & had a reasonable meal but not on this occasion. Waited a very long time for food that was inedible when it arrived. Egg was overcooked, rubbery, greasy and grey a refund was given as could not wait further for more food. Unfortunately will not bother visiting again.

A lovely find in Christchurch, which is not short of places to eat. Extensive menu, huge jacket potato, clean and lovely friendly staff. I shall be returning here the next time I visit the area.

2yrs since we last took breakfast here. The main change after sitting for a while was it is no longer table service. Printed in VERY small letters on menu cover. Ordering at the desk came my next surprise! £1.50 for an additional egg. ( 1 not half a dozen). Service was prompt and efficient. Food was as good as ever.The place looked very clean and wholesome ... But.... my wife was told by another customer the toilets are a bit of a mess, which sadly my wife confirmed. In all a bit disappointing compared to our previous experience of Kelly's Kitchen. Still reasonable value for money, providing you don't want an extra egg! Still half price, if before 11.00AM. Which unfortunately it wasn't.

Very clean, bright restaurant with wheelchair access on the side. Outdoor seating at back. Very friendly and efficient staff. Quick service. We just popped in for a quick lunch. Toasted sandwiches and coffee. Both excellent. Even had a disabled toilet! Would definitely go again.

Absolutely fantastic place ... half price breakfast til 11am & it was so delicious. Had to wait about 30 mins but my gosh it was worth it ... Best full English breakfast I've had in a very long time.. the staff are all so friendly & it was so busy but they kept on smiling . Totally recommend 100%

It was a pretty average breakfast - food ok but nothing special, limited options for breakfast (no bubble, no black pudding, no poached eggs and swaps not an option when busy), service was fine (nice waitresses) but on the slow side, nice atmosphere and reasonably priced. We were quite hungry, so it hit the spot. It was busy and seemed popular.

Nice place, extremely busy so we waited for over half an hour after placing our orders. The main thing I observed is the kitchen staff which are in full view of the customers. A number of times they were seen to wipe their faces with their bare hands and then continue preparing food such as spreading butter on bread cutting toast, or tearing uo salad leaves Other staff pushed their hair back from their faces or wiped their mouths briefly. We found this quite off putting. Perhaps a course in food hygiene and preparation may be needed here.

This isn’t my first visit and it never disappoints. Apart from the delicious food the staff are super friendly and helpful. The premises is clean and well set out with a choice of inside and outside tables. If you’re in Christchurch you have to give it a try!!

Been here twice this week for breakfast, whilst visiting Christchurch. Enjoyed a really nice breakfast on each occasion. Freshly cooked with lovely ingredients, and excellent value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend!

Great food! Wonderful atmosphere! Me and my boyfriend went here after being disappointed with another local coffee shop but Kelly's was quick to improve our mood. We ordered our food and drinks easily and the table service was so quick. Staff were lovely and it was so nice to see a cafe with a disabled / gender-neutral toilet! Will definitely be going there again! Btw the Ultimate Hot Chocolate was amazing and apparently the 'brie to bread ratio' on the Bacon and Brie Baguette was 10/10 (according to my boyfriend)

Stopped for a coffee and bacon roll. I'd almost finished my drink by the time my food arrived - over 15 mins wait for drink and over half hour wait for one bacon roll. The food was good just a shame there was such a long wait 😞

We had lunch here at the weekend. It has a lovely garden area to the back which was a nice surprise after walking in. Food was good, clotted cream tea for my husband and a chicken mayonnaise and bacon toasted panini for me. I also ordered a large pepsi. There were a couple of small niggles which wouldn't stop us returning with the ordering process and when the food came we were only given one serviette between the two of us, which is a bit odd. Other than that we enjoyed our alfresco lunch and will return if in the area again.

Visited last weekend as ravenous. Ordered a breakfast & sat outside. Took quite a while to get served & it was disappointing. The egg was horrible & mushrooms were out of a tin. Rest was Ok sausage was nice.

