Omgs… The food 🤤 and the service 🤌 We ordered kothey chicken momos, chatpatey and aalo ku achar… loved all three dishes and we had the best chatpatey so far. Highly recommended!

Ordered takeaway over the weekend. We were really disappointed with the taste. The lamb dish we ordered was overcooked and far too dry. The momos was nice but unfortunately the red sauce had a sour taste to it.

Very nice tucked away spot to experience authentic Nepali and specifically Newari food. The Samay baji was really incredible. Great food, great service, I’ll definitely be coming back again.

Met Chef/Owner Kamal who embodies hospitality! Nothing was too much trouble and he took really good care of me choosing some small plates. The Thicheko Aalu was fried creamy potato slice slathered in a spice/sichuan pepper mix - fantastic start. Veg Samosa Chaat was tasty, crunchy with just the right heat. Lamb Momo (dumplings) served with a tomato/garlic sauce were juicy and tender with tons of flavour. Great variety flavours when so many places’ food all tastes the same. Kamal was so proud of his food, it made the whole experience put a smile on my face walking back to the car. Go try it!

We booked for 4 for Sunday lunch but sadly we’re the only people there…. The staff were helpful and attentive. We started with chicken and lamb pan fried Mo Mos which were great with a spicy dipping sauce… Followed by a selection of their curries to share… the buffalo one was the favourite… and we loved the lentil pancakes… Overal a very enjoyable lunch we will return…

Love the food, the service and the ambience (comfortable and clean). I was given lots of helpful info when selecting the food, they were very generous with the extra sauce on my curry and best of all, the pan fried momo taste amazing and my chicken curry is so flavourful and hot! It says spicy and it didn't disappoint! A little pricey but I may go back once a while. Thanks!

Excellent service and delicious, tasty, piping hot, fresh food. Came here for dinner with colleagues and we all found the dishes superb. Really deep flavours, and cooked to perfection. Really well-priced. Thanks to the team for their suggestions of small plates to try. The chilli chicken, fish fry, spicy soy, aloo tikka, and buffalo dumplings were really yummy. Excited to come back here soon!

Oh my goodness we have never eaten so well. Absolutely in love with the food, especially the momo and there was an amazing buffalo dish. Service was attentive and friendly. This is our new go-to restaurant and we'll be ditching all other restaurants in Reading.

This family run place has the most beautiful, flavourful food. Momo and the buffalo dish we had being particularly special. Your servers were kind and respectful. Tried buff momo pork sekuwa and thali set . Literally felt like I was in Nepal 🇳🇵. Even in Nepal also, we can’t get a lot of good places for pork sekuwa but the taste here was lit. 🔥

Soooooo much flavour! I visited here on a Monday night hence the lack of atmosphere. I was staying down the road at the Crown Plaza and fancied stepping out of the hotel. This was my first Nepalese and it certainly didn’t disappoint! I’m guessing it’s family run, it certainly feels that way. Fantastic service, quick but not in a way that made me feel rushed. I had the Pyajis for starter and Veg Nepalese Rice dish for main. The Pyajis were amazing. They had a sprinkle of a type of black salt on the top and were served with a green chilli and mint relish/sauce. I’d definitely recommend Kamal’s and will visit again if nearby. It was the perfect place to have a meal for one and watch the latest Rick Shiels video. 😂 Decent pint of Cobra too!

A lovely cosy place to dine with delicious delicacies. The momos are the best, I have ever had and I keep going back for more! The ambience and service are top notch, with them catering to customer's every single need. Kid friendly, always warm and welcoming to kids. Would definitely recommend everyone to go atleast once and enjoy a homely experience of authentic Nepalese food :)

Second visit and made a special trip from Kent just to come back. What a feast. Had an amazing meal making our taste buds sing. Lovely friendly and helpful staff as we aren't too familiar with this amazing authentic Nepalese cuisine. Certainly a real find and we'll be back.

This place was recommended by a friend. We decided to order just a couple of starters for 5 of us as we wanted to enjoy our mains with loads of different dishes that was recommended to us. The member of staff seemed clearly off with our starter orders as we wanted to share. We felt very uncomfortable throughout then night. We ordered rest of our food, ate and left. Not coming back again

We've been visiting Kamal's for over a year now and have never had a bad experience here. There are so many dishes on the menu we recommend - everything from the starters to the momos to the Nepalese set dishes are delicious. The service is always great and it's a lovely cosy place with a good atmosphere. Love it!

