Kairali South Indian in South Norfolk

Really dissapointed with the classic chicken korma but there was nothing classic about this korma it was absolutely diabolical and it tasted just as bad as it looks (if your looking for a much more enjoyable meal just pop over to next and there you will find yourself a lovely chinese)

Lovely, authentic food. Really easy to order for dairy allergy, everything is marked. Food flavours amazing. Welcoming service from friendly staff and owners. Overall, highly recommended.

Wonderful every single time. My personal favourite is Fish Molly. We had Onam special today, beautiful dishes.

Simply the best Indian take away. Reasons being: the best tasting food you will have, authentic food cooked on demand and to your spice requirements, fantastic customer service and nothing rushed. I have tried most of the menu before it changed. Every dish is amazing.

Cleanest takeaway I've ever been in! Very good menu, allergens well labelled on the menu. Choice is a little limited in terms of curries, prices slightly on the higher side but would visit again just from a cleanliness point of view alone

We have ordered twice from this place and the food is incredible. Beautifully cooked, very tasty, and reasonably priced with generous portion sizes too. As the cuisine is South Indian, the menu is very different from what you might expect, however I strongly recommend you giving it a go. I suggest googling the dishes if you are not sure what they are. Some of our favourites are pepper chicken chettinadu, mushroom masala (extremely tasty), and a vegetable biriyani.

I recently indulged in an exceptional Sadhya feast from their establishment, and I must say, it surpassed all expectations. The meticulously prepared dishes exuded the true essence of authentic Kerala flavors, delivering a culinary experience that was unparalleled. It was undoubtedly one of the finest Sadhya meals I've ever had the pleasure of savoring.

First time ordering from here and the service when ringing through our order was some of the best I'd had. Very knowledgeable on the dishes and what was in them and how they differed from your standard British Indian curry dishes. Food was delicious, again some of the best I've had and reasonable priced too. Will definitely eat from there again!

I feel jealous of Norwich for having this takeaway. But u need to struggle a bit to get there(jealousy reduced). Buses are available though. A lady Keralite chef manages the kitchen and that is very rare in Europe. Even in Kerala, restaurants run by women are prefered over men's for better taste. The food is genuinely Keralan obviously. However some English locals work there too and the takeaway is spacious and well kept. Rice with fish curry is a must(cocum added). Duck roast with porotta or appam would be great too. Starters samosa(diff from Punjabi potato one) or cutlet works too. Everything is made on the spot. It is take-away only. And u need to call and fix an appointment for pickup. The beef varattiyathu was a bit salty and didn't like it. Vegetable theeyal was more like kuruma(with coconut milk). It was okay but I expected original theeyal which is different. And samosa was way too oily. I also request the takeway to do something non-keralan, which is to add fresh salad in the menu! They treat you well there and the visit is a pleasant experience.

Best take away ever. Everyone who works there is so friendly with spot on customer service. And the food is so good. Other take aways have that film of oil on, but not here, and real taste with fabulous ingredients

Delicious, flavourful food and a delightful alternative to traditional British Indian restaurants. Poringland's best kept secret and well worth a journey to discover as both the chef and South Indian cuisine deserves a wider audience. If this place was city-centre it would be huge. I've eaten here many times and every dish was a delightful surprise of unique flavours. South Indian food is often chilli hot, which I love, but they're happy to cook to your preference on request. The owners are warm and friendly.

Best Indian food I've ever had. The ghee roasts are epic. As is the duck masala.

What can I say. The level of quality here rivals the very accomplished Tamarind In Blofield. Absolutely top notch, and is deeply authentic Indian Food. The owner is absolutely fantastic at talking you through dishes that ypu haven't seen before, and tailoring should you so desire. The food is so very and absolutely tasty..... today and several times before, i have travelled over 16 miles to have this food. It is simply fantastic. Try the Dosa..... for those who haven't had one before.... you are about to try something suprisingy delicate and full of flavour My very best dish..... The Corgi Pandi.....heat level high enough to taste and tingle, but won't melt your face like a Naga. It is simply stunning. Thank you for looking after me

Honestly the best Indian in the Norwich area. The food is not only phenomenal but also made from scratch. The owners have always very friendly and accommodating of any dietary requirements, they can tailor any meal to your preferences. We order from them regularly, their prices are still cheaper than most, if not all, so still accessible. A family-run business that is worth supporting. Try the chicken 65.

