What a treat. Amazing menu (we are all vegetarians) and exceptionally helpful staff. The food was delicious. The chilli paneer was especially gorgeous. Very impressed all round!!! Awesome. Highly recommend.

The restaurant was very busy & packed out with a big birthday party event when we arrived but we were given a small room by the river & attended to straightaway. One of our party had special dietary needs which were quite difficult for this kind of food but were accommodated with no fuss. We all really enjoyed our menu choices: I had salmon cooked in the tandoor - absolutely delicious, the salmon had a spicy flavoursome crust and was moist & perfectly cooked inside. Lovely and efficient service throughout. Highly recommend - it’s quite small so you need to book.

We had an amazing Sunday lunch here it is our favourite restaurant. Today we tried the Sunday special a thali for £15.95. it was amazing value everything was perfect. I could only eat half of it. Service was amazing as usual, are waiters were Pipin and Anup.

Had gone for holidays at St. Ives but then decided to visit Kathmandu Palace. Food was so authentic. On a side note, Gemma, who worked there, is such a blessing as she knows how to take care of customers.

I been there to enjoy Nepali Authentic food as per the reviews seen in google but i regret after tasting food worst experience ever so time consuming delay service, no hospitality ,quantity's less and expensive. Please dont go ever there .

Best Indian food in the South West of UK. People are always polite and friendly, while the place is a little small it doesn't feel too packed and the food is glorious. My only criticism is that they don't open at lunchtimes which I think is a sin, please open lunchtimes!

Wer indisches Essen mag und in der Gegend ist, sollte hier rein schauen. Wirklich ausgezeichnete Speisen. Der Eingang wirkt etwas unscheinbar. Ein kleiner Gang führt in den hinteren Bereich der Gebäude, wo sich das kleine und sehr gepflegte Restaurant befindet. Wir bekamen einen kleinen Tisch für zwei - gemütlich und mit genügendem Platz. Obwohl viel Betrieb war - praktisch alle Plätze besetzt - erhielten wir die bestellten Vorspeisen (Mixed Vegetables) und Hauptgerichte (zwei Paneer Gerichte) zügig. Alles sehr lecker.

Being Indian, I’m pretty fussy about Indian food, and although Kathmandu Palace serves Nepalese/Indian cuisine, food was on the money; authentic taste with amazing service. All the staff members were very friendly and attentive and their Nepalese bottle beer, Gurkha (quite a fitting name), was pretty decent too. Highly recommended.

We arrived, not having booked a table. We were given no indication that there was an urgency to get the table back. While we were finishing our drinks, having eaten, the person serving us told us we would need to move tables immediately and picked up our drinks and moved them straight away without checking this was okay with us. Again, there had been no warning that they needed the table back. We were only 5 minutes off leaving as it was. It had taken them 20 minutes to take our order in the first place. Regardless, this was really rude and made us feel unwelcome.

Went with hubby and mother in law,I always like to try something new. I ordered the Dal soup to start which was Delicious,needed a little salt adding but that’s fine,they had mixed meat starters,for my main I tried Aloo Gobi and chicken Shislack and they were both 10/10,if anything I’d just have the aloo hi I and rice next time as it was too much food BUT OMG it was amazing. Hubby had lamb biriyarni and MIL lamb pasannda which were also both amazing. It’s not the cheapest place to eat BUT so worth it. Take away’s cheaper and we have had that quite a few times

28 of us booked to celebrate our friend's 60th Birthday. We had a fabulous evening. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. Many thanks to Chandra and his team for making the event so easy to organise and for going out of their way to make this a special evening. I highly recommend the Kathmandu Palace.

Absolutely delicious, and great value for money. Big portion sizes mean you'll not leave hungry, and they're also able to accommodate a range of gluten free options through the menu. Very helpful and friendly staff, definitely the best Indian and Nepalese restaurant in truro.

Another amazing evening spent at this superb restaurant. What more could you ask for from the welcoming staff who served us attentively all evening nothing too much trouble . The food you need to taste to appreciate how good it is first class. I spent the evening with some special friends and we could not have picked a better place to enjoy each others company.

Dinner on 30 April 2024. The restaurant had brilliant food and brilliant staff, and the most fantastic was the naan bread and the brilliant atmosphere. What more can I ask for? EXCELLENT

I went there with my Sister and the place was really nice and peaceful. Will definitely recommend for having variety of foods to try. As a Nepalese it gave us the sense of feeling being back home.

Extremely popular so do book! We did, and the food was superb, the staff juggled takeaways and in-house orders very efficiently. Gemma was a joy. One of the best curries I've ever had... possibly even better than my experience of Brick Lane in London. We shall return!

My grandson and I enjoyed an excellent meal on Sunday evening. The staff were friendly and attentive , the atmosphere was great, and the food was well presented. Both of our choices were delicious and accompanied by a very nice glass of wine. I would certainly recommend visiting if you are n Truro.