Totally awesome place to eat, all freshly cooked, a brilliant price as well. Staff are friendly and helpful, nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.

Fantastically run restaurant by polite hardworking staff. It can get particularly busy, which proves how many people love it there, and the great level of service maintains! High standard of cleanliness, great food and drink. Will be revisiting soon.

I went to Kelly's last week and ordered breakfast of egg, bacon, sausage and fried bread. I asked if I could have a smaller portion of baked beans (at the same price as a full portion) but the waitress said that was not possible and I'd have to take it as it comes. Anyway, it was an OK breakfast, although there were indeed too many baked beans for my liking. Sadly there was a major problem with the "sausage" as it was not like the good old nicely browned British banger that I so much love. The specimen on the plate looked pallid and was more the shape and size of a small hot dog sausage. I took a small bite of it and wondered if it was a vegetarian or chicken option. It certainly didn't taste like the fat juicy pork variety that I'm used to. I left the "sausage" to one side and went to pay the bill at the counter.I mentioned to the cashier that I thought the sausage was weird and that I didn't like it. However, she didn't seem to want to engage in conversation with me so I just paid the bill and departed. Surely it's not too much to expect that a traditional English cafe would serve a regular nice fat brown British pork sausage?

We come to Kelly's every year whilst on holiday from Shropshire, and every year we are greated by friendly staff, and as always the food is excellent.

We called in for large, cooked breakfasts today. One veggie, one "Big". Oh my, I was full after enjoying my Big Breakfast!And as we ate before 11.00, the food part of our breakfast was half price!Everything was well-cooked, hot, tasty and looked good too. So big thanks to the lovely staff and kitchen team.Excellent covid measures, very clean, parking 2mins away (local inexpensive car park.)Even with no discount, meals here are jolly good value.Love if here!

I have been in here for breakfast several times when I've been in the area and the place is spotless and the service is 110%.The current offer of breakfast before 11am and a cup of tea has a 50% discount is fantastic value for money and my English breakfast was well presented, well made and it was delicious - thank you.

Called in for a light lunch and experienced good service, nice food and a very clean environment. Highly recommended.

This restaurant couldn’t be more accommodating, as staff were smiley and happy to help. Food was also brilliant, I had a bacon and mushroom omelette with chips which was absolutely delicious (and huge!) My husband had the traditional big breakfast which he polished off no trouble! Will definitely be returning. Thank you Kelly’s!

Food all seems to be shop bought and out of a can or packet. Service is moderate however has much room for improvement. Wouldn’t recommend.

When visiting Kelly's Kitchen it was a Saturday lunch time. My husband and I ordered our food and the food was great but 2 members of staff decided to swap PPE not therefore using other staffs masks and visors, I found this rather upsetting due to the pandemic at the current time. There were also children and other people going behind the drinks station without masks on and just feel that they need to read the rules and I don't think I'll be going back until they get this sorted

Staying in a nearby hotel for a few nights been here befire and it was amazing so came here most days for breakfast and everyday the food was great and the service was upmost lovely! Shall be back

Went in for brunch this morning. Very friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed a tasty, well presented English Breakfast. Tables and surrounding areas were very clean.Worth noting that they are currently offering half price breakfast until 11am.I'm going to remember that for next time as we arrived at 11.15am lol.

Firstly we were surprised that Kelly’s are not taking part in the eat out to help out scheme! Considering it’s a local haunt for many local residents. It wasn’t that busy when we went in for lunch, my husband had a burger which he says was tasteless very bland! I had egg n chips but all I could taste was cillit bang yes the cleaning product that the girl behind the counter was using to clean the counter down right where were sitting.. I get the whole hygiene thing but not while you have customers sat right there trying to eat!! Big disappointment to be honest. Chips were dry not a great lunch!

Lovely little location with everything you could want from a little local restaurant. Amazing service, would highly recommend the breakfast.

Visited for lunch for jacket potatoes & ham,egg n chips both meals were of good quality & tasted good. Reasonable portion sizes too. Polite,friendly staff.

