Fantastic meal, excellent service and very personable staff. The best curry in Cornwall. Well worth a visit and regardless of what you pick you will not be disappointed. Tender meat, beautifully spiced curry and served by staff that are great to chat with. Highly recommend a visit and you'll be warmly greeted by Mansell and his team.

This was the BEST chicken Korma I have ever eaten (and I have eaten a lot, all over the world). It was delicious, the service was fantastic and the price was very reasonable. Chennai would be rated 5 stars if you threw out the reviews from 3-5 years ago. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Lovely food Good service Take your own drinks

Small party, entered late and hungry but nothing was too much trouble. All food tastes and wishes attended to without fuss or judgement. Great tastes, left full and happy, taking leftovers for the next day. Would recommend.

A very nice evening meal with family. All dishes were presented very well and were clearly prepared with experience. The only criticism would be the lack of gluten free options. The staff informed us all dishes contain gluten. My partner chanced it and did not have any issues. Some effort is required to fully incorporate the ingredients in the menu.

I am vegan a they were so friendly to me. Making up a dish for me especially. The service was everso sweet. Lovely gentleman. My sister had Seanad masala. The food was tasty. The decor is not posh but it is clean. I would definitely go back there.

I am a vegetarian and had gone off eating out as I cooked better vegi food at home. However I had a peneer Shaslik and it was delicious, I have had it at other restaurants but non match this. My dad always has the green chilli chicken which he rates highly, I wonder if they could do green chilli paneer. Also the mushroom bhaji is great. Excellent service, a really friendly bunch and efficient. Def my favourite place to eat out in Looe. Oh and you take your own alcohol so save a fortune.

Chennai Indian fusion is a must visit place for both food lovers and those open to trying out new cuisines. They have a wide range of selection, suitable for all to find their special dish. The flavours are authentic and traditional with a mix of modern elements. I especially enjoyed the peshwari naan bread, korma and chicken kebabs. The staff were quick with bringing our food, helpful with the menu and accommodating. Both the quality of the food and service were amazing, highly recommends. I also loved the atmosphere, the beach was right next to the restaurant so it even more enjoyable.

Excellent: Friendly service; good range of regional dishes; sensible prices; noisy, bring your own wine etc. Not a white tablecloth or plush velour seat in sight!

Recommended by the local guest house we are staying at and so pleased they did, Jamie looked after us from the moment we walked in the door until we finished a lovely meal to celebrate our anniversary . The food was delicious and the meat so tender, it was the best Indian meal we’ve had and feel like we would always return when in the area. We are staying near Looe and fancied an Indian takeaway. We chose Chennai Indian Fusion based off reviews. It certainly didn’t disappoint. I ordered via the telephone and collected it, it was ready when we arrived and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, so tasteful and the portions were huge! We thoroughly enjoyed our food and 100% recommend.

The service was perfect. Staff were very attentive. The food portions were very generous. The whole meal was gorgeous. The lamb, in particular, was superb!. I asked for my Pathia to be Phall heat. The waiter hadn't heard of that before, but he made the effort to write it down and make sure my request was taken care of and it was, by the manager himself (Mansell Ahmed) that made sure it was hot enough and it absolutely was. Most places ignore my request to make my curry as spicy as possible.

Went here with a couple of mates last weekend. Great curries and sides, bring your own alcohol with no corkage charge - nice touch. Waiter and Owner were very pleasant and happy to help with any requests. Would definitely visit again!

Had a take away whilst on holiday in Bay Talland. The food was so tasty, nicest one I’ve tried. 5 stars from me & my family of ten.

We have visited here many times and it never disappoints, the food is brilliant, the service quick and efficient and the staff are super friendly. My favourite meal is lamb biriyani, it has such flavour. The restaurant lets you bring you're own alcohol meaning you always get your favourite drink with your meal. Well worth a visit

I have a nut allergy which we disclosed as soon as our waiter came to the table. We ordered drinks and poppodoms to start which were brought to the table. When we came to order the waiter then said he’d checked with the chef and EVERY dish contained nuts. Really? I was going to pick the foods listed as cooked in olive oil in case nut oil was used. They say they cater for allergies but this isn’t listed in their very long list. I can only assume food is bought in and they have no clue what contains nuts. So we had to leave and find somewhere else. Give them their due they were fine when I said I didn’t want to pay for the drinks and nibbles which we hardly touched. I’ve never been to an Indian though that don’t know what is in their food. Come on this is the modern world, everyone else seems to manage to cater for all sorts of allergies! Very disappointing.

The food of future cravings. A Thursday evening supper, no table booked but 3 ladies fancied a bite to eat. Channai accommodated us, and fed us delectable food. We left with full tummies and felt nicely sleepy! The next evening though - even though we were sated by cocktails and food elsewhere, we realised that the food we had eaten was going to be that sort of food that in a few weeks or month when you're craving, it won't just be any curry but it will be a Cahnnai curry that will hit the spot. Sadly I live in Lincolnshire, so it's a very occasional treat, but just go. It's lush. Bring your own beverages, and you'll be utterly delighted by the bill.

Although from the outside you could think it would be an average Indian, but looks can be deceiving and we had the most amazing Indian fusion food we have ever had. Would 100% recommend this restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.