It was one of best Nepalese curry which we had. I have ordered Kathmandu Special and my husband Pokhareli Lamb. Hot was hot and medium had perfect level of spiciness👌 Highly reccomend! Didn't have time to take photos, was too good🙂

We had a wonderful dining experience here this Valentine's Day. The staff were delightful and the food was delicious. As a child, I have had Nepalese cuisine often so my expectations were high. We ordered chicken momos and chicken pakoda. The momos were good and the pakoda had the beautiful besan flavour. The chutneys that they came with were lip smacking. For the main, I went with Everest Lamb and my partner went for Rogan Josh. We paired them with different naans and Nepali beers. Everything went down a treat and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience there.

We had an amazing dinner at Kathmandu Palace. Very friendly staff. Delicious food. I really loved the momo and the spicy Everest lamb. My kids loved their chicken plates. I particularly appreciated the honesty of the owners and the fact that the prices were all reported in the menu. Definitely a fantastic Nepalese restaurant!

We ordered a takeaway from here last night. First time we’d used this place but the reviews were good so thought we’d give it a try. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the inside of the restaurant looked lovely but the food was a let down. It was cold, bland and very uninspiring. We will not be ordering from here again sadly. To be totally honest it’s getting extremely difficult to find a decent takeaway in Truro for any kind of food. Happy New Year!

An insipid tasteless light pink coconut sauce over a handful of pan fried chicken pieces, if you’d have blindfolded me I wouldn’t have been able to name it as Chicken TM, no seasoning, not even salt. It seems that eating or ordering out nowadays is not about enjoyment so much as not cooking.

Went to dinner at Kathmandu Palace last night for a shared birthday with my Best Friend. I can honestly say I think it’s the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. The taste of the food was like a mouth explosion,it kept getting better and better with each course Absolutely fantastic I will be going again soon. And all the staff are so friendly so lovely it was more like you were dining with friends.

We were initially excited to try Kathmandu Palace, lured in by its promising reviews and a commendable food hygiene rating. However, our experience was far from satisfactory. The curry we ordered had an unmistakable taste reminiscent of a store-bought jar, lacking the authenticity and freshness we expected. Adding to the disappointment, the vegetables in the curry seemed aged and not at their prime. The rice served alongside was bland and unappealing, failing to complement the main dish as it should. More concerning was the discovery of a hair in our curry, a glaring oversight in hygiene. The poppadoms, which should have been a crispy delight, turned out to be stale and inedible. To top it off, the pricing felt unjustified. The portions were meager, not reflecting the premium we paid. We left most of our food untouched, feeling utterly let down. This dining experience was not just a letdown but a complete waste of our money. It was, frankly speaking, gross, and we are determined not to order from Kathmandu Palace again.

This has been one of our favourite Indian restaurants for a number of years now, but our recent visit to Kathmandu Palace in Truro was extremely disappointing. Both starters and mains or though tasteful, the paneer starter/and chicken in the mains were of a very poor/undercooked/chewy standard. I did not expect this especially on a Wednesday evening when this is not the busiest time. The cheese and garlic naan ( used to be one my favourite) parts of the meal was dry, had very little cheese on and tasted very bland and undercooked. To also sit and wait over 20 minutes and have no one come over to see if we were ok/wanted anything else/the bill was also unacceptable. This was our go to place for a curry in Truro/Cornwall and to say this was a disappointment was an understatement. Not sure if we will come back which is such a shame.

This has been our favourite place in Cornwall for a curry for over 10 years. We gave recommended it to everyone however we have just had our last meal there. Firstly the drinks, warm flat cola and lemonade. And the white wine was totally vile and undrinkable. The food here was incredible until a couple of years ago, and last time we visited we did feel it wasn't as good but put it down to an off day, well no more excuses its really gone down hill! The chicken tikka was once big juicy chunks of chicken marinated beautifully cooked to perfection, now its small tasteless and dry. The curries, a madras and a Nepalese special both chicken where exactly the same, totally the same dish, and again aside from the couple of whole green chillies in the sauce bland and watery, almost soup like, absolutely awful, £60 wasted, we won't return.

Enjoyed my food here. Chicken tikka masala had a sweet flavour which was different for me. Also had chilli paneer. Be careful eating the green chilli all at once. Employees were very nice, too. Only downside was the rude customer sitting behind me, but the restaurant is not at fault. Would eat here again.

We called on the day and we were delighted that they squeezed us in (table for 2). It's a popular place but the tables don't feel crowded. Service was excellent and the food utterly delicious. Highly recommended and we'll be back.

We had a great night out which was made all the better because the staff went out of their way to accommodate our booking. Upon arrival our table was ready for us, drinks order taken and menus ready on the table. There is an extensive menu that caters for all tastes. Absolutely brilliant meal at Kathmandu Palace. Very highly recommended. Chris and the team are very welcoming even though it’s been 12 months since we last visited whilst on holiday last year. He remembered us and took the time out for a chat. I appreciate that and it really helps create a great atmosphere when visiting. The food at this restaurant is top class. The Nepalese dishes are excellent. Ghurka lager is great ice cold and the service is excellent. This is probably our favourite restaurant to visit when we are on holiday in north Cornwall. 5* rating all the way. Have booked to visit again in a few days. Keep up the excellent work.