Kely's Kitchen is a modern basic cafe/restaurant which is more of a diner than a stylish restaurant. Having said that, there is a large menu of decent food that is reasonaby priced and service is quite quick and friendly. Although there are steps in the middle of the restaurant, you can access the rear of the restaurant step free through a side door.

Very friendly staff made us feel very welcome. A nice selection of freshly made sandwiches including a very nice club sandwich . Good size portions for the kids meals. Good coffee . Cheap prices.

Went back to this nice restaurant for an omelette and was very pleasantly impressed. Substantial dish with generous filling and again, a lovely side-salad. Nice ambience, no horrible "musack" and prompt, discreet service. My meal put me in a good mood for the remainder of the day. Tables are kept very clean - wiped down after every customer.Shall definitely return when next in Christchurch.

went here for breakfast on a cold morning. i ordered the full english, it arrived well presented, hot, and was a good portion size. waitress table service was polite and efficient, and you pay at the counter after you have eaten. they have a special offer for two people, but sadly i was alone that day! Right in the middle of Christchurch high street, easy to access.

Enjoyed a beef lasagne here, with generous side-salad and tasty garlic bread. All the food was freshly prepared. Certainly felt I had had value for money, and the staff were efficient and friendly.Shall certainly return to sample their omelettes.

Just a lovely little family run cafe servicing good food at a great price. Never had a bad meal and the coffee is brilliant too.

Had a decent plateful here. Came in for breakfast. Though it was busy--a good sign--there was a surprising amount of space available, and they had plenty of staff on, including waiter service. I had the standard veggie breakfast plus an extra egg, with a cappuccino and then a tea. Price £8.50, which is good value. Eggs came with 2 nice hash browns; 2 halves of perfectly judged tomato (neither too hard nor too mushy); good amounts of mushrooms and beans; and fried bread (a choice of that or toast--nice to see fried bread offered in this healthorious day and age). The cappuccino was good, the tea a bit tasteless. Staff were fast and efficient; and a deft waitress expertly stuffed a tissue under one of my table legs to stop it rocking like a yacht in the harbour every time I speared a bean.

Whilst visiting the area today (15th September 2019) my partner and I decided to stop for breakfast at Kelly’s Kitchen as there seemed to be plenty of local people inside, which is always a good sign! We chose an English breakfast each which was delivered promptly and was very tasty. Extremely good value for money as we were there before 11am, it was half price. Would definitely recommend.

We met up with a friend here for lunch. I had a nice side salad and chips. My sister said her Brevill toasted cheese sandwich was delicious! The staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing was that we sat at the back to be warm, thinking that the exit door there wouldn't be used much except for disabled access but the door was constantly opening and closing and the constant draughts did affect my experience slightly. That's nothing to do with the place though - there weren't other tables available which is testament to the popularity of the place I guess!

Our meals were simple lunches ( sandwiches and baked potato/prawns ) but the coffee ( latte ) was amazing. The staff were friendly, attentive and ensured the tables were clean.

I don't know about you, but I recon a toasted sandwich is a sandwich made of bread which is then toasted, either in a sandwich toaster, or perhaps a hot frying pan. At Kelly's Kitchen, it is two slices of dry unbutterred toast with the filling inserted. In a sandwich, bacon should be cut into small pieces so that if your first bite doesn't sever the bacon you don't pull out all the bacon in one go. Also the bacon was very thick and undercooked.

For 2 tea cakes it was £4.20 , didn’t fill me up . Everything else comes on with a tiny salad . Empty flat atmosphere, subway next door would be a better bet

Nice food and good service. Has a patio area at the rear which is dog friendly. We had jacket potatoes which were very good. Veggie breakfast was also good. Children enjoyed their sandwiches.

We visited Kelly's multiple times. Great breakfast specials and good food all round. The chocolate milkshake got great praises from the kids.