We’d been recommended Kamal’s by a few friends and, despite getting it delivered a few times were unprepared for just how brilliant it would be to eat there. We tried a few dishes that were new to us, alongside some old favourites. Can’t wait to go back!

Two of us came for dinner tonight and had the Aalu sadheko, soya chhoella, veg samosa chaat and veg momos - per the servers recommendation. Everything was so so delicious and reasonably priced. Made the perfect spice leves for us, just tell them what you like and they will sort you out 😍 lots of vegan options, will definitely come back.

Came here for my Birthday meal at lunchtime. Party of 7. Food was superb, authentic Nepalese cuisine, presentation was great and service was excellent. All my friends commented on what a good time they had. Couldn't fault it, hence 5 stars.

Had a truly wonderful lunch, pre-booked table. I love South Asian food, but avoid the usual "curry house" fare. This felt fresh and genuine, delicious small plates of very tasty food, much more in keeping with our travels. Kamal was a great host, suggesting dishes, and very relaxed. Looking forward to returning soon! Give yourself a change and try this wonderful food!

A lovely evening. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. We shared a selection of dishes. My favourite was the Pani Puri - fried puff pastry balls you stuff yourself with spiced mashed potato and sauces. The lamb momos were delicious. Good value for money.

Really friendly and personable service, tasty Nepalese set meal, veggie was good, enough to leave you satisfied, not too full. Also given veggie Momo with spicy dip as starter and Nepalese crisps, very tasty and all washed down with a Cobra for £20/head including tip. Not too busy on a Saturday so very pleasant place to enjoy a meal with friends.

Terrible customer service, rude staff. I also witnessed when lady that works there refused a pregnant lady to use their bathroom as she wasn't a customer. Very unethical, shame on you! Update In regards to your response I can confirm it was 100% your restaurant. Please check with your staff as they might not be aware of your policy regarding use of your toilets. Update You obviously won't accept that someone had a bad experience in your restaurant claiming it's a fake review while you ask your friends and family for positive comments to increase rating. Opening without any fanfare from the ashes of what was the Standard Tandoori this place is good. So much so I've been twice in a week. I've really enjoyed going through the menu and will have to go again to further my knowledge on momos and thukpa. We're pretty lucky in Reading to have some excellent Nepali restaurants and this is a fine addition. Edit; we've been back a couple of times more and they're excellent. One of the rare restaurants that make you feel at home and really get into the food.

The momos are amazing, but there are also lots of other great options on the menu including vegetarian dishes. The chow mein and paneer pakora are spot on. And Kamal and his team are always lovely.

We went this place along with the families and friends. We loved every bits of our evening with lovely foods. So called authentic food are often blended with western taste to make favourable for British tongue. But anyone honestly seeking for genuine delicacies that can truly match the tastes from the traditional localities of Kathmandu, then you are spot on at Kamal’s Kitchen. You can enjoy all sort of authentic delicacies in cosy, family environment at this place. Yes, I would like to recommend this place, whoever wants to teleport Nepalese authenticity of food to their tongue.

Excellent food and service! My girlfriend and I went here earlier this month and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They guided us through the menu (we've had Nepalese food only once before) and advised us on what we should have and how much - their recommendations were spot on. We chose the vegan options.The currys, rice and vegetable dishes were delicious, but the best dish were the fried dumplings (momos).

Just came in for a quick bite late at night, had excellent momos, Aalu Tikki chat and the Pulau rice and a beer. Momos were better than most of the ones we had in our last trip to Nepal, and the chat was great as well. Very engaging host, clean and nice atmosphere. Very small place. I’ll bookmark this place for sure!

Kamal's kitchen in 141 caversham road situated at old standard tandoori is another lovely addition to thriving Food Industry ... its one of the best nepalese restaurant that i have been at very authentic newari cuisine... its a Go to place for me ... the staffs are friendly and its a nice cosy place ... its worth the money .. so please visit this place and make it a success 😊😊

So pleased to try Kamal’s and nice to have somewhere doing such authentic Nepalese dishes. The people in there were so helpful to explain the menu, making sure we didn’t order too much. Will have to go back and try the rest.