Dry, pink chewy chicken korma..wheres the sauce? It Definitely wasn’t a quality bit of the chicken. Tiny mango chutney its much bigger every other place, it was gone in half a poppadom leaving me to eat the rest dry. Very very stingy. *see picture for tiny pot!* No complimentary red sauce with The onion bhajis which you get at every other Indian. the onion bhajis were also dry and soft with no crisp. The whole lot has gone in the bin. A waste of over £20. I never leave reviews this is a first for me. AVOID.

The food we had from Kairali was truly delicious. The staff on the phone and on collection were more than helpful (My wife is Coeliac and they speak gluten free :-) ). The food tasted like it had been cooked to original recipes - better than any take-away I have had before. Highly recommended. Not sure my photo does the food justice, but here you go. I had Chilli Chicken, and my wife, Chicken Dosa and Special Chicken Tikka Masala

We had: Chilli Beef, Chicken Korma, Mushroom Rice, onion bhajis, Garlic Naan, Poppadoms ... all lovely!! The owners also came out to speak to me as the order took a while (not an issue when you know they're cooking fresh) and asked who was having the Chilli Beef 🌶 as its fairly hot... well my partner sat here sweating whilst eating it and then had to have a pint of milk!!! Haha

One of the best Indian take away

From the first mouthful I was excited to try all the different menus I had got my self. This place sincerely wipes the floor with over foods supplies of this type. Food is about creating from scratch with heart and this is obviously how this place prepares. Even the samosa is made and rapped with the upmost care. I am truly stunned at the taste and the professionalism of this place. Also the lady that helps this magical food to your tastebuds is wonderful and helpful. They have Castomer for life with me. Never had Southern Indian food before...until tonight... This wonderful take away is tucked away in a little village, and its the best indian food ive ever tasted... The flavours are amazing, the spices are still in the food to create the authentic tastes, and its obvious when you walk in that so much individual care is given to the preparation of the dishes... Its spotlessly clean, simple and inviting... I will definitely be back...

Our first time using Kairali but certainly not our last. Really, Really good food! Not your usual takeaway experiance! Truly worth every penny and a short wait from order to have our food freshly prepared. Also a wonderful personalised feeling when ordering so the food was cooked to our taste.

Im writing a review first time in UK immediately after tasting this corgi pandi(pork dish in coorg style) with a sublime touch of pepper like in kerala style. My Friend Sooraj just gave me this dish when I came to his room and I got amazed by to know about this takeaway. Really recommend this and cant wait to go there in person to explore more. Unbelievably good. I asked for extra chili and spices and they did it with fresh chilli, not just put powder in. Really spot on for freshness, quality and flavour. Also the owners are very accommodating and welcoming and the lovely lady answering the phone is extremely polite and remembers preferences. Can't get better than this and will be my go to Indian curry experience whenever I'm visiting home. Great job guys. (Fyi, the photo is of my curry after I'd already taken some out - portion sizes are great asked packed with meat!)

First time we used this restaurant was this evening and don't regret it. The staff were so helpful guiding us through the menu. The food didn't disappoint. We will definitely be back.

We ordered here for the first time tonight. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was super flavourful and cooked really well. My new favourite takeaway! All the staff were super helpful and friendly!

A refreshingly different type of takeaway! Specialising in South Indian cuisine the menu is innovative and authentic. We went for prawn and chicken dishes and they were excellent - quality chicken, big prawns and really impressive sauces, packed with different flavours and aromas. Friendly service and we even met the chef - all dishes are freshly prepared so he's able to cater it exactly to your taste. Good value too. Highly recommended.

