We started off at the bar and were greeted by the owner, They made us feel so welcome , We sat down 5 minutes later by a waiter, It was very busy, but they were on the ball, great service and atmosphere, I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was amazing and at a great price

everyone i know ever raves about this palce or hates it. i hate it first order from here we got 2 portions of chips a tikka balti and scampi and chips - the chips were caked in grease and were undercooked, the scampi was absolutely vile and the balti full of grease had no taste and the chicken was like lumps of coal. to say i paid 36 pounds it's disgraceful avoid at all costs. you'd be better off getting one from a backstreet takeaway it would certainly taste better.

Food was OK, not the best I've had, music way too loud could hardly hear each other talking, the 3 of us were seated at a table for 8 which being a large round table in the middle of the restaurant made it feel really weird lol.

We had a family meal here mid week. The staff were so welcoming. The food was served quickly, piping hot. The meals were delicious. Amazing! It was our first visit, but we will go back.

DON’T have a curry from this place,it was cold when it was dropped off and the curry looked like slops.It went straight into the bin

Regular visitor here, both with family and friends it's a really nice place not many quiet evenings as so busy which shows it's popularity. Great food choices so delicious, can be a bit chilly in the dining area but that's a minor point. Lovely staff always attentive

Very busy. Bit disappointed this time. Staff seemed to be that busy that they were forgetting us a little bit and we had to give them an occasional nudge. Never had a bad experience here up to now. Chicken tikka off the bone was dry and the pakoras dry. Everything else spot on.

Buffet nights are simply glorious!

Not much of a selection as some food seemed to have run out, maybe because it was a Sunday night. Polite and helpful staff. Atmosphere was nice and the ambient music was calming, only niggle tables were rather tightly packed.

Dined in a couple of years ago and it was fine. However we recently stayed at the adjacent Premier Inn and fancied a takeaway. The meal was appalling. It was watery, little taste and not very hot. For what it was the price was staggering. Every single takeaway-only establishment I've *ever* used was better than this place. It's like they have a trainee doing takeaway menus with the experienced chefs making the meals for the well healed dine in customers. Amazing that there could be such a difference. There's something seriously wrong when you can cook better meals than a restaurant, particularly when we talking about an hitherto prestigious restaurant. Don't risk it. p.s. the name of this restaurant suggests it serves Indian cuisine not Pakistani as Google seems to have assumed.

Very disappointed by the level of service. Food was okayish, nothing brilliant. Would not recommend it for a party or a get together in this place.

Food and service were good. They literally come every 5 minutes to check if everything’s going well. Ambiance could be better. It feels dark and claustrophobic as not many windows and the ones were there were covered with dark curtains.

Fast service, & just absolutely amazing food, the curries are so tasteful.

We had the buffet… very limited choice and poor quality. Buffer Had all the condiments for the poppadoms but the poppadoms themselves had to be paid for extra. As you’d expect drinks were overpriced however Half of Pepsi was £3… slight p**s take.

Our first visit but definitely not the last!

We arrived over half an hour before the Buffet had finished and was told the Buffet had finished. We were seated and then 10 mins later was asked if we wanted the buffet, we said we were told it was finished and then was told it was on for another 10 mins. So we decided on the main menu. We were asked what we wanted, we hadn't even received a menu. When the food arrived it was not spicy although it had flavour. We didn't have a check back and weren't asked when paying if the food was ok. The chairs and floor had food all over.

Buffet on Sunday or Monday nights are brilliant.

Middle of the road curry. Its just so noisy you cannot hear yourself think! Tandoori hut much better in Barnsley.

Not been for a couple of years so thought a night out at Kashmiri Aroma would make a nice change. Staff as friendly as I remember but the food wasn’t up to scratch. Two of us ate a main meal with one side each and one drink ( I was driving so had cordial ). Bill came to £43 which is a little more than we would normally expect to pay. We were both disappointed with the food so it could be another couple of years before we return.

Came here for my birthday with my partner, waiters was friendly & helpful. The food was very nice & all came pretty quick. Will be coming back again.

Great atmosphere tonight in Kashmiri,buffet food top drawer,very tasty and full of flavour and piping hot which doesn't always happen at buffet's. The waiters and welcoming manager very pleasant and very attentive in being in the vaccinity when wanting something, excellent experience.

High quality Indian food with Kashmiri specialities. Reasonable prices for the quality. Friendly and quick service, but can get busy. Noisy atmosphere, but could still hold a conversation.