Looe has a lot of good places to eat, but for a combination of taste, quality of food, friendliness this is the top spot. You will not be disappointed.

Visited April 9th with my wife in the evening great food we had mild sweet curries nan bread onion bargees all extremely nice service was faultless. The boss and Zak were very friendly and welcoming. The food was obviously cooked to order.i would definitely eat here again without hesitation. The menu was varied and priced competively . William +michela.

The food was a mixed bag. There wasn't a lot of chicken in my bhuna and it was a little bland, but the korma was OK and the naan was great. The food took a while to materialise. BYO booze.

Awesome service, the food was really top notch, well worth the visit. You are also able to bring your own wine and drinks.

I used to visit when the owner was based in Plymouth and so I made the trek down to Looe to visit again. As usual, it was great food, and I always try something a bit different. We were served by a friendly and helpful team. I'll be back again! Loved the Tandoori Green Chilli Chicken - tasted amazing and not too spicy!

We found this hidden gem last year on holiday and we had to come back again. The staff are amazing. This is a family room restaurant and they cannot do enough for you. The food is absolutely out of this world. The flavours are first class I would highly recommend it to anybody that is coming on holidayor coming for a visit this is a must if you love Indian cuisine. The restaurant is immaculately clean and the service is first class. Can’t wait to visit again thank you to the staff for making our visit once again so memorable

It's always a good sign when you have returning customers. I recently had 2 sit down evening meals in the restaurant and a takeaway - Every occasion exceeded my expectations. The service was prompt, welcoming and efficient. The food on all occasions was delicious and freshly prepared. The portion sizes were very good and it was really nice to be recognized and given a warm welcome by the staff on our return visits. I will definitely recommend this establishment to my friends and if you are visiting Looe you'll be missing out if you do not pay a visit to Chennai. I will certainly be visiting again!

Great location. Fab service. Delicious food. It has to be the most tender lamb I've ever tasted. Dishes are a little more expensive than other Indian restaurants, but that's because you have to take your own alcohol, which suits me fine. They were happy to provide ice/ice buckets etc. Will definitely be returning 😁👍

Best Indian I have ever had! We have been vegan for 3 years so often find indian restaurants tricky, however we visited tonight with friends and the owner was so accommodating! He talked us through the menu and what he could do to suit our diet. The food came out and was incredible! So delicious, I have never enjoyed a curry so much! The service was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. We all left very happy! Thank you. We will be back again soon for sure!

The customer service was incredible. Me and my husband had an unusual request to collect on Christmas eve our Christmas day meal. All I can say is.... wow it was proper lush. The customer service was fabulous even down to lending us cutlery and crockery to match on our Christmas table. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much. Next time we visit Looe we will definitely visit the restaurant 😀 Can't thank you enough for helping make our Christmas 2023 so special. Can't recommend enough 😁

We went to Chennai for our 20th anniversary dinner having not found a decent curry place for a long time… Chennai didn’t disappoint, the food was amazing, the service outstanding and the atmosphere really relaxed Really lovely experience, will definitely go back.

Since opening I have had the pleasure together with family & friends to use the Chinnai on a regular basis. Excellent service, food. The added bonus that you can take whatever drinks in you wish !!! That in itself saves a lot on a coventional licenced Indian. An added bonus is that if you want something on the menu that isn't there or a variant on a dish they are more than happy to oblige !

Live locally and had takeaways but sitting down in Restraunt is great improvement as the friendly and happy service from male and female staff was great. Quality of the food from poppadoms through to breads and curry was superb. Initially prices seem high compared to other areas curry houses but certainly worth it…. Take your own alcohol made sense….. only negative was the choice of background music of a 1980’s mix compilation…..best to play nothing or something associated with the nationality of cuisine played subtly in background would be improvement

We have visited Chennai on a regular basis since it first opened a few years ago. The quality of the food is without exception to a very high standard. Mansel and his team provide a friendly and welcoming service. If you haven't been, you need to go, you will mot be disappointed !

Called in on the off chance midweek, so the restaurant was very quiet. Very friendly staff. Limited menu but fantastic flavoursome food. All four of us received a box of maltesers as a good will gesture. We Would definitely eat here again. Take your own booze.😉👍

My husband and I eat here every week and it is consistantly outstanding! We get a variety of dishes and have tried most things on the menu, I thoroughly recommend the green chilli chicken. The food is packed with flavour and quality ingredients. The staff are delightful and do their best to please everybody. I find the menu very reasonably priced and offers a wide range for all kinds of diets. We have to have a wheat-free diet and Mansell has never accidentally poisoned us. Chennai has a modern contemporary feel which relates to the age of the owner, the other Indian restaurant in Looe is more traditional.

Oh my god! I never leave reviews but I've never had an indian as amazing as this place! Such a lovely atmosphere, the owners were so welcoming and felt really at home. There was 6 of us and we have a family of really fussy eaters but every one of us was more than satisfied with our meals, we all agreed it really was absolutely delicious! Would defo recommend! And we all look forward to coming back again! My daughter left her pot of toys in the restaurant that she won at the amusement arcade and one of the guys even ran up the street to give them to us...such lovely people! Thanks again!!!