Only my second experience of Kerala cuisine. The dishes and names are unfamiliar, which makes choosing difficult, but generally the food was well-cooked and tasty. I stuck to vegetarian food, which made choosing even harder, but my companions chose chicken and enjoyed their choices. I will try this cuisine again, but probably in a restaurant setting first, where guidance is more readily available. The hot/spicy dishes were correctly described and the food was hot when it arrived home. The Magic Pot Indian takeaway used to be on the site, and that is a hard act to follow. Kairali's prices seemed very reasonable.

Wow what lovely Indian cuisine This southern Indian takeaway I highly recommend. They will alter the spices to suit your taste buds. We went for a medium heat which gave you a hit in the back of the throat but still you can taste all the flavours. The people behind the counter are friendly and very helpful. Best indian in norwich! The food here is absoutely amazing, restaurant quality that you can eat at home, it is proper indian food not like your normal indian on the corner. The quality is amazing, no grease like you always find at a normal indian. Accommodate to all dietary requirements and you do not feel like a pest going in and asking for the vegan options etc. So welcoming and friendly. I will never be using any other indian, amazing.

Fabulous food and a friendly welcome from all the staff. Had been wanting to try out the Kairali since it opened & often saw a masked up queue as I passed. Earlier this evening there was no queue and we were lucky enough to try our first taste of Shilu & Gibu's fantastic food. If you enjoy beautifully flavoured food then there is likely to be something on the menu you will enjoy. Definitely having an action replay! Very well organised takeaway and generous portions too. If you enjoy curry but have not tried the specific Kairali style of cooking and spices, then I'd thoroughly recommend giving it a try. Delicious.

Regular here, lovely food, so tasty, great staff, great price, it’s awesome. It’s a must try, if unsure of what to have, just say what kind of thing you like and what you will get is a lovely fresh takeaway that will make you go back time and again like I do!

First time of ordering from here. Had 90min wait until food was ready, it then took further 20mins until order was completed. All of the starters were nice, but all of the main courses were lukewarm and each dish was very dry, obviously they had been cooked well before we collected them and had dried out in the meantime. We were given free desserts due to the wait time. Fruit cocktail (from a tin) and evaporated milk, not so much an Indian delicacy but a 70's throwback from Britain. Not sure if we will come back.

Best curry I have ever had. Had a chat with the owner who was very pleasant and is obviously highly skilled, the guy taking the orders and payments was also very chatty and efficient. Looking forward to coming again.

I am writing this review as I eat my dinner. It was utterly delicious. This is authentic Keralan cuisine, high quality ingredients, freshly spiced, and what variety: ideal for meat-eaters, veggies and vegans alike. Loved the dal, chana, appam, beef curry, masala dosa - but to be honest it’s all amazing. Do yourself a favour and get down there.

The best Indian take away you are likely to have! Cooked fresh, it really is very good. Not the usual takeaway menu, so we have been trying the different dishes with each visit and without fail each one has been superb. As cooked fresh it does take a bit longer, so plan ahead, it is worth the wait.

Authentic Kerala/ South Indian take away in Norwich. Miles ahead of the pseudo Indian Balti curry places which make up the Indian food scene in UK.

Really friendly staff! Great range of dishes we've never tried before, can highly recommend the samosas, special puffs, chicken 65, chicken manchurian and prawn masala dishes! The mango drink was really refreshing as well, and though we're hoping Peshwari Naan will be added to the menu soon, we'll definitely be back!

Got a takeway for mother's day and I have to say the food was fantastic! Possibly the best Indian takeaway I've had ever. The staff were very friendly as was the chef. I really hope they are successful and I'll definitely be back again.

So disappointing - I know it’s new but there was no card payment facilities, they didn’t have the main ingredient for the first dish I ordered, a 60 minute wait at 6pm despite only a few people seemingly collecting food.. when I got home 6 miles away I found an expensive dish was missing and everything else that was there was either luke warm at best and absolutely tiny in portion size. Limp Dosa’s lacking flavour and texture, bony fish just chucked into a tray with an indistinguishable sauce bland small cold breads .. really poor food for the cost . The lady serving was really pleasant and friendly which is why it managed one star .. Wont be back I’m afraid