Great food. Great service. We had a party of 8 and everyone left very happy. The staff were so attentive and entertaining as they join in when we were making jokes. Will definitely return.

Food was OK, not bad in anyway, but nothing really special. However it was a decent meal made better by the staff who were very helpful and attentive.

I don’t like the ambiance if you don’t go early the noise is so loud I couldn’t hear what my husband was saying ,The staff are very nice but I am uncomfortable when they stand at the table attempting conversation I don’t go out to talk to the staff .I don’t like that they have stopped the use of tablecloths and although I asked for( a very expensive )medium king prawn curry it was too hot for me to eat .so dissatisfied

Although the food is good here and the service remains attentive, the menu prices have risen dramatically and it isn’t the haven of great value it used to be. This isn’t helped by the withdrawal of the loyalty card discount which, although understandable after the battering that Covid has given restaurants, does mean that there may be better offers elsewhere. It’s a shame that it had to happen as sometimes putting prices up can mean customers don’t come back and that’s not a good business model. Kashmiri Aroma has always stood out to its many customers for good food and good value. I hope it can return to that in due course.

We had the sunday buffet, never again. very limited choice, not even a chicken tikka on the buffet. one type of rice. 3 types of curry. hard naan bread, mushy sheek kebab. overall rubbish

Review sun 6/3/2022 ... Ordered a takeaway...mix starter for 2, and 2 mains with a bread rice chips and spinich. Total delivered came to £53, mostly good ok but one curry was £15 chicken and prawns and it came with a sum total of 2 prawns. Unlikely to use again as not good value for money.

Went back after a couple of years and boy has this place gone downhill! The service is ridiculously slow, there is no atmosphere in the restaurant, there is hardly any choice in the bar and no beers on tap, the tables/chairs/cutlery/plates and dirty, the menus are not clean, and the food is awful, and the prices are way overpriced.

The food here is delicious however the delivery service is poor. Should have taken 60 minutes and arrived almost 2 hours after we ordered. The curry was lovely and always has been however we ordered peshwari naan with pistachios as advertised and it arrived with a note on the bag saying they haven't put pistachios on for the past 3 years due to allergies! Well change your menus then! What if I'm allergic to the almonds that you now put on but don't list on the menu?

Well they have survived the great covid hiatus and are still delivering good quality food and attentive service. Prices have increased as they have everywhere.

Large open space restaurant with lots of large family-size groups so quite noisy, but that’s understandable. Waiting staff were very keen to take orders, asking what we wanted to drink before we had even taken our coats off. Food was delicious and plentiful and can’t be faulted. However, getting our bill at the end was a challenge and, after it finally arrived and cash collected, they clearly assumed we wouldn’t want any change despite it being a considerable amount. After asking for the change it was slammed down on the table by a clearly insulted waiter must have expected a 25% tip. Won’t be returning. Food 9/10 Service 4/10

Ordered from their own website last night. Expected an hour for delivery. Took 90 mins. Food cold and over salty, poppadoms soft, missing our sons chips from order. Very disappointing. Tried complaining last night but by the time I had a chance, they had closed. Telephoned the next night and manager Saj said he couldn't do anything as we had not called on the night. He also said he could not confirm what we had ordered. Easy to rectify by checking online orders. I was offered 20% off next order. I declined this derisory offer. We have eaten at this restaurant many times. Even have a loyalty card for there.The order we placed was for approx £55 and we gave the driver £60 total. Such a short sighted manager. They just lost a loyal patron along with family and friends.

Tried booking online for a table on the 13th November, messaged 12th November but never received a response to either confirm or decline the reservation. Appreciate they may not have had any availability but a response either way is just general courtesy.

Excellent food, service and location. Very generous portions and reasonably priced. The seating is comfortable and the tables are well spaced out. The staff are all very nice and knowledgeable.

Went on a Tuesday, ordered from the menu. Popadoms, mixed seafood starter to share, chicken and lamb mains with rice. Overall the food was nice. However, there was a large group who were celebrating someone’s birthday and the noise was absolutely horrendous. Reminded me of being at a football match…mentioned this to the staff who didn’t speak to the rowdy group. Despite moving further away it didn’t help much!

I always love the food here, i had the buffet as usual which is first class, plenty of choice, always a good selection of desserts too. The staff are very friendly and always make you feel welcome.

One of the best tests of a restaurant is how do they deliver at their busiest ? Our visit was 7.30 on a Saturday and this place is a sizeable restaurant. We were glad we had booked as most tables were taken and the pleasant bar area was full with those waiting. Service was great, food was very good and it was very efficient. It was quite impressive for what must be the busiest time of the week.

