JD Young in South Norfolk

Met up with a friend today for lunch at J D's. Was served by a lovely waitress called Joyce who made us feel welcome. Also lovely surprise of 20% off

We used the Restuarant today after seeing it online. Oh my word what a gem. The Restuarant is so beautiful decorated and the staff are polite, smiley and professional. The greeting as we walked through the door summed up the whole experience. We had lunch on a Thursday which apparently is half day in Harleston. To be honest once in this delightful hotel you won’t won’t to hurry away. The food was delicious. Hot, well presented and wonderfully tasty. Hats off to the management who I hope know what a wonderful job all the front of house staff are doing. We are already recommending you and will definitely be back again.

Popped in on Christmas Eve! Food order took nearly an hour to arrive 2 of the 3 meals were inedible when the barman came to clear the plates after a time. He said he would check and see what could be done we waited but he never came back!

Clean and professional. Good food with helpful staff

We have been coming here for a few years and until our most recent visit we have been very happy with the food and general experience. Unfortunately we will not be returning due to the food being a complete disappointment. Our mains were less than satisfactory, as well as finding a large piece of string in the (tough and dry) sweet and sour pork, which I mentioned at the time and the waitress apologised. Both deserts were tough and hard, the way it would be if microwaved for too long, we were given a replacement for one desert. Despite having problems with all of our meals we were not offered a discount, only when we expressed our disappointment and requested the staff to deduct the desert from the bill did they do so. Whilst we cannot fault the table staff who were apologetic and attentive, we feel the food quality has majorly gone down, and after speaking to friends and family, who have similar recent experiences will not reccomend to anyone in future.

Stayed for one night for a Christmas Market and meet up with car club friends. Rooms are beautifully furnished, warm and clean. Our room overlooked the town square. Breakfasts are very good. Would certainly return again.

Room was very well appointed with everything anyone could need. Staff, courteous, efficient and friendly. Food ~ excellent!

I am only reviewing the food having had a delivery from their hospitality, and have to say this was amongst the best tasting and presented food we have ever had! Absolutely superb couldn't fault even the delivery driver was prompt and really polite definitely using again (and again ).

I stayed at the JD Young Hotel whilst travelling for business. Upon entering I was immediately impressed with the decor of the restaurant/bar area downstairs. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. My room was of a very high standard and I had a great's night rest, breakfast was included with the price I had the full English with a coffee and fresh orange juice. I will definitely stay again if I am in the area and will recommend to colleagues, family and friends alike! The owners and staff can be very proud of themselves keep up the good work!

Room was clean and well equipped, the hotel is in the town square so well positioned. The food was excellent and well presented. Staff were friendly and a credit to the hotel

Booked a table on the 12th of June to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. This was our second visit and the food was great again. On both occasions we were looked after by Charlotte and I can honestly say she does a fantastic job, we both work in hospitality so know the expectations. Charlotte is a proper people’s person who knows how to look after her customers with a smile and great personality. See you next time Ricky and Nui

Booked a table in the bar, food was nice but, had to ask for fresh cutlery for it mains, then dessert was delivered before the cutlery again, Table wasn’t particularly clean when we arrived. But what I object to is having to pay as we go, I’ve never had to do this when seated inside before, absolutely ridiculous!

10/10 restaurant - we always find ourselves coming back! The Classic Burger is honestly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! The decor and vibe is super beautiful and chilled out: just a lovely atmosphere. Our server Charlotte was lovely, attentive and friendly. Couldn’t have asked for better! Will keep returning; one of the best restaurants in the area!

Amazing lunch for my 60th Birthday with my family. Food was delicious, atmosphere perfect, service (Fred was our waiter - brilliant!) was top notch!

We dine here regularly on Sundays for their roast dinner option, it truly is amazing, absolutely love the food and the decor is one of the nicest most tastfuly done around, great hotel.

Ridiculously priced for snacks and wine.chip side portion was small enough to feed a squirrel. Sevice pathchey and insincere. Shame used to be so good.will not be calling again for sometime.

We didn't stay at the hotel, as we were just having food as we live locally. Lovely setting, service was very good, waiting staff very friendly and attentive. Promp service, food lovely and hot, great value. Empty plates all round!! Desserts just as good. Great presentation. Served by Rach.

Easy to find, great food, service good. I had a pot of tea, when pouring tea rand down side pot on to table..nothing major.

A top location to visit, the rooms are fabulous the restaurant is second to non and not too pricey, the staff are out of this world - special mention to Julie, Jo and Fleur ! I've been 3 times, it's always clean, nice atmosphere, well decorated, friendly, helpful and informative staff, sports on 2 TV's. Good food and good choice of food, good portions, the fry up, kebab and burgers are very good, I haven't tried the rest but what I've seen all looks good. I will be going again next time I visit Harleston

Once again, a superb meal from JD's. I've been here quite a few times now and have never been disappointed. Staff were on top form with their excellent service. If you're looking for somewhere to eat, give them a try
