Kai's Oriental Restaurant & Bar in Slough

Fantastic food and excellent service. I have ordered from here many times and it’s always great. I have some food intolerances but thankfully they are happy to cater accordingly so that I can still enjoy the food. Highly recommend Kai’s!

The food is very tasty! The place is clean, very cosy!

Went on Thursday evening. Was empty. Welcomed by a lovely lady. The food is very tasty, and I can't comment much on the atmosphere as I was the only customer to dine in at that time.

BEWARE- should you find the service below standard, you will still be forced into paying the service charge by a lady called Sally!

We had a family meal here and must say it was excellent. It was busy but the service was first class, food was wonderful and they seem to have great staff everyone was so friendly. Really enjoyed our evening and will definitely be returning.

Ordered beef and black bean source and they just give me beef. Will not be using again not really impressed for £35

The food is superb. Freshly cooked. Perfectly seasoned and lot of care taken by Sandy and the chef. Ordered beef chowmein, two mixed rices, and kung po prawns nicely bartered with sauce on the side, not to ruin the crispness. 10 minutes preparation while having a pleasant conversation with the owners. Hmmm... just incredible place ! The food is just amazing! Such a hughe various of different tastes! I had Chinese food before but it's nothing to compare to food serve in here ! Upon that all , there is one more thing that makes this place so special There is a lady who serves the customers , I can't really say she is a waitress as this doesn't describe all she does Such an incredible human being ! She will guide you on everything and match a perfect dish , this is really amazing 😍

A group from the Men’s group had our lunch at Kai’s. We asked Sue to feed us. Wow what a lunch. We spent nearly 3 hours enjoying a superb lunch, so much so we had a return visit a few weeks ago.

We had the pleasure of eating here a month or so ago. We came on a recommendation and had what was not only an incredible meal but a really memorable evening. :-) For those who enjoy good nutritious food, I’d say Kai’s is quite a rare & special gem of a place in Slough. Being a great lover of wholesome food (including cooking it myself, growing vegetables/herbs, not just the eating part!), I’d say what we ate was a lot closer to authentic Chinese food. In any case, it was slightly unique and refreshingly different to what is found in many otherwise great oriental restaurants. It was lovely and impressive to see how Sandy engages with customers, whilst being able to run the place at the same time. This gave it quite a homely and warm touch. Looking at the variety of reviews left here, the most apparent thing to me is how hard it is to please everyone whilst running what can be a busy service. Not everyone’s experience will or can be the same. Anyway, thank you again for such a special evening and looking forward to being back w family in the future! :-) Harjeet Singh Bahra

Amazing food. Even simple egg fried rices tastes much better than other establishments. Decor could use refurbishment now but the service is amazing. It’s ran by family who originated from Hongkong , so food is authentic and not too much modified for British taste. A little costly than other comparable establishments but totally worth it. I will come back again !

Very pleasant . Staff were really friendly and helped explain the dishes to those who had not tried before. Well worth the visit. Would go again

Was in the Burnham/Slough area visiting family (from U.S) and craved some good Chinese food. We tried Kai’s on a recommendation and it was so good we had it twice within a week. The prawn toast is unbelievably tasty and crispy and like nothing I’ve ever had in the U.S. The sweet and sour sauce is a must try-ask for extra. The pork ribs, pan fried noodles, and everything we ordered was really delicious. Food was plentiful, prices reasonable and the service was extremely friendly. Will definitely order from Kai’s the next time we are in town and our family in the area has found their new go-to Chinese restaurant.

I've eaten at this place countless times, and it's been consistently lovely. It's the best Asian food I've found in the area. Importantly, they don't skimp on the meat/filling and substitute it with cheap veg on the main dishes, like so many do, which is such an obvious...finger to the customer. There might not be a lot of Asian restaurants around here, but I can easily say, this one is the best.

Kai's food is great and Sandy is a good hostess, with loads of storeys.

Best Thai and Chinese food in the area. The sweet and sour sauce was amazing and it is homemade. Very good quality and prices. Service was flawless and the owner is very kind and explains all the dishes to the customers so they are aware of how fresh and good quality is their best asset. Definitely will be back soon.

What a fantastic meal and great personal genuine interaction with the the owners Sandy & Kai. We had an epic family night with some of the best Chinese food both myself husband and our parents have ever had. Great atmosphere, the mixed starters where just sublime. Then we all had the crispy aromatic duck, which was bang on! After that we had several dishes but the Teriyaki Beef with Bok Choy was exceptional, soooo tender and flavorsome, highly recommend it. The shredded chili beef was the best weve had as was the Salt and Pepper Squid. Only thing ild say is, its not a fast service and we did have to chase Sandy for more drinks, however we did all consume a vast volume and did keep her busy that. Still a five star review though and weve been back since and wont be going to any other Chinese restaurant thats for sure!!! Top quality!!!!!