This place never fails to impress Top quality food and great service The best Indian restaurant in Wakefield by a country mile. Clean and very well presented Menu has changed slightly and there are some new dishes - The Kahari ones are especially nice

Would actually give this four and a half stars if we could. The food was really good, the service was prompt and friendly, and overall good value for money. Why not a five star review then - one reason only. As other reviewers have commented, the restaurant is incredibly noisy! This must be something to do with the acoustics of the building and we did go on a very busy Friday evening, but we were finding it hard to have a conversation on our table of 4 without raising our voices a bit. Certainly no complaints over the quality of the food though - absolutely first class. We would be happy to return but maybe when the restaurant is a little less busy!

Rating any takeaway is about the quality in food and the money you pay. A few occasions I made a order on just eat to collect at this restraunt & they seem confused on your orders. I won't be coming here ever again as I find better places around wakefield that gives better customer service. My recent visit I went to collect and was told to wait so I sat down and witnessed staff looking at names on the takeaway bags how many times but looking inside and another minute later looking again and another staff touching and looking if a good hygiene inspector saw this they would seriously be questioned. Next I saw staff demanding other staff like ignore that one go to next. It was shocking what I was seeing as lack of customer service skills. 20 minutes later my food was ready so when I got home I found out I had no poppadoms no drinks and I ordered a Korma to find out it was prawns in a curry and well the chips dont ask as white and pale like a quick instant dip in the fryer. I'm like is this a joke? So I phoned the restraunt to complain and there excuses was it's quiet now so come back down and we will cook you fresh meal while you wait about 20 minutes.What should of been really advised is send a delivery driver out to rectify the issue but this never happened. It's like there not intrested in complaints so I give up asking to speak to a manager as they took my money but the service is absolutely shocking so aviod everyone and go to abduls in wakefield or somewhere else

Our first visit to Kashmiri Aroma and we were very impressed. The kebabs were superb with a real chilli kick. My chicken curry tasted fabulous and had enough tender chicken in it for both of us really. Great chapatis and lovely rice. Large, spacious restaurant and good service. Very extensive menu too. Plenty of parking. Highly recommended.

Food was excellent, but it was worrying that none of the staff were wearing face coverings, as required by law. A number of customers came in without masks, and no-one challenged them. Won't be eating here again until the world returns to normal.

Love this place to bits and have been many times since it opened years ago but had not been during the Covid months for obvious reasons. However as things are opening up again we returned but we were unsure what the current normal would involve.During our visit, we were a little surprised at the amount of staff stood around without masks and thought that that could alarm some customers who were venturing out for the first time since the pandemics 2nd wave. Also we were a little dissapointed to see that the prices looked to have gone a little skyward. I do though, understand that they have lost a lot of money this last year and this place will be no different to other places that need to survive.So to the food, the menu was a cut down version of the huge choices usually on offer but this is as a result of restrictions etc so not a problem. As always the dishes were superb, very tasty and well presented and pretty plentiful in size too. The staff were helpful and pleasant and couldn't be faulted, masks aside.Overall a lovely homely, good to be back feeling and one we will repeat soon.

Been going to Kashmir aroma for years, we haven’t eaten there for a year due to Covid... tonight’s meal did not fail it was absolutely gorgeous, the staff were amazing, so friendly and attentive. We were served by Jamal who is an exceptional waiter and recommended us a curry based on our conversation of what we said we liked and fancied to eat. I would highly recommend this restaurant to visit as the food is gorgeous and the experience is memorable.

We don't live close enough for delivery so drove through and collected our order and everything was still nice and hot after our 15 min drive home. Been twice during covid and both times the food was really good. Poppadoms, starters, mains, rice and naan and no complaints. It's more expensive than your cheap Indian takeaway but that's not what this is.

Been to the restaurant before the lockdown and always had lovely food and service. Ordered takeaway for the 1st time during lockdown. Very disappointed!! The food was appalling. Chips were undercooked and cold arriving in a plastic box. All the food was cold. Chicken balti tasted nothing like a balti and I have sampled a few. It is the worst I have ever had. Poppodums were stale and pickle tray was poor.This is not the quality I would expect from a restaurant. All together cost £32 for 2 people. Will not go there again it was not worth it! The best thing about it was the box it arrived in!!