Popped in here for a breakfast with my family and it certainly didn't disappoint. The service was great, it's reasonably priced and delicious! Will definitely be back here again and my parents visit every week for a breakfast

Visited Kelly' s Kitchen on Fathers Day , numerous tables free so chose one , Menu was covered in most of the sauces available , so not great start . Picked food and waitress came to take order , Unfortunately no alcohol available on date we went , even though on menu , apparently as not got a licence at the moment due to change in ownership . So picked drinks again ( and no not getting drunk , but just wanted a beer on Fathers Day ) . Anyway my son choose his child's meal and we specifically said "no beans" . Meals arrive and surprise surprise beans came with my sons meal . Waitress apologised and returned with correct order . Food was ok , no problems . but what was concerning was the bottled fruit juice for my son was out of date by month . Overall not a great experience ,

We always come here on Sunday mornings when visiting my parents in Highcliffe. It's a must do for us. Great food, clean cafe, excellent staff. can't fault it. We will be visiting again this weekend.

First Visit to Kellys Kitchen and what a first impression. the place is immaculately clean, the staff are friendly and attentive, the quality of the food it high and the prices are very reasonable for anywhere let alone Christchurch. it was little touches that caught my eye like one of the waitresses checking the ketchup bottle cap to make sure it was clean to give to us. food was prompt and tasted great, milkshakes are to die for and the whole experience means i would come back again. great job all round. polite and friendly.

On Saturday june 1st we had a day out in christchurch ,lots going on with the boat races etc.What made the day was a cream tea at Kelly"s Kitchen,what a well run and clean and a cream tea and service on parr with the Ritz,well done.

Lovely atmosphere, friendly service and cheap. The best in the area. Nice and clean inside, has a lovely rear garden area and the coffee is brilliant.

This cafe has dramatically lost its appeal.

After looking around the 20th Christchurch Food Festival and local establishments, we came across Kelly’s Kitchen. Located in the middle of the high street, we ordered breakfast. We were promptly greeted by friendly waitresses whom all looked very happy in their jobs.

have visited several times before for lunch and coffee - always nice food and good service - saw the sign about half-price breakfast before 11am - so next day came to give it a try - lovely cooked breakfast arrived quick and hot - bargain at £11 for 2 breakfasts with pot of tea - only thing missing is the option of a veggie sausage on the veggie breakfast

My husband and I visited Kelly's Kitchen and was served a delicious breakfast. Everything was very clean and the service was excellent and very good value for money. I was pleasantly surprised they had gluten free bread. We enjoyed eating in their garden area on a lovely sunny day. Highly recommended and we will definitely visit next time we visit Christchurch.

We went here after the Easter service and had a delicious veggie breakfast that was half price before 11am! We actually arrived a bit late and they still charged us half price. So breakfast for 2 with drinks was £11 and it was superb. Service very friendly and efficient so couldn’t fault it.

We had a lovely breakfast here. So clean and such friendly staff. There were 4 adults in our party. Full breakfast was great and just the right amount and plenty of tea. Highly recommended.

We visited here for lunch with 2 grandchildren, plenty of staff, good family food with good choices. Will go again, courteous service and brilliant coffee, try th omelettes.

New to the area and was looking for a good place to go for breakfast, someone suggested kellys kitchen in christchurch, plased to say its was very good, I had the big breakfast and a tea certainly didnt disappoint food was hot and came to the table quickly, staff were friendly even tho they were busy.

Went in by bus to Christchurch as usual to listen to the Thursday lunchtime Organ Recital in The Priory. I equally usually have a snack lunch in The Priory café but had a bit if time to spare and simply noticed Kelly's Kitchen. I've walked past it dozens of times as I have all the many other cafes located in the High Street. Christchurch is a tourist destination so Visitors are spoilt for choice. However on impulse went in and had a normal British Breakfast and a pot of tea. It was excellent. I declined the baked beans and they immediately offered Hash Browns as a substitute. The pot of tea was just that with top up hot water and more than enough milk for two cups. Not always the case elsewhere. Two slices of fried bread or toast also included. Total cost £7.90 although I think there is a cheaper version available earlier in the morning. I had my breakfast after 1200hrs. Table service was available so I know for next time. All the staff I encountered were lovely. As they say what's not to like. Will probably make this my Thursday lunchtime destination in future.

