Lovely afternoon and great tasty food however there were some minor disappointments. We visited during Pride weekend on a Saturday and what a great drag show the restaurant put on. It’s great that the restaurant celebrated Pride and made a great contribution to the LGBTQ+ community. The service was a bit slow at first, took 20 minutes for our first drink. We waited ages for our main course and this was because the order wasn’t received by the kitchen. After 30 minute of waiting for the main course one of the waiters came over to see if everything was okay because we were sat there for ages with no food and drinks so the lovely waiter quickly went to the kitchen to sort it out. I can understand they were very busy so not much of an issue on this occasion. The staff were lovely and polite. I will probably find a day when it’s less chaotic. I have given it a 4 star rating for the reason stated above but I must say the food was lovely and the staff were brilliant.

Delicious and creative. A fun and scrumptious meal full of flavor and color. Warm and welcoming. We ordered a pile of fruity cocktails and a vegetarian menu that consisted of combinations we never encountered before.

Absolutely superb, atmospheric, inclusive and quite simply amazing. The decor is very stylish, with a modern art deco feel. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very professional (Jess you are a diamond). As for the food, unique flavours and totally delicious.

Brilliant food, very unusual, but incredibly good and the cocktails were similarly good (and unusual). The staff are really lovely and the vibe is chilled yet buzzing! Can’t wait to go back again 👏👏

AMAZING from start to finish! The food is some of the best I’ve tasted in London…incredibly fresh, interesting and packed full of flavour. The decor is stunning (even the loos!) and the staff are genuinely caring without being too much. One of the best restaurants in the world.

Went for a friend birthday. Service was poor. It was overpriced and have been to way better restaurants. Very disappointing. Wouldn’t recommend. Such a shame as LOVE Bala baya and this is just no comparison at all.

Super rushed service, was made to feel hurried and uncomfortable. We were asked three times in less than ten minutes if we had finished our mains and food was removed from the table while we were still eating. Would definitely not recommend.

Searched google for a “Lebanese” restaurant near Leicester Square. This one came up as “Mediterranean”. Arrived around 5:30pm. Ordered the day menu, which stopped at 6:00pm. The staff politely, but almost begrudgingly, agreed to take the order. Starters arrived promptly, but throughout the meal we were almost harassed to finish eating, although always politely. Eg our starters were removed or pushed to one side.. literally whilst we were eating! The mains were put on the table, and during our meal, we were constantly asked if we’d finished. Left soon after. Did notice it was not a diverse customer base, although a nicely furnished environment. Shame… disappointed. Avoid!

Visited Kapara having seen the many great reviews. Location is excellent, really convenient and only a few mins walk from Tottenham Court Road Station - tucked away in an atmospheric courtyard. The restaurant looks great and the staff are friendly and attentive and it has a fun, and buzzy vibe (really busy when we visited on a Saturday night). And now onto the food… I am sad to say, that I think the portions are insultingly small and that’s not just in relation to their reasonably high price! The food is served on small tapas style plates, and on a few occasions, the food didn’t go anywhere near to filling the plates - most notable for their small size was the octopus and potato dishes! Cocktails are pricey at £16 each, but are well made and tasty, wine starts at £50 per bottle! We went with friends who also love Israeli food and I have to admit, that I was actually slightly embarrassed by my decision to take them to Kapara (price/quantity/choice of main dishes).

This restaurant is located in a cute little courtyard just off Charing Cross Road between Leicester Square and Tottenham Court Road tube stations. For me it was a revelation. I didn't check the website and as I've eaten in many restaurants in Tel Aviv I was expecting something different. The menu threw me as some of the dishes read like adaptations of Israeli food (octopus for example), but not Israeli mixes. But the cool cocktails were ordered and there was no leaving once they arrived! We ate our dishes tapas style. Shawarma fries - brilliant idea and super tasty. Shakshuka (Israeil shakshuka is the best version in my humble opinion) was perfectly spiced (if you want your eggs cooked longer you should ask), aubergine hummus - wow. But crazily, the star of the show for me was the little bowl of salad. The freshest, tastiest salad I have ever eaten (even better than any salad I have ever eaten in Israel). I started eating everybody else's and didn't stop talking about it for hours! The staff were very nice and even though there were only about 8 people in the restaurant, it had a nice atmosphere. We paid about £100 for 3 of us with drinks which sounds a lot for lunch but it was worth every penny. So if you want to try a cool version of Israeli cooking (if you look at their website you will know what I mean by cool) and you are prepared to try very clever variations on traditional Israeli dishes, this is a very good place to go. Actually so tasty that I didn't take any photos!