My family have eaten at Kashmiri aroma for years the last time being last year before the out break . It’s always been good quality .We fancied curry tonight so we got takeaway from them via just eat. Tonight the food was appalling to be fair . Even though it arrived before the delivery date it was cold . The masla fish was very fishy like it was old . The dansak did not have any deep spice flavour , it was flavourless and bland apart from chilli as was the Afghan lamb dish . The chips arrived in a plastic box which made them sweaty and soggy . The naan was burnt in places . Just not worth the £45 spent tonight I’m afraid , which is a shame as we used to live the food .

A few years since my last visit when I wasn't over-impressed. Very good Onion Pakora for my starter. Chicken Dopiaza a bit too hot and spicy for my liking but good food nevertheless.

Received takeaway with lovely service to a difficult (new build) estate. Had requested slightly milder curry and was absolutely spot on. Best Indian takeaway we have ever had. Could not recommend more.

Avoid this place at all costs, we went to Kashmiri Aroma in Wakefield this evening, I wish we hadn't bothered going... The food was atrocious, I ordered a chicken saag and my partner ordered a lamb rogan josh.. when the food arrived it didn't look great we thought it might taste better but unfortunately not... my chicken was swimming around in some thick sauce and the rogan josh was utterly tasteless.. I complained to the manager, who couldn't have cared less about the quality of the food.. In the end he reduced the bill by not charging us for one dish....I will not be going back there again...

Have wrote on Google also.Been here before as used to live in Wakefield for 25 years.First time this restaurant has inflated the bill thinking after 3 pints id just pay. Sorry guys I'm a adopted yorkshire man. Not tight just believe in honesty.The person who does the bill is either the owner or manager. Dont use the excuse a new person has made a mistake. That is worrying in itself if that's true.Food good as always, but don't like being ripped off. Stop using covid or furlough to claw back your lost income.Unbelievable guys. Wont be coming back.

Food was nice but I was shocked at the complete lack of COVID secure measures. Tables were far too close together and the restaurant was packed. Absolutely no-one wearing masks or visors. Unfortunately I won't be going back due to complete lack of care around the current safety advice.

The food was mostly great, such as the chicken pakoras and the dhaal and lamb curry. The service was the worst I've ever had. I've noticed if you're South Asian at a South Asian restaurant the service they give you is bad compared to a white person, this is atrocious. Yes it was a busy night but we had to keep asking for the same thing such as something as simple as a napkin or knives and forks!!! Music was tooo loud we couldn't even hear ourselves speak. Wouldn't recommend visiting unless they change the service.

Very disappointed to arrive tonight to find our table for six people at 7.30pm had been given to someone else, despite pre-booking, and we were made to wait over half an hour. Couldn't wait any longer and had to go somewhere else. Very disappointing service, well lack of service.

Booked my daughters 18th birthday here on 26th August I had booked before the eat out scheme started so thought it would be a bonus how wrong was I ! The place was absolutely packed and I mean packed !!! People were pushing around like cattle we finally sat down a party of 5 we got placed on a table for 4 with a spare chair plonked on the end the service was terrible my husband ask what a certain curry was like and man said hot he ordered the curry came like a korma with BANANA in ! The other food was terrible far too many people in the restaurant to get any standard of food was highly embarrassed as I’d said nothing but positive reviews to my guests before hand will defiantly not be returning !!!!!

My god iv ate some curry’s by god I have but this place is unreal the flavours they bring out uv never tasted in your life 10 times better than any curry I have had before, when the place is full of Indians during the 50% off lockdown menu only tells you 2 things 1 the Indians like a bargain and 2 this must be very very authentic cuisine, iv never tasted anything like it and I would pay good money for that karahi recipe, starters are nice but the mains are out of this world, well done owners/chefs spot on

Visited on the eat out to help out scheme . Food was horrendous. Service was very slow due to overbooking of the restaurant. Absolutely no social distancing whatsoever . Starters were average but the mains were poor . Hardly any chicken in the balti dish . Chips looked grey ( best way I can describe it ) naan was more like a pizza . Don’t waste your money .

I visited kashmiri aroma with my family a few days ago and the service was awful the we waited over an hour for our food to come and when it came it wasn't correct when we told the guy who gave our food he was so rude speaking to us like we were dirt our table wasn't even given any forks and knives however when other people arrived white people they were given such good service how can discrimination still happen in this day and age I would advise not to visit this place to eat especially if you are an asian person we clearly get treated differently I was mortified I couldn't wait to leave and will never come back!!

