Started with Nori crisps, wasabi hummus and homemade pickles followed by a delicious burger. Soft shell crab was my fave.

The venue for my latest burger excursion was an interesting one, the former home of the Queen Victoria's Rifles, The King’s Royal Rifle Corps, in the heart of Mayfair. The premise for my visit, my love of burgers and Japanese food. The menu was small and well thought out. Sometimes fusion efforts can be gimmicky but not here, with more than just a nod to the Land of the Rising Sun running through the menu. I went for the softshell crab burger, nori fries and avocado karaage, complemented brilliantly by a small but tasty truffle mushroom mayo, all was washed down with a pint of the house lager. We all know that the bun is a crucial element of a good burger and I was most impressed with this offering. The Hokkaido milk bun, which I had never tried before, was incredibly rich, soft and spongey. I was informed that this was thanks to a technique involving a roux "starter," known as tangzhong. The roux is mixed into the final dough, producing wonderfully tender bread each and every time. I found it held its shape more than brioche, whilst still delivering that rich creamy taste that its butter-based friend is so famous for. The burger was garnished well, and both a pleasure and comfortingly messy to eat. Another highlight was the avocado karaage, why hadn't I thought of deep-frying avo and applying teriyaki glaze and chilli before! If you are looking for a sensibly priced and genuinely interesting meal, I would highly recommend it. It is fantastic to see a fun and laid back spot run by enthusiastic young entrepreneurs in Mayfair that won't leave your wallet asking for a bullet in the head. I wish it every success.

Really cool place with an amazing atmosphere! The burgers were incredible, and they have great vegan and veggie options too. Would highly recommend - and a good place to go if you're worried about eating out and social distancing, as the tables aren't too close together!

Had a great time here at the launch night last week. The chef has really put thought and care into designing a menu that vegan/vegetarians would be happy with. The Vegan Octopus is incredible, and the Karaage Avocado I had as a side was to die for, flavoursome and crispy! Would definitely reccomend this place
