What a fabulous little restaurant - lovely surroundings, very clean and looks recently (and tastefully) decorated. The usual typical selection of British-Indian cuisine favourites all cooked extremely well - the garlic naan was probably the best I've ever tasted. We visited on a Sunday night and took advantage of their Sunday buffet menu - fabulous value for money and dleicious. Highly recommended

Went to Kala for the Sunday night banquet and wasn’t disappointed. Had 1st class service from front of house and the food was just as fantastic. Tried the new Naikol king prawn signature dish which had a nice little kick and bags of flavour. Looking forward to getting back in there next week.

Been to many Indian restaurants and had many takeaways but this is the best ever! The flavours are just so tasty and cannot fault a thing. Pure perfection! Always our go to for a curry.

Went to the kala sheep for a sit in meal and couldn’t be happier the restaurant is beautiful and very clean plus nice and cool with AC which is perfect in the hot weather. The waiting team are attentive and look after you very well. The food was absolutely delicious and seasoned perfectly. I had the chicken tikka Balti which was gorgeous and the chicken melted in your mouth. Highly reccomend!

My wife and i visited this real gem of a restaurant on Sunday 21 July and what a brilliant time we had. the service was excellent and the food was sublime!. we visit a lot of indian restaurants and this was by far the best we have eaten in in 10 years!! we had the Sunday Banquet which was really good value and the potions were huge. the food was excellent as was our hosts, i am autistic and sensitive to light, the owner noticed i was wearing sunglasses and very kindly dimmed the lights. so extra points for being autism aware/friendly. PLEASE visit Kala Sheep you will not be disappointed and if you live locally be sure to take a doggy bag home. Thank you so much for a fantastic night

We visited after racing and enjoyed a lovely meal. The service was great, friendly and accommodated our request to try one of the main meal items as a starter. Thanks to the team for a nice end to a lovely day. It was not busy, seems like a hidden gem in Newmarket.

Spent an evening meal at the Kala sheep after a long but enjoyable day at the July course celebrating ladies day. We enjoyed ourselves with a starter of onion bajis and honey tandoori chicken wings. Onion bajis were great size for value, and very scrumptious. The honey tandoori wings were succulent and zapping with flavour. Then following for our mains we ordered traditional chicken tikka kormas with coconut rice, chicken tikka madras with coconut rice, and a classic chicken tikka masala with again the favourite coconut rice. Chicken was all moist and not dry, all the sauces were full of flavour and very fresh ingredients. The service was excellent and very polite. Restaurant was clean and decorated beautifully especially with the massive tiger wall art. Really highly recommend eating here take away or eat in. I order their takeaway very often infact most weeks and I’m always very happy with my orders and eating in only has enhanced my dinning experience with the Kala sheep AKA the best Indian restaurant in town.

Everything about our trip to Kala sheep was faultless, the food was amazing, hot and beautifully presented. Staff were friendly and attentive. A great place to go! Me and the wife went for the "Sunday Banquet" this is a great deal. The food was wonderful but our eyes were definitely bigger than our bellys. A very nice spacious restaurant with lovely paintings on the walls. The staff were so helpful and attentive. I would definitely recommend this hidden gem.

We went to the Kala Sheep restaurant last night and was so impressed. The food was absolutely delicious. One of the best curry’s I’ve ever had. The service was excellent too. Waiter was very attentive. Would highly recommend this place.

The Kala sheep is a frequent take away for us but I'm so glad we dined in. This was a surprise for my wife's 30th and the staff were extremely accommodating and attentive. The Kala sheep never disappoints with food quality but having it straight from the kitchen deffinatly took it up to an 11!

Had another excellent meal at The Kala Sheep Restaurant. It never disappoints, delicious food and is one of our favourites in the area.

Not been to this restaurant since the current owners have run it, so we tried it on the basis of all the excellent reviews and were not disappointed. Very welcoming staff, friendly, efficient and served with a smile. Food was excellent, fresh, well presented and very tasty, we couldn’t fault it. We will return.

As soon as we were welcomed through the door to when we left the staff were friendly and attentive. The menu was exciting and catered to every taste and dietary need. We chose a sharing platter for 2 as a starter , delicious !! For our mains we chose 2 different dishes , rice and naan bread, the servings were extremely generous, the flavours were beautiful and perfectly spiced. Would we go again ? Absolutely Yes !!!!

Best Indian food I’ve had in a long time and was overjoyed to be educated by the amazingly knowledgeable waiter in their style, Northern Bangladeshi, style of Indian food. The meal itself was simply fantastic, wife went for the what is the best Buttet Chicken I think I’ve ever had. I went spicier with the Mr Naga curry, which was the perfect balance of good heat you up spice while still maintaining flavor. I’m a serious spice fan and it did NOT disappoint at all. The Veg Somosas although a little smaller than I like were a perfect balance of flavor and enough heat to let you know there was spice as well. The dine in was lovely, music loud enough to be not aware of other tables conversations but still able to fully hear your own. Cannot recommend this establishment enough.

Really enjoyable meal. We can highly recommend the Kala Masala and the gosht kalia (even made hotter by request). The onion bhaji were really yummy and the saag paneer too! The only issue was we couldn’t eat it all!