We had a wonderful time celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary. Every dish had the most incredible flavours, cooked to perfection. The baklawa prawns and broccoli with figs dishes were sublime!! Our waiter was charming, professional and attentive to our needs. And the design of the restaurant has a lovely modern feel to it. My only comment for improvement, slightly less salt in the dishes, and I really would like to have had Israeli background music just to add to our 'Tel Aviv fantasy' experience!

Heard good things about this restaurant so tried it on a saturday afternoon at 3pm. Arrived early so waited whilst table for 7 - prebooked was sorted. Fine. We then sat and waited 15 minutes to be served. Waiter had a lovely smile. Tried to take food order when we hadn't had drinks order. Took drinks order and food order at same time so starters arrived before drinks. Apart from one starter - had to remind staff and it arrived just as others were finishing. The deep fried squid must have had a maximum of five seconds in the frier so lacked taste - black chilli sauce with it was great. Main courses excellent. Table clearence after mains came from the Basil Fawlty school of service. One waiter removed some plates. Gave us dessert menu to choose dessert over remaining used plates - first for me. Five minutes passed. Second waiter removed more plates. 5 minutes passed Third waiter removed final plates. Desserts were great but did not wait for mint tea to be consumed with them as it had not arrived 10 minutes after they had been consumed. So great food, good value but service does need to get better. Especially as we were there during a time when it was very busy.

Cool restaurant in a nice location. We sat downstairs which was quite nice. Food was nice but portions not big enough. I don’t leave many restaurants hungry, having spent over £85 a head. Menu not huge in terms of choice. So I would say a reasonable place to go, but nothing to write home about…

Had dinner here on a Sunday night. Not very busy. Music level much better and more appropriate than the last time. Sat on ground level this time- much nicer space. Had some amazing dishes like the Jerusalem artichoke - crispy with a sour cream on the top- small portion. The aubergine mess was beautiful mix of mash , the baklava prawns. Was a real surprise as you could eat prawn body skin as it was a batter. The salad was unfortunately average. the lamb swirl was good as well as the braised aubergine and tomatoes humous. Unfortunately they were out of the octopus- which wee had been looking forward to Have. All very good. Sharing size portions for two or three. The desert of naughty and but jam was also good. The wine came in a carafe which was out of a tap- disappointing. Service was excellent.

Incredible food, incredible atmosphere and incredible staff! Everything about Kapara from the second you walk in has been carefully considered from the music and gorgeous decor even down to the loos! The food was simply out of this world and worth every penny. It was fresh, exciting and had I had room I could have just kept ordering more. Truly sublime experience and I cannot recommend this amazing place enough.

I actually really enjoyed the food and the ambience, but was incredibly put off my our server (I think he went by Sam, but I’m not certain) He was very rude and passive aggressive throughout the service and refused to answer anything we enquired about directly. We tried to let it go the first few times but it happened repeatedly. It also seemed like he was perfectly fine interacting with all other tables so we couldn’t understand what the problem was. It’s such a shame that despite such wonderful food, and vibes, our experience was impacted by this.

Always fun, cheeky, and excellent food. The cocktails and wine list are great and the quality of ingredients I the dishes is terrific. The setting is luxurious and chic, but not stuffy and there is a joyful irreverence to the vibe. Great music, apparently the chef makes the playlists himself. Lovely for lunch and super fu and chilled for dinner. Great place for after work.

Kapara is located in a quiet courtyard off the Greek street. I’m a little undecided about whether I would go back to this place or not - I’ll list what I liked and what I didn’t. What I liked: - The food is excellent and the portions are small. - The decor. It’s luxurious, decadent, yet still friendly and casual. A tough balance, very well executed. - We also liked the open kitchen downstairs. What I didn’t like: - Music is too loud. This is mentioned in the reviews before and the restaurant’s response is that it’s part of their brand. We found it difficult to have a conversation (asked it to be turned down a bit, and it was done, but only to be turned back up a little later). - Don’t bother with puddings, not their strength. - We didn’t feel like we managed to “connect” with our waiter. We felt she insisted too much that we order more food, and we felt a cold shoulder when we didn’t. - Service charge was included in the bill, which is great, but our waiter felt the need to mention the service charge is equally shared between staff (again, great) and that we can tip her personally if we’d like to. We felt this was bad form. The card machine also gives you the option to tip, which, if you’re not careful, may lead you to end up tipping twice (as per a previous review). All in all, yes, the food is great, but this is London, there is a lot of good food, the competition is tough, and it is the little things that make a difference when you’re looking for a place to eat out. Would I go there again? Probably not anytime soon.