As im new to the area and my love for chinese food is crazy but really BAD experience Portion was tiny even my child said this is so little food, very expensive for the portion they serving, 10% SERVICE CHARGE but no service was provided no water, not a CHILD FRIENDLY place as you can see the frustration on the owners face. Not going back I'm not sure if the food was fresh as it took less than 5 min and the food was on our table from the time we ordered. Taste was OK nothing special PLZ DONT ORDER CHILLI OIL THEY CHARGE YOU £2 TOTAL RIP OFF IN A WAY SCAM

Food was really disappointing. Not one of the 4 dishes that I ordered tasted fresh including the boiled rice. The Thai green curry could not have been any less Thai if they tried.

Awful...rice was stale, Thai green curry full of Sliced onions!, Stringy beef was so hard that we couldn't even chew... very very disappointed

This place is the obvious choice for me and fam whenever we feel like having oriental food. Don't take my word for it... go there and see for yourself. It's simply amazing!

The best Chinese restaurant we have. Seeing as the places I used to go have gone right downhill (Jasmine & Yangtze I'm looking at you), Kai's has kept the quality bit is still great prices. Service incredible too.

I don’t usually enjoy Chinese/Thai food so was very pleasantly surprised by the Thai red curry with noodles I ordered here. It was delicious! The menu is not very clear when it comes to vegetarian/vegan options, but the waitress explained to us that we could order most dishes and substitute the meat for wheat protein or tofu.

Wanted to have some Chinese/Thai food and since Slough does not have many options Kai's Oriental appeared in Google search. Went for a dinner with mate and loved it. Warmley welcomed, food did not take long to come, and everything we ordered tasted really good. Enjoyed every bite. Portion size were reasonably good. There is plenty of parking around. Restaurant was very clean and staff was very friendly. This is top on the list for Chinese food in Slough.

Agree with John Emmanuel's comment. Well these days it't not just about taste but an overall experience and value for your money. Prices were slightly on the higher side for the main course and the quantity was just just enough for one person. The most upsetting items were in the second half of the bill I shared here. Water was not provide (deloiveratly may be) so when I asked for water we were give a bottle of water that was charged £4.60. Then Chilli oil charged extra at £2 quid. Take away box for £0.5 pence and then the service charge of 10%. So overall the taste was fine but the extra bits were a concerning. This was surely the first n the last time I visited. Literally the Thai Restaurant next to KFC offers a better quality, quantity, and at almost half the prices. only thig is that is just take away.

Been here and tried fried chicken noodles with sizzling chicken black bean sauce. The taste was okay, portions were tiny & seemed like microwave. And when we received the bill the prices was expensive, addition 10% service charge was levied on the bill. Not sure why as even water was not provided. Would never visit again.

Sandy and Kai never fail to deliver the best Chinese food. Every dish is cooked to perfection and Sandy is always there to help make good choices. We have booked a surprise birthday celebration for our dad and we know Sandy and Kai will.make it a success.

Very very expensive. Price not worth the quantity. Singapore noodles no taste at all. Chicken Sambal was ok. Never going back.

I stopped in here dropping my father off before his flight back to the USA, I had never been before and went based on reviews. I'm very glad I did, the food was absolutely delicious and well made, you can tell when things are made fresh. Also have to say the service was amazing... I think it was the owner who was serving us, she was extremely friendly and chatted to us, I would highly recommend and hi back if I lived closer!

We selected this restaurant randomly whilst in the area. It was a wonderful find. The place is small and intimate but the food and service were well above standard. The owner/waitress was chatty without being invasive and the table squeaky clean. This restaurant and its comprehensive menu is highly recommended without qualification.

An amazing experience of high quality food. Loved the meal. A unique taste to the sauces which are personally created with years of refinement. Especially recommend the kung po King Prawns.

Very expensive, food quality fair apart from the burnt Singapore noodles, they smelled strongly of ashtray. We won't be going back.