Excellent food and service. We really enjoyed the variety of choice and delicious spicy tastes. The fish and prawns were fresh and beautifully prepared, the lamb was melt in the mouth tender and full of flavour. Our waiter, Jamal, was friendly and efficient too and helped make the whole experience a success. Highly recommended!

They are thieves!! Overcharge you for dishes - menu has a different price to what they charge you - when asked for clarification they say that the menu is the old menu price! They do not write the price of the dishes on the receipt. You order a side dish and they forcefully give you a main dish - and then charge you further. When you call for clarification- they rude and hang up on you!!!PLEASE DO NO GO HERE! USELESS PEOPLE WITH NO MANNERS OR CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL!!

As a regular to this restaurant we love the food, service is always hit and miss, especially trying to get a drink or pay the bill. However, we visited last week and although the food was excellent we were concerned how little in the way of COVID safety measures were in place, it seemed that the only measures were slightly fewer tables and no tablecloths. Staff walking around some with face coverings others without, owner/manager wandering around talking to people. No social distancing, no separate entrance and exit, the list goes on. Needless we won't be rushing back for a sit down meal any time soon.

This was my first time out out since lockdown and it was well worth the wait! Hand sanitizer and social distancing observed. Waiters wore masks. Everywhere looked very clean. I loved the decor. The food was absolutely delicious- asked for extra spicy and it hit the mark! Lovely!

Absolutely shocking experience from Kashmiri Aroma today. Booked online on Friday for 3.30pm table on Sunday, after phoning to check first. We received confirmation of the booking via email. We had family coming from Barnsley too and had planned the time especially to accommodate everyone in the party. When we arrived around 3pm to have a drink first, the restaurant was shut and 2 other families were also there who had booked online and were in the same boat as us. Phoned the restaurant for them to say that they were sorry but they didn’t open until 5pm and that they hadn’t altered their online booking system to reflect altered opening hours. They told us we could wait 2 hours until the chefs arrived to start cooking! Bearing in mind the last time I had a takeaway from here i spent the next morning throwing up and doubled up in pain, we shan’t be returning!

I’ve been going to this owners restaurant for over 20 years now, back when he used to co own the Aagrah when it was good! Quality ingredients, great service and the best Lamb Nihari I’ve ever tasted and I’ve been to Indian restaurants all over the Uk. It is consistently good.

Very impressed by the fish tikka and Goan king prawn dish - spicy and delicious. The nan was light and tasty too. Efficient service and spacious dining area. Highly recommended.

This has to be the best curry house in the area!! Never disappoints and always provides a 5* service! Id 100% recommend their fish masala starter!! They also do Sunday Monday Buffett which is so good for the price you pay!!

Had my first lockdown curry didn’t disappoint great service for collection everything as ordered hot and very tasty

I collected a takeaway on 21st June and was extremely disappointed in the restaurants total disregard for the safety of its customers, with respect to Covid. The key issues were:- No floor markings for social distancing- The furniture in the waiting area had not been re-spaced to account for social distancing- Staff did not observe or encourage social distancing- No hand sanatiser was available- Cash was still being accepted- Staff did not dis infect the card terminal and even worse they handled my card to return it to me.- No ppe or mitigation measures were visibleTo summarise, no precautions had been taken in light of Covid, as though the issue had totally passed them by.Awful disregard for customer safety!

First takeaway in lock down my husband ordered said 40 minutes pick up more like hour and half . They forgot our order worst Indian meal we have attempted to eat most of order wrong there is no trained chef cooking these meals never eat their again . The Howdens

Ordered a takeaway as it’s the only thing we all can do with the current situation and was really disappointed. We go here often when life is normal and it’s beautiful but the takeaway was not good at all. The curry was riddled with salt and oil. Was that hot we couldn’t eat it. We ordered a bhuna too which is a medium dish. The entire thing was cold on arrival so we had to warm it up. Was so disappointed and we paid a hell of a lot more than any other Indian too. Very expensive and it went in the bin.

I don't understand how this place has such good reviews.. We've just eaten our food and to say we were underwhelmed.... It's more expensive than most and we were disappointed with the bland, watered down curries. The lamb chops and liver tikka were ok.

We booked a surprise engagement party nearby for Saturday night for 21 guests. On arrival, we were told there was no booking. We then went to Kashmir Aroma, and they couldn’t do enough for us. At six o’clock on a Saturday night, they managed, even though they were busy, to find space for us, and only had to wait ten minutes for them to reorganise tables etc. The food was first class, surroundings very smart, but they turned what could have been a disaster into a very enjoyable evening. Will definitely go again.