Stopped here for a coffee stop mid morning .Drinks were hot and served quickly but we're not very large.Food looked good but not needed at the time.

My wife and I stopped here for breakfast on Saterday morning the place was very busy while most places in town seemed empty looking around we found out why certain breakfasts half price until 11 o,clock the breakfast both ordainary and vegetarian were both very good and exceptional value for money especially in Christchurch.

Had breakfast....everything okay....sausages very cheap and cheerful....but overall reasonable value....fried bread well cooked....eggs and bacon fine. If you look at the photos provided by management portion of beans about third or quarter of that shown. Staff were fine, customer service fine. Food 3/5 I'd say.....tea was fine....hot water would have been good to get an extra cup out of the pot.

Visited with friends for breakfast. They currently have a half price offer for breakfasts ordered before 11.00 am. Lovely breakfast with a pot of tea for four of us came to £20 so very reasonable. Polite and helpful staff. Will definitely return again

We went years ago & stopped in for an iced coffee and are still talking about it years later!!! OMG soooooo perfect!!!! Lovely place &have; never enjoyed an iced coffee more then Kelly's! If it's still on the menu, ORDER IT!!!!! :P

If you visit Christchurch please go and visit Kelly's Kitchen. This was my first visit here and will definitely visit again. Kelly's Kitchen is a bright, spacious, clean and cheerful place to visit. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is awesome. There is a varied menu and it caters for everyone, and the food is fresh and well presented on the plate. The Triple Egg Omlette is awesome.

This place is out dated and is in a desperate need for someone to care about it.

It does what it says, is clean food well cooked staff friendly and value for money. I and friends all had English breakfast.

The Wife and I been going here for years even when they were the other end of the high street, always nice and clean and great food.

Good freshly cooked food wide variety on the menu had to wait a while which you would expect and great waitress service very friendly staff clean loos always a bonus when you have small kiddies with you

Clean and tidy, though busy, cafe. Picture shows typical cooked breakfast, which for £2.90, was a bargain. Meels had sausage and egg sandwich that she quickly devoured. Tasty latte and a milkshake all for £18 for three of us. Went back for a second breakfast later in the week. Same good service and food received.

We ordered 2 baguettes. Service was fast, girls working there were on their game, food was lovely as was the glass of coke on a day when it was 30 degrees. Would recommend.

Don’t be fooled by the spin ‘half price breakfast’ at £4.80 after the deduction it’s still £2 too much. Really poor quality ingredients used, and the drinks are over priced. £2.70 for an orange juice which is just poured from a carton! On my last visit (been twice In 3 months) the waitress only seemed interested in some drama with a girl that once punched her at school rather than doing her job

All I wanted was a coffee. Ordered very quickly to a very surly and unfriendly waitress, then waited 12 minutes for it. She almost threw it ion the table without a word, a smile or anything else. The coffee ( a latte) was in a mug and almost two thirds of it were froth. I paid £2.40 for this! Avoid at all costs, an absolute disgrace.

After looking for somewhere nice to have Breakfast in Christchurch, Kelly's Kitchen looked like one of the nicest place's to look at, but Looks CAN be deceiving !

Popped in for a well deserved breakfast after an early morning shift. Arrived 10am..10.03..order taken .10.05..cold drinks arrived..,10.07..hot drinks arrived ..10.10..full English breakfast arrived.. Food was excellent,warm and tasty..service fast and friendly.. Very good We live local but would recommend to tourists and locals alike..

Had breakfast here twice over two days and I'd go back again! The waitresses were lovely and had a little chat with us even though they were busy but you could see that everyone was comfortable and happy and the food well... Amazing in every way and definitely cannot complain about the price