The food was nice so we're the portions, but the water and coke came to us already open and the drinks half poured into glasses. Which I found a bit odd, I ordered water and my wife coke, I know my water and I'm normally very particular about it in general, but I came to realise it was tap water Asked the wire to taste it to for her opinion she agreed it was tap water, and her coke came out really flat which it shouldn't have if it was bottled up just before it came to us. And a other thing was, even though it was just 2 groups of people including is at the end, the bill took 15 mins to arrive because the lady was chit-chatting with leaving customers even after she was made aware of us requesting it. TLDR; food is nice but felt cheated with the drinks, and very poor service.

What fantastic food. Phoned to order, and a very short wait time. Arrived early to pick up and greeted by a lovely lady whom works there. Friendly, smiling and keen to know me as a customer. Getting the food home, and wow...I have to say that if you haven't had food from Kai's, you should. As far as Chinese food goes, this is one of the best around Slough. And not greasy either. Price wise in comparison to the food received, another start is most certainly needed. This is certainly our new "Chinese" moving forward 👍🏾

Oh dear what has happened to this once great restaurant? I wouldn’t bother going again. Prices have gone up considerably but the portion sizes have shrunk considerably too. Drinks are way overpriced but they always were, I could forgive that if the food was up to par, but it’s not. It feels like they are cost cutting on every aspect but I think they have gone too far. No prawn crackers while you peruse the menu, the mixed starter now consists of one spring roll, one rib, two small prawn toast and few tempura vegetables, for £7.90 each that is a complete rip off!

Perfect for a family dinner, great service, food and atmosphere. Highly recommended the ribs, unlike any you've had before, and the prawn stuffed mushrooms in black bean is amazing. Sandy and Kai really are a dream team.

Very tasty a bit on the expensive side though....

Ordered a chicken chow main then got food poisoning. Made me very sick so it suggests that the chicken was uncooked or old. My family also got sick and they only had a small amount of it. Food is overpriced and clearly not cooked properly. Over rated, there are much better places in the area for a much cheaper. Never coming back!

I love this place normally, but on my last visit I felt as though the portions for eating in had been reduced and when I asked why I had paid £10 for half the usual portion, I wad told it was due to being busy. Really disappointed as I have been going to Kai's for years now

Food was beautiful & tasted so fresh. Definitely recommend. Be patient if you are used to quick service. It wasn't slow but I've found other restaurant's seem to rush you out. This service suited me better. Will definitely use for takeaway too.

Take Away....Firstly ...Fantastic food! Cant praise it enough. Important for us also was the organisation & proper implementation of social distancing. Time slot given for collection masks. worn & contactless payment. All handled really well.

The food is average, the wine list is overpriced and shockingly poor! The best part is the friendly waiter who will take time to ask you what you like and have a chat while you wait for your order. There were four of us dining, we shared the crispy duck with pancakes, spring rolls and mussels. All very tasteless. For the main course we had the lamb, sambai beef and Singapore noodles. The Sambai beef was nice and spicy, the meat tender, however the portion was small. The noodles were left unfinished as well as the lamb. The proprietor said she was sorry we didnt like it when we told her and it was an unpleasant exchange when we asked for the main course to be excluded from the bill. They did however exclude the wine from the bill. Instead of the wine we asked for the homemade Gin and Tonic that was delicious. Overall, a tiring, dissapointing and tasteless experience.

Best Chinese restaurant in Slough/Burnham by a long way. Must have changed chef recently as quality of the food on the last few visits has dropped from usual exceptional standards.

Food good, customer service needs improving, added on a service charge for just 2 people of 10% without telling us. When questioned waitress about this, was told company policy and then she just walked away. Very rude.

one of the finest chinese restaurants within 10 miles of heathrow airport .if there is a dish you like and its not on the menu ,they will try to repicate it for you, the owners and staff can never do enough to help. oh and by the way the food is fantastic .

Food taste okay, I have bought from here two times and there's nothing to wow about the food. The restaurant itself is spacious, clean and well looked after, I can't fault it at all.

Lovely Chinese food, we booked for 2 last Saturday. We came previously a year ago and really liked it, but our preference is hot and spicy so we tend to go for a curry. However we wanted to go back as it's a walk as opposed to driving, and the weather was good. Didn't disappoint at all, the staff were very friendly and they remembered us. We ordered some dishes but were told not to order any more as what we had would have been plenty for the 2 of us. She was right of course, we were full and would have wasted any further dishes. Food was delicious and tasty, and we liked that you could see the Chef cooking the food. I like this restaurant and the casual feel about it, no pretenses. I didn't mind spending a bit more than we normally would do because we came out feeling very full and happy all round. We are going to bring the family back in a couple of weeks!

Food is very authentic. Friendly people who help out with your preferences and tastes. Ambience is good.
